Beautiful day!
Christine L.

Fish n chips were bland and definitely needed more sauce and seasoning. Unfortunately, all the hot sauces on the table weren't hot at all. The raw oysters were just ok, but the grilled oysters were 100x better. The clam chowder was good. Overall, it's definitely on the pricier side for mid-tasting oysters, but there aren't many nearby options. The patio has a beautiful backdrop, although it was way too windy to comfortably sit outside. The customer service was Great, but I wish the food was more memorable.

Fantastic views and experience right by the water. The oysters were amazing - super fresh and well prepared. The outdoor picnic tables provide a peaceful calm setting that lets you really enjoy the coastal air. The staff is really quick to churn out orders, very friendly too.

Been here a couple times and this place is never a disappointment, well maybe the parking but patience will pay off. My wife "won" a gift certificate to Fishetarian at the Farm Bureau Crab Feed and we were excited to be able to use it yesterday. We ordered clam chowder, fish and shrimp tacos, fish and chips, lobster roll and fried prawns. All very good but my favs - the chowder, fish and chips and fish tacos. We sat down by the water. A little chilly but beautiful view. Expect a lot of people but the staff moves things along pretty efficiently. Like I said earlier the food is worth the wait.

Only a few places open in Bodega Bay area on a Wednesday after hanging out at the windy beach that were family friendly. This place is excellent. We had the oysters that were smothered and butter and chives. 10 out of 10 We also got the clam chowder bread bowls We never really set our expectations very high when it comes to clam chowder bread bowls whenever there's outside seating But wow delicious. 9 out of 10 totally worth it pretty reasonable too for a family of 3 $100 ..

fish and chips & grilled oysters

Had a quick trip to bodega bay and stopped here for lunch. Ordered a fish and chips and grilled oysters. The fish and chips were different than traditional, it had a panko outer crust so it had a little more crunch than usual. Fries were solid. The grilled ousters we ordered with butter and garlic, no complaints. They had outside seating and you order inside where they also have different souvenirs you could buy. A little on the pricier side but that's to be expected when ordering fresh seafood in Bodega Bay :)

Octopus salad!

When in Bodega Bay, do as they Bodegans do. Oysters by the bay, anyone? When you're ever along the northern coast, seafood is what you get when you're here. After a hike at the Estero Americano Preserve, my hubs and I were famished so we saw what was around the area. And this spot popped up. It was maybe a 5min drive from the trailhead, parking was easy. It's counter service so you just fall in line, order at the register and they hand you a beeper to let you know when your food is ready. We ordered the +octopus salad (delicious dressing) with a cup of +clam chowder ($5 more and you can add crab). But the piece de resistance *chef's kiss* had to be the +grilled oysters with garlic butter. For $25, you get a half dozen of these large fresh oysters plucked out in the bay smothered in garlic butter. We opted for warm sliced +sourdough bread to soak up the remaining juices. Highly rec stopping by if you happen to be in the area. This absolutely satisfied our hungry tummies.

Come here about 15-20 minutes before they open at 11AM. You'll be able to find easy parking, and we were also second in line to order! On our way up to Fort Bragg, the Fishetarian was one of our stops to grab lunch. We ordered the fish and chips with beer batter and panko, and the grilled oyster. Everything was suuuuper fresh and so delicious! The breading on the fish added a nice crunch and the rockfish was suuuper flakey and delicate. We ordered the garlic and butter and Maui wowie sweet chili grilled oysters and those were really tasty as well. We able to sit outside in the far back area with benches. We sat in front of the area overlooking the water, and it was peaceful and quiet. We were surprised with so many customers coming in, no one was sitting at the area except for us.

Took a scenic route on our way from San Fransisco up to Santa Rosa, which took us through Bodega Bay. We stopped at the Fishetarian on a Thursday afternoon for a quick lunch. There was no wait to order. There is both outside and inside seating. More outside than anything else. If you are going when it is cold, you will want to sit inside. The restaurant is also the gift shop, with lots of souvenir-type items. My wife and I shared some fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder. Both were made fresh and served hot. We enjoyed our meal very much. It's wasn't "the best ever", but it was good. The clam chowder was not as thick as I would have liked. It was a little bit on the watery side, but still was hot and tasted just fine. Something that was pretty unique were the drinks. All of the drinks (soda) were the same price and you could select from many different flavors. They did not have your normal Pepsi or Coke but instead some unique soda flavors. That was pretty cool and allowed us to try something different.

