We came here on a weekend and were surprised to see that they have lunch specials every day. We had the crispy pork belly and massaman curry which were both excellent. They also have happy hour Monday to Friday which we will be trying soon.

Thai Green Tea

Quality: 9/10 Everything was cooked to perfection, but the thai green tea was a little too milky and the mango sticky rice was a bit salty. Variety: 10/10 large menu with different choices of meat and a lot of northern thai styled dishes Atmosphere/Cleanliness: 10/10 modern styled interior with fresh table top florals, did not get to see their bathroom Service: 10/10 they frequently came by to refill our waters Price: $33/person including tax and tip There's a 5% discount if you pay in cash. My top recommendations is Niyom soup and their Drunken noodle.

Lunch date with my daughter at Niyom Thai Kitchen never disappoints. She ordered the shrimp Pad Thai (which she absolutely loved), and I had a comforting beef soup with tender pieces of steak, egg noodles, and vegetables--so flavorful and satisfying. We also shared chai pancakes She enjoyed a Thai iced tea, and I opted for green tea. This time we shared dessert with the green tea ice cream. This is about our 6th time here, and at this point, we've definitely become regulars. Always delicious, always worth it.

We are Thai food lovers . We have been to most of Thai restaurants near my house except this one. Happy to be here tonight. A decent Thai restaurant near me. The smallest we'd been to. Service is fast. Less crowd during visit ( Thursday night) but noticed plenty of take outs pick up. Home cooking style is favorable to me as if I feel so at home. Foods were delicious. We loved each items we had . We were enjoying each other's company and were not rushed during our stay. Simple yet enjoyable experience here.

Salad and that dumpling

Our first time here and our whole group of 8 was very happy! Great service, nice ambiance and the food was delicious. We all had the lunch special and were not disappointed. I had massaman curry with veggies, a spring roll and salad . Delicious ginger drink. Fabulous green tea ice cream! We will be back!

Great Thai food with my lil bro. Got chicken pad Thai, minced pork with veggies over rice and some kinda duck over rice. Overall everything was A OK!

Pad Thai Lunch Special

Nice, bright interior with lots of menu options - the lunch special (which is available on weekends) is a great deal! You get a salad, generously tossed in peanut sauce, and an appetizer of your choice to start - we chose the Chive Pancakes, which were deliciously prepared. The lunch special portion of the main entree is quite generous, so be prepared to pack some leftovers to go. The Bangkok Wings were perfectly seasoned and had a great crispy exterior - would recommend ordering this as well!

Tom Yum Soup

We tried this Thai restaurant recommended by my son as apparently the spot has a high rating at on-line reviews. Went there at the peak of dinner time, looking for a parking is somewhat of a challenge. The establishment has a warm, cozy, and modern ambiance that is both casual and classy. It is bright and airy with a contemporary, minimalist style, creating a welcoming and chill atmosphere that is lively but not overly noisy. Table setting is casual. Indoor gets somewhat chilly during cold weathers most specially when their door opens and closes frequently when costumers are coming in and out. The food place has authentic and satisfactory food, including dishes like the Niyom combo appetizer, pad Thai, tom yum soup, wonton soup, green curry, crispy duck, Chinese broccoli with crispy pork over rice, pineapple fried rice and a few more. I have noted that the spice level on certain dishes like the green curry are slightly under-delivered. I have noticed an abundant amount of bone cartilage on my crispy pork dish, otherwise it taste good but not great. Food was properly spiced and decently cooked. Wait time during the busy hour was fast and efficient. The lunch specials, which include a salad, appetizer, and entrée, are considered a great value. Portion sizes are generally generous for the price. I was wearing a funny smile when I saw an ad on each table that says costumers get one free special vanilla ice cream or a green tea ice cream if they scan the QR code (in my photos) and give the restaurant a five star rating, which led me to thinking, is this the reason for the high rating? Or should I trade my rating for a freebie? I was delighted with the friendly and attentive service, the great food value, and the cozy atmosphere.

