The restaurant is really nice and open, big windows open up for a nice outdoor feel, the night we were there though, could've used the AC because it was hot. The service was great and attentive. Food was delicious and priced well.

Mandarin Kitchen was cute and had a nice vibe. We only tried the lychee martini and the bang bang chicken, but both were solid, especially the bang bang chicken. I wasn't overly excited about the menu at first glance, but it's definitely a place I'd come back for lunch or dinner to try more options.

I've come here more than a handful of times and always leave happy. One time I didn't like my dish and that dish is now off the menu, so I guess I wasn't alone. Most recently came in for dinner with my dad. We shared a dozen oysters that tasted fresh and delicious, great mignonette sauce. One oyster looked a little questionable to me, and they promptly replaced it. We both ordered the pad thai and it hit the spot. I have been ordering it other places, and it just hasn't tasted right. This time it did, and I am already craving it again! It comes with chicken, tofu and two plump prawns. Love the aquarium and the mandarin decor! Servers are usually hustling around as it has always been busy every time I've been in; however I'm always seated promptly with no wait.

Food was gross, we got take out and ended up eating a few bites and then throwing 80$ worth of food in the trash. Definitely do not recommend. There were bitter black bits all through my wife's chicken fried rice. Looks like non stick teflon flakes

Came here with husband on a Friday night. It wasn't too busy. Love the big fish tank and decor of the resturant. I can tell the owner thought everything out very well. We ordered the tour of Asian, Singapore noodles, and salt and pepper seafood. Tour of Asia was probably the best of the three things we ordered. Dim Sum tasted like they were frozen dumplings. Bao buns was off with meat to bao ratio. Singapore noodles had ok flavor but I think the wok needed to be hotter for a drier stir fry. I was disappointed with the salt and pepper seafood. I guess I should have read the description better. However typically when you order anything salt and pepper at a Chinese restaurant it's deep fried and then dried stir fried also with not as many veggies. I'm not sure we will be back Overall 2.75/5 stars

This is the first time that we went to Mandarin kitchen. It was a welcoming experience, and the food was ready exactly what they expected. We were welcomed warmly by the staff. The parking in the Montgomery Village shopping center was easy. It was a very relaxed environment and you could even say Zen. We tried to a variety of dishes and I think I may try others in the future. The duck bao was lovely and worth the money. They were presented in a taco shape with a light spiciness in the hoisin, perfectly tender duck, and fragrant and tasty cilantro and pickled veg. The beet salad was fairly standard, especially in Sonoma County. Seems a little strange on this menu, considering the other options that we ordered, but it was nice as I do love a beet salad. My husband ordered the fried rice with barbecued pork. It was fresh and well cooked. It was filled with vegetables and some barbecued pork. The dish was very vegetable forward with a limited amount of meat. Overall, it was a tasty and basic option. I ordered a chicken and peanut sauce with vegetables. What a great option! The peanut sauce had a little bit of heat and a finish of lime. Totally worth it as the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Al dente vegstables are my preference and this dish did not disappoint. My only negative feedback would be that it was quite expensive for the portions. Overall, this was a solid experience.

I've been coming here for a long time and all I can say is I love this place no matter the day! Food, service and ambiance is amazing! Everything from the decorations of the establishment to the presentation on your plate! Also if you are looking for a good place for happy hour this is the place for you

Another fabulous experience here. All the servers are well trained, professional and attentive. Today our server was Ryan. I enjoyed the garlic eggplant last time so much I ordered it again. My friend loved her pumpkin curry. Very pleasant ambience with nice music playing in the background.

I thought?? I'd read a good review for this place and I was hungry and I thought I would get some to go. I was not trying to get their lunch special, it was almost near dinner time and no one asked me if that's what I wanted. I wanted the full size chicken dish that I ordered but apparently got the lunch special? It was half of what I expected plus rice which I didn't need. Way past most regular lunch hours. Even worse in my opinion, I thought it was impossible to get below average chicken chow mein, so I ordered that to be on the safe side just in case but was proven wrong. Their special menu dish was called crispy chicken with cashews. Wow disappointing! I'll show you in pictures and I'm not being a drama queen everything was bigger than the pieces of chicken. I would literally label them shards of chicken. I've never seen anything like this. The mushrooms, zucchini and onion were way bigger than the limited pieces of chicken. Was this what was left at the end of their lengthy lunch hour? Maybe, but that's not an excuse. Also I should've been asked if I wanted the lunch special. The chicken chow mein I would never describe as regular chicken chow mein. It tasted like the vegetables that it's in and again not a lot of chicken- it actually had a strong zucchini flavor to it and I'm not a huge zucchini fan so I added soy sauce which didn't help a whole lot. The woman working there told me their food was amazing and I will be so happy and want to come back for sure! By the way usually my chest is Mongolian beef and they have no beef at all. Anyhow I'm very bummed and I wish them well but I will not be back. Especially for almost $40

