Hey y'all !! Back with another review ! I decided to visit this winery despite the happy hour mix up . They had a sign posted outside says 5 wine , 5 cheese 5-11pm lol idk but a bunch of us thought that meant $5 wine and cheeses .. but it was $45. I love wine so I don't mind indulging in luxury . Now the popcorn was 10/10 the Parmesan with the chili powder is a hit $9 .. you get enough to share with 2/3 ppl . The wine we got was very tasty . I loved it tbh. Now , here something I felt was very wrong. I'm not a business major but I owned a business and I guess this depends on morals . This wine in the store is $6 .. we were charged $48 .. I get making your money . I would've been okay with it being $20-25 but almost $50 which it was with tax is wild . That's 700% over its value. It was also described as very high end lol " Italian "... I've visited really expensive winery's like Stella wine bar and vineyards and the prices were not even close to these. I live in the commmunity and I'm honestly shocked but I'm not from Texas . This wouldn't fly back home . I did ask and he said he couldn't discuss because he wasn't the owner , understood Overall , place is beautiful ... very comfy . I would love to visit again maybe during happy hour to taste plenty more . Please do go though if you don't mind upscale of prices 10/10 for experience and ambiance 7/10 wine Prices 5/10 ( due to over priced vs market price)

After lunch my wife and I were out just getting out of the house for a while and I surprised her at Sonoma Wine Bar. She's a little wine girl and knew she would like this. She later said she was familiar with their other location as she once took customers there, pre-pandemic. We were greeted at the door and offered any seat we wanted. Menus and water brought over and the mgr explained their offerings, wine and food. He asked about what we like, Cabs for her and Malbec for me. I selected a flight (great deal) that he tailored to my likes and wife had a glass tailored to her likes. This is helpful as not having had any of there wines, not sure which direction to go. I wish I had taken a pic of my flight, but it was perfect. After she finished her glass and me my flight, we got a bottle of our favorite - Cocodrilo - a red blend from Argentina. Awesome place and will certainly be back. They have outdoor seating and when it cools down a bit, will make a great evening.

I visited this past Friday at 3:00 p.m. I have been to the River Oaks location and loved it so I wanted to try out their other locations. This location was nestled deep in Katy surrounded by some other businesses but close to the neighborhood . This location is perfect for those who live in Katy. I ordered the $15 Somm Flight. One major difference between this location and the other is River Oaks had a sommelier on staff so in addition to the flight you get information on the wines. I'm used to getting the names, region and notes. At this location I was just told there was a Chardonnay, Rosè and a Cabernet Sauvignon and was only given the names after asking. The wines at the other location went well together these not so much. The quality and freshness of my wines were different as well and my wines tasted like the bottle had been open for days. I must admit I'm pickier than most and I'm wine certified so these things do matter to me. One other thing to note is pizza is not served at this location. Service was great and everyone was friendly and attentive. The staff made me feel very welcome. They have a nice patio out back which would be great at night. This spot would be great for date night or when you don't want to be around a large crowd because it wasn't super crowded. I can see myself working remotely from this location. Overall I would definitely go back but it would not be my first choice. I prefer the River Oaks location.

I quickly searched on Google and found several options. Messina Hof grabbed my attention. First, it's out in the country, not in the busy Houston region. Second, it has food to pair with wine. Third, I love driving to Richmond Texas. I thought this city has a lot of charms. So, I made a reservation online. While that was not a requirement, but I would like to be reminded. We arrived at the restaurant late because I under estimated the traffic from Southwest Houston. My reservation was moved with my request, nice. The parking lot is huge and wheelchair accessible spots are on both sides of the entrance. We were one of 2 parties at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The wait staff was very cordial. She introduced us the wine tasting menu: White Wine, Red Wine, Mixed Wines, Premium, Library and Sweet Wines. My friend likes to try their sweet collection, $28. I don't drink. So, I just looked at him enjoying the wines. It started with something weak to something strong like a Port and ended with something delicious that he really liked. Each pour is 3 oz, except 1 oz of port due to high alcohol content. We bought a bottle of Orange Muscat Mistella, $25. I don't think we can find this elsewhere for this price. For people like me who don't drink, I asked for a glass of sparkling red grape juice. We also paired our drinks with a wood-fired pizza and I ordered a Burrata Salad. They are quite delightful. I was surprised as the wines are travelled from Bryan/College Station and Fredericksburg of Texas. Umm... So, this huge facility doesn't produce wines. Although, there is a grapevines out on the front. As we've been told that those grape trees will produce grapes next year. The only winery tour is at those 2 locations. There is nothing to see here. Hehe. We swore to come back with friends and family again.

This restaurant is a hit or miss, with the recent visits being just okay. Kind of unfortunate,…read moregiven the fact that the restaurant is actually very nice with a very cool patio. I'll start by saying that the food is mid. Some items are better than others. Starters: Mama Rosa meatballs - 7/10 - flavorful and rich Spinach dip - 5/10 - just okay Baked goat cheese - 5/10 - okay Fritto Misto - 7/10 - tasty They recently changed their menu and took away the lunch menu, which I actually enjoyed. Mains: Roasted Chicken Gnocchi- 7/10 - this was my go-to entree, but the last 2 times it has not been good. The last time I went the chicken was shredded and tasted off. Chicken Parmesan - 6/10 - just okay, pretty bland Spinach Bacon Alfredo - 7/10 - again, not bad and not great Pizza - I hate to say this, but they have some of the worst pizza. We have tried the pepperoni, the Douglas, the fig and pig, and they were all bad. Reminds me of school cafeteria pizza. Overall, this place could really be a hit, but the food is just mid and it seems to be getting worse every time I go. Service is the same, sometimes terrible and our waiter is nowhere to be found, and sometimes good. I do enjoy their wine. Their Sparkling Almond is amazing! They have some other great wines too. All of their Premium Dry Reds are great! and I also love their semi-sweets. So maybe just go for their wines and skip the food.

The location was really nice, the private room was great and the vibes were awesome. Unfortunately, my experience with Nikki Harris, who is also listed as a general manager, has been the complete opposite. For months, I have been asking how I can actually receive my wines, and I have the emails to prove it. I never received a single response or clear direction. The whole communication around this has been terrible. When Nikki finally did reply, it was with a rude and dismissive message, one that I've attached here for transparency, without ever acknowledging my prior outreach. This is not the way paying customers should be spoken to or treated, especially when they have been spending money and not able to get clarity on their products. I had already canceled my membership before this exchange, but had I not, I certainly would have afterward. Her tone and lack of professionalism were unacceptable, and it made clear to me that she does not understand what respectful customer service looks like. She also had to backtrack on her email without even knowing the facts. The worst! I understand that closures and operational challenges happen, but respect and clear communication should never be optional. Unfortunately, Nikki Harris demonstrated neither.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.
