We walked in to the place and the hostess stopped us as we entered for us to'check in' which is stopping to give them a credit card

Love their display- wine info and one wipes their card!

This was my first time ever at an interactive winery, such as this with a machine, yet there are two wine connoisseurs behind the counter that are available for questions as well as bottle service service if need be. I honestly love this concept where everything is self-serve and I just grab a wine glass and pick a wine, swipe my credit card and then pick the amount of wine. I want to taste! So cute and quaint! If you have questions, there's an employee behind you that is more than willing to help you but it's really so open and Free I really love the concept!! This whole Barstow area has such a cute Homie, family and safe feeling as I walked around with our dogs. I was able to taste wines here and there as well as pick up different snacks/food and bring them to each restaurant that poured wine or beer. Lol. We definitely should have never brought the puppies, but they needed to go out and I'm glad we got to explore this cute little area! I love all the little boutiques as well as this particular winery, which had some local Napa favorites of mine, as well as some other far places! I couldn't get a full picture of the left side of this reconfirmed Apple farm refinery because they were were tables and people sitting at all of the comfy tables with their own snacks, but this particular winery had a lot of room and I could see my girlfriends and I coming here for a day as well as lunch! I will definitely be back!! I love this concept and all the wines are perfectly chilled at the right temperature!!

This is such a charming little wine bar with a really unique concept. You register your card, and then you can sample a variety of wines, from reds and whites to sparkling wines and rosés. There are different pour sizes, so you can taste as little or as much as you like. They also offer beer and food, and there's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a great spot for groups. The self-serve setup adds a fun, interactive element as you get to explore the venue and try different options at your own pace. It's a great experience overall, and I would definitely recommend it!

Region is officially part of our holiday tradition! Here's what we love: - Heated outdoor tent with ample seating and comfy chairs/sofas. They have fireplace tables too. - You can pick from over 50+ wines on their wine wall - it is serve-yourself with a card and you can pick a 1oz, 3oz, or full glass pour. - You can order food from The Barlow restaurants to be delivered right to your seat! This is our second year in a row of ordering food while we sip wine in the tent area. - The wine selections focus on Sonoma area wines from smaller wineries you may not find or try otherwise. I love that they are highlighting these spots - one we loved and plan to do a winery tasting at next year! - Service is always friendly and hospitable. We had lovely conversations with a few of the staff this year, and they're always helpful in giving wine recs and bringing out our food. Only negative is that prices are a bit steep - $6-$11 for a half-glass pour can add up fast if you're staying for a few. But we find it worth it to support smaller wineries and this spot!

I've been here several times and I'm finally writing a review. This place has it all. I love that you have a wide variety of local wines from white to red to sparkling that you can taste, half pour, or have a full glass. The staff is very inviting and knowledgeable. I also love that you can order food from the Barlow and bring it to your table/area in region and eat while you taste. I've been here on a date, with friends from out of town and with family, it's a great place for all occasions. I'll definitely be back!

Self-service wine bar with excellently-sourced variety of wines! This self-serve wine bar is a great space to meet up with friends or divergent wine palates. The space is large and bright with plenty of space for groups. I love that they are dog-friendly, and enjoyed petting a number of furry friends in between sips. You get a wine card from the counter, grab a glass from the wine wall and select which wine and how large of a pour you would like (tasting, half or full glass). If you want to do a side-by-side comparison of any of the wines, simply grab a second glass! I appreciate the flexibility of the set up and the fact that they leave booklets at every table that offer tasting notes and region descriptions for you to self-educate while you imbibe. Would definitely return!

There are plenty of "pour your own beer" places but this is the first pour your own wine that I've seen! There is a large and great variety of wines to choose from of all grape varietals and you have the option of either a 1 oz taste, half glass, or full glass that is dispensed by the machine after you select your size. Some of the wine tastes are more affordable than others and the machine tasting fees can add up quickly. I think this is experience is still comparable in price to going to one Napa/Sonoma winery and getting tastings of that winery's wine only. With that said, it is still more than worth the price to be able to try a huge variety of different wines from different places that you choose. If you aren't sure, the staff is very knowledgeable on all the wines available and can help you choose what to try. Their bottle prices are also reasonable and not marked up! Trust me, I looked before buying. Great atmosphere and experience that we will be returning to every time we can!

