My husband wanted some oysters so we gave this place a try, and I'm so glad we did since we went back the next day for more! We had a tasty lunch with raw oysters and a jalapeño mignonette sauce, smoked trout dip, and a bowl of the chowder. The smoked trout dip was pretty good with the chip and pickled onion (my least favorite dish). The raw oysters with the mignonette sauce were fantastic...we went for two rounds! My favorite chowder in Bodega Bay was Spud's, but I think this one knocked it out. I enjoyed the smoky flavor to it! Our kids aren't seafood fans so I really appreciated their kids menu that had butter & cheese pasta. Their Bloody Mary was solid as well! The following day, we had the Wedge Salad and calamari along with a bowl of chowder. The salad was crisp and the combination of ingredients was perfect with all the textures and flavors of the bacon, cherry tomatoes, shoe string onion rings, and blue cheese dressing...the best wedge salad I've ever had! I loved the lightness of the calamari batter as well! This is a nicely decorated and clean restaurant. It was romantic with the view of the bay. I felt the customer service was a little off, but eventually our servers were nicer as both lunches went on. There was a Hispanic man that was very friendly and kept our water filled. Meh. We were there on Monday at about 1215 or so. It wasn't very busy at the time and the service started out fine but then went downhill from there and never recovered one person at our table ordered chowder and we immediately received soup, spoons, but then we sat and waited and waited and waited, and when the chowder finally came out, it was after the entrées were served. So now you have to choose between having hot soup or having a hot entrée. Very poor. The fish and chips and the captains plate both featured seafood that was far too heavily coated in batter. That was far too thick and heavy. I would never order them again based on this experience. The fries were good as was the coleslaw and the sauces served with the items. The rockfish was very fresh and once you got past all the armor, it was tasty but needed salt. No one ever came to check on us and in order to get just the basics like a refill on iced tea and some salt and pepper we had to flag our server down. The first set of salt and pepper shakers that were delivered were completely out of salt. Seems like no one's doing their side work. The ambience was OK but the style of the restaurant dates back to the 70s and 80sand not in a great way. However, if food and service are good, I really don't care about things like that. The captains platter was very large, so some people would perceive it as a good value, however, since half of it is batter that really deflates that idea unless you like fried dough. The calamari were lightly coated in some kind of flour, but as a consequence, they were not crispy at all. I wanted to like this restaurant and this was our first visit. Solid Waterfront Spot Worth the Stop Great experience overall. The calamari was excellent -- easily a highlight of the meal. The wines by the bottle are exceptional and are served at the right temperature and priced very fairly - not overly charged - so order a nice wine and know that you're getting a deal. This was my second time at Oyster Rockerfeller's while staying in the Bodega Bay area. Expect a little wait especially on the weekends! If you have a large party though, you can call ahead for reservations. The ambience is nice with perfect views of the bay and a choice of indoor or outdoor dining. Service was friendly on a busy Saturday night. My husband and I shared the calamari appetizer, a cup of chowder and fish n chips. Restaurant Week 2026 Growing up in Sonoma County, we came out to [the old place] all the time but never ate in the restaurant. I had no idea Rocker Oysterfeller's had taken over and it was my first time eating there so I have NO comparison. Came here on a Sunday for lunch. The ENTIRE bar area was filled with patrons and it was only 11:30am. :) No reservations but lucked out with a great table near the window. That day was overcast and cloudy but for me, just beautiful. You're on the water! How can you not love the views!! Seals barking and the caws of birds remind you that you're in Bodega Bay. Started with cocktails - French 75 for me. I admit I was a bit thrown by the purple color but the flavor was very nice. Strong and lemony and had a nice amount of sparkle. Hubby's cranberry drink was less impressive but he follwed it with a delicious hazy from Old Caz. Nice that they feature our sonoma county breweries. We ordered grilled clams and then varying menus off the Restaurant Week offering. Garlic butter clams - they were all kinds of perfect! Clam chowder + BBQ Prawns for hubby, wedge salad + fish & chips for me. Clam chowder - creamy, bacony, plenty of clams. Prawns - I liked the flavor but for me, they were a bit dry. Wedge salad - PERFECT. Every bite was delcious and crunchy and fresh. I liked the crispy onion strings! Fish & chips - we were divided but ultimately it was my order and I'm the one who loved it. We went on a Sunday night on a three day weekend. We got there at 6pm, it was busy and the wait was about 45 minutes. You can wait inside and get drinks from the bar while you wait The restaurant itself is nice and has outdoor seating with heat lamps and a fire pit. We sat inside because it was cold. It was a little loud inside but not overwhelming. A little baffling could go a long way to reduce the sound but it might affect the overall vibe so it is a hard call. I'm not a drinker but I love a virgin strawberry daiquiri. They unfortunately don't make blended drinks so I instead had a virgin mojito which was good. We had an appetizer and two mains. crab cakes - 9/10 - these were delicious, very nice with the remoulade and herb salad. This was much better than having it in the captain's platter captain's