Exactly the casual dining you are looking for while driving up the coast! This place has tables inside and out, and a walk up counter for ordering. The service is friendly and helpful. But the seafood! Clam chowder, fish and chips, lobster rolls, shrimp po boys, and countless crab options!
I ordered the halibut and chips. I added two extra tartar sauce for 50¢ each. Then requested it to-go which he rung up adding 50¢. The halibut was extremely dry and the fries a tad overdone. The extra sauces weren't filled completely. Super disappointing $30 bucks.
This restaurant has a relaxed, laid-back coastal vibe that makes it a great stop. Calamari and oysters are almost always my go-to whenever I'm near the coast, so we had to order both. We tried the butter garlic oysters, though I didn't really taste the butter or garlic. Even so, the oysters were enjoyable. The fries were perfectly crispy, just the way I like them, and the calamari was tender, flavorful, and well seasoned. They have a good amount of food selection. Our food arrived quickly, and both the server and cashier were warm and friendly.

A year later, I returned with my friend Jayneen for a girls' trip, and this spot was just as amazing as I remembered! The BBQ oysters are an absolute must-order. There are so many delicious flavor options to choose from, and each one was packed with flavor. We also ordered the halibut fish and chips, which were outstanding. The coating was perfectly crispy, and the fish was flaky, fresh, and cooked to perfection. My friends chose the halibut fish tacos, which looked amazing and are a great lighter, healthier option. Since we were celebrating, I decided to splurge and order a bottle of bubbly. They offer a smaller bottle for around $50, but I got the standard bottle for $90, but it was the perfect addition to our meal and made the occasion feel extra special. The food, atmosphere, and beautiful Bodega Bay setting make this a place I would gladly return to again and again. If you're visiting the Bodega Bay area, this is definitely a must-stop destination!
Stopped at Fisherman's Cove on our way out of town to grab a bite to eat. When we first drove by, the lines were super long, but by the time we got there they had shortened quite a bit, and the line moves really fast anyway. The employee helping us was super nice and had such a good vibe. We ordered the lobster roll sandwich, clam chowder, and the garlic butter oysters. Everything tasted super fresh and was so good. The clam chowder was especially different in the best way it had this smoky flavor I've never had before, and it was absolutely delicious.
Lunch at Fisherman's Cove was great start to a weekend road trip! Driving oceanside, you can't help but want a crab sandwich and fish and chips. That's what my boyfriend and I ordered, and were satisfied (not to mention fueled for our hike that afternoon). I agree with other reviews that say it's pricey for what you get, but you'll still have a satisfying meal. The crab sandwich is real fresh, I kinda wish they toasted the bread, but would still recommend it. It came with a few slices of carrot that seemed random IMO, but still ate it. Also, you can't go wrong with the fish and chips! Service was straight-forward - you order and pay at the counter, then take your number to seat where your food is delivered. Most people were sitting outside on the benches, which is where you wanna be, especially on a sunny day with a view of the water. But there are also chairs and tables inside. Parking can be tight around here. The lot outside the restaurant is very small, and the street/back parking signs can be confusing. (There were cars parking in zones clearly marked with "No Parking" signs.)
Only tried the crab sandwich here so that's all I can review but would be interested in coming back for some of the other food. The sandwich is expensive at $30 but was pretty decently sized and had a generous portion of crab in it. The ciabatta bread was buttery and not soggy but could be toastier. There were large chunks of crab inside and it tasted very fresh. MUCH better than the crab sandwich next door, minimal line and super friendly staff. The fish and chips looked really good. Definitely would come back for the crab sandwich in the future!
You have to eat here! This is practically next door to Spud Point Crab Company and they have similar yet different menus. Eat at both! You order inside, pay, they give you a number and then they bring the food out to you. Plenty of seating inside and outside. We had the following: 12 Oysters on a half shell $38.46 Crab sandwich $29.11 Lobster roll $29.11 Calamari & chips $19.75 Fish & chips $20.79 I know these prices look different from the menu pictures I posted! These prices are on the receipt! Everything was delicious! Honestly loved all of it! They fried stuff really well. The crab sandwich, the lobster roll, oysters were all superb! I saw several people eating the Portuguese fish stew. Next time, I'll order that!

