Happy #wowmewednesday with Traveling for Perks! I'm wowing you with a sneak peek at @sift_bake_shop . We went to the @watchhill_ri location. I had a delicious coffee that I told the barista to "surprise me" with as well as a raspberry chocolate croissant. The day prior we took a bunch of our kids to @watchhillmerrygoround which is always a hit! After Sift I drove up the hill to get the closest possible look at @taylorswift 's Watch hill home for a photo for my daughter! A great and relaxing time! read more

NOW THAT IS HOW YOU MAKE AN ICED LATTE!! Take note people. A latte shouldn't just be flavored milk. Look at that gorgeous color. The house made caramel syrup was amazing. read more

Sift Bake Shop - Iced Latte with caramel and whole milk - Patisserie/Cake Shop Near Me - Watch Hill, Rhode Island

I've tried their guava cheese danish and most of their different lattes since this was the only coffee place near my Airbnb. The cheese danish was wonderful and tasted fresh. Every drink ive had (caramel is my favorite so far) has been consistently good. I wish they stayed open after 5 so I could try their cakes for dessert after dinner. The baristas are very kind and welcoming, and the behind the counter banter has been consistently kind and set a good mood in the shop. While there's not any seating inside, a minute away there's a path by the shore where you can drink your coffee by the ocean, so I don't mind their lack of seating read more

We arrived shortly after Sift opened at 7am on Saturday and there was already a short line (~10 min). Everything we ordered was good but not so great that we'd wait in a longer line: + Cheese & Guava Danish ($4.50): Good but a little dry and not as fresh as I'd expect for first thing in the morning. + Ham and Cheese Croissant: This was the least memorable. + Ham Quiche ($9.50): This was the best thing we ordered--super delicate crust, fluffy eggs, good flavor. Would get this again! We also got a few macarons and they were good and at just under $3, a better price than usual. read more

The pastries were simply amazing and we wish we lived close by so we could go back and order them again!

I often travel Westerly, RI, and finding good, independent coffee shops and bakeries can be few and far between. One of the places that is a top notch coffee shop and bakery, and my favorite, is Sift Bake Shop. Over my last two trips to Westerly, RI, I went there multiple times. First, their coffee is great and food is excellent. They have a wide variety of pastries, plus some sandwiches. They also have macaroons and cakes. I have ordered both their chocolate croissant and raspberry croissant. They are both good, but I would recommend the raspberry croissant. The last time I was in Westerly, RI I tried their chicken salad sandwich. The chicken was tender and the sauce was creamy and delicious. The sandwich came with a small bag of Cape Cod chips included in the price. I have gotten both iced lattes and iced coffee there. They are both good. One note of caution, their flavored lattes can be very sweet. Second, the service is good. The coffee shop is small and often is busy. The staff is friendly and they do a good job of the moving the line without being pushy or rude. Third, the interior is simple, but bright and classic. The shop is well lite. The white counter also brightens up the shop. In sum, this is a must visit coffee shop and bakery when you are Westerly, RI. read more

At one point at one of my favourite places bakeries ever. Tender flakey croissants, rich smooth lattes. Fast friendly service. Casual beachside ambiance. A smaller version of their mystic, CT main branch. Was in my way up, will hit the mystic store on my way home. Cannot go wrong here at all read more

Sift was such a wonderful surprise to stumble upon! On our vacation we actually went 2 times, which is crazy because normally I want to try as many places as I can, but I have to say this bakery was so good it was worth a repeat visit! My favorite was the sea salt walnut choc chip cookie, a huge soft cookie! The fancy desserts looked beautiful, we tried the blueberry cheesecake, macaroones and brownie oh also the guava cheese croissant SO good!! Also the shop in Mystic was beautiful! read more

I've been to Sift before and it's usually spot on. This time not so much. What they did right that was delicious- Blueberry muffin Mushroom quiche (which we didn't order that, we ordered ham & bacon) What was barely edible The chocolate croissant (stale & almost no chocolate inside) Chicken salad sandwich (croissant was stale & hard) Peanut butter truffle coffee (barely tasted the flavor and again stale) Would I go back? Ehhh... not this season read more

Sift Bake Shop - a hand holding a pastry - Patisserie/Cake Shop Near Me - Watch Hill, Rhode Island

We have been wanting to come to Sift for quite a while. We finally had our chance and enjoyed a variety of their treats. From coffees to pastries, assorted desserts to sandwiches, Sift definitely has everything that you could ask for. It was all absolutely delicious without a doubt! I would say that my favorite was either the cheesecake or the sticky bun that I got. With Mystic being one of our favorite spots, there is no doubt that we will be back soon to try more tasty treats! read more

