Calamari
Paolo C.

Solid Waterfront Spot Worth the Stop Great experience overall. The calamari was excellent -- easily a highlight of the meal. The fried fish and shrimp had a really tasty batter, though it ran a bit heavy. Service was quick and attentive, and you can't beat the ambiance sitting right on the water in Bodega Bay. We came through celebrating a friend's bachelor party weekend out of Sebastopol, and this was a great call for the group. Nothing fancy, just good food in a great setting. Would come back next time I'm in the area.

Topic: Rocker Oysterfeller's Date: 4/18/26 Quality: 9/10 Value: 7/10 Service: 6/10 Timeliness: 3/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Total: 34/50 We came in at 8:05 on a Saturday and we were quoted a 30 minute wait, the wait was just under 40 minutes. The server was too busy so the busser ended up taking our entire order. They didn't refill our waters throughout the whole stay. Food was really good ! Everything else had a lot of room for improvement. Beachcomber: 5/10 Didn't taste/look like we expected Moscow Mule: 3/10 Just tasted like smelly vodka, we asked the server and she said the busser put it in wrong as a mezcal mule. I ended up sending it back and the server took it off the bill Filet Mignon (cooked medium): 8.75/10 Pan Roasted Local Fish Filet: 8.25/10

Amazing service! We left and an hour later I was still raving about the service we received - my water glass was never empty, we had a backup water jug, and were even gifted some small bites of sea salt caramel ice cream to go with our dessert The food was also amazing, I got oysters to start and fish & chips for the main meal. Both delish! We split the sticky bread pudding and could've died after it was everything bread pudding should be

Service is great - we ate here 2 nights and had mostly great food. The wines by the bottle are exceptional and are served at the right temperature and priced very fairly - not overly charged - so order a nice wine and know that you're getting a deal. The fish and chips was good and the fried shrimp - all fresh and not greasy. We normally don't order fried food but this was really light and we were really hungry! The chowder was very good - had that on day one. Had the wedge salad both days and was nice Husband had the creole fisherman stew and loved that with the bread. Didn't love the calamari - wouldn't t order that again. Save room for the soft serve ice cream - we had a small one and it was awesome! Thank you to the staff here - they are exceptional

This was my second time at Oyster Rockerfeller's while staying in the Bodega Bay area. Expect a little wait especially on the weekends! If you have a large party though, you can call ahead for reservations. The ambience is nice with perfect views of the bay and a choice of indoor or outdoor dining. Service was friendly on a busy Saturday night. My husband and I shared the calamari appetizer, a cup of chowder and fish n chips. Everything was on point and I highly recommend the homemade fries that are cut and cooked wedge style. Bloody Mary was also delicious and hit the spot!

Restaurant Week 2026 Growing up in Sonoma County, we came out to [the old place] all the time but never ate in the restaurant. I had no idea Rocker Oysterfeller's had taken over and it was my first time eating there so I have NO comparison. Came here on a Sunday for lunch. We were immediately struck with the super casual, friendly and inviting vibe. The ENTIRE bar area was filled with patrons and it was only 11:30am. :) No reservations but lucked out with a great table near the window. That day was overcast and cloudy but for me, just beautiful. You're on the water! How can you not love the views!! Seals barking and the caws of birds remind you that you're in Bodega Bay. Started with cocktails - French 75 for me. I admit I was a bit thrown by the purple color but the flavor was very nice. Strong and lemony and had a nice amount of sparkle. Hubby's cranberry drink was less impressive but he follwed it with a delicious hazy from Old Caz. Nice that they feature our sonoma county breweries. We ordered grilled clams and then varying menus off the Restaurant Week offering. Garlic butter clams - they were all kinds of perfect! Clam chowder + BBQ Prawns for hubby, wedge salad + fish & chips for me. Clam chowder - creamy, bacony, plenty of clams. Prawns - I liked the flavor but for me, they were a bit dry. Wedge salad - PERFECT. Every bite was delcious and crunchy and fresh. I liked the crispy onion strings! Fish & chips - we were divided but ultimately it was my order and I'm the one who loved it. (he prefers crunchier) The fish was tender, batter flavorful, and those two were balanced. Service was professional and paced nicely. We were somehow seated in a grouping of chatty/friendly other patrons and it added to the incredibly enjoyable first time visit. I look forward to returning!

Blackened sole, rice and black-eyed peas

The food was excellent I would go back just to try other dishes. The Oysters Rockefeller were amazing! We had the pan fried fish it was blackened with black-eyed peas and jambalaya rice, just the flavors mixed together was FIRE! The fish was sole, it was just an unexpected favorable dish! My drink a lavender gin drink was delicious, I am so glad we there instead of the restaurant that was being highly recommended by our hotel.