Absolutely loved my experience here! From the service to the wines it's just a fun place for a date night. I came here for the first time and we were having so much fun with the self service tasting, that we went to get dinner and came back for more wine after lol. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Region is a much loved self pour winery located in the Barlow. The interior of the winery is sophisticated, well lit with its high ceilings and garage style doors. The outdoor patio is shaded and perfect for large groups. There is a menu book with descriptions for all the drinks offered as well as food you can order via QR code. I had my bachelorette party here and we had an amazing time. The staff were so nice and friendly. Its always a great experience when the staff genuinely like their job and are always smiling. The process is pretty smooth and easy. You walk up, create an account with Region and give them a credit card to have on file. From there, they will provide you a card to use to insert in the machine and you just select the amount you would like to sample. The selection is amazing. There's everything from reds, whites, and rosé from across the Russian River area. The card will be charged by the amount poured out of the spout so even if the bottle runs empty, you won't be overcharged for it. Be sure to mark Region as a must visit when in Sebastapol. The process is so much fun and wine lovers will get to truly experience the wine country at an affordable price.

Love. This. Place. What a concept! Not a new one, perhaps, but new to me! I'm odd in that I enjoy a buffet (a good one) because I like tasting bites of as many options as possible! My friends know and love me and are trained to offer me a small taste. (Sort of kidding.) Tapas restaurants are my jam. So, this wine tasting room is the equivalent of high end buffet. LOVE IT. Pricey? Sure. (I'm not a big drinker so I do the 1oz pours.) But I get to experience wines from places I might not otherwise get to enjoy. On our second visit, we became "members" which is basically a no-brainer if you plan to ever return. 2 half glasses of wine from the featured winery every time we go. Done! We go a couple times a month and each time find a new wine to try. We often split that night's flight as well. EXCELLENT staff. One of my favorite aspects is the relaxed, dog-friendly social vibe. Depending on our mood, we've sat quietly by ourselves, brought a group of friends, and a few times just started chatting with people sitting nearby. Food options are from nearby spots and we usually enjoy some fries with their delicious dipping sauces.

I REALLY LOVE THIS PLACE! Five stars just for the concept! Located in the hip Barlow in downtown Sebastopol, Region offers a unique wine tasting experience. Website advertises as having 100 plus Sonoma County wines by the taste, glass or bottle. These are wines you will want to taste! Why? Two reasons: Climate and soil. Sonoma County provides grape growers a wide variety of climate and soil conditions. With over 400 wineries in Sonoma County there is a varietal to suit any taste. Which brings me back to why I love Region. Being able to enjoy tastes of Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs all with different styles in one lovely setting was wonderful! Sonoma County produces some of the best wines in California. So I was def the kid in the candy shop! Customer service was off the hook! Kyle, Jamie and Kari were fantastic. Had a personal interaction with each of them. Wow...they know their stuff AND are so enthusiastic about it all! Obviously Region has top notch staff to match their top notch wines. Exchange your credit card for a "wine" card which provides access to your selected wines. Choose a taste, half of glass or a bottle. Place your wine glass under the spout and out it comes (obviously not the bottle selection). Then enjoy! While imbibing you may wander around the high-ceilinged, gorgeous inside area or lovely patio. I had so much pleasure chatting up interesting people while sipping and appreciating this new experience. There is sooooo much more to Region than I am able to write. I would be here forever. Food is available, fire pits in the patio area and world class wines. What else does a body need! Oh...yeah...do not forget the first class customer service. Thanks again Kyle, Jamie and Kari for making it soooo much fun! Would love to see a Region in my El Dorado County...pretty please!

Region is a wonderful wine bar located in the Barlow in downtown Sebastopol. When you arrive you check in at the counter and get a day use card or their premier card and put your credit card on file. Pick up a glass and insert your day card or premier card and select your wine pour from a taste to half glass to a full glass. The wine is poured from a self-serving wine station. Each wine has different price points so you can select what pricing and varietal works best for you. They have a vast selection of wine from Sonoma County. In addition to the self-service area, you can enjoy their wine tasting experience from bottles, which features a different local winery each week. The interior of region is beautiful, very modern and warm. They have plenty of tables and some couches too. They also have a tented area outside which includes more tables and some lounge furniture and two fire pits! How cozy? If you get hungry you can place a food order at Region with one of the local food vendors in the Barlow. They bring the food over to you so you don't have to leave and come back. This is one of my favorite spots in Sonoma County and always a must visit when in Sebastopol or at the Barlow! Region is a great place to relax and sip on some wine.

