We had a fantastic dinner at Khom Loi! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the space was beautiful. Our family of 3 shared the following (we had some leftovers): 1) Chive dumplings - quite different from dumplings found in Chinese restaurants; tasty 2) Thai fried chicken - good 3) Pad kee Mao - amazing! Our favorite dish! 4) Beef stir fry - very good 5) Green curry with chicken - flavorful 6) Ube soft serve - good, though it tasted more like vanilla than ube I also got the tamarind soda, which was refreshing. Our waiter/server Sam was wonderful- he was friendly, attentive, and took very good care of us. The restaurant's indoor/outdoor set up, along with its lily pond (which my young daughter loved!) and greenery was lovely. We really enjoyed our meal here and look forward to returning the next time we're in Sebastopol. read more

The food was amazing! Their version of a Thai tea isn't on the sweeter side, which was a refreshing change and delicious. The food portions were SMALL and extremely expensive compared to the East Bay and SF. Their host was either new or unprofessional. Typically I make reservations at dog friendly restaurants there's a check box to inform the staff if there's a dog. There was none. When we arrived the host was understandably surprised but unfortunately did not handle it professionally. Letting us know he needed to ''get creative' with our reservations because we didn't specify we had a dog, then making a big show of add an extra chair to their patio to accommodate all of us to scolding us to 'leave a note next time' was all unprofessional. While I agree I shouldn't have assumed, I don't believe - especially since we were able to be seated within five minutes of our reservation- we should have been spoken to like that. Stopped by Khom Loi yesterday and had a really nice lunch. The space has a relaxing feel with the sound of running water from the fountain, and an open garage-style door in the back that lets in plenty of fresh air. I started with the Thai iced tea with coconut cream and cardamom. I loved that it wasn't overly sweet or super milky like some Thai teas can be. The cardamom came through nicely, and the coconut flavor worked really well with it. We started with the vegetable dumplings, which were not what I expected but in the best way. They were almost like a deconstructed dumpling with noodle sheets and spring onions that you wrapped in lettuce leaves. The chili oil was really rich and added a lot of flavor to each bite. We also shared the pad Thai. It also came deconstructed with fish sauce, vinegar, sugar, and other seasonings on the side so you could mix everything to your liking. It was a fun presentation but I wasn't quite sure how much of each ingredient to add. Overall, I enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. read more

Excellent Thai restaurant worth driving to Sebastopol for! Upon entry, you see a beautiful pond in the courtyard with gorgeous lighting fixtures with seating curved into the outside space - really nice design. We ordered 3/4 of the menu items and were super impressed with every item from presentation to layered flavors. Sometimes Thai restaurants are a bit boring and westernized but the flavor here were bold and nicely nuanced. For those sensitive to spice, they also offer to make some dishes half spice. The most impressive dish was the rock fish - it is a full size fish with herb and lime garnishes; the fish was fresh and delicious. My favorite dish was actually the tofu salad - the tofu is actually silken soft on the inside as promised - and surrounded by lots of fresh herbs and citrus. The drunken noodles also stood out as non-typical with excellent wok heat to give it a deep umami flavor. Service was casual and non-intrusive but also very friendly and attentive. I appreciated the proactive extra napkins for our dish and was impressed by how they handled a huge pain in the butt customer sitting next to us who literally complained about every single dish. They patiently took her complaints and offered her alternatives while I admittedly wondered why the customer even bothered to eat a Thai restaurant at all, I felt bad for the staff but they handled it so professionally. There is plenty of dedicated parking in their shared lot. This is definitely a favorite restaurant I will return to next time I'm in town. read more

Wow, no wonder this place is a Michelin bib Gourmand. Absolutely killer Thai flavors and spice. We were visiting Santa Rosa area for Pliny the Younger release and noticed this place. We had to try. Loved their beef larb salad, green curry. The green curry was loaded with an assortment of vegetables and I had chicken add on. Servers were very nice but a bit slow on service. NOV2025 So we've been back a few more times. Parking is mostly the apartment complex so you'll likely be on the street somewhere nearby. Service has been gracious with us each time and provided helpful suggestions when needed. Highlights for us is usually the lemongrass chicken. Definitely on point and the light sweetness from the sweet and sour is great. The crust is always nice and crunchy, and we've found it is easy leftovers with an air fryer. We also got the green curry to try something different and the pad thai for something the same. The pad thai is still a solid choice as everything mixes well. The green curry was great for a vegetarian dish. Probably our favorite part for it was the purple sweet potato which just melted with the sauce. read more

