Solid food and drinks for a reasonably priced lunch. Love the ambiance and community space. The smaller sized pizza was def enough for 2 of us and was nice and crusty. Evergreen matcha was so good we went back to get another one the next day. That jasmine and matcha combo but only a summer item
This place seems great. Lots of fresh food options, lots of fermented stuff and their coffees/teas are also really good. Their Cesar salad is amazing. Donuts are good, baked goods are really good as well. The atmosphere is cute and the service is good. It was a little pricey, which is my one negative. I think the salad was like $21 and it was not very big. Still good though.
LOVED! Went for breakfast- such unique latte flavors, which were all homemade and so good. Breakfast options were all great, and the menu changes, so you know everything is fresh.
Nanas in Mystic is a gem but this location stole my heart. Very friendly staff and the espresso bar. I decided to dine in solo and was very impressed by the freshness of the bread, tasty turmeric latte and cute quaint dining experience that I had here. I will pop back in time and time again. Love
Love Nana's!! Working in Connecticut for the past couple of months and this has been a favorite. Service is always great, all the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect!!
Beautiful location with indoor and outdoor seating. We had brunch, starting with the lemon donut which came out warm and tasty! It was light and delicious. Then we shared the frittata and quiche. Both were light and flavorful. The feta was strong but I enjoy the flavor.
This little tiny spot was neat and well arranged, with a good use of space. Menu was eclectic, and everything we had was good. Service was quick abd pleasant.
Walking into Nana's feels like stumbling upon a secret spot (almost literally - you can easily miss it, it's a side door from Longo's - like a pizza and coffee speakeasy) where the local coffee nerds and pizza purists have found common ground. This spot is a study in contrasts - exposed brick meets sleek marble counters, while designer dome lights cast a warm, hipster glow over the weathered wood bar. It shouldn't work, but somehow, it does. The tomato pie here is a thing of beauty. We're talking about a crust that defies physics - thin enough to make you wonder how it holds up, but sturdy as hell. Pick up a slice and it stands at attention, no drooping, no surrender. The sauce is where they really show their hand - bright, vibrant, almost raw in its tomato-forward intensity. None of that overseasoned nonsense trying to mask subpar ingredients. This is very fresh tomato telling its own beat poetry story, with just a few fresh basil leaves playing backup. The coffee options aren't just an afterthought either. Including their homemade spin on coffee milk - comes at you strong and unapologetic, more like an actual coffee than the usual sugary taste point. The menu reads like a hipster's dream - Smashing Pumpkins, Rude Awakening, some concoction called Black Koji Flat White - but the pretension stops at the names. The staff actually seems to enjoy being here, delivering drinks with genuine enthusiasm rather than practiced indifference. There's a constant hum of activity - servers weaving between tables, baristas crafting drinks, pizzas emerging from the kitchen - but it never feels chaotic. The staff moves with purpose, always busy but never rushed, maintaining a rhythm that speaks to well-oiled experience rather than frantic energy. It's the kind of efficient hustle that makes running a restaurant look easy, even though we know it's anything but. What Nana's has pulled off is rare - a spot that's clearly studied the rules of both pizza and coffee culture, only to break them in all the right ways. The '80s new wave soundtrack (INXS's "Don't Change" fitting perfectly into the vibe), the cloth napkins, the real plates - it's elevated without being elite, crafted without being precious. In a world of either-or, Nana's is definitely both-and, and better for it.
Pizza lived up to the hype! I usually try to save my carbs and skip the crust but I ate it all! Really great sourdough base but not at all overpowering. The sauce is so sweet and incredible - clearly homemade. Highly recommend!
Always a joy to pop in for a cool beverage on a hot summer day! Staff were friendly and personable. Great spot to check out and walk downtown or the park across the street
Nana's Westerly is truly a gem! They offer Italian styled dishes with a twist; a lot of their dishes have honey in it, which honestly makes the food absolutely delicious. The restaurant is super cute inside, aesthetically pleasing for sure & you can feel the good vibes once you enter. What we ordered: -Sweet and spicy pepperoni pizza -Caesar salad -Two orders of risotto balls -Nana's Spritz -Beekeeper drink -Brown sugar cinnamon sourdoughnut sundae with matcha ice cream & coconut caramel sauce Everything we ordered was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The risotto balls were our favorite. Typically, I actually don't eat pizza much but the sweet and spicy pepperoni pizza from here is very good. It reminded me of hot honey so I really enjoyed it. I would definitely come back again in the future. If Nana's was closer, I'd most likely be here every other day haha. Good food, good people, good vibes... highly recommend checking Nana's Westerly out!