Not bad at all. Cute little Thai restaurant, good food, great lunch specials, and nice staff. Honestly had no complaints of the place itself and there seems to be something for everyone here if you love Thai food. I got the red curry, which was tasty. Although tbh, red curry makes me a bit sad in that it never comes with potatoes, but with more bamboo shoots than I would ever want to eat in a sitting. It's pretty standard for Thai-style red curries and the ingredients are fairly consistent, so it is what it is. It also came with plenty of chicken for meat eaters, although I'm also the type that would rather get fewer pieces of chicken in exchange that it's white meat, but again just my particular personal preferences. I went with the Thai dumplings for my app as I've never had it, and it seems to be ground up chicken and shrimp. Great choice for meat lovers. Next time, I'd go with the chive pancake pieces or the vegetable dumplings though. Pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles are great choices too, glad I got try a bite from my table.

Mango Sticky Rice

This place is a hike unless you're already out in eastern Queens, but it's worth the detour. No wait when we visited at 6:50 PM on a Friday! I tried: + Lychee lemonade + Chive pancake + Papaya salad + Crispy duck over rice + Tom yum soup + Mango sticky rice Top highlights were the chive pancake, tom yum soup and mango sticky rice. Also really liked the lemonade and papaya salad. The only thing that was short of amazing was the crispy duck over rice (wasn't really crispy at all) - would try the crispy duck salad instead next time. I also want to try the peanut dumplings and khao soi!

Rice, duck massaman curry, spicy, dressing from raw shrimp salad that was so good I took home bottom of bowl.

Absolutely delicious food. First time here and we will be back! Massaman curry was like a soup but did pack the flavor. Duck was crisp and ungreasy. Got the raw shrimp salad and dressing was spicy, sour, sweet... great. All very fresh. Courses bunched up a bit but I don't care given the food.

Garlic Noodle (Kua Kai)

The waiters and waitress are very friendly and checked up on us often, excellent service. The food was spectacular. Overall, highly recommend this place

Stumbled upon Niyom Thai after an appointment. This establishment is quiet but lovely, & it's definitely a hidden gem! The staff were super friendly, and the food did not disappoint. Went for lunch and grabbed their Niyom combo appetizer. This was tasty and a great way to sample a bit of everything. Their lunch menu is solid too! It includes a salad, your choice of appetizer, and an entrée. I went with the chive pancakes and the crispy duck with basil fried rice, which packed the perfect heat. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Late-night gem alert!…read more This tiny hole-in-the-wall oyster spot is where you end up when you're not ready to go home but still want something good. It feels like a total 2016 time capsule--in a comforting, nostalgic way--with soft lighting, chill energy, and zero pressure to be anything but relaxed. The main event--the oysters are fresh and hit every time, exactly what you want them to be. The cocktails? Fun, well-balanced, and dangerously easy to keep ordering. It's the kind of spot you stumble into once and then keep recommending like it's a secret--even though it deserves all the hype.

Today we were both able to make it here for happy hour, I called for a reservation and was glad that they were able to accommodate a seat for 2. However, we got here and it seemed like there was an event going on, should've been closed for just the event in my opinion. Honestly, we were very psyched to be able to make it here for happy hour. When we received our oysters, it came out in a massive size platter with two dozens in it that took up the entire table space. The waitress then brought out our 3rd dozen at the same time as well and we didn't have any space to use our mini plates. This wasn't a huge issue, it just would've been better if the timing was spaced out with when they brought out the oysters. While we were eating the oysters, it felt like a gamble 50/50 as to when you will get an oyster with extra shell pieces in your "bite" it wasn't cleaned well or shucked as well as it use to be. The environment looks the same as usual, speakeasy vibe, it was just extremely loud with the event going on and like I said, should've just closed up for a couple of hours for that event. For our service, our waitress forgot to bring extra sauce as I had already asked when she initially took our order. Another issue was we finished our oysters and expected to get our truffle fries right after, but it took about 10 min for her to get back to us and by then we were very over it being there and I asked for the check from the same waitress. She then comes back 10 min later and brings the truffle fries and at that point we were already visibly dressed and ready to go since she forgot to bring the truffle fries out within a reasonable timeframe. I personally know what bad service is and honestly, I still don't think this was the worst, but it definitely ruined our experience of coming back to the Attic for future reference. ** If you are planning to come for happy hours just remember that you risk eating oysters with extra shell pieces in your "bite." I don't know how the service is from the other workers as well, so don't base off the entire customer service experience based off this one waitress.

