DETROIT STYLE PIZZA SAY WHAT?! Guys, this chicken bacon ranch pizza might be the best I've had. It's a thick slice of focaccia bread topped with cheese, light ranch, a pesto drizzle, chicken, and bacon. Truly a "the flavors are melting on my tongue" kind of moment. For $24, you get 4 slices, which honestly does seem like a lot of $$, but I think the value is there when it comes to flavor, and I felt full after 2 slices. The pepperoni was good too, and we also ordered the NY style Pig and Poblano, which had a bit of a kick from the chili jam. The crust on this pie was also fantastic. Imagine a very large round of white bread, smushed down and slathered with tomato sauce right from the can, some bits of cheese, and cooked until some part of it was almost crisp, then sprinkled with chopped basil. Volcano Bread! Acre pizza has been on my list to try, and it remains there. I popped in but didn't have time to wait for pizza to be made, so selected an already-baked volcano bread from the counter. Service was not the friendliest but times are tough and she might have been having a bad day (it happens) so I added a little extra smile and perk to help change the mood. The volcano bread was a huge, round, thick, dense disc of focaccia-like bread with prosciutto, rosemary, and LOTS of melted fontina on top! What's not to love?! This greasy goodness was not the healthiest choice I could make, but I'm glad I made it anyway. It satisfied my immediate hunger and I had plenty left for a few snacks for me and my man. I'll definitely try the pizza on my next visit. I think they've gone downhill since spreading to 3 locations. We've also had amazing pies at acre that are award worthy. I have to give 3 stars because I'm happy they're close, but I can drive a bit further to Sonoma pizza forestville and get real artisanal taste and consistently amazing...everything. I think charging $32 for any pizza, regardless of the quality, is absolutely fucking asinine, but if you're going to charge $32 for a small Detroit style pizza maybe it should at least be good..? Veggie pizza with sausage, which cost extra so they could put maybe five pieces of sausage on it. Cool. Not very many toppings, cheese was clearly low quality and the pizza was about 80% dough (which was incredibly salty and not very well done). I was quite skeptical when I heard that Acre COFFEE started making PIZZA. As much as I enjoy a good cup of Acre coffee, their pizza is even better! My friend and I ordered a sausage pizza while drinking beer at Crooked Goat. We definitely weren't expecting to be blown away by the pizza -- we were just ordering some food to snack on while we drank. Our pizza arrived at our table piping hot and it was love at first slice. Seriously, this pizza just melted away. The crust was pure magic. I don't usually look forward to the crust, but I did with this pizza! It was definitely more on the greasy side, but in a good way!! Good location in the Barlow. I went there solo on a Thursday at noon for lunch. The only solo option was a slice of pizza for $9. Unfortunately the only pizza available by the slice was a pesto variation. It looked decent but not my thing. I asked if there were any other options and was told no, pesto was my only choice and any other pizzas by the slice would be the same. I left without eating there. So, I don't recommend eating there if you're alone but the full pizza options looked delicious. read more

Well, I've been to this location twice and the Cotati branch once... each time I've had the same experience in both places. Full Disclosure: I don't eat meat. I walk in and look at the selection of slices available. They look great, but each one of the "Roman" style, or thick crust pizza slices always have something weird on them. Truffle oil? No way. Blue cheese? Please! Not! Goat cheese? I'm not the capricious type. These guys are simply trying too hard. We don't need these strong flavors that are objectionable to so many of us. What's the poiunt of putting all this odd stuff on pizza? I don't get it... and I'm not getting it! And: Did I mention I don't eat pepperoni? So: New York thin crust cheese as my only option, all three times. And every time I've eaten it, the same thing happens: It has a vague metallic taste that lingers in my mouth for a long time afterwards. They had a big smile in their face. They seem to be busy since all tables inside were taken. They have a patio with heaters and every single costumer was happy. I really recommend Acre. I've been here a couple times and most recently over the weekend during limited service but take out available. Both times I've enjoyed the food and I look forward to more deliciousness in the future from this spot. For me this is a welcome addition to the Barlow with limited choices for gluten sensitive options without charging an arm and leg for it. I love Acre anyway because the quality always feels like something you want to invest in and for me services are always friendly so it feels good to support what seems to be a lovely local business. I've had the gluten full pizza before (just to try) and it's DELICIOUS, I definitely had high hopes for the gluten free. Of course it is not the same chewy, golden texture of the normal crust but this was still a winner. Flavor is good, not too sweet or overly cracker-like which can happen and does often happen with gluten free. Pizza came out around the same timeline as in pre-COVID times so no real difference in service expectations for us. I love that we could socially distance in the courtyard to enjoy the goodies on site since it wasn't too crowded and dig in while it was still fresh and warm. Not enough sauce, way too much crust, cooked too long and cheese is dry and chewy bordering on brown, forgetting to put salad dressing for salad in a to go order... Sort of random. Made with some of the best ingredients available, including locally grown tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, I am all in with the pizza pies being served up at Acre Pizza! Located in the Barlow complex in Sebastopol, California, which