Clear clam chowder and chicken tenders
    Emily P.

Food good enough to eat and go. It's an order at the counter and try to find a table kind of place! Seating inside and outside, no bathrooms. Got the CLEAR clam chowder, honestly it was good and filling. Tried the chicken tenders and fries, it was decent.

St. Clair Annex is a historic restaurant and ice cream parlor that opened in Watch Hill, Rhode Island in 1887. It was founded by the Nicholas Family. The historic establishment offers over 30 flavors of ice cream which are produced on the premises in small batches. In addition to the signature ice cream, the business also offers sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, lobster rolls, grilled cheeses, fries, chicken tenders, salads and soups. Today the St. Clair Annex is owned by fourth-generation owner James Nicholas, who took over for his parents George and Joann when they retired in 2021. My family and I recently visited St. Clair Annex for the first time. We were visiting some friends of ours who were vacationing in the area. After we visited the Watch Hill Flying Horse Carousel, we decided to head next door for some delicious ice cream. I ordered a cup of "Peppermint Crunch", my wife had a cup of "Fresh Peach", our older son had a cup of "Oreo", and our younger son had a cup of "Vanilla". We were all very happy with our choices. This was delicious homemade ice cream! If you find yourself in Watch Hill on a warm day then make sure to stop at St. Clair Annex for some ice cream!

Lobster roll, fries, and New England clam chowder

Lobster roll was good! Big chunks of lobster and some celery on a buttered toasted roll. The New England clam chowder was good too albeit could've used some more salt. Their fries were the best part of our meal. They're so crispy! The ice cream was good too - the standard hard flavors you see everywhere and chocolate/vanilla soft serve. We'd return.

Typical ice cream spot. Sundae was huge, but should be for $18. Mediocre service - three people inside but only one window open. A large group was undecided and took the servers time for over 15 minutes. The other two workers just leaned against the counter. We actually left and circled back - but if there would have been another option, we would have taken it.

Cute little spot in center of watch hill - perfect to get a little scoop. Great central location with great homemade ice cream. Rather quick service but expect normal portion sizes and cash only- CASH ONly- have an atm on site but just fyi. Overall nice little treat with various flavors

Come to St Claire if you want to deal with prejudice and ecocentrism ... In summary I was told they opened in a few minutes and then watched them serve every Caucasian person.... Not to mention when I went to take a seat because I have an illness that requires chemotherapy and affects my legs was basically forced out by the owner walking towards me (who could see my mobility issue) when I simply asked when they were seating patrons. *** This was the owner; description bald with glasses and of course non ethic. Problem they were serving every non ethnic disabled person... terrible and would avoid unless you want to deal with conscious bias by staff and owner. I guess it's one of those sit in the back of the bus establishments or in this case outside. If you are Afro Latina or have an illness go somewhere else because apparently they serve the confederates... My star is a negative 5

Extra 99 cents programmed into cash register.

The $10 minimum on CC's: Double scoop (very small) 8.26. Girl says $10 minimum, so I add a glass of milk 2.75. This adds up to 11.01. But then the receipt totaled $12.00. Ripoff programed into the cash register and shows on the receipt. See photo.

Can't beat a shake after a great day at the beach. We tried the almond joy and chocolate hard scoops, and finished them pretty much before we got to the car. Cash only, so come prepared or there is an ATM on site. Food options looked good to for traditional New England sub/burger/sandwich/chowder fare!

The food is pretty solid and everyone there is fairly nice. I'd say the only major complaints are that they have no air conditioning there and is cash only. I've had the egg, cheese, and bacon croissant sandwich. The hash browns are always good and their jams are delicious. Their popovers are really good, but are served only on Sundays.

Best ice cream in the world !!!! It's all homemade, fresh, flavorful, and loaded with ingredients. My wife loves the coconut pineapple which has tons of real pineapple, and I always get the almond Joy which is loaded with chocolate covered almonds. I'm 33 years old and have never had better ice cream than what this place offers. Give it a try!

    Tuna roll. .suprisingly delicious!

Everything we ordered was good but not so great that we'd wait in a longer line: + Cheese & Guava Danish ($4.50): Good but a little dry and not as fresh as I'd expect for first thing in the morning. + Ham and Cheese Croissant: This was the least memorable. + Ham Quiche ($9.50): This was the best thing we ordered--super delicate crust, fluffy eggs, good flavor. Would get this again! We also got a few macarons and they were good and at just under $3, a better price than usual.

One of the places that is a top notch coffee shop and bakery, and my favorite, is Sift Bake Shop. Over my last two trips to Westerly, RI, I went there multiple times. First, their coffee is great and food is excellent. They have a wide variety of pastries, plus some sandwiches. They also have macaroons and cakes. I have ordered both their chocolate croissant and raspberry croissant. They are both good, but I would recommend the raspberry croissant. The last time I was in Westerly, RI I tried their chicken salad sandwich. The chicken was tender and the sauce was creamy and delicious. The sandwich came with a small bag of Cape Cod chips included in the price. I have gotten both iced lattes and iced coffee there. They are both good. One note of caution, their flavored lattes can be very sweet. Second, the service is good. The coffee shop is small and often is busy. The staff is friendly and they do a good job of the moving the line without being pushy or rude. Third, the interior is simple, but bright and classic. The shop is well lite. The white counter also brightens up the shop. In sum, this is a must visit coffee shop and bakery when you are Westerly, RI.

A great cooler with local organic ice cream, and tons of organic sweet treats on your way to cash out.but my favorite is their full deli with plenty of options. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. This day I got the block island on a wrap and when I opened it i had never seen a sandwich wrap look like this. The center was all wrap. When i removed all the wrap in the center it was a very flat thin piece of meat. Maybe this just wasn't their day but i was disappointed when i got back home and opened it up. I won't let this stop me from going there again but if it happens again I won't order a deli sandwich again. I give this place five stars but on this particular day just 4. Side note my mom also got a sandwich a turkey on white and it was so soggy she said it wasnt edible. We only traveled about 15 minutes with them back home.

The menu offers everything from soups and salads to scallop meals and sandwiches. Extremely well priced. There are about a dozen tables and a few high tops as well as a bar for seating. Parking is across the street. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I wish they had brewed iced tea, but they said it only comes from the fountain. Ick! Ordered a bowl of clam chowder soup. Very creamy and good flavor. The clams seem to be gritty. Probably could use a good rinse before they are cooked. But overall, the flavor and consistency our clams and potatoes with each bite was nice. Ordered the cod sandwich with onion rings. The cod sandwich is quite large. Served on a brioche bun with tomatoes and lettuce and a lemon wedge It was served piping hot. The fish, although large and presentation was nice, it lacked flavor. The batter was not completely cooked toward the meat of the fish. You get your choice of side and we had onion rings. They were standard side, but cooked to perfection. Overall, I was pleased with this restaurant. I would give the ambience a five out of five, the weight staff service was five out of five and the food would be a solid four. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.