We went on a Sunday night on a three day weekend. We got there at 6pm, it was busy and the wait was about 45 minutes. You can wait inside and get drinks from the bar while you wait The restaurant itself is nice and has outdoor seating with heat lamps and a fire pit. We sat inside because it was cold. It was a little loud inside but not overwhelming. A little baffling could go a long way to reduce the sound but it might affect the overall vibe so it is a hard call. I'm not a drinker but I love a virgin strawberry daiquiri. They unfortunately don't make blended drinks so I instead had a virgin mojito which was good. We had an appetizer and two mains. crab cakes - 9/10 - these were delicious, very nice with the remoulade and herb salad. This was much better than having it in the captain's platter captain's platter - 7/10 - good with a nice variety, shrimp and dipper fries were good, the calamari ok. local fish - 8/10 - I liked this more than my wife did. The fish for that day was swordfish. Swordfish is not my favorite but overall it was well prepared and had very nice flavors The highlight was the service. Maeve was great, she offered many suggestions was attentive but not intrusive, super friendly and an amazing server. 5 stars The food was 4 stars with some ups and downs. Averaging 4.5 but I will round up as the overall experience was good. Once again I apologize as my hunger overrides my photo taking urges.

We celebrated our anniversary in Bodega Bay, and this spot was our very first stop and it set the tone perfectly. The ambiance was dim and cozy, giving it a really romantic feel. To start, we ordered the sturgeon dip and their popular Rocker oysterfellers, which were a great way to kick off the meal. The lobster pot pie immediately caught our eye, and we're so glad we went for it! It was packed with lobster and potatoes and was incredibly comforting and delicious. We also tried the Starbird mussels, which came with garlic bread and were full of flavor. Service was great throughout our visit. The staff was attentive, checked in on us often, and kept our waters refilled. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!

Fish and chips

Came on Veterans Day since I had the day off. There was no hostess at the front and there were several people waiting to be seated so we decided to just sit the bar since the bartender was actually there. As we were waiting the bartender said she'd be right with us. Looked like she was covering the outside patio area as well as the bar so she was pretty busy. Anyways our bartender was great as she was busy as hell. The food was decent not amazing or bad. Wasn't a fan of the chips. They have a weird take on chips. The fish had a little too much batter for my liking. While we were eating we saw people leave that were waiting at the front since no one helped them. Overall the bartender was great but if we hadn't sat the bar we probably would've been ignored for a while. If they were like this on a midweek holiday I'd hate to see it when they are busy.

I had raw oysters for the first time in a quite while. I usually prefer them grilled, but these were so fresh! No fishy smell at all, absolutely delicious‼ To the lady at the bar: you were the only great one! However, I couldn't give 5 stars because the rest of the staff seemed really stressed even though the restaurant wasn't full. The service was unusually slow, and I honestly don't understand why it took that long. :( When we arrived, there was no greeting and we waited a while at the front counter with no acknowledgment, so we decided to sit at the bar instead. Honestly, it looked like our server was the only one really hustling taking care of both the bar and the patio.

On a whim, we stopped by after dinner to enjoy a glass of wine and the sunset. Best decision ever. The place was packed. Always a good sign. We were greeted immediately by Anton and his beautiful smile. He said we were welcome to sit anywhere. However, we had our sights set on one of the outside firepits. Anton found us the perfect firepit facing the bay and the setting sun. (BTW... the interior of the Lounge is jaw dropping elegant and rustic with amazing architectural designs.) Within minutes he was back with drink and dessert menus. I think he reads minds because that was exactly what we wanted. Again... such lovely customer service. Anton just knows how to make you feel special. Oh those desserts!!! I wanted one of each... but settled on the decadent sounding carrot cake. Cream cheese, toasted pineapple and candied pecans. And while we are choosing... please throw in the trio of yummy scoops of gelato!:) For the record, these eye-pleasing, delicious sweets were top shelf for sure. Every bite was thoroughly enjoyed. No leftovers:). For such an upscale venue, prices for the desserts and excellent cafè latte were surprisingly reasonable! I can hardly wait to return to Drakes for breakfast, brunch or dinner. And they did not disappoint. Three of us ordered the crab cakes while two went for the traditional hamburger and fries. Everyone was happy with their choices. Crab cakes were on point! Lots of crab with little filler. Really rich and moist served with a light sauce, which complimented them so well. Hamburgers were big and juicy with lots of crispy fries. In the beverage department, I selected the Quivira Sauvignon Blanc, which was wonderful. You rarely see this winery on restaurant wine lists, so I was quite excited. It is so delightful and perfect with crab cakes. (Menu photos of everything are included.) By the time we were finished, every seat was filled. It is a small area with maybe 7 seats at the bar and a mixture of tables and high tops rounding out the rest of the room. Very cozy. A gorgeous view of the ocean and golf course, too, as the restaurant is on the second level of the building. Casual dining at its best! Alex and his helper were working hard. Five-star customer service for sure. Shout out to them both! I highly recommend Bluewater Lounge for a place to stop where you will have quality food, a full bar, and people who strive to give the highest customer experience to everyone! Open for dining Wednesday, Thursday (live music), Friday (bingo or live trivia), Saturday, and Sunday (brunch). (It's always smart to call for specific open hours.) Parking plentiful. Did I mention they give a nice wine pour too!!! Cheers!
