Went here yesterday mid day for the first time and while hardly cheap we still felt it was worth it. Unlike other more popular restaurants in the area, no need to stand n an endless line which is great. Beautiful spot with great bay views unlike some other area restaurants with a more industrial setting. All the food was excellent. Crab sandwich was outstanding with a gorgeous bun, fantastic couscous and excellent pickled veggies on the side. Clam chowder was very good with a great hint of bacon in the savory broth intermixed with clams. The Rock Cod paella was deemed excellent and my brother in law vowed to get it again next time. If you want a quiet place on the bay with easy parking, great views and friendly service give it a try.

Beautiful location, took a break between lunch and dinner to drink some wine and enjoy our books out in the sun. They had umbrellas for shade and the service was great. It was very relaxing.

    Baked oysters are sooooo good!

I've been coming to this spot for a long time. Happy to report they are still going strong! They have some fantastic wines! And the food is all top notch! Service was super friendly and attentive. Loved the staff! Luckily for us it's off season so we got in without a wait. The interior is super cute and clean. I love stopping in here for some wine tasting and lunch whenever I'm in town.

Came here to enjoy the sounds and sights of the Bay and cove within Bodega. We sat outside with views of the harbor and enjoyed a glass of wine, their oysters of the day, and the onion dip and chips. Everything was delicious, light, and reminded us of Spring! The weather was perfect this evening which allowed us to sit outdoors however their inside space looked great as well. The server was kind however we almost forgot to pay our bill since they never came back! However on the way to the car I asked my husband if he grabbed the card in which he responded that he thought I paid! We ran back to pay the bill and apologized. It was a great place but I wish there was a bit more attentiveness as I would have ordered another glass of wine if we had the service.

Wouldn't normally get oysters but found these to be delicious! Great and quiet spot away from tourists in the bay. Service was good too.

Had a wonderful lunch at Gourmet Au Bay. Sat at the bar and got warm service from the two bartenders, who were very helpful in advising what items could be made vegan, which wines would suit our palettes, etc. We tried the Reality Czeck Pilsner as well as a flight of three wines. To go with our drinks we got the Mushroom Medley ($18) and Cauliflower Lebanese ($16), both of which were cooked nicely and tasted fresh. Was a bit windy to sit outdoors but their patio has a nice view right next to the bay.

Our favorite spot to have delicious food and a wine flight! We love the relaxed vibe and the delicious food. We've had their pizza, oysters, and salads. Our dog Coltrane loves it too!

**Restaurant Review:** We arrived on a Sunday early afternoon and were seated immediately with no wait. Before entering, we were asked for our order by the hostess and required to pay before being seated. It was windy and 59 degrees, so we chose to sit inside. Our order included two beet salads, a clam chowder, two glasses of wine, and a Red Stripe beer. Unfortunately, the clam chowder was served without bread, only stale oyster crackers that we removed immediately due to their dryness. The total cost of our meal was $85 before tip, but the quality and quantity of the food and drink seemed closer to $30. Since tips are collected with the order before seating, it felt like we were forgotten once our food was delivered. We were never checked on and had to ask the bartender for pepper as the food was bland and there were no spices on the table. The restaurant itself was clean but cramped and uncomfortable. Both the bartender and hostess were chatting behind the bar, seemingly unconcerned with the patrons. Overall, we did not find the food, service, or atmosphere worth the money. I would recommend waiting to tip until after you've finished eating, as it might encourage better service.

May 24, 2025 Another wonderful experience at Gourmet Au Bay. They open at noon and we arrived a little earlier, so we grabbed a seat at their indoor patio and waited for a few minutes with our little puppy Sophie. Some of the staff spotted us there, so welcomed us. Lovely lady Marissa, stopped over to say hi to little Sophie. They had an immediate bond. Our server/owner Brian also showed up to let us know they would be with us as soon as they opened in a few minutes. He gave us a menu while we waited. The indoor patio is such a great place to hang out. It was fairly breezy with 30 mile an hour gusts outside, but the indoor patio protected us very well. We ordered the clam and bacon pizza. It seems to be our go to choice, even though there are lots of other good looking dishes on the menu. We also got a glass of Chardonnay and rosé wine. Wine came out almost instantly and the pizza showed up pretty quickly thereafter as well. Seriously you can't go wrong with the clam and bacon pizza. We also ordered the Paella with local cod, shrimp, olive tapenade, and rice to go. We had that for dinner and it was very tasty!

    3 meat pizza

Worst pizza ever. The crust was so thin, barely any toppings for all the extra charges. Super disappointed. One and done. Won't be back.