[SUN ROOM SEATING] has a live fish tank, panoramic windows & phenomenal natural lighting

On a casual Sunday I wandered into Mandarin Kitchen for lunch & I'm glad that I did. Moderately busy, yet "no wait". I was greeted by friendly staff who inquired about my seating preferences, & then immediately whisked me to my table. I was delighted to observe that the space was very clean, well lit, & offered such a comfy/cozy vibe with clean lines with rich materials used in furnishings. Perfect for a nice lunch, happy hour, brunch, birthday, or date night. There bar seating or sun/moon room seating. Bar seating offer the infamous "THIS MUST BE THE PLACE" fluorescent light, the bar of course, & the kitchen where all the magic is happen. With it being open you can see some of the food being prepare which is always cool! [MY ORDER] Appetizer: Bang Bang Shrimp Entrée: Singapore Noodles w/ Chicken The Bang Bang Shrimp was the best way to start my dish! The shrimp batter was crispy, light, & flavorful. The sauce was perfectly sweet & spicy. This dish was proper above thinly shredded cabbage which I ate along with the shrimp for freshness. Probably enough for two but also perfect for one "craving size" The star of the show, the Singapore Noodles! This dish was phenomenal! I'd order it over & over again! Flavoring of the curry was perfectly pungent yet tamed by the freshness of thick cut bell peppers, squash, & the squeeze of lime was nothing short of divine. I enjoyed every moment of consuming this dish! Plus it never hurts when portions are enough for two or for one with leftovers. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND eating at Mandarin Kitchen of Santa Rosa! I'll be back to experience other dishes most certainly! Thank you for hosting me for my dining experience!

The interior of this restaurant is so beautiful, I could sit in it all day. Very comfortable seating and the workers were so sweet. We mostly came here for the $1 oysters and they were AMAZING. They were fresh, sweet, and paired so deliciously with their vinaigrette! They're only the small side, which makes sense, but I love the size! I will definitely be coming back here for them. We also ordered the bang bang shrimp, har gow, and pad thai. DEFINITELY order the bang bang shrimp! Crunchy and a delicious sweet-savory flavor. DON'T get the pad thai. It was way too salty and had too much oyster sauce. The har gow was just okay, I would skip it next time. Overall, this restaurant was way better than I expected. I'll be back to try the other menu items! If you love oysters, then I definitely recommend coming here for their $1 oyster deal (Mon - Thurs).

    Bang Bang Shrimp

Wow! Such a great experience! Stopped by for quick snack with my kiddo. He had the Bang Bang shrimp and we both loved it. ;) I ordered 12 raw oysters ($1 M-Th) and they were fresh and delicious! Also had an excellent lemon drop. Will definitely be back. Special thanks to Holiday, our supreme waitress!

I came here to try their breakfast sandwich, which definitely did not disappoint. I also took home a couple of desserts for later! The service here is really great! The person who helped us when we arrived gave us some great suggestions! I really like the seating here and it feels nice and spacious. The art on the walls adds a nice touch as well! The breakfast sandwich has fried eggs and white cheddar cheese on an English Muffin. First I love the way they fry the eggs. Crispy, but still with a runny yoke. The cheese is melted nicely into this really yummy English muffin that was toasted really nicely. I also added bacon and avocado, which was a delicious touch. It's a very rich, fatty sandwich, so I asked for some hot sauce plus it's served with a side of pickles which helps to cut the richness as well. I took a few desserts home to try later, and I'm glad I did! The gluten free carrot cake is excellent. Very buttery and the texture is amazing. Not very sweet, but that may be what some people like. The gluten free lemon cheesecake had a great flavor and is dense like a NY style cheesecake. Again, also not very sweet, but delicious nonetheless. The Flan was a 10/10 in flavor and sweetness, but a 6/10 in texture. A little too dense for my liking. Overall, I love this place and will be back soon!

My dining companion's Ahi Poke bowl was equally impressive, and the roasted sweet potato salad was so good it briefly made me question my life choices up to that point. The chicken -- whether in a salad or a bowl -- was tender, flavorful, and absolutely not what I expected from a place with this many kale options. The first time I didn't take as much advantage of this and there's different veggies that you can get extra of. We've gotten the miso salmon, the hummus crunch, steak mezze, and the super green goddess. The flavors have worked well for each of the dishes. I'd say customizing to add more cucumbers and the different sides made it easy to try things out. When going through the menu on the kiosk, it would tell you when things are out though you kind of have to design your own adventure. The steak and was a bit dry, and miso salmon could've been warmer but it still hit the mark. I liked the texture differences for the hummus crunch from the garlic breadcrumbs. Conveniently, I could add those things onto other dishes if they're my preference since there's a number of toppings that cost nothing to add or accentuate. Pretty solid in my book just for that. Of course, adding proteins is generally an added charge so your real decision at first is just which one and what flavor profile you want to go with. I think as long as you pick your foundation right, this gives a good orchestrated way to tweak everything you like about what you get.

