We stopped by Twisters after lunch at Sea View Snack Bar (just next door) for a dessert on that warm day! It's a charming and retro ice cream stand, so we couldn't resist a sweet treat after our seafood lunch. They are more of a hard ice cream spot (lots of hard ice cream flavors but only vanilla, chocolate, and swirl for soft serve), but that cake one of vanilla soft serve really hit the spot. What could beat enjoying some soft serve with a view of Mystic River? Definitely stop by for a sweet treat if you're visiting Mystic!

Twisters is a quick drive from downtown Mystic and has super delicious ice cream that you can eat while overlooking a beautiful water view. Prices are super reasonable and even if there is a line it moves really quick! There's also a ton of seating so once you get your ice cream, you can sit with your group and enjoy the view while you eat.

Super cute ice cream stand near Mystic Aquarium. Like many others we discovered Twisters while eating lunch at SeaView Snack Bar. This spot is right on the water and they have a pretty decent amount of picnic tables and seating to choose from. I am a sucker for soft serve so went with a twist in a cup. Super tasty! They do have plenty of more elaborate options as well like sundaes with all the toppings or more intricate flavors than chocolate and vanilla. But sometimes the classic is the way to go. The employee was friendly and the ice cream was ready quickly! I would certainly stop by again.

We came across Twisters after having lunch at Sea View Snack Bar. There are plenty of picnic tables to enjoy the view and consume the delicious ice cream. Also, there is plenty room for parking. I had a small Arctic Blast (Ice cream blended with Rainbow Sprinkles and Oreo) and my husband had a peanut butter supreme treat. The ice cream was soft and we enjoyed every single bite. The staff was friendly and very fast.

The best of the best! I'm obsessed with soft serve these days and this is true Americana and cheap!!! Are: Twist with fudge and whipped cream Chocolate with fudge and whipped cream Both 3.75 each The freshness of the dairy balanced by the fudge- orgasmic. I must say the twist was slightly more complex but this is American dummer in a cup and very needed these days!

Quick service, affordable, delicious ice cream, beautiful scenery while eating the ice cream! Definitely recommend!

Twisters is adjacent to Sea View Snack Bar. Each has their own parking lot, but they share a picnic area between them. The menu is a little chaotic to read, so if you're pondering let someone else go in front of you. They have soft serve and hard ice cream - the hard is smooth and creamy, much better then anything you can pull out of a freezer. It's a good end to your seafood meal from Sea View!

    Lovely scenery...lot of park benches

Good ice cream and nice staff. Lots of flavors and topping to choose from. Prices are reasonable too. This place is conveniently located on the main road night next to (and in fact sharing some seating space) with the Sea View Snack Bar, which makes it a great place to grab some ice cream after you've had some good eats at the snack bar. The main road also goes to the Seaport which is great stop to and/or from. Feel free to stop by and grab some ice cream while taking in some great views by the water.

Good variety of ice creams, soft and hard. Nice sundae creations as well. Generous and gives 10% off with your Sea View receipt. They also share the same wonderful picnic bench seating that overlooks the water. Dinner and dessert. They made a fantastic waffle bowl salted caramel sundae (see picture) that managed to taste even better than it looked! Another thing to note was the generosity of the employee. It was daughter's birthday and she dropped the cherry from our sundae. I walked back over to ask for another and he happily gave her a small bowl of them. Thank you for making her night!!

Woohoo - yeah I love soft serve. I've been here several times and I'm a fan. Their prices are up there - but as a tourist trap - they do a good job at trapping even non tourist. I recommend their artic blast (McFlurry aka Dairy Queen special). They've got a super Nice view with a seating area. It's conveniently right near by a seafood shack.

The soft serve ice cream was flavorless. Better off going to the Mcdonald's down the road for soft serve.

A Sweet, Iconic Stop: Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream…read more Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream is one of those rare places where the nostalgia hits just as hard as the flavor. It's the kind of shop that feels woven into the fabric of Mystic itself--warm, welcoming, and perched right over the water with a view that makes every scoop taste a little sweeter. Ice Cream That Actually Lives Up to the Hype The ice cream here is rich, creamy, and clearly made with care. Flavors are bold without being artificial, and classics like chocolate, vanilla, and mint chip are elevated by how fresh and balanced they taste. Their specialty flavors--especially anything with fudge, cookie chunks, or local ingredients--are the real standouts. Every scoop feels indulgent in the best way. A Location That Makes the Experience There's something magical about enjoying your cone while watching the drawbridge rise and fall. Whether you're inside by the windows or outside taking in the breeze, the setting adds a charm you just can't replicate. It's a perfect stop during a Mystic stroll, and it's hard not to linger a little longer than planned. Friendly, Patient Service Even when the line stretches out the door (and it often does), the staff stays upbeat and helpful. They're quick with samples, happy to make recommendations, and keep things moving without making anyone feel rushed. It's the kind of service that makes the whole experience feel personal. A Must‑Visit in Mystic Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream earns every bit of its reputation. Great flavors, generous portions, a beautiful waterfront setting, and genuinely kind staff make it a five‑star stop every time. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is one of those Mystic staples you don't skip. Andddd they are opened year round!!! Cheers

The Cranberry Oatmeal Cookie was calling our names and we each got a single scoop. The scoop was very small for $4.75, but we very much enjoyed the ice cream. There were a lot of other seasonal options and a variety of vegan flavors. The hours of Seven Birds may vary, I've noticed they'll close early during rainy weather. It's likely a big hit during the summer season when the village is very busy. There isn't much seating near the Seven Birds building. If you are visiting from out of state, I highly recommend trying one of the Honeycone Ice Cream flavors here if you find yourself at Olde Mistick Village.