Every once in a while, I go to a restaurant that knows how to do it. This was one of those places. It's not the fanciest place, but it's perfect for a fishing town. They have seating inside and outside. My mother had been craving fried oysters so I took her here. For some reason, not many places have fried oysters. I think this was the only place in the Bodega Bay area. Not sure why that is. Anyway, the oysters were 5 stars for my mom. They came with a dipping sauce. I think it was the garlic aioli. I ordered the chicken sandwich special that comes with chipotle aioli. I traded that for the garlic aioli. It was loaded with thin slices of chicken breast. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, but it was perfect for the sandwich. When we first ordered, it was Ash who took our order. He's so energetic and friendly. He is part of what makes this place special. They have an attention to detail and service that reminds of the Garden Cafe in San Rafael. I will be back even though I have to drive all the way from Novato. :)

Inside, the place has a seafood shack vibe - nothing fancy, a little rustic but very comfortable. When we arrived, it was busy, and although the small parking lot was full, we were able to find street parking behind the restaurant. The line moved quickly, and although they offered a variety of seafood, we were there for the fish and chips and the clam chowder. After ordering, we grabbed a picnic table and enjoyed the view of Bodega bay. Our food arrived quickly. The clam chowder was the first surprise. It had a lot of flavor and depth. Clam chowder is something I order often, and this is one I would happily order again and again. The fish and chips were also excellent -- hot and crispy, with fresh, moist fish inside and the fries were crispy.
This place rakes in the money! And for good reason! Fresh seafood is one of this rarities that so many people travel to have. Even with the advent of restaurants and shipping technology, there is something so special about having seafood miles from where it was caught. This is one of a few places that come highly recommended in Bodega Bay. The staff are constantly working, taking and pushing out orders. Any to-go materials are available inside. We sat outside in the nice weather with our dog. No dogs allowed inside but there are some tables indoors too. There was a huge line, likely common on the weekends. Both the crab and lobster sandwiches were amazing. The bread was soft, but overall pretty basic. The seafood was the real winner here. The clam chowder was also amazing - great depth of flavor albeit a small portion. The fries were perfectly fried, crispy and seasoned. The garlic bread was basic but also good. I would really hand it to the crab sandwich if I had to pick a favorite.

It was raining so we sought refuge here. We started with the prawns and chips ($19). The prawns are good in size. They're lightly battered - light and fluffy with a nice crisp. Naturally, we ordered oysters - sweet heaters ($22 for a dozen). Sweet heaters are topped with jalapeños + shallots. They were very okay. Oysters can do without toppings unless it's some sort of dressing or marinade. The jalapeños and shallots did very little to enhance the oysters. I'd skip this one. I also ordered the lobster roll ($28). The hoagie roll is dressed with mayo and is filled with garlic butter lobster. It's good! But greasy. And oily. And I didn't love the hoagie roll. Hoagies are more suited for sandwiches, but I felt like it didn't do the lobster justice. Lots of indoor seating for rainy days. Nothing more romantic than eating a lobster roll in a rain storm. read more

After checking out the local restaurant reviews we figured the Fisherman's Cove was the best bet. The restaurant has a small parking lot, but main road parking is available. The menu is on the wall and walk up ordering, then take a number. The restaurant itself has a true nautical look which would be expected. It's a very casual dining room with outdoor seating. Our food was delivered quickly in spite of being lunch time. We both had fish and chips, although my wife had cod and I opted for the halibut for $6.00 more. We wanted to see the difference. Both platters were cooked w well and lightly battered, hot and crispy. My halibut was flaky as it should be but the cod was just as good. I wouldn't spend the extra next time. There are a couple of beers on tap along with cans and bottles. Quite a nice wine selection and a couple of ciders. All in all a very nice lunch. read more