Stopped by Fishetarian Fish Market in Bodega Bay while out on the coast. Great location right by the water and definitely a busy spot !! We ordered online about an hour ahead, but still had to wait another 20 to 30 minutes once we got there. Staff looked a bit flustered, but it was clearly very busy so it was understandable. Inside was pretty loud as well, just something to expect during peak times. Fish & Chips The fish was okay. A bit on the flakier side and not as moist as I was hoping for, but still decent overall. Fries were standard and did the job. Grilled Oysters (Garlic Butter) These were the highlight for me. Buttery, garlicky, and flavorful. Simple and done well. Overall, it is a solid stop if you are already in Bodega Bay and craving seafood. I would come back if I am in the area again, but probably would not make a long drive just for it.

Grilled Oysters were great! Personal favorite was the Maui Wowie sauce but you can grab it on the side and put it on your raw oyster or have it as a dipping sauce. Fish & Chips werent anything crazy but regardless still really good AND FRESH!

Nice and quick over-the-counter fish and chips spot that serves more than the average seafood fry place! The default for fish and chips is crumbed, which is super crispy, and comes with many choices with either a full on order of fish, or half and half with calamari and other choices. They have beer and wine, and hot chocolate! The service is quick! You can either order on a kiosk outside, or go inside and order in person next to the pick up window. It's basically an open air restaurant with benches and tables outside with some heaters, and they also have a barn out back to stave away the wind. Very delicious, very casual, and hits the spot!

Lobster roll - clam chowder and 'crab cakes'
Lisa H.

Order at the counter and take a seat! We loved the chowder and lobster roll - the 'crab cakes' are more like 'fried crab balls' - we didn't love those. The service is great staff is very friendly and the view is great on the wharf. I would stick with fish tacos which is what we usually order - the lobster roll had a rich sauce that I would have on the side if I ordered again.

The two restaurants are nextdoor to each other by the harbor. There's street parking - the parking lots are limited so we just parked in the street instead. Spud Point is casual. You wait in the line and order at the window. Then they bring the food out to you. There are some picnic tables and sunshades out front. Very easy and no pretense here! Here's what we ordered: Italian sourdough French bread $5 Red chowder $10 White chowder $10 2 crab sandwiches $20 each Albacore tuna sandwich $11 When ordering the bread, make sure you get some butter. The bread was absolutely delicious with crusty exterior and chewy inside. Perfect accompaniment with the chowder! We loved though New England white chowder. The Manhattan red chowder was fine, but we barely had half of it and took the rest home. The crab sandwich was great too! Tuna sandwich was good! There are other foods for sale at the order window - bags of chips, Crustable sandwiches. Can't wait to come back here! Wish I had the cooler with me to buy live crabs!!! BTW, I didn't see a bathroom here. But Fisherman's Cove (nextdoor) has one. It's just one unisex bathroom so there's a long line!

They have seating inside and outside. My mother had been craving fried oysters so I took her here. For some reason, not many places have fried oysters. I think this was the only place in the Bodega Bay area. Not sure why that is. Anyway, the oysters were 5 stars for my mom. They came with a dipping sauce. I think it was the garlic aioli. I ordered the chicken sandwich special that comes with chipotle aioli. I traded that for the garlic aioli. It was loaded with thin slices of chicken breast. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, but it was perfect for the sandwich. When we first ordered, it was Ash who took our order. He's so energetic and friendly. He is part of what makes this place special. They have an attention to detail and service that reminds of the Garden Cafe in San Rafael. That's what my boyfriend and I ordered, and were satisfied (not to mention fueled for our hike that afternoon). I agree with other reviews that say it's pricey for what you get, but you'll still have a satisfying meal. The crab sandwich is real fresh, I kinda wish they toasted the bread, but would still recommend it. It came with a few slices of carrot that seemed random IMO, but still ate it. Also, you can't go wrong with the fish and chips! Service was straight-forward - you order and pay at the counter, then take your number to seat where your food is delivered. Most people were sitting outside on the benches, which is where you wanna be, especially on a sunny day with a view of the water. But there are also chairs and tables inside. Parking can be tight around here. The lot outside the restaurant is very small, and the street/back parking signs can be confusing. (There were cars parking in zones clearly marked with "No Parking" signs.)

My favorite chowder in Bodega Bay was Spud's, but I think this one knocked it out. I enjoyed the smoky flavor to it! Our kids aren't seafood fans so I really appreciated their kids menu that had butter & cheese pasta. Their Bloody Mary was solid as well! The following day, we had the Wedge Salad and calamari along with a bowl of chowder. The salad was crisp and the combination of ingredients was perfect with all the textures and flavors of the bacon, cherry tomatoes, shoe string onion rings, and blue cheese dressing...the best wedge salad I've ever had! I loved the lightness of the calamari batter as well! This is a nicely decorated and clean restaurant. It was romantic with the view of the bay. I felt the customer service was a little off, but eventually our servers were nicer as both lunches went on. There was a Hispanic man that was very friendly and kept our water filled. We enjoyed talking to him. The customers sure were friendly with lots of smiles towards our kids. This is my favorite Bodega Bay restaurant. I look forward to bringing family and friends.
