The casual atmosphere made it easy to relax, laugh, and enjoy time together, and sharing a big can of crawfish made the whole meal feel like a fun family event instead of just lunch. Great food, great vibes, and even better company -- definitely a spot we'll be coming back to.

I finally got to go and check it out in New Years Day! We checked out the Magical Winter Lights in Richmond, and hopped on over afterwards. It's a little out of the way, but worth the stop. Arriving. They have a pretty open parking lot. They have a lot of outdoor seating and a food truck outside doing all of their kitchen work. Inside it's pretty spacious, a good amount of seating around. Since it's New Year's holiday time, everything was in Christmas decor. They have pool tables and darts as well. They only had one person work in the bar when we were there which was fine with us, there was only our group and a couple of other people coming and going. Their kitchen is in a truck outside and they have a pretty full menu. The food is actually very good. We had the avocado burger and it was fantastic. They also had spicy fried pickles that were pretty good. Of course, I had to get my favorite beer on tap for my first drink, and then we took a look into their cocktail menu. They had a lot of different old fashions available. So we pretty much tried the majority of the menu but at some point. The only downside was that because of some issues they were having with their equipment, they only had two of their own brews on tap. I'd like to come back when they have more. Overall a great spot to stop at if you're in the area!

We had an amazing experience at Talyards on the Fourth of July!…read more Talyards is one of our favorite spots--it's an amazing family-friendly place with delicious food, a great atmosphere, and some of the best hospitality around. Even with how incredibly busy they were, the entire team was efficient, organized, and provided outstanding service. Susan, who was handling order pickups, was absolutely outstanding. She was the sweetest, kindest, and most patient person, even while managing a large number of customers at once. She communicated exceptionally well with the kitchen, always had answers to customers' questions, and handled every situation with professionalism and a smile. I witnessed customers become frustrated, Susan stayed calm, smoothed things over, and made sure every order was made right. Somehow by accident an item wasn't included on our order. As soon as she realized it, she had a fresh order ready for us in just minutes. She even called me, instead of sending a text so I would know immediately. Susan, and ALL THE STAFF truly went above and beyond on a super busy day, and their customer service made a hectic holiday feel easy. Susan is a tremendous asset to Talyards, and because of employees like her, it's easy to see why this is one of our favorite places. We'll definitely be back again and again!

Stopped by Talyard Brewing to try a beer flight and a few bites…read more For the beer flight I ordered the Yard Beer, Silver Lining, Overhead Smash, and Dark Prospect. Surprisingly, the Dark Prospect ended up being my favorite of the four beers and the best beverage I had there. I also tried the Margarita and Strawberry Fresca cider, and both were just okay. For food I ordered the Bacon Glazed Brussels and they were delicious! The brussel sprouts were crispy, and I loved the combination of the onions and bacon. I also had the built your own pizza with San Marzano sauce, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, pepperoni, Italian sausage, and bacon. All of the toppings were delicious, but unfortunately, the pizza crust itself was pretty greasy, flimsy, and floppy. The crust didn't hold the toppings very well, and I could barely taste the San Marzano sauce. The service was good. Everyone I encountered was very nice and friendly. As far as ambiance Talyard has a spacious setup with indoor, outdoor, and upstairs seating. They also have a playground, a big screen for movie nights, and private rooms available for events.

I brought my friend to Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen to celebrate his 34th birthday…read more He asked me to create a wine tasting event for him. I quickly searched on Google and found several options. Messina Hof grabbed my attention. First, it's out in the country, not in the busy Houston region. Second, it has food to pair with wine. Third, I love driving to Richmond Texas. I thought this city has a lot of charms. So, I made a reservation online. While that was not a requirement, but I would like to be reminded. We arrived at the restaurant late because I under estimated the traffic from Southwest Houston. My reservation was moved with my request, nice. The parking lot is huge and wheelchair accessible spots are on both sides of the entrance. We were one of 2 parties at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The wait staff was very cordial. She introduced us the wine tasting menu: White Wine, Red Wine, Mixed Wines, Premium, Library and Sweet Wines. My friend likes to try their sweet collection, $28. I don't drink. So, I just looked at him enjoying the wines. It started with something weak to something strong like a Port and ended with something delicious that he really liked. Each pour is 3 oz, except 1 oz of port due to high alcohol content. We bought a bottle of Orange Muscat Mistella, $25. I don't think we can find this elsewhere for this price. For people like me who don't drink, I asked for a glass of sparkling red grape juice. We also paired our drinks with a wood-fired pizza and I ordered a Burrata Salad. They are quite delightful. I was surprised as the wines are travelled from Bryan/College Station and Fredericksburg of Texas. Umm... So, this huge facility doesn't produce wines. Although, there is a grapevines out on the front. As we've been told that those grape trees will produce grapes next year. The only winery tour is at those 2 locations. There is nothing to see here. Hehe. We swore to come back with friends and family again.

We decided at the last minute to go out for dinner, so we did not make reservations, but we never have ever needed to make reservations at this location. When we arrived there the sign at the door said wait to be seated there were several employees at the bar and neither one of them acknowledged us we had to ask and it seemed like we were bothering them. Someone finally acknowledge us and asked if we had reservations we said no but we had a party of 7 she said let me check and came back to us she mentioned that she spoked to her boss and they decided it was at there best interest not to seat us we were stunned because the restaurant had several tables open I work in hospitality and know you never refuse service to anyone that is paying. We have been members of there wine club but I will be cancelling my membership and our son had his wedding reception there 3 years ago and they were in town and decided they wanted to go there for dinner and purchase several bottles of wine to take home we were so embarrassed they have lost my business forever. It is incredibly disappointing to have such a negative experience at a restaurant that we have supported and enjoyed for years. I hope management takes the time to review what happened, because this is not the way loyal customers should be treated.

Nice family owned liquor store with a good selection of whiskeys and bourbons…read more Located conveniently by my favorite pool sully store, this small liquor store has reasonably priced on all but allocations (rarer bottles) and no one has reasonable prices for allocations! None the less I was able to get a bottle of Colonial Tayler at a price that did make me blush, at least not to badly. The owner is a nice fellow. If you want something special he will try to find it for you. I know I had the same offer from Spec's and Total Wines but never heard from them. Parkway found what I wanted in a few weeks and like I said offered at a somewhat unrealistic price that I caved on.

Once you get inside, there is table seating, the bar and an area with lounging chairs and sofas if you'd like to have a "living room" feel. There is also an outdoor covered patio to enjoy sitting outside when the weather permits. It was too hot for us to enjoy outside. Talking to Gary, the owner, we learned they have three events a year: anniversary event, October fest and Christmas fest. My husband and I came because he enjoys craft beers. He got "half past hazy," "saloon door ridiculous," "Sierra Nevada," and "big time stout." With the atmosphere and selection of beers, we will back. Thanks Gary for a great time!
