Who knew we would find amazing Chinese food in Cotati. We recently moved to Sonoma County. We have been looking for good Chinese food. Today we found it. We celebrated Lunar New Year. The food was outstanding, the service was friendly and efficient and decor and atmosphere were charming. Reminded me of restaurants in Beijing.

It was the day after Thanksgiving and we wanted to go out for a bite. I didn't realize that most places are closed the day after the holiday. Third stop did the trick. I remembered we used to often get food to go from here when we were driving into town and my folks enjoyed their dishes. We were happy to see that their doors are still open, especially the day after Thanksgiving. We ordered their lunch specials which come with soup and fried rice or steamed rice. Chow mein is optional with a little extra charge. The gentleman brought us cups of hot and sour soup which hit the spot for us. Each sip was a comfort and a great way to start our meal. Eggplant with garlic sauce & chow mein - great combo of flavors on the eggplant. One of the better places that serves this dish. Green beans with beef & fried rice - tender slices of beef and the green beans were cooked nicely. This dish worked for me. I was afraid this dish and the fried rice, which appeared dark, would be too salty but it was flavored really well. As we enjoyed our meals, I noticed there were many people who stopped by to pick up their to go orders. The gentleman is very efficient and takes care of his customers promptly. He stopped by our table to see if everything was okay and he refilled our waters. It's been a few years since we stopped in but we were happy to find that their food is still delicious and satisfying. Located in an older strip mall with plenty of parking available. They face Gravenstein Hwy.

Wow the portions and the flavor were amazing!! This little place packs a great flavor! Kung Pow! And Pork Fried Rice!

I had an amazing experience here at this cute restaurant! I was on my way back to my room as a business traveler and found Amy's on Yelp! Went in and they cooked me up some Kung Po and Pork Fried rice and brought it to me when finished in my car! Such a sweet gesture that a greatly appreciated! The food was outstanding right along with the people!

I've done a few pickup orders as well as DoorDash here several times. The staff here are super nice and it's a great place for a fresh, well balanced meal. I love the Happy Family dish as well as the Orange Chicken. Tonight I ordered Mongolian Beef with Green Beans and it was delicious.

My wife and I were in Cotati late into the evening and were hungry for dinner. I suggested and was craving Chinese food. I found Amy's Chinese Kitchen on Yelp and the reviews looked great! We decided to give them a try and were pleased. We were greeted at the restaurant entry and seated. We were offered drink orders promptly. We decided on the Manfarin dinner combination for two people. The servings were quite generous! The wontons were warm, crispy and fresh, delicious with the sweet and sour sauce! The wonton soup was very tasty and delicious! The crab rangoons were some of the best I've ever eaten! The sweet and sour pork was perfectly prepared, delicious with lots of veggies too! The almond chicken was perfectly prepared too, both entrees were perfect! The portions were quite large and we brought at least half of it home. The service was very impressive as one man hosted people, took orders, served meals and drinks, and provided outstanding customer service all the way around! We were checked on repeatedly and were highly satisfied. Thank you very much for an exceptional first-time dining experience! We will be back!

We have gone multiple times since Amy's been around. On Christmas when barely any other restaurants were open they were very busy and working so hard. I was thankful that they were there and I was going to get some delicious food. The chicken chow mein is very good. The mooshoo chicken is a must if you haven't tried it and you can't go wrong with the Beijing beef. Food is always delicious. The hot and sour soup is perfect on cold days. We are always happy with our takeout from here.

Ask the Community - Amy's Chinese Kitchen

Is this restaurant anything to do with the Amy's Drive-Thru and brand or totally separate? Thanks. Just curious.

No, it is not the same as Amy's Drive-Thru Kitchen. Amy's Drive-Thru is a vegetarian restaurant. Amy's Kitchen is Chinese cuisine.

They also have private dining areas for groups. The waiter let me know lunch service was over, but he would include soup in my meal. I looked over the large menu, and decided to get something simple. I ordered: - Wor Won Ton Soup, Small $13.65 - Potstickers, House Made, (6), $11.95 - Ice water w/ Lemon, free Okay, I thought the Wor Won Ton Soup was a little skimpy for $13.65. It only had 6 dumplings, some chicken, and lots of veggies. It's clearly a dinner soup, but it's not priced that way. The house made potstickers were very good. They were plump and juicy. They were perfect with the soy vinegar sauce provided. Service was very attentive. I was seated near the wait station, and the waiter seemed to be expecting me to ask for something. Maybe because there's no condiments on the table. I did ask for chopsticks. This place does alot of takeout and delivery orders. Overall a good experience. I might come back and try the claypots.

The wait staff is very straight forward and to the point. Some may find this rude, while others may find this efficient. They are also very friendly once you go more often and they get to know you. They are quick and food comes out as ready, which I appreciate to get it hot (rather than waiting on everything all at once). Their lunch special is a killer deal. Typically a small appetizer, cup of soup, and choice of entree with fried rice or chow mein for around $10 or so. We typically stick to the pork fried rice, vegetable chow mein, princess chicken or orange chicken, spicy green beans, and spring rolls. My husband loves their sweet and sour soup on the lunch special, I prefer their wonton soup (which they will exchange for you if you just ask). There is plenty of room inside, and the other half of the building can accommodate large parties or private gatherings.

The broth was delicious, and they were lots of goodies. The veggies were not too hard or too soft, the shrimp were tender and flavorful, and I loved the wontons. It was a very good soup. The chow fun wasn't as successful. It was a bit oily. I could actually feel it leaving a film on my lips. Saying that, it was tasty. Again, the proteins were tender and flavorful, they just need to cut down the oiliness a little bit. There was enough food, that I got several meals out of it. The price before the delivery charge was very reasonable, for the amount of food that I got. I would order here again, and I would order that soup again in a heartbeat, but this time I would try something else besides that chow fun. Thank you.

Unfortunately, to us this was mediocre at best. We tried the Mongolian beef chow mein, and we're expecting actual Mongolian beef with the onions in the crispy rice and the peppers, but it was only meat on top of chow mein. We were also excited about the chow mein because the noodles had such great reviews. We found them to be flavorless and had to add a ton of soy sauce. Then we tried the orange chicken, which sounded delicious by the description and the reviews. It was chicken thigh, meat, and a pieces were quite different. Some of them were tasty, and some of them were odd. I don't know that we'll be back, probably not.
