We stopped at Hound Song on the drive from Houston after getting lured in by one of the billboards, and I'm glad we did. The brewery has a great atmosphere. And the team was so helpful. It's built inside a historic garage, and you can still see the brewing equipment from the taproom, which gives the place a cool industrial feel. Plenty of indoor seating, a nice patio, and it just feels like somewhere you could hang out for a few hours. I ordered the SMASH Burger and made it a double. That was my mistake. The burger itself was excellent, hot, fresh, juicy, and cooked just right, but my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. The single would have been the perfect size for me. No complaints about the food at all. The beer was delicious too. They had a wide variety of lagers, IPAs, sours, and even a barrel-aged stout, so there was something for just about everyone. I appreciate breweries that don't make everything an IPA. Overall, I was really impressed. What started as an unplanned stop because of a billboard turned into one of the highlights of the drive. If you're passing through Columbus, Hound Song is absolutely worth pulling off the highway for. read more

Brewery #376 Hound Song Brewery is just as much restaurant as it is a brewery. Really cool place with a menu that looked really good. I wasn't hungry but the lady friend got a smash burger on brioche bun that she said was perfect. Although I did steal several fries off her plate that were good. I got a flight of beer and here the flights are 5 beers, wooohoo. I got a High Cotton Hazy IPA, Murkey Mutt (DIPA) , Haygrazer (Kolsch), Pecan Killa (brown ale), and a Dunkel Pepper. All of them were solid but the High Cotton and Dunkel Pepper were phenomenal. The Dunkel Pepper is a Dunkel style brewed with Dr Pepper like flavor. It was delicious and a 100 percent Texas style beer. Hound Song has some really interesting beer, and I was not expecting this from a small town. I will definitely stop in again when I am passing down I-10 going west. read more

Extra kudos for organic ketchup and compostable to-go box. We always stop in when we travel through Columbus, Texas, and we are happy to keep coming back. Clean business and excellent servers. I scored a T-shirt this time, as well as a full belly. They let us sub a veggie patty on the muffuletta sub, which was super great with no up charge. It would have been better with a piece of veggie bacon or a couple drops of liquid smoke to make up for the skipped smoked meats. But we were quite happy. The street corn side was tasty, as were the chips and queso, a mild green chili cheese sauce. We enjoyed their high Cotton Hazy IPA with our food, and hop water for the driver. Special place. Houndsong is a craft brewery in Columbus, Texas. It's quite close to the junction of the 71 (from Austin) and the I-10, on the way to/ from Houston to either San Antonio or Austin. GREAT BREWS AND FOOD. People are super friendly, there's plenty of parking, and the building itself is cool, built as a car repair place and gas station. We met 2 of the owners, Travis and Raven, and they gave us a tour. There's a large hall in back with a stage and projector for parties. Although we stopped for lunch on the way from Austin to Houston, it would be a great place to party, or just relax for an afternoon. Did I say the food is delicious and the beer is clean, cold and crisp? Can't recommend highly enough. read more

This is my first time going here. We went because my friend saw a flyer about Yoga with Peggy once a month, and it comes with a free beer/cider. I tried the Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava Hard Seltzer and found it to be really crisp, light, and refreshening, perfect for a hot summer day, so much that I ordered another one after I finish that one! I didn't try any other beverages so not much help here I suppose. We did however order the Pretzel Rolls/buns with Pimento Cheese as our dip and they were really good. I brought one home to my son and he wanted more! They are kinda like a dinner roll: same size, soft and warm on the inside but the top has that pretzel appeal. My friend got the Mezza Plate and was content (it has tzatziki & hummus to dip the bell pepper, carrot, and celery slices in, plus pita and Kalamata olives). They have indoor (rustic irregular shaped wood tables for 4 people & and some bar stools), and outdoor seating (covered from patio facing the main road). Yoga was in the large back room which has a rustic flair, its wide open, concrete floors, band stage in the corner, long wooden bar, and the restroom location. I would definitely return. Staff was nice and pleasant. Reasonably priced! And they have a reward system for purchases! Brewery is on a corner with Parking is on the street along the side. I was there July 4th and tried their Hootenanny and La Jefa gold medal lagers, and they were both delicious. I rarely drink lagers, but these were flavorful and crisp for the hot weather. There's a good amount of seating, both indoors and outdoors. They have a decent selection of beer and great prices. The bartenders were friendly and did great pours. This place is awesome. Great beer. Great staff. Great food. The atmosphere is just awesome. The asshole lady that left a one star because her kids were being unruly should be banned from all establishments until she learns how to properly raise her kids. They were screaming at the top of their lungs and being encouraged by the parents. They were also running around like wild animals. She's also a liar. Cornhole isn't allowed during live music. People were leaving because of her group. Liars aren't good people therefore they aren't good parents. Logic would dictate that they won't raise good kids into good adults. read more

The other place was closed so we stopped for a quick drink at this quaint and beautiful looking brewery/taproom. I'm soo glad that other place was closed! GPS routed us down 90 and we happened upon this brewery. Service was great and attentive. Had the HayGrazer (German Kolsch) and the Different Strokes (Gulf Coast IPA). Cool brewery inside a meticulously renovated garage. The interior is clean and modern with beautiful hardwood slab tables. But, the beer is why we are here. Highly recommend the Electric Cowgirl, which is a hibiscus gose and the smooth palate cleanser, Different Strokes (American pale lager). I personally like a good dark beer and the No Man's Land is where it is at-- ABV 7.3%, with a hint of Tahitian Vanilla. Scratch pretzels, klobasniky (like a sausage kolache--and if you don't know what a kolache is, then you are overdue for a visit to Texas), and a charcuterie board are light food offerings, but there is also a food truck on site-The Good Eats Stop if you are looking for a juicy burger or patty melt.