It's inviting vs the stuffy atmosphere some places have. BABAGANOUSH PITA we got it for the kiddo expecting it to be run of the mill stuff you get. But the babaganoush had the extreme rich flavors of smoked eggplant and felt like almost half an eggplant went in there. Not diluted with tahini, garlic, just pure flavors of eggplant with tanginess of sumac. LITTLE GEM SALAD WITH RAINBOW TROUT was hearty, leafy and very refreshing. The pickled celery was the surprise. HAMACHI CRUDO - beautifully assembled with thoughtfulness, light, refreshing. A bunch of flavor bombs in there so each bite is an adventure. Basil making it refreshing, earthy crunch from hazelnut, sharpness from green onion, sweet tart kiwis. I think a bit of citrus would make this a superstar. Mandolin shaved limes perhaps? GRILLED MAITAKE MUSHROOMS - ok I think this was the chefs most technically impressive dish, with an exercise in playing with bitter profiles and turning it into a master piece. Grilled maitake gets the char from the grill is the first flavor layer, it's woken up by the wild thyme from the zatar. Next the Japanese turnips bring the second dimension with earthy beautiful bitter notes on a bed of a creamy tahini based sauce. It's finished with fresh parsley to bring a fresh element to it. Great stuff. Could raddichio be added to make this more challenging? I saw those crunchy POTATOES and I got them even after eating the meal lol. Do yourself a favor and just get them - they're hot, crunchy and perfect to pair with the vegetables. Finally we got their chocolate mousse with bruleéd bananas sorry couldn't take a picture before it was all gone. Great way to wrap. The staff were all super friendly and helped with picking things from the menu! I got the mystery glass of wine and they had made a fun game out of it. The Beaujolais was great too. Overall when you're surrounded by these amazing farms, vineyards and ocean - no better way than to bring them together - kudos to the creators of the Redwood for making this place with intentionality. I wanted to get the squash, duck pâté, spring pea salad, tinned fish items as well, I guess for next time!

I made a reservation for 6pm on the deck as it had seatbacks and my husband has a bad back and can't sit on a picnic table. It's an elevated section above the beer garden, which that night had a singer with guitar. Service was pleasant though a little slow with drinks but they were pretty busy. We both had margaritas to start, which were $16 plus $3 for call brand so $19 each. Pretty good but not too strong. I then had the Hopmunk hefewisen beer which was only $8, much more reasonable. I had the Biergarten cheeseburger on a pretzel bun, cooked perfectly medium rare. Served with caramelized onions, bacon, smoked Gouda and a beer cheese, it was tasty but pretty messy! Cost was $23 plus I subbed a kale Caesar for $2 which was good but not worth the hype as a little dry. Husband had the grilled mole chicken with mole sauce and Spanish rice for $24. It was a large portion with two pieces of chicken and he enjoyed it. We then saw a show in the stone tavern next to the beer garden. It's an intimate venue with not a bad view in the house. We had seats because my husband is disabled so we're right in the front row. Otherwise it was standing only. Great acoustics and venue. I would go there often if I lived in Sebastopol, as it's right near the Barlow and downtown. Definitely recommend for food, entertainment and atmosphere.

We ordered the buffalo wings as well as the steak and frites and their chicken Philly sandwich. The steak plate was pretty good and the wings were also relatively good. The steak does have chimichurri on it and the salad is really good as well or the coleslaw. I can't remember what it came with. The wings taste pretty fresh and they do give you blue cheese and ranch with them, as well as vegetables like carrots and celery. However you are paying $17 for eight wings just a heads up. My friend personally did not enjoy the chicken plate. She felt like the chicken did not taste fresh but quite frankly, we were unable to get our waiters attention throughout our whole time seated there so at the end, we decided to just leave it without saying anything. The service is the reason for the lower rating. I think the food was pretty decent, but the service was not up to par. Service here was mediocre. I will add that I do not say that lightly and I normally do not like saying that about restaurants. I normally understand when service is off if the restaurant is full however this restaurant was pretty empty. At first our server came around twice and then we ordered and once after she brought out the waters. My friend had to ask her twice to bring a lemon for her water because it seems that the server forgot, although from what I could tell, she was really only serving our table and maybe two others. When the food came out I asked if she could refill my water. She said she would be back with more water. However, she literally did not come back until 30 minutes later and that was after my friend had to flag her down and ask her if she could bring us more water. I should also say that this was after we had finished the entire meal, which at that point water was really not necessary. What really pushed the experience over the limit was the server mentioning to us when we were paying that she got off the clock early because it was so slow. Meanwhile I sat there wondering if this was the reason that her service was so awful. While sitting there eating, I did notice that in general service was a problem for this restaurant... I noticed another customer walked in and sat for a while and wasn't spoke to. When he asked them if they were still serving food, he was responded to rudely. I also noticed another customer asked in regard to the menu and another server told him that the menu was over there on the other side without giving any direction. Aesthetically speaking, the spot is really cute. There's a lot of lights. They have a lot of plants however, based on the service, I don't think I would come back here. My friend who has been coming here for many years was actually shocked at how bad the service was today and said that this was pretty abnormal. Who knows maybe it was an off day. Either way after being unattended for more than 30 minutes and ignored it didn't really leave any reason to come back here again.