Drove 2 hours to make it down here, and we were not disappointed. Parking lot available right outside (free) and as we entered staff greeted us and we were seated right away. We arrived at 4pm which is the start of their Happy Hour menu until 5pm. Their staff is extremely nice and helpful with suggestions, recommendations and grabs stuff quickly. We drank the beekeeper cocktail and the Nana's spritz seltzer wine cocktail! Both were well balanced and turned us a shade of red haha I must say we LOVED the risotto balls, crispy, risotto cooked perfectly not overly mushy. Flavor was on point, the sauce with the Italian seasonings? Not sure what it was but it was FIRE so good. We got a second order. (3pc per order) The Caeser salad is a starter size and the lady liked it and ate it up like a rabbit! We also ordered a sweet and spicy roni pie. Now the sizing does not mean how many inches in diameter the pizza is, but rather Small = a neopolitan thin style Large = a thick Sicilian style We opted for the small style. Our staff ladies explained it to us before ordering! It was cooked well, dough was good to eat through the crust. The roni had a kick, i actually think if they used the seasoning from the risotto balls on top it would elevate it even more. We asked for parm, hot red peppers which they make in house and DOES have a kick, as well as in house fried crispy garlic in lieu of garlic powder. We called the night with house made doughnut (cinnamon sugar) with the days matcha choco chunk ice cream with caramel salt drizz? I forget but we finished it! Yum! Worth the drive, will be back as we also found out some friends live near by!
This little restaurant is truly a Westerly gem! The food was OMG good! The Caesar salad has a very unique flavor, it was fresh, light and delicious. Margherita pizza was absolutely amazing. Every ingredient was fresh and delicious! I am very critical of Pizza and Nanas was one of the best I've had. The food was so good. We made reservations for the following weekend. The interior of the restaurant is small but comfortable. It is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The service was fantastic. The whole staff shares in the service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely loved my experience at Nana's Westerly! The staff here were so kind and gave us lots of great recommendations. I also love how cozy and charming the restaurant is. There's a lovely outdoor seating area in the back as well. For food we ordered the salad and the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Nanas makes all their bread in house which makes all their sandos taste even better! read more
A rainy day calls for going out for breakfast, and in this case, it was Nana's. We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and our host recommended this place, so we decided to try it out. The GPS led us to a parking lot, with a good number of spots and Nana's was 20 steps away. They do have a patio with a few tables but because it was raining, we went straight inside. When we arrived, there were only a couple parties seated, but by the time we were mid-way through our meal / leaving, the place was packed. Our server helped us with understanding some of the items on the menu and also warned us about some of the iteme they didn't have, like pepperoni, mushrooms, and donuts. With that in mind, we ordered risotto balls to start and the pesto egg and cheese sandwich (baked fresh eggs, pesto, cheddar cheese, lemon aioli, brioche roll) and Dijon and lemon chicken salad sandwich (slow roasted chicken thighs, lemon aioli, herbs, local greens, pickles, and side of fries) for the main meals. The Yaupon iced tea caught our attention since it has indigenous tea with rotating fruit fusion so we ordered one just to try it. The risotto balls came out a little sooner than the other items. We loved the crispy outside, but not a huge fan of the inside since it was mostly risotto with not enough cheese or something to glue it all together. The sauce tasted like a fancy marinara - it was tart, lightly sweet, but a tad acidic and herby too. In our minds, we imagined our main plates looking differently, but I think it was mostly because we didn't do a good job of reading the menu. The pesto sandwich was good. The eggs reminded us a lot of a quiche-spongey and light. It did not have a strong pesto flavor. The roll seemed homemade; it was good and airy. The Dijon lemon chicken salad sandwich was okay. The chicken thighs chunks were tender, and I could definitely taste the pickles, lemon, and Dijon. I think it needed more salt or even something sweet to balance out the acidic flavors. The bread was well toasted. The fries were delicious with the right amount of salt, crispiness, and variety. The iced tea was not our favorite as it tasted overly sweet which might've removed any fruit flavor. The staff was very attentive, they have lots of tables and high chairs to choose from, and lots of natural sun coming through the large windows. read more

