This place is basically a wine bar when they aren't serving food. Stopped in for an early dinner at 4 pm but they didn't start serving food until 5 so we had bar food which was quite nice!

Roast lamb

Where else can you get a perfect meat snack plate of roast lamb sprinkled with Maldon salt??? The Redwood is delightful. Lois behind the bar is lovely and gives great suggestions. I love that you can see into the kitchen from the bar stool. Crispy Pilsner's on tap if you don't fancy their incredible natural wine selection. Everything that comes out of that kitchen is divine. Whatever you do, get the lamb.

We have dined here on multiple occasions and have always found the food, service, and atmosphere to be delightful. The food is always created with the freshest ingredients and cooked perfectly. We highly recommend the Braised Lamb Shank, the Petrale Sole, the Fennel Braised Pork Shoulder, the Little Gem Salad and the Smoked Rainbow Trout Dip. Save room for dessert.

Attention to quality flavored cuisine meets local hangout. If we only would live closer by... We made reservations via Resy, but probably would have been fine walking in tonight. There's a dining room with a wine store section at the front and the other half is a bar with some more tables. It was quiet got a 6 pm Saturday seat but picked up quickly. Service was personable, attentive and loved that they were so accommodating. I couldn't decide on a Primativo red or Pinot Gris white, so I got half pours of each! Now for food. The Yellowtail Crudo was awesome. Fresh, citrusy, coconut milk with a little spice touch. The fried potatoes were da bomb. Watch out cause they're filling. Lastly. Rounding out wax the Black Cod Tajine. Good but I wanted the freshness of crudo instead of the tomato based sauce with olives over accompanying basmati rice. Finishing off the meal was a Chocolate Crémeux that was deliciously rich with brûlée bananas and whipped cream. Had a wonderful little crunch and blended so wonderfully with the bananas and cream in one bite. The table beside was enjoying a flight of wines plus their canned fish with bread. I'm looking to come back another time to eat around the menu. Enjoy!

Recommended by acclaimed winemaker Martha Stoumen, the service, food, and wine were all spectacular. Every dish pictured here I'd order again (the bing cherry and olive crostini we gobbled down so blissfully that I failed to take a photo). Their bottle shop is super legit, as well. We live 45 minutes away in Marin, but will absolutely drive back to dine here again! What a treasure trive of fresh, creative, and delicious dishes in a setting that made us immediately feel at home.

Little gem salad

Checked this place out after searching Yelp and Google for a winery/wine bar restaurant that was still open late-ish, on a Monday evening. At first, we drove right past it but finally spotted it when on foot. The ambiance inside was giving me deja vu of an Asian fusion brewery spot in Tahoe interestingly... (Tahoe National Brewing). Service was very friendly and the menu was a mix of familiar and unique. We had recently seen a clip about "tinned fish" so it was fun to spot it in the sidebar and give it a try. It was great! I'd go back just for that. It's nice they pair it with chips so you're paced to eat it in little bites. The gem salad was delicious (especially with our added side topping of sardines ). The fried potatoes were good but very rich for only two of us splitting the whole portion. The natural wine was yummy - kind of felt like what cask is to beer. One of us was not a big fan of the type of mushroom in the vegetarian dinner plate, but the other loved it; so - a mixed bag! I can't tell how I felt about the cardamom panna cotta... but I don't regret trying it? The bill felt a little steep for this more tapas-style meal, but we had a really nice experience, surrounded by people seemingly catching up with long lost friends.

Everyone in my group stepped out of their comfort zone with cocktails. The nibbles were also tasty. Some got burgers, others got the rice or fried chicken. I got the cod dish. It was cooked very well. The skin was crispy and everything was seasoned well. I enjoyed the corn cake on the bottom. One thing not to skip is the side of fries. It comes with three dips and a nice sharing size for the table. The setting lovely and I'm really glad I checked this spot off my list.

We love Fern Bar Had a nice time, save for the verbal confrontation by our waitress. I paid for our dinner and left for the bathroom, when the waitress came back to my partner sitting alone and asked her what she did wrong. My partner was uncomfortable and didn't understand, so she asked her to clarify, which the waitress said we didn't tip her enough so she assumes we didn't like her. My partner didn't know what to say, and promptly asked me to leave when I came back. She was so upset about it. Our waitress was fine, but service was terribly slow, and she took forever to ask us for drinks and did not check on us. I didn't even mind honestly. It's not really her fault the back of house was busy. But to confront my partner alone at the table when I went to bathroom? How awful.

It has a relaxed vibe and is a great place to hang out. They have a food menu and you can select items from WM CoField Cheesemakers, Acre Pizza, or The Farmer's Wife and it will be delivered to you so you really have it all in one place, which is really nice and convenient. I highly recommend checking out their website for events that they have with the different wineries. I made a reservation for 6pm on the deck as it had seatbacks and my husband has a bad back and can't sit on a picnic table. It's an elevated section above the beer garden, which that night had a singer with guitar. Service was pleasant though a little slow with drinks but they were pretty busy. We both had margaritas to start, which were $16 plus $3 for call brand so $19 each. Pretty good but not too strong. I then had the Hopmunk hefewisen beer which was only $8, much more reasonable. I had the Biergarten cheeseburger on a pretzel bun, cooked perfectly medium rare. Served with caramelized onions, bacon, smoked Gouda and a beer cheese, it was tasty but pretty messy! Cost was $23 plus I subbed a kale Caesar for $2 which was good but not worth the hype as a little dry. Husband had the grilled mole chicken with mole sauce and Spanish rice for $24. It was a large portion with two pieces of chicken and he enjoyed it. We then saw a show in the stone tavern next to the beer garden. It's an intimate venue with not a bad view in the house. We had seats because my husband is disabled so we're right in the front row. Otherwise it was standing only. Great acoustics and venue. I would go there often if I lived in Sebastopol, as it's right near the Barlow and downtown. Definitely recommend for food, entertainment and atmosphere.

The outdoor space is huge and definitely the highlight -- great place to hang out for a long lunch or drinks. Service was attentive and everything came out quickly. We ordered the burgers, wings, and pickle fries. The burgers were massive, though a little dry even with all the sauces loaded on. The wings, however, were excellent and easily the best thing we ordered. The pickle fries were the miss for me -- house made, which sounded promising, but there was barely any actual pickle inside. I'd skip those next time and just double down on the wings.