Delicious thai green curry! The purple sweet potato adds a nice touch of creaminess and sweetness. We also ordered their papaya salad, which they were able to make vegetarian, and it was very tasty. Also got a plate of their pad thai, which I'd skip next time. The tamarind drink was nice and tart, reminiscent of the thai tamarind hard candies. The vegan thai tea tasted really bitter and off, so I'd also skip that. They had a pandan soft serve made with Strauss milk and it was the perfect way to end the meal. My friend brought me to Khom Loi today for lunch. The first thing to notice is the pleasant environment. It's open, light, bright and has a lot of plants. The lighting is beautiful too. Our server was named Elliot. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about menu. He made recommendations. He took our photo. Overall, excellent service. The food and drinks were delicious. The basil mint drink was refreshing and delicious. We had the prawn appetizer. The sauce was so flavorful and scrumptious. We both ordered Pad Thai. expected more out of a bib gourmand but then again i am in sonoma eating asian food. thai iced tea was weak. salmon panang curry tastes exactly as you'd expect. salmon is seared separately and melds well with the curry when you flake it, little cubes of orange in the curry give it a nice pop of sweetness. because the salmon was cooked separately and plopped in i'm not impressed. pad kee mao was veggie heavy, they served extra sliced thai chilis on the side since they knew we wanted it spicy. nice gesture however pad kee mao itself was bland, could have used a lot more sauce while stir frying. space is pretty cool though read more

We got there at 7:30 and the place looks pretty busy, which is acceptable after a couple of minutes of waiting upstairs they came in the goddess and they gave us a table from the minute we sat down. It took 20 minutes for somebody to come to us to let us know if we want to drinks or take our order after our order was taken the dishes did not come out properly. My wife's main dish came out first and after 15 minutes my dish was out and then they brought us the appetizers completely upside down service I don't think I'll be back. read more

