We were there on a very quiet Sunday were we were the only ones at the bar. So it was not even due to being busy. So ultimately, I did not get anything while my husband had one beer. Beware that if you buy one of their seasonal pint glasses it does NOT include the first pour which is a normal brewery tradition. husband got one of their pint glasses and it was $12 plus the cost of the beer. Layout-wise this is a great place for families with kids... not so much if you prefer your breweries more child-free. The beer here has been pretty consistently mediocre over the years... not bad, but not great either. Went to market days today. Walked up, no mask, it's all outside and no issue. They had a sign posted at the front that said you needed a mask, so I assumed they were doing their due diligence to try to keep people safe. No big deal. I have a few minutes of conversation with the ticket people, buy my tickets and go find a table outside. All maskless. And at this point no one has said anything to me. On my third trip to the bar the bartender motions that I need a mask. I let him know that I have a condition that prevents that. He serves me and no further issue. I go to walk around later and see more of the vendors all while noticing some of the vendors are not wearing masks, an employee not wearing a mask, several only wearing over their mouth and a few dozen kids ages 12-4ish all maskless. As I return to my table, the same lady who sold me the tickets tells me I need to mask up. I let her know of my situation and she says it doesn't matter. I just replied ok then I will return to my table. Not trying to make an issue out of it. A few min later a lady comes to our table, clearly angry says, "I understand you don't want to wear a mask". I explain that it's not a situation of wanting to. I have a condition. She says then I need you to leave. I explain that I am sitting at a table now and was not trying to walk around and break their policy. She tells me again I need to leave to which I told her as soon as I was done with my drinks I would be happy to leave. That's what we did. In the meantime she went to at least one other table and talked about us and had us followed to the parking lot upon exiting. Came on a Saturday for the $10 deal-e-o. You get a 7oz glass with four drink tickets. They had a nice selection of beer, the lines can get long at times for refills. Restrooms are few and far between, they are only two, plus portapotties. They had food trucks and a live band one. The local sheriff department patrol the area. The location is cool at an old grain plant. Definitely bring your own chairs though, seating is minimum. Come though and have a great time. read more

One of the greatest things in Katy, Texas is No Label Brewing. Open every Saturday from 12noon-3:00pm, for $8 you have 4 tastings in a complimentary tasting glass (juice glass size) of their delicious beer. Bring or buy one of their pint glasses and get a pint of beer instead of the juice glass shooter size. What a deal, huh?! On top of that they usually have live music, and food trucks. You can even bring a picnic along with your folding chair and use this opportunity to soak up some rays and catch up with your fav friends. If you get to meet the owners, you're in for a friendly treat. Everyone at this place is super nice. While I haven't used the porto potties, I hear they aren't bad. Its also dog friendly, how great is that! 5 dollar admission will get you 4 beer tokens and a small souvenir glass. Such a cute little place to spend your afternoon/evening with live music! Went for the first time on a Saturday (they close early on Saturdays around 3pm, by the way) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It does get pretty hot, and there is no indoor seating, so beware of the summer heat. Seating by stage allows for mixed crowd and opportunities to mingle with strangers and make new friends. We paid $7 for tasting (4 beers, or you can pay additional $10 to get a full pint), which seemed reasonable for the quantity and quality of beer. Forbidden Lavender and Nightmare on 1st Street are some of my favorites and there are lots of excellent options! read more

Sunday afternoon post up with friends on one of the few days of sunshine during the February winter. Parking is usually not an issue, just know that if you have a truck or suv you should bring it as it will make it way easier. My friends and I enjoy the beers (personal preferences), just wish they had another area that sold beers. Beer I had was good, I just wish I could've has some type of tasters or a flight so I could've tried more different types. I have tried beers all over the world and am really looking forward to finding special breweries in the US. Since no flights or tasters were available, you only get the option to choose a full beer. No option to try first. I will pass on the tasting. I had the El Hefe. It was good, a sweet tasing light wheat flavor. However, it seems like they specialize in IPA. So, I tried the Cali boy and it was an on point IPA! Great Hops with a refreshing flavor that leaves your palate wanting more! Then I got the Cicada Red, an Red IPA but seemed to be light on the malt. The food truck ran out of half the items they offer at 7PM on a Thursday, 30 Dec.....Maybe excellent maybe crap, don't know, wasn't an option....Outdoor