The food was amazing. The oysters 1000/10. Everything we had was delicious. The service was great as well. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The place is beautiful, the view is amazing. There is a boardwalk next to it.

Came here on a Friday night and really enjoyed our dinner! We were promptly seated upon arrival. We ordered the clam chowder, crab Louie salad, and the King salmon entree. We received the clam chowder and crab Louie salad first. The clam chowder was a little salty, but adding the oyster crackers helped soak salt up. The salad was very tasty and had a good amount of crab. The salmon was cooked perfectly and loved the sauce that came with it. I enjoyed the food and if ever back in the area, will definitely stop by!

Great food, great drinks, great staff and perfect location. Can you ask for more? Their Tonic drink on the menu is top tier. Blew my mind. Fish and Chips were solid, can't really go wrong with that combo.

The restaurant is located right on the water, with beautiful views and a pier you can walk on! We ordered a Chesapeake chowder, fried seafood mix, some fresh oysters, a dungeons crab salad, and some fries. The chowder was light and vinegary, and it had nice chunks of ham in it. I liked the variety of the fried seafood mix which included fried sage and lemon slices, but the batter was pretty oily. The Crab Louie salad had a decent amount of crab, but was pretty expensive. My favorite dish were the fries which were perfectly crispy and had a lot of lemon zest shaved on top.

We stopped here for lunch on a sunny day. We sat outside where we had nice views of Tomales bay. We had 6 oysters which were good. My son had the fish and chips, and he really liked them, he said they were freshly made. My wife had the mac and cheese, it was delicious. The beer was cold and the service was good.

Bbq oysters, but not the original

Love the location and the clam chowder. The new boathouse is really nice. What happened last Friday? Bbq oysters - one raw, 2 burned, no napkins or silverware. Warning - the $35 seafood roll - no curry or coconut, mostly aioli with a sprig of basil and cilantro. Just kind of extra disappointed cause it was my bd lunch. Hope this is just a one-off and not a trend as we love to dock and lunch here

Ambiance and views are great. There are several tables for two along the pier. I noticed that a dog was at almost every table. Not always a good idea. They should be spaced out. Food was another issue. Very disappointing. My husband ordered the fish and chips. I didn't think it was anything special. Just so so. The clam chowder was good. I liked the crispy bacon in it. The crab Louis was awful. I really should have sent it back. Normally, Louis comes with thousand island dressing. This tasted like a vinaigrette, which made it vinegary and bright, as if it masked the crab. There was no bread served with it and for the hefty price, it simply wasn't worth it. Service was okay.

I cant think of another place thats an hours drive away that we go to more frequently...that should really speak to the experience at Nicks Cove. Great food, an amazing view and friendly service.

Do you take reservations? Here on yelp it says yes but I cant find it anywhere on the website.

    What time is happy hour?

We were there in Aug 22. There was no happy hour or even cocktails. Beer in a can and eat outside. Pick up and bus yourself. Skip it and go to Tony's.

Is the restaurant still cafeteria style or have you started being a fine dining restaurant with table service again? If not, when will that happen so we can start going back for a culinary experience rather than just a view?

We were just there 12/3/21 and they were serving regular dinners. We didn't see anyone in the dining area by the bar but did see people outside dining.

Is Nicks Cove pet friendly in their outdoor seating area? We have small dogs and want to stop there for lunch during our visit.

Yes, they are pet-friendly. And it's pawwwwfect for small dogs!

    Do they offer corkage?

Corkage is 20$, however we will wave it if you buy a bottle of our wine.

What are your hours for lunch so we can order off the lunch menu rather than the short menu?

I thought it was going to be a cliche cheesy over-the-top tourist restaurant, but it was the complete opposite. Does it get busy and filled with tourists, yes, but the decor is pleasant, the wait staff attentive, and the food and drinks were on point! We were both in that state where you're not super hungry but you should probably eat something. We got well made/ balanced cocktails, shrimp cocktail with what I believe were fried crackers, (their cocktail sauce is the real deal with real horseradish in it, this is the way cocktail sauce should be, other restaurants take notes). We also got raw oysters (glad to see they had a seperate menu for them listing species, size, etc), their namesake Oyster Rockerfeller (a bit of a let down unfortunately), my girl got the crab gazpacho (very tomato forward with big bits of real crab) and I got the Cajun Blackened Shrimp & Grits (Big Bay/ southern flavors in this, huge shrimp and creamy comforting grits). The irony is not lost on me, we ordered a lot of food for not being super hungry but it was well worth it! While there are many seafood restaurants in/ around Bodega Bay, this one is not to be missed!

Served raw on ice with mignonette or broiled with garlic butter. Ordered each half. Raw was very good, but broiled with garlic butter is phenomenal. Wagyu skirt steak $38 (5/5): Akaushi beef, green beans, marble potatoes, spring onions, truffle butter & demi glace. The steak was incredibly tender, and the outer sear was peppered. The sauce tasted like a wine reduction, and it definitely felt heavy. The tiny onions and greens were a nice touch, wish there was a side of mashed potatoes but great regardless. There were two other tables of customers in the dining room and now a single clean table. Every other customer-free table in that room was stacked with dirty dishes left by previous customers. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't offer the same full menu you'll find at other Hog Island locations. I also expected the oysters here to feel noticeably fresher since they're served right at the source, but I honestly found them to be just as fresh--and sometimes more thoughtfully presented--at their other locations. That said, the beautiful setting and overall experience still make this location well worth visiting at least once, especially on a sunny day with good company.