Fisherman's Cove is my go-to spot every time I'm craving seafood in Bodega Bay (even more than the other touristy places that you've probably heard of). I've eaten here and ordered takeout dozens of times, and it never disappoints. I usually order the lobster roll, clam chowder, calamari, and fresh oysters, and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. I love that they keep things simple and really let the quality of the seafood shine. The seating and atmosphere are very casual and unassuming. There are benches and tables both indoors and outdoors, but the line can get very long and even stretch out the door on the weekends. Pro tip: order for pickup and drive up to Bodega Bay Trailhead to enjoy your food in the car with an ocean view! All in all, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

We came on a Saturday afternoon (about 2:00) and it was busy the entire time we were there. It's an order at the counter place and we only waited about 5-10 minutes to order. The guy at the register was super friendly! The place looks out over a little wharf and the atmosphere was very beachy and fun. Our food came out very quickly, especially for how busy they were. We had the clam chowder, a shrimp po' boy and halibut tacos. All the food was delicious. Would definitely come here again! read more

We had the fresh, local salmon -grilled as Salmon and chips. The salmon was absolutely delicious. The portion was big. People commented on the fries and I questioned how different fries could be, but I was wrong. The fries were crisp on the outside and creamy in the middle. So good. I had a shrimp po'boy that was good. People raved about the chowder- it was flavorful with loads of clams. A little thinner than my favorite. Overall we enjoyed our lunch. Counter staff was friendly and helpful. The cook came to see how we enjoyed our food and told us how the owner obtains the fresh salmon from local fishermen. It sits just across the road from the marina filled with fishing boats and sailboats. We would highly recommend this little place. read more

10/10. Fisherman's Cove is SO good. Great beer, great food, and I'm not even hungry anymore and somehow I still want more. I've been coming here since back when it was basically a tackle shop that sold sandwiches, and it's awesome to see what it's become. Also, the guy working up front today deserves a raise. Whatever he's making, it's not enough. Super friendly, great service, and just made the whole experience even better. Seriously, 10/10. We'll definitely be back. read more

On our excursion to Bodega Bay, I read quite a few reviews saying that this is a place that you should definitely try and I just wanted to start off by saying I was a little disappointed. In this we got fish and chips and a crab sandwich. Let me start off with the supposed star of the show which is the crab sandwich. This sandwich is soooo small, it's flavorful a little too runny though for what I thought it'd be making my bread soggy, but holy... For $28 you'd expect more. Our sandwich was a fist and a half in size if you can imagine that by comparison. Maybe it's because it's off crab season, but with that size there's so many better options than this sandwich. 2.5/5* Fish and chips were decent, they surprisingly had a huge portion of fish here for $20, but our fish was so oily, like after it came out and we tore into it and the bottom was soggy oily. We got 1 cup or tartar sauce for 3 pieces of white fish; it's 50 cents per cup of you want more. Honestly, the best thing we ate here were the french fries, perfectly crispy and super flavorful definitely better than the other 2 we tried beforehand. 5/5 fries, 2/5 fish. Overall, not the best experience here maybe if you want to try the crab sandwich come during crab season, but for me I can't say I'd come back. read more

AUG2025 We've been in a few times a year. Easy place for pickup for us and our activities going into the Bodega Bay area. One thing of improvement over the years that's been a huge help is the website and online ordering. We've been able to do our orders that way rather than brave lines and quick access to the menu. We would use it while we're just driving through ourselves, but when friends are visiting with little kids and all anything to make it easier is great. On a side note, we've also tried the fish and chips recently which were also fresh and crispy. The white fish tasted fresh. I feel like the veggie sandwich got an update as well, or the sauce did since it was a bit heavier with more bite to it. Added nicely overall. read more

I sent a private message to them to let them know I had a little extra something in my 30$ crab sandwich. I ordered online and picked up. Later that evening They sent me an automated response message asking me how my meal was, I explained and It's been over a week and I've not heard from them yet. I tried to send the message and the picture privately, but nobody has responded. I love Fishermans Cove, but I spent $70 that day and had to throw away the sandwich. Bummer read more