environment was excellent! Had they offered flights and different types of tasters, during traveler times, they could've definitely got a higher rating. No Label Brewing Company is located in Old Town Katy off Hwy 90 just North of I-10. It's nestled up on 1st Street in the historic Katy Rice Silos district. The brewery is so well hidden that I have driven past it many times without even knowing that a li'l bit of heaven was just sitting there waiting to be explored. We celebrated Craft Beer Friday there on a beautiful Texas day. The brewery is built right into some of the old rice silos, bringing you back to a more simple time before Katy became so commercial and crowded. I think No Label Brewing Company fits right in here and the historic location really adds to the experience. Don't get it twisted though - there is nothing simple about the brewing process at No Label. As I saw with my own eyes, these guys work hard! And I'm so glad they are because we get to enjoy some damn good beer due to their efforts! As you walk up to the brewery, you get an impression that this is just how a Texas brewery should be. It reminds me of a good 'ole boy BBQ out at a buddy's ranch house. The brewery has lots of outdoor seating and a small stage where they feature live music. Step into the large open room and you'll discover this isn't a barn. The smell of brewing hops fills the air and I have to put my hand over my heart... we are in Texas! The brewery and the tasting room are one and the same. You can watch everything that goes on behind the scenes as you sip your Top Texas Craft Beer of choice. From brewing to bottling, it all takes place right before your eyes! One thing that really impressed me about the No Label Brewing Company is how knowledgeable the staff is. We connected with the two brew tenders that were on duty; Jerry and Melanie. Both were able to answer every question I threw at them and even add something more. Their depth of knowledge about the different types of beers, the brewing process, and the history of the brewery were nothing short of amazing. I would suggest visiting No Label early in the day so you can speak with someone at the brewery before things get too busy. They have a lot to share and it is well worth lending an ear. No Label Brewing Company has a wide variety of cool shirts and other merchandise as well as snacks to nibble on until the Food Truck arrives (see schedule). You can also bring your own food to enjoy as you savor a top-quality brew. There are flat screens everywhere and more tables and seating is available inside, along with large fans to combat that summer heat we all enjoy here in the Lone Star State. Ha! No Label Brewing Co. has tours and special events taking place all the time, so check out their website to learn when is the best time to plan your visit. I've been told there are two stories about how No Label Brewing got its name. Well, I will leave that story for one of the friendly folks here to tell over a Top Texas Craft Beer. This is a microbrewery that doesn't offer flights or samples, the beer lacked detailed discriptions and was subpar (which was even worse since you had to buy a 6 or 12 oz pour) The staff was super friendly and I can only hope for their sake that the owners wake up and realize that in order to get people to buy your beer they want to know what it tastes like first! I've been to this brewery a few times and I love it. The beers are tasty including their new england style IPA which reminds me if Portland, ME. The brewery itself is somewhat hidden among this industrial park including a playground and outdoor seating for the family. The bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable! Vibe is very low key and the brewery seems to do a great job of engaging the local community as the Saturday we went they had live music on a stage outside and a veteran-owned food truck where you could grab some decent Philly cheese steaks. They also have a large outdoor and indoor space and some arcade games if you want to kill some time. The beer selection was decent and the pints I got (El Hefe and the Kolsh) were both really good and really cheap (~$4/pint). Staff was also very friendly as well. Although my friends and I decided to visit this brewery on a very warm day with few clouds, we had a fantastic time. There were TONS of people here but I think that just added to the experience. There were little kids, older couples, puppies, bikers, families, etc. The musician playing was extremely talented and definitely was a trooper for dealing with the hot sun in jean, loafers and a button up! There were food trucks for people to purchase food and the beer was tasty. (Had to drink faster than I wanted due to the hot sun, but that isn't the brewery's fault.) On our late afternoon mid-week visit we didn't have much company as we sat at the bar; in fact it was just us and the guy behind the counter pouring our beer. The place reminds me of when breweries were just beginning to open up their doors to the public; there is that rustic taproom casual feel and a very low key vibe. I kind of miss those days. I felt very "urban Austinite" (not in a good way) when I asked if they had flights and the bar keep just looked at me sideways and asked what kind of beer I liked, and wordlessly started handing out samples in little plastic tasting cups.