A great place in an awesome location! Had the crab sandwich, oysters, and clam chowder. Everything was amazing! And they have a decent wine and beer selection. That plus the location right on the water makes it great! I would definitely come here again.

Oh my gosh this place was the CUTEST. Sat at the bar and ordered some beer and wine since we were just in for a drink. The bartender/waiter was super patient and knowledgeable with all the patrons. It was very relaxing and cozy with the windows and waterfront views. I can't wait to come back!!

A Coastal Culinary Gem: Chef Austin O'Donnell's Magic at Gourmet Au Bay Nestled along Bodega Bay's picturesque shoreline, Gourmet Au Bay delivers an extraordinary dining experience under Chef Austin O'Donnell's talented guidance. Chef Austin's passion was immediately evident as he shared stories about his Napa Valley roots and commitment to farm-to-table ingredients. Randy and I started with perfectly fresh oysters, followed by the Hummus Mezze with house-made pita bread - pillowy inside with just the right char outside. The Beet Salad featured vibrant beets from Soda Canyon alongside foraged greens from Minor Winery, with whipped feta, pistachios, and vadouvan vinaigrette creating perfect harmony. On Chef Austin's recommendation, we tried the crab roll on his unique milk bread - a revelation of textures and flavors. The highlight was the Smoked Clam pizza, wood-fired to perfection with clams, garlic, olive oil, parsley, and Parmigiano - satisfying my seafood craving perfectly. Though typically not dessert-inclined, the carrot bread with Shasta Plum preserves and pistachio meringue had me practically licking the bowl clean. Chef Austin's ability to transform locally sourced ingredients into memorable dishes speaks to both his technical skill and deep understanding of flavors. His Napa Valley background shines through in every thoughtful preparation. A special thank you to Chef Sebastian from The Garden at Tannery Bend Beer Works for recommending this hidden gem with its dog-friendly patio and panoramic views. We will certainly be back and encourage others to support this incredible gem in Bodega Bay - a place where exceptional food, warm service, and coastal charm come together perfectly. #GourmetAuBay #BogedaBayDining #ChefAustinODonnell #FarmToTable #CoastalCuisine #NapaValleyRoots #WoodFiredOven #LocalSeafood #LobsterRoll #SmokedClamPizza #BodegaBayGem #DogFriendlyPatio #WineCountry #NorthernCaliforniaEats #FoodieDestination #OceanViewDining #FreshOysters #BeetSalad #HousemadePita #SonomaCoast #CaliforniaCuisine #TanneryBendBeerWorks #CulinaryGem #MustVisitRestaurant

Jeremy had sold my friends a wine trivia game on their last trip, so naturally we brought it along and played while tasting. So let's start with the "not good" - not only was it not good - the service was so bad I couldn't even bring myself to want to tip out of pity. I try to find reasons to tip in situations such as this but I could not. Literally the last time I left a $0 tip was 20 years ago - I'm no jerk. So to start it took forever to get any attention - felt invisible - after sitting down, I basically had to all but snap my fingers and shout, "garçon!" Then it was left to random chance when and what arrived at our table. Starting with, "here's your beers, not sure which one is which." The food items did not arrive together, but staggered. One item failed to arrive entirely and when I mentioned it there was no apology it was, "well did you say anything?" My befuddled reply, "I'm saying something now?" Then I asked for a napkin along with the check with the missing item removed, and got the check and no napkin. We had to rinse our hands in our water cups then wash them in the bathroom lol. The check arrived with a place to write a gratuity and a total, which is unusual - usually you have to give them your card before you get that option and this abnormality threw me off and I never gave them my card, I just gave a tip of " :( " and put the total and signed my name and left. A few minutes later my wife realized I didn't ever hand them a card. So I called and left a message apologizing and saying I still owe them. They never called back. So the next day I entered the restaurant to pay up, and they were really nice and said they couldn't find an unpaid tab and that it probably got voided out or something. They were magnanimous and cool about it. I'm worried maybe somebody else got charged for my meal? No idea, but I can't bring myself to leave 1 star for a place that in a weird round about way comped me for $75 in food and drinks even though I didn't tip them. What a weird experience.

I felt the customer service was a little off, but eventually our servers were nicer as both lunches went on. There was a Hispanic man that was very friendly and kept our water filled. We enjoyed talking to him. The customers sure were friendly with lots of smiles towards our kids. This is my favorite Bodega Bay restaurant. I look forward to bringing family and friends.

Rocker Oysterfeller's - Happy hour: Blue cheese wedge cups. Gluten free. Not the same as their edge salad- no bacon on it. But still incredible.