Rosé fairly recently in my last trip. i always order the meatballs a la carte/appetizer. and if I get a salad, unless it is to go, o make it a piadine (wrapped on a pillowly soft yet satisfying outer crunchy garlic flat bread almost naan style). yes, you can cut it in half perfect for sharing. if you get the Caesar, I ask for more anchovies on the side. these are the pickled lightly brined white anchivy filets, much done in the same pickling style as mackerel in sushi restaurants. I love cutting to bits and eating with the salad and the pizza. certain pizzas are great with an egg on top, cracked in the middle cooked whites and runny yolk. if you want to make sure your white is cooked all the way, just ask them to add a couple movies for the egg. and they always serve pizza with fresh pepper flakes and parm. the squid is good. You call them upon arrival and they will bring it out to your car which is awesome. Food was ready when we arrived, fantastic! We ordered the 1/2 bucket with umami fries, side of mac n' cheese, and lots of sauces. The meal comes with pickled veggies, slaw, and 4 Hawaiian rolls with nori butter. It's always disappointing to get your order home from anywhere and find a problem, so spoiler alert that impacts the experience for me. I ordered the fries extra crispy and not only did they come soggy as all get out but they also were lacking the umami salt that's supposed to make them special. Everything else was correct but the fries were a disappointment right out the gate. I seasoned them from my spice rack and popped them under the broiler to crisp up. This helped but if they come out of the fryer not crispy the broiler only does so much. Pickled veggies are good. I always love a pickled carrot. The slaw didn't have much flavor I could discern but I added one of the hot sauces on it and it was tasty. The star of the show, the chicken, was ok. I LOVE fried chicken and eat more of it than I probably should, lol. It was VERY crispy almost too crispy (maybe the chicken was cooked well done instead of my fries?). Since it was so crispy this made the chicken dry. Overall, slightly better than meh but not much. Maybe this isn't a meal that translates to go? If we try it again it'll be in person, even though we are literally only 6 miles away so it's not like it traveled far before we got down on it. Glad we tried it out finally but definitely feeling sad it didn't leave me happier for having checked them out. I had higher hopes with all the 4 and 5 star reviews. Maybe we got a bad order but this wasn't a good first showing to make me want to come back and try again. So much sadness.

Here are my thoughts, and yes I am getting into the nitty gritty! Sandwiches- first and foremost the cuts of the chicken they are using are really bizarre, it was in multiple pieces really thin and only covered like 60% of the bun. The bun is decent but texturally could be toasted more. Both The Hot Bird isn't spicy and too sweet in my opinion, there's a lot of the sauce and it makes it a little soggy. The wild bird was good but again the odd chicken piece took away from it. We cut them in half and one of the halves literally only had 1 bit of chicken. Fries-what umami? With a name like that I'm expecting you to punch me in the face with that good earthy robust flavor. This tasted like normal slightly chalky fries. Visually it didn't look like it had anything sprinkled on it. The fries come with pineapple ketchup... or so they say. We definitely got gochujang sauce. Again... meh! I love fried chicken sandos, but it was just okay.

We even met the owner, who made us feel right at home. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. Mamma mia!

From the outside, it's a pretty unassuming building. When we walked in, I got more of a diner vibe than an Italian restaurant. The décor is simple and straightforward without a lot of frills, but we were there for the food, not the décor. We were seated almost immediately, and our waitress was friendly and laid back. She also let us know that we had arrived just in time for happy hour, so naturally we had to order some drinks and appetizers. We tried both the red and white sangrias, which our waitress had made fresh that day. They were refreshing and hit the spot. To start, we ordered the calamari and shared a Caesar salad. We also enjoyed some of the house focaccia bread. For our entrées, I chose the Lamb Ragu while my wife went with the Pappardelle Bolognese. Everything arrived in a timely manner and came out hot and fresh. The calamari was crispy and well prepared. The focaccia was good, although I would have preferred it served warm. The Caesar salad was flavorful and the perfect size for sharing. The lamb in the Lamb Ragu was cooked perfectly, and the pasta had a great texture and chew. The Pappardelle Bolognese was hearty, meaty, and equally well executed. Portion sizes for both dishes were just right and satisfying without being overwhelming. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant dining experience. My only critique is that both pasta dishes could have used a little more seasoning, particularly salt, to make the flavors pop a bit more. Aside from that, Eddie's delivered a good Italian dinner with friendly service and good value.