Easy 5 stars. Clearly best pastry shop in the area with world class French style - but modernized - pastries but Sift would be among the top places in Manhattan NYC. Super modern and clean "shop" with vast selection, breakfast and lunch sandwiches and fine coffee and espresso. Many of the items are enough for two people. Living nearby my only problem is coming here too much or I will have to up my membership in the gym. read more

Currently reviewing this bakery in the restaurant. The vibes here are great and the service was top notch.on our two day trip here in mystic we've already been here 3 times and the day isn't over yet! You can't go wrong here, everything is delicious!! So far on our two day trip, most of the restaurants we've visited the service has been below the standard but not this place. A great way to start your morning. Will be coming back, highly recommend. read more

SIft is the best. We hit the shop in Mystic every time we are in the area, so it was great to find the satellite shop here in Westerly/Watch Hill. There is nothing I have had from Sift that I wouldn't get a thousand times over, but I am a sucker for their Sea Salt Walnut Chocolate Chip cookies. Truly the best! read more

I love sift. Give me all the baked goods all the time! I was surprised this location doesn't seem to carry as many of the sweet treats as Niantic but it has the perfect grab and go coffees, cookies and croissants to enjoy! read more

Sift's pastries are delicious!!! Their croissants are incredibly fluffy, namely their spinach and artichoke croissant or their croissant sandwiches, which are overloaded with ingredients! While they have a wide variety of drinks and flavors, I usually stick to the caramel iced coffee which is always great, but their brown sugar coffee is popular too. Despite having long lines, their friendly cashiers offer quick service. read more

Love this place!! Despite being crowded, the staff was accommodating and kind toward us and we didn't feel rushed. We got the almond croissant and it was divine. The cream in the center was extremely refreshing, light, and delicious. The croissant was airy and buttery-- it was everything we hoped it would be. Cant wait to come back! It lived up to the hype!! read more

I prefer the Mystic shop. Much larger and more options. I didn't like how limited this shop was. I will drive the extra minutes to go to Mystic for future visits. With that said, the baked goods are still 10 stars! read more

Absolutely the best cakes, pies, tarts and other desserts! Kind of pricey but worth it!!!!!!

As usual soft is amazing. The hot chocolate was Very high quality and the raspberry chocolate croissant was delicious. The salted chocolate chip walnut cookie was a little too salty but still very good. read more

The coffee was good but I found the scones to be very, very dry. Limited seating - more of a take out establishment.

So good! Great gifts for parties! Gluten free options are amazing! Thank you! I will be back.

Ok. The bakery was quaint, but not worth the money. The chai was good, the staff was friendly, the service was quick. All good things. The macarons were overpriced and bland. I'm a macrons snob. Sorry, but they weren't great. All the flavors just tasted like sugar and if you closed your eyes and didn't see the colors, the only one you could tell which was which was the peanut butter and jelly one, which had more flavor, but still not great. I'm glad I only bought 5 because I almost bought 10 and would have been very disappointed. Coffee shop, great. Macrons, need work. read more

It is okay. I am not sure I get all the hype. It is not bad and not amazing. The pecan bun was the best thing I had, though. It is overpriced. read more

Love Sift and everything they offer but the Watch Hill location is nothing like their main location in Mystic. Very small and they always run out of items very fast. On this particular day, I ordered the butterfly lemonade and Caprese sandwich for lunch. The lemonade looked very pretty but it was very watered down and tasted like straight water. The Caprese sandwich had hardly anything on it and the bread was so hard you could break a tooth. I ended up throwing out most of it and was out about $18 read more

This place is amazing. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast, a treat during the day or a great dessert after dinner, this is the place. We went the 3 mornings that we were staying in Mystic. They staff is helpful, friendly and extremely patient while you are "still trying to decide" on which beautiful pastry to get. They have lots of seating inside & out with reasonable prices for the quality of the food. read more

oh yes, my carbohydrated lover, so nice to see you again. uh, sorry, flour got me all hopped up! so, i know eating a croissant he size of a childs head isnt the best thing for you, but also, eating a croissant the size of a childs head is the best thing you can do! personally, i saw the raspberry croissant and knew i needed it. weve also had the chocolate and ham and cheese, all very well done. combo of art and breakfast, i dont think you can wrong, oh wait, yes, when the other half says they are bringing you back sift and all you get is an empty bag. now wash your hands before and after. read more

What a nice surprise...no wonder the lines were 10 people deep. The BEST cookies we have ever had, hands down. Chocolate chip with sea salt; Blueberry oatmeal; Macadamia nut; and delicious molasses cookies. Nice people at the Watch Hill location....can't wait to go back. read more