is a shopping center with dining, wine and fresh food options in an outdoor warehouse type setting. Acre Pizza is one of the complex's main dining destinations as there is always a large crowd waiting in front as they also have a large multi-level green space in front of their exterior. It was this crowd that always made me want to make my own visit to Acre Pizza so I could try a few slices alongside the many wine tasting rooms that make up the Barlow. I got this chance on a recent visit to Region, a member's wine bar in which you can choose from a selection of wines in their bottles in which pressurized gas is used to pour it from a terminal connected to their wall. It's all really quite the experience and I suggest everyone try it out with a day pass one day when you get the chance. What is nice is that at Region, they work with some of the food vendors who are also at the Barlow, in which you can order from a curated food menu that they provide and they will bring your food to you as you drink your wine, and luckily enough Acre Pizza was one of those vendors. So after I suggested that we pair our afternoon wine tasting with a pizza pie from Acre Pizza, my group of friends were down to try a pie! What was nice is that the same full menu at Acre Pizza is offered at Region, so with a simple scan of their QR code reader that they provide at Region, you had a list of two types of pizzas from which to select from, thin-crust pizzas and Detroit-style pizzas. There were nine 16 inch round pizzas and seven Detroit-style pizzas on their menu to choose from, and they all sounded exceptional. Two pizzas from their traditional pizzas were catching our eyes, their Salsiccia Pizza which had pork sausage and cremini mushrooms on it sounded amazing, but their Spicy Sausage Pizza that was topped with two types of fresh mozzarella, one from Double 8 Dairy and one from Grande WM, as well as Sonoma County Meat Co. Italian Sausage, Calabrian Wild Oregano, and fresh basil and infused garlic oil. And so we had a choice to make and we opted to go with the latter. After easily ordering and paying for our pizza at the front desk of Region, it only took about fifteen minutes for our pie to be ready, picked up and brought to us by a Region staff member, along with paper plates, napkins and utensils, as we lounged under the shade of their back patio. Upon opening our cardboard box, we were surprised how large our pizza was for 26 dollars, it was sold at an affordable price point, and it was a large amount of food. We all really enjoyed the crust in which our pizza was baked on, as their "old world" baking techniques were really on display. I admire how their dough is fermented for over seventy-two hours, resulting in a light and crispy crust that when topped with the fresh local ingredient was a perfect combination with every bite. Plus the end crust of the pizza wasn't too overwhelming that I couldn't finish every one of the slices I enjoyed, although next time I could use a side of marinara or ranch dressing to make the finished pizza even more perfect. After enjoying our one pizza, it instantly made me want to order additional pizzas from the menu at Acre Pizza as they were perfect for sharing for a group of friends enjoying a couple glasses of wine. Their Detroit-style pizzas were described with such tantalizing flair that any one of their options would be a good fit for my friends and myself, especially when sharing and pairing with any multitude of tastings of wine. The fact that they have gluten-free crust and vegan mozzarella locally sourced from Miyoko's Creamery available on all of their pies only adds to the accessibility of Acre Pizza. The fact that order fulfillment was so timed so impressively only added to our wine tasting enjoyment on this weekend afternoon. At Acre Pizza in Sebastopol, they are making quality pies with quality ingredients, and I know that anyone looking for a little taste of Italy will love this pizza as much as I did. read more

This was good. Real good. We stopped in at The Barlow to get some drinks. My intention was to get some pizza at Acre as well, but when we drove up the line was to the street. After some beers at Seismic, we decided to get something eat before we went over to the Crooked Goat for a "night cap." When walking by Acre, we noticed there was no line. Score!! I had my sights set on a Detroit style pizza, luckily my wife did too. I was hoping it'd be "authentic" Detroit (cooked in a pan). They had canned drinks, bottled Coke and a few beers on tap for drink. We ordered at the counter and grabbed a seat inside at one of the tables. It took about 15 minutes for our pizza to cook, meanwhile I noticed the line extended way beyond the building again. We got lucky! The pizza was small, but it was square and looked as if it was cooked in a pan. Thick, soft crust cheese pizza with the sauce dolloped on top. The only negative, I wish it was bigger. There were four square pieces. I'm a pig, I probably could have eaten the entire pizza myself. Thankfully my wife saved me and ate half the pie. I loved the crunchy cooked cheese that surrounded the pizza. Perfection!! This is a winner. This was an unbelievably good pizza. I will be back. We really came because they had pitchers of beer for $20 but turns out it's a pretty small pitcher. Still a money saver if your going to have more than one. I believe the potato pizza is my favorite. You can truly taste the labor of love they put into their food. Acre's potato pizza is a must try! I would never think of putting potatoes on pizza but the two together... boy is this good! I love the flavor with the thinly sliced russet potatoes, cheeses ranging from mozzarella to gruyere to EVOO and seasoning including rosemary and house-made garlic oil. This pizza is more complex than your average pizza. I recently had some friends try this pizza during a visit to the Barlow and they were a little skeptical at first but were pleasantly surprised! In addition to pizza, they offer salads, meatballs in marinara and cheesecake for dessert.