Wanted to try Khom Loi on my last visit to Sebastopol but time ran out. So made sure I hit it up on my trip this time. I first heard about it from a local at the Region in the Barlow. I Yelped it and wow... lots of buzz about this restaurant! Decided on happy hour for several reasons. According to Yelp...Kohm Loi gets busy fast at dinner time. And the parking lot is small, making it difficult if you are driving. (Found out later could have parked on close-by Florence Street and walked.) Plus, HH is a great way to try a new restaurant! It is a beautifully designed restaurant. Definitely a tropical, elegant, and open-air feel. You instantly relax when you enter the building. High ceilings and green plants provide a lush ambiance, and the stylish bamboo lighting is stunning. The bar is nice too because some of the bar seating provides a view into this main dining area. Along with a small curved bar, there are several tables and chairs. Well laid out area. Intimate. Service throughout visit was wonderful! Low-key employees who were all knowledgeable about the wine and food. Never rushing but also keeping tabs as an appetizer or glass of wine (really good wine choices) were finished. . They are definitely pros! So HH was fabulous! I have photos! For another time! Hit up Khom Loi again. Dinner. Photos! Food is beyond any Thai food ever. As of today this place is officially my favorite place in Sebastopol. The ambiance is super nice and cute. The menu filled with must tries. I can't wait to come back and taste everything else. Khom Loi has been on list to try for awhile now. I ordered the green curry with chicken and a side of jasmine rice to go. Delicious! It came to $30 before tip, so it was a bit pricier than I expected, but it was full of fresh and unique veggies, so I get it and I'll definitely order it again. The green curry was different from most I've had elsewhere - it had purple sweet potato in it, which was awesome! Photos in the to-go container didn't do it justice. But I highly recommend it. The ambiance, food, server were excellent. My annoyance is the arbitrary "healthy worker surcharge". The "surcharge" amounted to 4% of the meal cost before taxes, or $7.80 total. The arbitrary charge is not stated anywhere in the restaurant, besides the receipt. How do I know the "healthy worker surcharge" is given to the servers or split between the servers? The server received a generous serving tip from me. IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE YOUR WORKER IS "HEALTHY"!!! PAY YOUR WORKERS A HIGHER SALERY!!! DO NOT ARBITRARILY CHARGE ME FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES!!! Unfortunately, I did not notice the surcharge before the tip was calculated. This is the second time in a Sebastopol restaurant I have found the insulting surcharge. The first restaurant I had noticed the surcharge. I had the bill recalculated to remove the surcharge AND tax recalculated I was charged on THE SURCHARGE!! The Khom Loi bill I did not notice the surcharge until sometime after we left the restaurant for home. I would have had the surcharge removed before paying the bill, had I noticed. Very nice spot for a date or group dinner. Aesthetic decor with nice plants and warm lighting. When we came here for dinner, there was a bachelorette group here for dinner which was cute. We came on a Saturday night and it was a full house up until around 7:30. We made a reservation for 7pm but happened to be in the area earlier so came around 6:45. Service was a little slow but when our food finally came, everything was pretty tasty. We got the pad Thai, si krong moo yang (charcoal grilled pork ribs), and khao soi gai (yellow curry noodle with chicken). Everything was flavorful, ribs were fall off the bone tender, pad Thai included tofu, prawn, chicken and egg. Dishes are a little on the pricier end, and wish the portion size for the ribs was a bit bigger, but everything was tasty and the place really is a vibe. I was doubting Asian food in Sebastapol but had to try Khom Loi after walking down Florence Ave and seeing the huge floor-to-ceiling rolling doors that opened to a GORGEOUS interior patio area. Khom Loo is my FAVORITE Thai restaurant HANDS-DOWN!!! As a Chinese/Cambodian-American, Southeast Asian food is my favorite cuisine and Khom Loi took my favorite comfort meals to a whole other level. My family cooks some delicious Gu Chai (Chive Dumplings) but these were SO crispy with fancy chili crisps from local business Big Spoon Sauce Co. (I literally just tried and bought their chili crisps that morning at the farmers market) The vermicelli fish balls were SO refreshing on a hot summer day, but their nam jim jaew sauce was not very dank or as flavorful as I would want it to be. Fish sauce fried chicken was SO DELICIOUSLY JUICY, CRISP, FUNKY, AND SAUCY! I heard it gets incredibly packed at dinner time and it's hard to get a reservation. But at noon on a Sunday when they just opened, it was really empty and the waitress told us to sit anywhere. Incredibly kind staff constantly checked in on us. Definitely 100% deserves to be on the Michellin Guide. Honestly life-changing food for the priI'm pretty devastated that I would have to drive all the way back to Sebastapol to eat this food again. read more

A friend of mine took me to Sebastopol and it was the cutest town. We ate at Khom Loi which is right at the end of the street with iconic trash art. Everything we tried at Khom Loi was so good, but my favorite dish would have to be the Thai Fried Chicken. It was flavorful, crispy, and well balanced when paired with the fresh vegetables! I came here for a wonderful birthday meal. At the ripe age of 45, I've been to quite a few birthday meals, and I've learned some things, and have grown a little wiser. (Just a tad.) When I was younger, I'd want to go to a 'fancy' meal for my bday. I'd go to these 'new american' restaurants with a pricey tag. And some were interesting, flavorful, and worth it, but honestly, many were not. I'd end up leaving there feeling like I spent a lot of money on some mediocre, hyped up food with not a lot of flavor. And so over the years I've learned. Really, if I want a good birthday meal, it's gotta be something with a ton of meat (like brazilian steakhouse re: see my review on Show de Carnes), or it's gotta be ethnic. And when I was researching on where I wanted my birthday meal to be, the pics at Khom Loi spoke to me. "That looks freakin tasty," the pics said. If you haven't already gathered by the 5 stars, the pics spoke correctly, Khom Loi was amazing. We had the chive dumplings, the thai fried chicken, eggplant salad and duck sizzling soup and all of it was innovative, full of flavor, and delicious. This place was great because it wasn't your typical thai place. Every dish had a 'plus 1' in the flavors or innovation of the dish that put it over the edge of a regular thai place. It had that thai thing where every dish was all the flavors -- spice, tang, sweet, umami but also fresh, interesting and innovative. And the beautiful restaurant just topped it off when it came to specialness. With all that combined, the higher pricing felt justified. (Although the duck soup seemed a little high in price, given there wasn't very much duck in it, and it wasn't very big. But the soup itself was incredible). And so, with that, I'm glad I listened to my wise food radar. I will be back for future special occasion meals! read more