I realize I've got problems when I wake everyone up at 7:30 saying I want to drive up 100 minutes to Sift to have breakfast on the beach with that delicious cookie. So we do it and find Sift is closed for the season. So then we drive down to Mystic because that cookie craving just had to be filled. So if you're reading this -- this Sift location is only seasonal, though it didn't say that on their website. But when we visited on Labor Day it was 5 star perfect deliciousness -- the coffee, the lemonade, croissant and my best find of this summer-- their delicious chocolate chip walnut sea salt cookie. Tons better than Levain! read more

A place where you go to grow beard by waiting in line forever. Good product, mega slow service

Croissants and breads are a solid 5 starts, but the desserts didn't really do it for me, so I averaged out to 4 stars. If you have the chance to go, the cinnamon sugar ebbioche, the rosemary focaccia and the chocolate croissant are perfect. The sandwiches are really tasty too. In my opinion, skip the brownies, cookies and macarons. read more

My family and I are headed to Maine for vacation and so we stopped in Mystic, Connecticut as a halfway stop. My friend had recommended Sift Bakery so we were eager to try it. Upon arrival the line was around the corner so we thought we'd try their location in Watch Hill, RI. We just left and were so disappointed. First it was just a walk up and order place. No fun of walking in and seeing the yummy treats. Then it got worse when they didn't have the items on the menu we had read about and were looking forward to. The treats we got were good but not as good as expected. I had ordered a blueberry scone but when we got to the car it was just a plain scone...so boring. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this place really let us down. read more

Wondering why there isn't more reviews for this place?! The coffee is great....I had an ice coffee this morning. The egg sandwich is so damn good and flavor is so delicious. Absolutely amazing pastries great selection and very fresh. Bread is also very good. Have not had anything here I didn't like. Love this place but staff isn't always that friendly. A friendly positive staff makes this place a 5 star place all day. read more

It was hard to choose what to buy here. Everything looked SO delicious. We settled on the smoked turkey croissant, vegetable croissant, chocolate raspberry croissant, and almond croissant. All were great, but I can't recommend the smoked turkey enough! Smoked turkey, Brie, green apple, spinach, and cranberry aioli....seriously, best sandwich I've ever had! Go. Now. Wish we lived closer (visiting from TN). read more

My husband and I had dinner at Olympia Tea Room in Watch Hill and picked up dessert at SIFT a few doors down. The brownies are to die for!! So fudgy and moist with just enough nuts. Excellent Chocolate Walnut Sea Salt cookies! And surprisingly one of the best Iced Mocha Coffees I've ever had! Starbucks who?? Love that Sift is in this location. With the pandemic going on, they took extra precautions for customers ordering at the window. read more

Yes, yes, yes. We purchased four different patisseries along with a raspberry pain au chocolate, and that thing was freaking delicious. They were all fantastic. I think it's the perfect place to drop in and grab a special treat on your way to or from the beach...actually, to AND from because you need more than one dessert ;) read more

Great quality bakery with a small but excellent selection. After reading an article about it in the journal, I invited a friend all the way from providence to come to check it out. The staff is friendly but could be more sophisticated in terms of appreciating their own products or suggest customers to appreciate their goods by offering to serve them in the ideal condition. I ordered a "smoked salmon sandwich on freshly baked croissant". It came out of the fridge. Understandable for food safety reasons. But I asked for it to be on a plate. So you would think the staff would ask me if I want it re-toasted. Nope. I sat down and took a bite. Yikes. Cold, dull, stale tasting croissant. I immediately went back to request it to be toasted. Because it would be an insult to the bakers to eat their wonderful creation in such substandard condition. The re-toasted croissant tasted heavenly. Perfection. That's why I don't even have a picture cause I ate it before I even had a chance to take a photo. LOL. We also ordered a classic bakery item the opera cake. Nicely done. The $4 baguette however, is more like a dense Italian bread in the shape of a baguette. The dough has a slight sour taste to it, which gives it some complexity. Now, I know the owner had been trained in France, and I'm no expert at French baking techniques. But from my 10 years living in Quebec and my "dedication" of getting up early every morning to buy the fresh baguette du jour whenever I'm in France, I know this is not the same baguette I get in France - with crusty outside yet airy n chewy inside. Will I come again? Yes - if I'm in watch hill area. But I won't be making a special trip just for it. read more

What a bakery!!! Their filled croissants are not to be believed! They are huge puffs of light buttery scrumptiousness! They also had peanut butter cookie sandwiches, muffins, and baked breads.