My mother and I had reservations and ate here last night. It was our first time, but we already made reservations to return for brunch on Saturday before heading back home from our vacay. The decor was lovely!!! Our server (Emily) was excellent--friendly, helpful, and attentive. We started off with the special mocktail and shared Nana's spin on caesar salad. It was even better than a traditional one! I would order this again anytime I return...or maybe I would make another trip in just to have the salad. Trust me, my praise is not an overstatement. The addition of the miso, carrots, and radishes made it! For dinner we both had the burger which came with fries. Yummy! If you are a foodie, or not, stop in. You will be happy you did! read more

A very nice, welcoming, and attractive eatery. After browsing downtown Westerly and Wilcox Park and Arboretum, we stopped in here for a warming cup of coffee and a bite for lunch. My wife had a caesar salad which was very fresh and tasty; I had a chicken salad sandwich with a terrific aioli which was very flavorful. A very relaxing and enjoyable spot! read more

Food - 4 stars Service - 5 Ambiance - 3 There are some great dishes. They excel with their baked items, like pizza. There's an emphasis on fermentation, which works better in some dishes than others. Pasta dishes have been very good here. I didn't love the smash-burger because the double patties were much too thick and very salty. The fish and chips were good, but the fries needed to be crisper. We've been to Nana's 5 or 6 times and generally liked everything with some dishes standing out, and others lacking a bit. Service is always excellent and pleasant. Ambiance is pretty nice, but it's very small inside and can feel cramped when busy. The bar seating is limited and can use some better lighting. It feels somewhat dark and cold. I really like this restaurant, even despite the occasional misstep. When they get something right, it's great. Slightly more consistent dishes and minor changes in ambiance would easily make for 5 stars. read more

Can't say enough great things about Nana's Westerly. They deserve 10 and then some for service and food quality. Menus is ever changing with the seasons. Wine menu is small but ultra well curated with many small production, organic/bio/natural wines from small producers who care. The same goes for the ingredients they utilize to create each wonderful dish. Small local farmers who respect the land they use to grow. The pizza is amazing and that's coming from a person who lives in New Haven. This is not New Haven style apizza and I'm tremendously grateful. They are their own style of pizza with equally interesting and well paired toppings. The level of service and hospitality are elevated beyond that which you would find in bigger cities yet packed into a small nook of a space that compliments the New England small town feel of downtown Westerly much like every component and element of food they use to create each dish. This place is worth the drive from anywhere. We keep coming back season after season to see what's new on the menu. read more

I think I found my breakfast spot. Everything I had today was amazing. I'm a bit ashamed of myself because I don't think I caught our waitress's name but she was sweet and attentive. We started with our breakfast beverages and I got my large earthenware mug of chai. Hubby had a nice strong coffee. He ordered the nana's breakfast platter. Comes with 2 eggs, 2 slices of toast, 2 slabs of bacon cooked 2 different ways, and a deep fried potato patty. I ordered the SeaCoast Mushrooms over whipped ricotta on a slice of toast. Everything was topped with an egg with crispy garlic garnish. Wow! The flavors! The ricotta was so smooth and creamy like a crème fraiche but tasty like cream cheese. I've had many dishes topped with crispy fried garlic but this was among one of the tastiest and strongest tasting fried garlic that I've tasted. Hubby also loved his meal. The real star of the show was the chia pudding. Our waitress was super thoughtful and split the pudding into two dishes. Oh my goodness it was so delicious. Hubby ate 75% off it before he even touched his breakfast platter! It's creamy oat milk, perfectly soaked chia seeds, it was topped with oatmeal and toasted seeds. Then it's finished with fresh fruit and a drizzle of fermented honey. Not too sweet at all. Just perfect. Today it was topped with paper thin slices of crisp apples. I wouldn't be surprised if this pudding is ordered EVERY SINGLE TIME we come here for breakfast! read more