The inside is absolutely beautiful and while they have tables, they also have more traditional floor seating. We got a couple bites of food to eat, some of their tea, and some cocktails. Their food was very mediocre, at best. While the persimmon cake SEEMED to be made in house, it was very clear that everything off their food menu required minimal preparation (ie. for the dumplings, it was just har cow). I also thought their cocktails were okay, and out of the three we got, none stood out to me. I did enjoy their tea, however. But, it was also fairly expensive for what it was (~$50). Overall, I thought this spot was okay for the price and I'm not sure I would return.

We came with a fairly large group and ordered several teas and snacks to share amongst us. There were several options for the flavors of tea and each one had different benefits as well. I loved all of them, particularly the fruitier ones. As for snacks, we had this fried taro snack that had a crispy biscuit outer layer that was delicious. It was a bit of a sweet & savory mix, but not strong in either sweet or salty flavors. There was also this persimmon snack that was filled with nuts and other things. It was slightly sweet, very unique, and both paired well as a tea time snack. They're also open until 11:30pm! So if you want to skip the bar, I'd recommend checking out this tea spot for a nice hang out.

I arrived at 6pm and there were a few customers already dining, by the time it was 7pm, it was almost full. Was in a nice group who, like me, enjoys a place with great food. We started with soft shell crabs, edemame, chicken katsu, gyoza, and lots of drinks. Peter, our bartender, was awesome. As you will see in my photos, he can make some well adorned drinks and he is a nice guy as well. I pretty much stuck to a smooth Nigori Sake they stock. I chose the omakase dinner which was fabulous. The sushi is very fresh and it just keeps on coming. Meanwhile Felicia, our server, was constantly checking in to see if everything is going well. She had a easy going quality about her, and very calm and smooth in bringing our meals. This turned out to be quite a nice night. Wabi Nori is a great date place, or a place to bring a family. We tried Kaizen before and the quality/atmosphere is very similar so they probably have the same suppliers and maybe even same owners just rebranding. We ordered 2 mixed drinks from happy hour and they were fine but very sweet and not much alcohol. We also got the 6 handroll combo that came with spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallop, crab and lobster. I asked for less rice but the waitress said they don't put a lot of rice so I let it be. It was A LOT of rice. We also couldn't taste the difference between the rolls because all the fish was super chopped up and heavily seasoned so everything was mushy and tasted the same. Although service was good, we won't be back and can't recommend this spot :(

The real star of the night was Joyce behind the bar. She's the kind of bartender who instantly makes you feel welcome, like you've been a regular for years even if it's your first visit. She knows her drinks, makes amazing recommendations, and somehow keeps the energy fun and relaxed even when the bar gets busy. You can tell she genuinely cares about people having a good experience, and that kind of service is rare. Her gin and tonic was perfectly balanced -- crisp, refreshing, and honestly one of the best I've had. And the green tea shots? Dangerous in the best way possible. Smooth, flavorful, and way too easy to keep ordering because they go down so well. Joyce makes them with consistency and a little extra flair that makes the whole experience feel special. Food-wise, I highly recommend the pork dumplings -- flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the ideal pairing with drinks. Everything just worked together: great food, great drinks, and even better hospitality. Joyce truly elevates the entire atmosphere at Firefly, turning a normal night out into something memorable.
