We bellied up to the bar, waited for about 15 minutes, and left having never spoken to an employee, nor having even seen an employee. Toddy Oaks is a beautiful place, but the people who run it are completely fake and unpleasant…read more Leading up to our baby shower, they were incredibly welcoming, inviting, and full of promises. They acted giddy and happy to help us put everything together, reassuring us that they would be there to support us on our big day. That all changed the moment they got paid. On the day of the event, we only saw the owners twice, and neither time was to help us. When I walked up to the owner to thank him for having us, his response was completely unprofessional: "Are you kidding? This is for you, you paid for it." The only other time he approached us was to aggressively complain about someone taking up two parking spots--and it wasn't even one of our guests. They also explicitly promised they would check on us throughout the event to see if we needed refills on water or drinks. They completely ghosted. We never saw them, and our guests were left without service. It has been three weeks since the event, and we haven't received a single follow-up call or text to ask how things went. They got their money and completely checked out. Nice place, but terrible owners and even worse service. Never again will we book with them. Save your money and go somewhere where the staff actually cares about your business.

When you walk in, you go through a covered area to the bar and the sitting area, which is covered, but open. The tables are spaced apart enough to make you feel comfortable, so you can enjoy your drinks without getting accidentally elbowed by anyone consuming too much moonshine. My family frequents this place around twice a month and we love it because my kids can play the games they have there while the adults drink and they're still close enough for us to watch and make sure they're okay. I also love the fact that it's one of the few places I have felt okay with going during covid. I haven't been inside of a bar or eaten inside of a restaurant since last March and this place makes me forget about the pandemic for a few hours. You get to get out of the house and be around others in a safe setting and that's such a great feeling! There's normally a yummy food truck and some sort of live entertainment since they're only open on Saturdays and Sundays, so stop by and grab a box car punch or a wassail/apple cider with cinnamon moonshine and get a bite to eat from one of the yummy food trucks. You'll have a good time knowing you're supporting a local business and you'll be happy because you're drinking some delicious liquor.

The closest alternative is the Beer Me--a non-alcoholic beer mixed with vodka. If you're more of a beer drinker than a liquor fan, the options are pretty limited. I decided to try the Sangria, which had an unexpected flavor--more like melted grape-flavored popsicles than traditional sangria. It was interesting, though I couldn't quite decide if I liked it or not. While I wasn't completely sold on the drink I tried, I really enjoyed the vibe and setting of this place. I'd definitely come back for the experience alone.

Nice chunks of meat and chile verde authentic. I would drive back there just to have that again. If you stop in, give it a try. If it wasn't good, let me know I was way off.
