We have never been to acre pizza before. But our friends came over for game night last weekend and they suggested Acre. they stopped and grabbed it on the way over. We all really loved it !! They got some Cesar salads for everyone to share and different slices for everyone. The kids got cheese slices and loved it. The Cesar salad was very good and nicely dressed, yummy croutons! Me and my husband got the New York hot honey pepperoni slices and they were soooooo delicious! The slices are pretty large and we just reheated everything in the oven and it all tasted great!!! The price is also good for what you get and how big the slices are! There was zero food left by the time we were done. Everyone , including the kids, ate all their food! They use all fresh and local (if possible) ingredients. I ordered a 1/2 NY Gretzy (Pineapple and Prosciutto) (sans jalepenos) and 1/2 NY Fungi (Mycopia & cremini mushrooms, spinach, mozzarella, fontina, red onion, Matos cheese, Pecorino Romano, EVOO, lemon zest) (sans red onions). Had the luck to try Acre after an event at the community center. Initially just got a slice of the roasted broccoli, but because that was so good, decided on getting another slice of hot honey pepperoni and the funghi. All the pizza slices were incredible. I may have a pizza problem, but I call it love at first site. The pizza here is heavenly and I've only had the basics. I cannot wait to try the specialties. The sizes of the slices are huge and easy to share. There is limited to no seating inside with a few seats outside. Fresh ingredients for sure and fermented thin crust makes my day with pizza. I just had the 'slice', which is technically two slices (which could equal one large one in some other places) and enjoyed it. Very thin crust, decent toppings though yes, there could be more cheese but at least it wasn't overly greasy. I do need to come back and try more though it is a bit pricey and the weather has to be right to be comfy inside and out. Salads look great and they now have a pasta restaurant next door or close by. No TV if you're looking to watch while you're eating. Counter staff was nice and either shy or just not too friendly. We just bought a Detroit style pizza from Acre in Sebastopol. It was full of mold. We called the store and they just blew us off. We contacted the manager and never received a response. We suggested that they check their dough to safeguard other customers, and again they just blew us off. Telling us that their dough (which they say is fermented for 72 hours) is OK without even checking. Clearly Acre does not care about its customers. read more

I will agree with all of the comments that this place makes the pizzas with very fresh ingredients. However, the pizza we ordered had ranch and chicken and honestly the ranch overpowered the whole pizza. I expected there to be a light drizzle of ranch however, as you can see in the picture, there was literally ranch in every corner of this pizza and it was a little bit too much for me. Now the lemonade was actually really fresh and delicious 10 out of 10. We also got the rice crispy, which was also very good not pictured here, but it is a generous size we were able to share it between two of us, but honestly, you could probably share it between three people. The meatballs were actually pretty good. I was a bit surprised given some places are hit or miss with meatballs. But these were pretty good. Service was OK. I will add that we did pick up so our interaction with the staff was very limited. There is seating outside as well as seating inside from what I saw. It's not your typical pizza shop as it doesn't have a ton of decorations like most pizza places but I still think the spot is pretty cute and aesthetically pleasing, especially for Sebastopol. This is one of several dining places in the Barlow community and they rely more on ceiling fans than AC. They'll open the garage door at either end of the restaurant for additional cooling in August. That of course means that there will be a couple of flies that are more than happy to join you. We came here for a couple of slices and a salad. It's basically slightly upscale food court mall grub, at a premium price. However, one claim of fame is that they ferment their dough for 72 hours and I like the fact they do have beer on draft. Their salads are super fresh and chocked full of good ingredients. One big plus, is that you can order just a slice of pizza and a drink with or without a salad. That was a deal maker for me since I didn't wanna buy an entire pizza since it was just lunchtime. There's less than 10 tables in the small space inside, but you can dine outside under an umbrella. Your slice of pizza might come out on a paper plate, but the salad comes out on a real one with real silverware. We just picked up a Detroit style pizza from the Acre store in Sebastopol and found that it was full of mold. We called the store and were essentially blown off. For the safety of others, we suggested they check all their doughs, and again out concerns were ignore. My family and I came here one evening and enjoyed the ambience with a band concert going on outside. We had a pitcher of beer and ordered the patron pizza which is seasonal and pesto pizza and a slice of broccoli. Will travel miles and acres for Acre Pizza, and we did just that! My hubby and I saw that they offer various vegan pizzas and made a point to stop in when we were visiting from out of town in