Clam Chowder

We stop here after a round of golf to grab a drink. The service was fast & amazing. I had a bowl of clam Chowder soup ( not a fan very watery) and shrimp tacos. They were one of the best I have had. Full of shrimp , lots of cabbage & avocado. Very flavorful.

This place is amazing. Not only can I play eighteen holes of golf at the golf course, but I can sit and have a wonderful cocktail on the outside deck. The upstairs bar and dining area has incredible views. You should see this during the sunsets. It's what california is all about. And for this mirror I have the salmon alfredo, they actually smoke their own salmon. It was delicious. Not to mention the cocktails, they have a great cocktail menu.Wonderful wines by the glass and absolutely the best beers on tap from our local breweries. The staff is wonderful and the service was fast and perfect. I can't say anything more. They have live music on Thursday night. So i'm gonna check that out myself, but everybody should check out the blue water lounge at the bodega bay golf links. And I found out all the fish is fresh, bought down in Bodega Bay, local wines, local beers on draft. Come down and enjoy the fun.We have the best experience.Thank you, blue water, lounge and your staff. You made our vacation so pleasurable we will be back.

We stopped by for one drink and the live music on our way to our dinner reservation. The bar is upstairs, and the server helped us put two tables together as we had six people. The musician was by the fireplace playing his guitar and you can donate cash. Our bartender was attentive and whipped up our cocktails quickly. He also brought water. One order was misheard, but it was quickly remedied. There were a few televisions around the bar for those who are looking to watch specific sports. Lots of paved parking as it is tucked away in a residential community. Great views if you are facing out the windows. Will be back next time for food or trivia! The restroom we used was downstairs next to the front door. There was an elevator if you need it.

View is beautiful!

This was our first time dining here. Service was attentive and fast. We started with amazing margaritas and shoe string fries. We tried the Korean ribs, fish tacos and pepperoni pizza. Everything was delicious! All that and a gorgeous view and live music. I recommend this place!!

Wok Seared Pork Ribs Mango Chili BBQ Sauce, Sweet Potato Fries

Ribs were excellent!! The sweet potato fries were a nice touch. View from the lounge overlooks the golf course and Doran beach with the beautiful backdrop of the ocean.!! A must stop if you are visiting Bodega Bay.

Last day on vacation. Just wanted to pick up some quick food and take it back to our house to enjoy and relax before leaving in the morning . Amazing view! Good clam chowder. Service was slow.

We had a tasty lunch with raw oysters and a jalapeño mignonette sauce, smoked trout dip, and a bowl of the chowder. The smoked trout dip was pretty good with the chip and pickled onion (my least favorite dish). The raw oysters with the mignonette sauce were fantastic...we went for two rounds! My favorite chowder in Bodega Bay was Spud's, but I think this one knocked it out. I enjoyed the smoky flavor to it! Our kids aren't seafood fans so I really appreciated their kids menu that had butter & cheese pasta. Their Bloody Mary was solid as well! The following day, we had the Wedge Salad and calamari along with a bowl of chowder. The salad was crisp and the combination of ingredients was perfect with all the textures and flavors of the bacon, cherry tomatoes, shoe string onion rings, and blue cheese dressing...the best wedge salad I've ever had! I loved the lightness of the calamari batter as well! This is a nicely decorated and clean restaurant. It was romantic with the view of the bay. I felt the customer service was a little off, but eventually our servers were nicer as both lunches went on. There was a Hispanic man that was very friendly and kept our water filled. We enjoyed talking to him. The customers sure were friendly with lots of smiles towards our kids. This is my favorite Bodega Bay restaurant. I look forward to bringing family and friends.

We ordered the Coastal Tacos (rock cod) and Fried Chicken Sandwich. At first we were concerned that it might not be enough for us, but when the food came, we realized our worries were for naught. Both the tacos and the sandwich were quite large and also quite messy, but if a taco or fried chicken sandwich is not a little messy, it's probably not very good! The decor retains the flavor of the building's roots. I seem to recall reading that it was a stage coach stop (or railroad stop?) during an earlier life, which is completely believable since it was built in 1864. Rustic, but with some modern touches. We plan to stay at the Valley Ford Hotel again, and when we do, we'll wander down the stairs to Rocker's Roadhouse for dinner. I hope there's oyster Po' Boys on the menu by then!

We happened to wander to the end of the adjoining pier while we waited for our meal, which ended up being a top notch idea. Not only is there a darling, maritime-themed cottage, but we found a selection of board games that were up for grabs and we borrowed Yahtzee! to entertain ourselves during our meal. We weren't especially hungry, so we opted for a selection of sides, plus my friend is a fan of mussels, so we tried their weekly special. While seafood isn't my usual preference, the broth was delicious with a warm heat to it. Next up were the Mushroom à La Grecque, which I found on the sides menu. Simple, but tasty. The Grilled Asparagus could've learned something from the simplicity of the mushroom dish. It's trying to do so much. The crumbled hard-boiled egg and the marcona almonds, which lost most of their crunch. The gremolata wasn't noticeable and the seasonings weren't a garnish as much as a layer atop the vegetables. I ordered asparagus because I actually enjoy it and it was smothered. On the other hand, I love Strauss Dairy's everything. Nick's Cove offers a lavender or blue corn cone for their soft-serve ice cream and a number of other delicious options to get your ice cream on after your main course. I went with the swirl of vanilla and chocolate and was not disappointed! I strongly recommend making the stop.
