High tide smash burger, steak frites, nick's cove crab louis
Izzy R.

Fresh seafood was excellent from the start. From the juicy serving of crab from the salad to delicious fish and chips, every part of our meal was delicious! I love how local the ingredients are, and it shows throughout each dish in their menu. Service was very attentive in assisting us with our food. However, when we first got served, I noticed the table wasn't fully set up and we didn't have any napkin or cutlery available. It was just menus stacked on a clipboard. We did have a dog with us and wanted an inside table due to the wind, and it felt like seating us was a bit of a "here damn" table. Regardless, our seating and view was very calming with the small waves. We still had a relaxing time out of the city and even got to see some wildlife out on the dock. Come here with family or a bae, it is a beautiful vibe!

Was good. Fish n chips, oysters, and Thai crab roll were delicious. But I definitely did not feel well after I ate it.

Our go to spot for lunch when we're cruising the coast. Beautiful setting, rooms if you need one and the food is amazing. Fresh oysters and we recommend the bbq'd one. A dozen is never enough. Fish and chips and smash burger are excellent! Staff is friendly with prompt service. Full bar and dog friendly outside.

Soft-Serve Strauss Ice Cream in a Blue Corn Cone

The restaurant offers a delightful view of Tomales Bay and is open seven days a week, unlike many of its neighboring restaurants. We happened to wander to the end of the adjoining pier while we waited for our meal, which ended up being a top notch idea. Not only is there a darling, maritime-themed cottage, but we found a selection of board games that were up for grabs and we borrowed Yahtzee! to entertain ourselves during our meal. We weren't especially hungry, so we opted for a selection of sides, plus my friend is a fan of mussels, so we tried their weekly special. While seafood isn't my usual preference, the broth was delicious with a warm heat to it. Next up were the Mushroom à La Grecque, which I found on the sides menu. Simple, but tasty. The Grilled Asparagus could've learned something from the simplicity of the mushroom dish. It's trying to do so much. The crumbled hard-boiled egg and the marcona almonds, which lost most of their crunch. The gremolata wasn't noticeable and the seasonings weren't a garnish as much as a layer atop the vegetables. I ordered asparagus because I actually enjoy it and it was smothered. On the other hand, I love Strauss Dairy's everything. Nick's Cove offers a lavender or blue corn cone for their soft-serve ice cream and a number of other delicious options to get your ice cream on after your main course. I went with the swirl of vanilla and chocolate and was not disappointed! I strongly recommend making the stop. The drive out to Marshall is beautiful - anytime of the year and this is a special place to linger and enjoy the region.

The food was amazing. The oysters 1000/10. Everything we had was delicious. The service was great as well. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The place is beautiful, the view is amazing. There is a boardwalk next to it.

Came here on a Friday night and really enjoyed our dinner! We were promptly seated upon arrival. We ordered the clam chowder, crab Louie salad, and the King salmon entree. We received the clam chowder and crab Louie salad first. The clam chowder was a little salty, but adding the oyster crackers helped soak salt up. The salad was very tasty and had a good amount of crab. The salmon was cooked perfectly and loved the sauce that came with it. I enjoyed the food and if ever back in the area, will definitely stop by!

Great food, great drinks, great staff and perfect location. Can you ask for more? Their Tonic drink on the menu is top tier. Blew my mind. Fish and Chips were solid, can't really go wrong with that combo.

The restaurant is located right on the water, with beautiful views and a pier you can walk on! We ordered a Chesapeake chowder, fried seafood mix, some fresh oysters, a dungeons crab salad, and some fries. The chowder was light and vinegary, and it had nice chunks of ham in it. I liked the variety of the fried seafood mix which included fried sage and lemon slices, but the batter was pretty oily. The Crab Louie salad had a decent amount of crab, but was pretty expensive. My favorite dish were the fries which were perfectly crispy and had a lot of lemon zest shaved on top.

We stopped here for lunch on a sunny day. We sat outside where we had nice views of Tomales bay. We had 6 oysters which were good. My son had the fish and chips, and he really liked them, he said they were freshly made. My wife had the mac and cheese, it was delicious. The beer was cold and the service was good.

