    Fish tacos

My husband and I came here for the first time today after visiting point Reyes. Everything we tried was absolutely incredible. The fish tacos are to die for! The heart desire is also incredible but I didn't get a picture unfortunately. I can't recommend this place enough.

Half dozen garlic butter oysters and half dozen bbq oysters

Great ambience, friendly staff, big portion for the pastrami fries, and the baked oysters were yummy. The garlic ones were tastier than the bbq ones. We both had a nice beer and I appreciated that the bartender was happy to let me try a couple first to make sure I liked it. Will be back

    Cheeseburger with garlic fries

First time here. The last time I had dinner in this neck of the woods, there were two Czech restaurants in Inverness. This is a cool little place along Drake. After we sat down, I really got the sense that we were the only out-of-towners in the restaurant. I liked that and would expect it on a rainy Saturday night. We got our food very quickly. My daughter had a cheeseburger with garlic fries and I had the "Heart's Desire" tri-tip sandwich with salad. I know my daughter was hungry but I've never seen her eat a burger so quickly. My sandwich was tasty also but needed more BBQ sauce. They have a decent small selection of beers on tap and a few different wines by the glass. Good, solid meal. I will return. Note: For some reason, the plates, cups and utensils were all disposable (paper plates, plastic utensils, plastic cups). Strange thing for the progressive, environmentally-friendly West Marin.

BBQ oysters, four BBQ sauce, two garlic butter. Yum!

Comfortable place, great sandwich, Pliny on tap, friendly waitress, and tasty BBQ oysters, which are not that common in an oyster-filled area. Same menu on the deli next door (Inverness Park Market).

After a lovely four mile hike in Point Reyes, we needed food and we came to the right place. Luckily found an outside table in the lick of time and had some amazing fish and chips! Loved the clam chowder too, and several beers on tap. Service was spotty but it was a busy weekend so that's understandable. Will be back!

My friends and I popped in The Tap Room during a camping trip. The bartender/server gentleman was so welcoming and sat us at a perfect indoor table, slightly secluded, which was good cuz conversation can get loud with six of us. We ordered garlic butter and bbq oysters, reuben fries, fish tacos, and fish and chips. All of us agreed that the food and beer was delicious. So much that we agreed to make this our routine outing during our annual camp trip. See y'all next April!

    Wednesday sushi menu

We came here on a Wednesday night and we're disappointed that most of the dishes that we had looked up here on yelp were not available. Turns out their pub style menu is only available on Fridays and Saturdays. Wednesday is sushi night, other nights have other themes. We ended up staying and ordering sushi, since we didn't have time to travel back to Point Reyes Station to find other food. It was totally fine. I'm sure it would be better if it had been what we wanted. Posting the menu so hopefully others will be more prepared! They also didn't have any ciders on tap.

What a great little spot my mom and I stumbled upon while staying out on the Tomales Bay. We stayed at the Tomales Bay resort the night before our venture out on the water the next morning. We were looking for a good place to grab a bite and beer and found the Tap Room straight down the road. They had local halibut fish and chips as a special and when I tell you that these were the best fish and chips I've ever tasted.. they were the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. We then split their nachos with carnitas which was another amazing bite. The bartender taking care of us was so friendly and accommodating by letting us try a taste of each beer of our interest until we found the one we wanted to commit to and putting the Warriors game on the TV for us right when we requested it. Overall, we were incredibly happy with the quality of food, service, and vibe of the joint that we went back the next day after our kayaking trip. My mom got a mushroom sandwich and I got their fish tacos. We both raved to each other about how amazing our meals were and we again got amazing service by the wonderful lady taking care of us. I will definitely be visiting again when I'm back in the area!

Ask the Community - Tap Room

When did this open? What beers are served? Is the food from next door?

We have a rotating selection of craft beers on tap. Inverness Park Market and the Tap Room share a kitchen, and the Tap Room menu has some items from the IP Market Delicatessen menu, but many other dishes that are only available at the Tap Room.

Wearing a Hawaiian shirt with cactuses all over it & cassette tape tattoo , really awkward encounter. He kept trying to be funny, but it came off really rude and condescending. I took the high road complimented his tattoo. It seemed to go better, but he was really standoffish and just almost openly. Hostile for no reason. I still left a tip. The other guy had a lot of hip pain. I did have a really nice visit on April 7Th. That server that day was really into the music. There was two Australian guys at the counter. We had a blast but lately the place is just a dump. The side room is just completely a mess. Needs to get blown out with a blower. Nobody's wiping the tables down the grouchy condescending server was a huge turn off. The dreamland spaceport 9% that I had was way better in April now it just tasted really subpar. Stale even. I just slammed it down and got another beer reverse funnel was way more crisp and delicious. Come to think of it the last couple visits I had at the palace or barrels in Petaluma wasn't that great either. The staff just doesn't really care. Hopefully whoever's running this place can turn around. Bring back servers that are fun and care.

We happened to wander to the end of the adjoining pier while we waited for our meal, which ended up being a top notch idea. Not only is there a darling, maritime-themed cottage, but we found a selection of board games that were up for grabs and we borrowed Yahtzee! to entertain ourselves during our meal. We weren't especially hungry, so we opted for a selection of sides, plus my friend is a fan of mussels, so we tried their weekly special. While seafood isn't my usual preference, the broth was delicious with a warm heat to it. Next up were the Mushroom à La Grecque, which I found on the sides menu. Simple, but tasty. The Grilled Asparagus could've learned something from the simplicity of the mushroom dish. It's trying to do so much. The crumbled hard-boiled egg and the marcona almonds, which lost most of their crunch. The gremolata wasn't noticeable and the seasonings weren't a garnish as much as a layer atop the vegetables. I ordered asparagus because I actually enjoy it and it was smothered. On the other hand, I love Strauss Dairy's everything. Nick's Cove offers a lavender or blue corn cone for their soft-serve ice cream and a number of other delicious options to get your ice cream on after your main course. I went with the swirl of vanilla and chocolate and was not disappointed! I strongly recommend making the stop. The drive out to Marshall is beautiful - anytime of the year and this is a special place to linger and enjoy the region.