June. It was just about one of the best vegan pizzas we've ever had, which is saying a lot because half my family is full Italian and I've traveled a lot throughout Italy trying the best pizzas in the world! We happened to be back in Sonoma County in July for a half marathon, and without hesitation drove to Sebastopol after the race to enjoy yet another vegan pizza, this time a celebratory one! The New York-style Vegan Fungi pizza is the winning one for us here, and is loaded with mushrooms (mycopia & cremini), spinach, caramelized red onion, EVOO and more. It even tasted great eaten cold the next day (we couldn't finish the entire pizza in one day)! In addition to NY-style pizza, they also offer Detroit-style pizza, which I actually had never tried before. They said it was more of a deep dish pizza with this kind of cheese crusted on the sides. For vegan pizzas, they have 2 of the Detroit-style ones, and 4 of the thinner crust NY-style. Along with pizza, Acre also serves dessert, wine & beer, and is located off McKinley St. in The Barlow. This is my go-to spot for pizza in Sonoma County. The Detroit-style pizza here is an absolute delight. I always order the Detroit Ranch along with a New York-style pizza, and while it's a bit on the pricey side, it's well worth it. Expect to spend around $60 for both pizzas. One thing to note is that the wait time can be quite long, often 25-30 minutes even with an online order. I can only imagine how much longer it might take if you order in the restaurant. Our top tip is to hang and enjoy wine at Region, and have the team order you Acre Pizza to get delivered and enjoy here :) Last year we tried it for the first time and fell in love. Their NY style is good, but I highly recommend their Detroit style! Note their Barlow menu is more limited, so don't fall in love with their larger menu you can get at their other locations and make yourself sad. What we ordered: NY Potato + Bacon - We did this gluten-free and the crust was meh, but I'm used to that in GF - The potatoes are suuuuper thinly sliced and def needed salt - I was expecting a midwest "loaded baked potato pizza" moment, and this just wasn't it - I probably wouldn't order this one again Detroit Pineapple - Now THIS is where it's at!! - Go Detroit here no matter what - they just do it right with crispy edges and thick perfection - I love the heat on this pineapple from the jalepenos and hot honey. - If I did it again, I'd want to add a protein like bacon or pepperoni - The GF Detroit crust is MAGIC - seriously some of the best GF pizza dough I've ever had! Also, taps were all broken so no beer and the only ipa they had in a can was non alcoholic. This was my first time ever coming to this cute outdoor eating and shopping area, at Barstow! I loved listening to the story of how this used to be an old apple refinery/canning facility, and then after years of being shut down a handful of local merchants were able to come and start up their own little shops! It's a very quaint well lit with outdoor playing areas for children and the pizza. Here was delicious!! I'm actually lactose intolerant but I'll cheat every once in a while if it looks good enough. Lol that potato pizza had very light cheese on it and it was delicious!! We probably would have bought our pizza and taken at home but we had our dogs with us and with a large pizza and two huskies in the backseat, we wouldn't have any place to put the pizza for the trunk? No thank you! Lol so we got a piece and split it and it was delicious! Thin crust with good flavor and a lake Crispy texture and the vegetables tasted very fresh with a good texture!! The only reason why I would not give them. A four star was honestly their little outdoor area, which I know they don't have much one can do with nature, but there were 1 million little Nats and flies outside! Lol I'm sure the bugs just wanted the pizza as well so we sat inside, but our poor puppies had to wait out in the car. So excited that Acre came out with their new Roman styled pizza. I've always loved that Acre sourced all ingredients locally, so can really appreciate that they imported flour from Italy to make sure that this new pizza style is authentic. This truly does look like the pizza you find throughout Rome, but with a Sonoma county twist by using local mushrooms, point Reyes blue cheese, and truffle oil. So fresh, airy, and light yet so many incredible flavors. It was a joy catching up with the owner and getting to learn the thought process by the flavor combinations and how he works so hard to keep the pizzas affordable. We had ordered a Detroit veggie with impossible sausage added, the volcano bread, and a cookie for kicks. The pizza was largely burnt on the bottom, and the volcano bread was half burnt on the bottom. This left a looooooooot to be desired and ruined a good portion of what we could eat. Despite this, the toppings for the pizza worked well though the sausage bits were pretty large for bites. The flavor of the volcano bread was good for what I could eat. I liked the pull apart split nature of it and the cheese worked well. Grabbing a quick lunch here turned out to be a good idea! The by-the-slice pizza was filling and tasty. I started with the vegetarian slice (excellent) and then decided to go for pepperoni. It's hard to compare a made to order pizza with the lunch special, but overall the pizza pleased me. Crust was just right, neither too thick or thin, and the flavors were fresh.