Crab Louie

Ambiance and views are great. There are several tables for two along the pier. I noticed that a dog was at almost every table. Not always a good idea. They should be spaced out. Food was another issue. Very disappointing. My husband ordered the fish and chips. I didn't think it was anything special. Just so so. The clam chowder was good. I liked the crispy bacon in it. The crab Louis was awful. I really should have sent it back. Normally, Louis comes with thousand island dressing. This tasted like a vinaigrette, which made it vinegary and bright, as if it masked the crab. There was no bread served with it and for the hefty price, it simply wasn't worth it. Service was okay.

I cant think of another place thats an hours drive away that we go to more frequently...that should really speak to the experience at Nicks Cove. Great food, an amazing view and friendly service.

Ask the Community - Nick's Cove

Do you take reservations? Here on yelp it says yes but I cant find it anywhere on the website.

The restaurant takes reservations fro 10 or more guests over phone call. Otherwise there is plenty…

What time is happy hour?

We were there in Aug 22. There was no happy hour or even cocktails. Beer in a can and eat outside. Pick up and bus yourself. Skip it and go to Tony's.

Is the restaurant still cafeteria style or have you started being a fine dining restaurant with table service again? If not, when will that happen so we can start going back for a culinary experience rather than just a view?

We were just there 12/3/21 and they were serving regular dinners. We didn't see anyone in the dining area by the bar but did see people outside dining.

Is Nicks Cove pet friendly in their outdoor seating area? We have small dogs and want to stop there for lunch during our visit.

Yes, they are pet-friendly. And it's pawwwwfect for small dogs!

Do they offer corkage?

Corkage is 20$, however we will wave it if you buy a bottle of our wine.

What are your hours for lunch so we can order off the lunch menu rather than the short menu?

11am-3pm

Hey there Party People,…read more Was running a muck on the coast over the weekend decided to try the Station House Restaurant in Point Reyes Station. The restaurant was nice and clean and the service was great Unfortunately, we were there for Brunch so the menu was limited. A real shame since the full menu had a real nice variety. My first bit of advice is don't go for Brunch you will be disappointed with the selection I'm sure. We started with Garlic Bread, it was more like a garlic wedge. Seemed silly to me since you only had flavor on the sides so 1/3 of the bread was just sourdough, not worth the money it cost. We also got the House Basket with cornbread and a croissant type pastry. The cornbread was very very dense and gritty. Thankfully the honey butter gave it flavor. Hubby really enjoyed the croissant they were buttery and soft. We both had the Station House Burger as the meal. The Burger was cooked exactly as we asked and tasted delicious. I loved the fact that it came with pickled red onions my favorite. It added the perfect tang to the burger. The fries were skinny...close to McDonalds type..but they were a little soft texture wise. I like my fries to have a little crunch. They don't carry regular Ranch Dressing here so we had to settle for the "Feta Ranch". Now Feta Cheese can be very aggressive on the palate but it actually worked here. It didn't work for the fries but it was awesome on the Burger. Be kind to one another

With a wasabi and fennel infused vodka, it was too unique not to be curious about. Upon arriving and looking over the menu, SEVERAL cocktails stood out to me as intriguing to try. I started with the Wabi Sabi which was as interesting as it sounded. While I didn't pick up on fennel, you do pick up on the wasabi, but in the most subtle of ways. Think maybe lime/ginger sparkling water with just a hint of spice. Refreshing and different for sure. I also tried the Mucha Lucha w/ cilantro infused Siete Leguas Blanco, chorizo infused mezcal and cubes made of hot sauce that make the drink have a bit more of a kick as you allow them to melt. I did the HH chips and guac which was also accompanied with a tasty Chipotle sauce. Damn good actually. It'd be excellent served in a variety of ways. The deviled eggs aren't going to blow your mind, but I like that you get 4 different ones- and simply because I love eggs, I'd order them again. (They just wouldn't be a dish that brings me back). The bartender was great- helpful and attentive, even as more people began to filter in for an early afternoon. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Napa to check out some other menu options.
