We made a stop at the Voo Doo brewery, it's a nice place with a friendly staff. They greet you, ask if you've been here before then explain how to order. It's a minimal contact place, order on your phone and they stop by with your order. The beers, very good West Coast IPA. We wanted to try an app, we tried the fries with chile verde. Here's my only complaint. They did not provide us with anything to lap up the remaining chile from the plate. It was delicious! The fries were good, the topping was amazing. Nice chunks of meat and chile verde authentic. I would drive back there just to have that again. If you stop in, give it a try. If it wasn't good, let me know I was way off. I was so excited to try this place! I wasn't disappointed. First, the little outdoor area is cute and family friendly! It has a fountain in the middle with other businesses surrounding it. There is plenty of room for kids to run around! I loved the idea of putting all of the menus/ordering system online. It was convenient. However, I just wish the staff would have checked on us more frequently. I ordered a berries and cream but they were out of it (they took it off the online bill without me asking). I did order the Blue Sapphire and it was pretty tasty! I also ordered the dessert of the day (a brownie with ice cream). I wanted to like it but the brownie tasted smoked and I wasn't a huge fan. There were so many great options that I wasn't able to try (including the delicious looking food) so I will be back to try them! Their beer/cocktail and food selection was amazing! Wife and I went in as we've been waiting for it to happen. They use QR codes to scan menu and order but our waitress, I'm horrible with names and wish I could remember 'cuz she did a great job, said she'd take our order that that was nice. I got a flight of 6 of their own and wife had a glass of cab. For the flight I picked 3 and she picked 3. See pic. The only beers I don't care for are IPAs so that's what she had to work with. Out of the 6, the only one I didn't care for was a green one - tasted like a sour green apple - not my thing. But their milk stout was good. I'd recommend. As for my wife's glass of wine. They only have one cab, that's expected as this is a brew house. She took a sip, handed it to me to try and thought it was horrible. Added some ice, didn't get no better. We asked what the wine was and told Carnivore. If you're not familiar with, it's a bottom shelf wine at HEB or Krogers, $10 a bottle. Tip to mgmt, step this up. My wife may come back, but since she's not a beer or liquor drinker she has no options. If she has no options, well I'm out of options. And I must admit I'm not much of a wine drinker but it was terrible. Next, the chairs are terrible. The table chairs and tall table chairs were very narrow. I'm 6'2" and both a** cheeks were hanging. Couldn't get comfortable so that lead to a short evening. We passed on the food. I was so looking forward to the pickle pizza. Mgmt, you got to step this up. So you ask why a 5 star - potential. Great beer options, better than average looking food menu, nice outdoor seating are. Potential. So I'll be back. Give them a few weeks to hopefully make some adjustments. I will update. read more

Yo Yelpers. So I tried this place on the way out of town. Seems like they've been opened for about 8 months or so. The staff were very friendly and informative. The atmosphere was pretty cool. it was just me and one other person on a Saturday around noonish. The food came out pretty quick. That was nice. I had a burger and chips. The burger was ok. The chips not so. They were pretty cold. I did ask if they make their own chips. That said yes. I was expecting more out of fresh made chips. That wasn't too fresh. Well Yelpers. Enjoy life. Nice spot. The location is great. Food was amazing, although a little pricey. They are dog friendly but you have to sit on the patio. They even brought my Great Dane a "dog flight" which consisted of some treats, a bowl of water and even his own slices of bacon. Disappointed the first time. Tried it again, disappointed the second time. Great location. Potential for a lot of business is huge. Not a fan of the self service model when I go out. I can get self service at home and the beer selection in my garage frig is better than what they offer. I haven't tired the food, but I heard it was ok. An extensive selection of beer on tap. Food is tasty too. Not just bar food but things like the mussels which I hear are good. They also have a coffee bar with excellent espresso. Ordering can be done from your phone, which seemed a little confusing (no menus or signs) at first but is easier once they explain it. Paying can easily be done from your phone as well. There is a 'kids corner' with arcade games and board games. After watching my 4 year old having a blast, I also played a few rounds of PAC-Man. Sadly, we did not enjoy our experience. We wanted to love this place as we loved Local Table and regularly ate there. Our burger was very, very well done and luke warm at best. We also got the green chili that seemed to be highlighted on their menu as a stand alone. It was awful. I also had to go get our own condiments and silverware that were not on the table that we asked them to bus. I realize they are still in the beginning stages, but I hope they start to improve how they show up in service and quality food to attract repeat customers as we love this location and ambiance and want them to succeed. read more

Wow, we waited so long for this place to open back up after local table shut down and moved over to LaCenterra. What a major disappointment so far. Where do I start? 1st - there is no real service in this entire restaurant/bar. We met a couple there, only to find out that you need to scan a QR code to place your orders. And when I mean you need to scan a QR code, I mean you need to scan one to order a beer, an appetizer, entrée, anything to table. Even a simple glass of water. I was so looking forward to meeting new staff members and routinely coming in and saying hi to people. There is no personal touches to this entire service system. I really hope they go away with this QR code right off the bat. When we went up to order our food, because the QR code was so annoying. The servers seem to be quite frustrated, but that was only way to get an order in. I know it might not be their fault, but come on guys it's opening weekend. You should've prided yourself on service. First impressions are a big deal. Especially in the small area where we are at where there's not much dining options and a large amount of high-end homes in good school district. We all talk. 2nd - we ordered a beer and it has the option for a small sample or a large. Basically they charge you to try samples. When I ordered my beer, I asked for a large which was 12 ounces. They serve them in these goblet glasses. I've seen these hundreds of times. They are exactly a 12 ounce pour. When I got my beer there was barely 9 ounces in it? It was $7.50 for 9 ounces. Everywhere else made it a pint at least. So right off the bat this place is all about money, and not service from what we gathered. If I go back, I will demand my beer is poured to the top. It probably would be a good idea for them to consider full pints?! 3rd and lastly - The food was below average at best. Portions were nothing generous. We are fit active people, so we don't need a bunch of food, but there was literally a McDonald's size small kids, version fries on my plate. I can't tell if that was a frozen burger patty or not? Verdict - I want this place to be successful because it's so close and we used to be able to walk over to local table. But this is just SO disappointing! I really hope they listen to these reviews and change the entire service structure immediately. I do not see how this restaurant will make it unless they change some things.