I thought I had completed this review earlier unfortunately the pictures I took seemed to disappeared I thought that this was an awesome restaurant some of the best food that I've had. I had the pad Thai and my son and daughter-in-law shared their baked fish. I wish I had the pictures because the presentation was beautiful. The food was extremely delicious and we all loved it. We've heard good things about Khom Loi and seen the absolutely beautiful building when driving by. So we thought we'd stop in one weekend evening. Ha! Not a chance - they're booked. Okay let's try again for happy hour on Sunday, this time with a reservation. They've got a small parking lot behind the building. The main restaurant is quite small but they have a "patio" that is still mostly inside that expands their seating options greatly. It's truly a lovely atmosphere. Staff is friendly, but it did seem as though they neglected the patio a tad, even though it's not fully outside or outside line of sight. Maybe it was a shift change. Not sure. The restaurant aims to source ingredients from the bounty of Sonoma County while utilizing techniques from Thailand. Prices are certainly more Sonoma County, however, with a nut appetizer being $5, a salad at $16-17, and main dishes $18-$45. Lunch doesn't seem to be any cheaper. So I definitely recommend the happy hour to save some bucks, it's 3-5pm daily and has five dishes. We tried the "Thai peanut crack," fried chive dumplings, Thai fried chicken, green papaya salad, silken tofu salad (aka known as all five dishes on the happy hour menu). From the dinner menu, we got the green curry with sweet potato and tofu and either the pad see ew or drunken noodle (I forget which exactly). We also got some sticky rice. I also got the thai tea. Surprisingly, no cocktails are served here. Overall, everything was very tasty and flavors were great. I thought portion sizes could've been a bit larger - for example, more actual sweet potato and tofu in the curry to balance the broth. In conclusion, service and portion per price - three stars. Atmosphere and flavors - five stars. Averaging out to a four! read more

Like others have commented I also found the food incredibly bland even though we ordered our dishes at medium spice (pad Thai, dumplings and mushroom salad). The food was fresh and reasonably priced but going in to satisfy a craving for Thai food and ending up with something that fell so far short of what I know Thai food to be was really disappointing. This was an interesting restaurant. It's the style where the kitchen does things in the order they see fit and then the food comes out when it comes out. So with our large party of 8, we got our food at all different times. Roughly pretty close together but one of us waited a solid 10-15 minutes after everyone else got their food which was kind of odd. We all felt bad eating. Anyways, that aside, I got the massaman Beef curry. The flavors of this curry were not super exciting to me as I play with many similar flavors in my at home, however, the hints of coconut along with the warm spices and fork tender beef shank was quite a delicious combo. The sweet potatoes in there were the cherry on top. Getting a bite of the coconut crema type sauce on top with the potato and beef was just so good. The flavors here would have been very approachable for anyone- nothing screamed "thai flavors" extremely loudly. I have to mention though, $27 for the curry + $3 for some jasmine rice on the side was asinine in relation to the portion. If I had to put a rough estimate on it, there was about 4oz beef shank in this dish not including the sauce or anything. Full disclosure, we made a pit stop to grab some food that we could not leave CA without getting about 1-1.5hrs before dinner. If we hadn't, I would have been very upset with my portion. So, 5-stars on flavor, I won't knock anything off for one of us getting their food much later than the rest since we had such a large party, those things happen, based in value, I'd probably give a 3/5. There really just wasn't enough food for how much I paid. read more

I absolutely LOVE the pad thai from Khom Loi! Id even say it's the best I've had in Sonoma County. It has been my go to pad thai spot for years and has never failed me. Not only does it taste amazing, the portion size is great. My little one is also a big fan of their fried chicken option on kids menu. The setup inside is unique to other restaurants in Sebastopol and aesthetically pleasing . The staff has always been super attentive and friendly whether I've dined in or ordered take out. Parking may be a pain sometimes, but it's worth it! read more