platter - 7/10 - good with a nice variety, shrimp and dipper fries were good, the calamari ok. local fish - 8/10 - I liked this more than my wife did. The fish for that day was swordfish. Swordfish is not my favorite but overall it was well prepared and had very nice flavors The highlight was the service. We celebrated our anniversary in Bodega Bay, and this spot was our very first stop and it set the tone perfectly. The ambiance was dim and cozy, giving it a really romantic feel. To start, we ordered the sturgeon dip and their popular Rocker oysterfellers, which were a great way to kick off the meal. The lobster pot pie immediately caught our eye, and we're so glad we went for it! It was packed with lobster and potatoes and was incredibly comforting and delicious. Came on Veterans Day since I had the day off. There was no hostess at the front and there were several people waiting to be seated so we decided to just sit the bar since the bartender was actually there. As we were waiting the bartender said she'd be right with us. Looked like she was covering the outside patio area as well as the bar so she was pretty busy. Anyways our bartender was great as she was busy as hell. The food was decent not amazing or bad. Wasn't a fan of the chips. They have a weird take on chips. The fish had a little too much batter for my liking. While we were eating we saw people leave that were waiting at the front since no one helped them. Overall the bartender was great but if we hadn't sat the bar we probably would've been ignored for a while. If they were like this on a midweek holiday I'd hate to see it when they are busy. read more

Employees were welcoming and friendly but service was a little slow; they'd come by often to check up on us but took a long time to refill our water & coffee (sadly the coffee was lukewarm, even the refill I got); our appetizer (1/2 dozen oysters) came after we had our main entrees & only after we asked about it (we think they might've forgotten?). The Starbird Mussels (creole tomato beer broth, andouille sausage, habanero sauce, served with 2 pieces of garlic bread) was delicious, filling and had a great kick of spice. Anyway told wife Sole was fish special of the day so she ordered it and I got the blackened shrimp and grits per his recommendation. Ok easily the best restaurant in Bodega Bay. Ordered the captains platter. It is massive. Easily big enough for 2 people to share, which I shared with my Dad. I also had the clam chowder which was also good. All of the fish was tasty and not greasy. The fries are quite unique, they are wedge cut but thinner. Much better than regular wedge cut. Service is great. Everyone is in a good mood. Heck even the other patrons are friendly. All around good vibes. Parking is rough, I had to circle a few times but got seated really quickly. I was excited to try Rocker Oysterfeller's at Lucas Wharf! They specialize in fresh seafood with southern flavor.  During my visit I enjoyed: - Specialty Strawberry Hills cocktail with vodka, strawberry shrub, elderflower liqueur, lemon, rhubarb bitters, and cava - Dungeness crab and artichoke cakes, which came with remoulade sauce over herb salad with fried capers - New Orleans BBQ Shrimp with a Worcestershire butter sauce and garlic bread The cocktail and appetizers were both so delicious. I especially enjoyed the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp and all the flavors.  My friend and I enjoyed a view of the ocean and watching the fisherman come in with their bounty from the day. We also saw some sea lions during our visit as well as many seagulls.  The service was great throughout my visit and the staff was very attentive. We came in for dinner on a Tuesday night. We started with 4 garlic butter oysters, they were good. We also ordered Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Frogs, there were no frogs involved, and the appetizer was really good, I had never had anything like it, the cheese stuffed shrimp really worked. We also ordered the Steak Frites. I didn't read the menu thoroughly and I was surprised that the steak was swimming in a new orleans style worcestershire butter sauce. Stopped by today as a solo diner. Rarely do we, the solo diners, get the nice tables. But today, even though they were fairly busy, I got the best seat in the place! It nice to not be shuffled to the corner or bar. I had a wonderful Milll Creek Malbec and their calamari. Asked for more cocktail sauce when I ran out, a new one arrived promptly. The second one had waaayyyy more horseradish than the first which I loved!! Had I gotten those in the reverse order I would have been sad! Decided to take the scenic route home from Guernville and popped in to this nice little restaurant on the water. Quite often, when traveling solo, restaurants would rather have you sit at the bar to keep tables open for larger parties (which I totally understand), but I greatly appreciate being offered a table when the location has a great view of the bay. I was taken to a table near the window with the perfect evening view. I ordered the Bird cocktail, Tomales Bay oysters and the blackened shrimp and Carolina grits. The smokiness of the mezcal and kick of the serrano makes for a perfect slow sip cocktail while you enjoy the view. The jalapeno mignonette with the oysters was very tasty! If I wasn't so big on texture, I could have easily ordered 6 more oysters (only comes in 4... but still!) That was a great dish. (Easily my favorite.) The shrimp and grits came with 6 giant, perfectly blackened shrimp in a rich creole sauce. While I can't label it the best shrimp and grits I've had, it is certainly worthy of a try. OMG this was one of the best, most delicious cheeseburgers I ever had!!! I ordered the steakhouse style burger that had bacon and asked for pimento cheese (opposed to blue cheese) and it was a BIG HIT!!! I love love love the remoulade sauce that came with it!
