My boyfriend and I are so happy Fieldworks came to Montgomery Village! We stop by often for beers and eat there a decent amount too. They have thin crust and Detroit style. They have some staple pizzas that stay around and then it seems they have a season flavor or two that changes out. I enjoyed their gourd pizza last fall! The kale caesar is a good choice too; love that they put egg on it. They have a variety of beers and always have a sour or two on tap, which I appreciate because I only drink sour beer. My current choice is the Raspberry Parfait fruited sour ale. My boyfriend enjoys their west coast beers and most recently loves their Belgian Pale Ale Chloe. Theres seating inside and outside and you generally order with the QR code found on each table. If you sit at the bar, there aren't QR codes and you order with the bartender. Seating outside around the fire pits is communal. Staff are generally nice and helpful. Shout out to Jordan who is always on point - 5/5 stars and beyond for Jordan! read more

Like others have said, it's a pretty sterile experience. No one greets you or helps you with your food and drink choices. You're strictly on your own. The decor and furnishings are pretty austere and have been described as akin to an airport lounge. That's pretty accurate. There's no personality or comfortable ambiance to enjoy. It's a self-serve place that uses a QR code ordering system. The only person we interacted with was the runner who brought out our food. We asked her a couple questions about the food, but she had no idea about any of it. She was nice, but just wholly uninformed. The food was a mixed lot. The Ceasar salad and sautéed Brussels sprouts were very good. The pizzas were not. It was an OK experience, but not one we'll soon repeat. I wouldn't necessarily object if someone suggested going there, but short of something like that, I don't see going back. It'll be interesting to see if this place is still here a year from now. read more

If you're in the neighborhood, and just want to sit and hang, sure you may consider this. I have not visited any of the other locations however I have had the beer at the Giants ballpark and enjoyed that experience. My dining partners and I visited on a weekday at dinner time as we were in the mood for pizza and beer and had not yet visited as we have our standard favorite spots for this type of meal but decided to venture out. I have to say, given the experience, I will likely stick with my standard spots as this missed the mark on various factors. We seated ourselves, found QR codes on the table encouraging us to place our order. Just as we were about to enter payment, one of the staff members came over and offered to help. This was great. I will say. The staff were friendly and the few interactions we had are what are earning the points for this restaurant/ brewery. We ordered 2 lagers and I don't know if the tap lines get mixed around often but the lagers didn't have the same crisp and carbonation level as those at the ballpark. In fact, one of the major highlights of this beer have been that it's not normally hoppy and hits just right on a hot day when you just want an easy drinking beer. The Montgomery village location was not the best offering of these beers. The other miss was that we arrived to a nearly empty dining room but as we looked around, the tables, including the one we sat at looked like they were not adequately staffed as they had not been cleared and remained uncleared for the duration of our visit. Our table looked like it had not been wiped down from the previous party and they just cleared any plates/ glasses. The ambiance gave me high school cafeteria vibes given the lack of care given to the cleanliness. We waited for nearly 45 Minutes for a regular pizza and personal pizza which was surprising as the dining room was nearly empty and folks sitting outside mainly had drinks and salads. The pizzas were ok but not as good as our standard spot which is a local brewery in downtown Santa Rosa . There's something for everyone though so if you like pizza you decide for yourself. There is nothing in the neighborhood or at Montgomery village like fieldworks so if you want a casual experience where you can linger longer than at some of the fast casual restaurants in the village, give them a try. read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch after taking the Dog to the vet. The space feels very clean and inviting, and I was surprised at how much seating there actually was between the fire pits, outdoor/indoor seating, and lounge area. I ordered their craft root beer, which honestly was lacking in flavor. It tasted more like a root beer flavored water than a traditional root beer. I also ordered a personal margarita pizza and I thought it was a very solid pizza. The crust was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, and the marinara sauce wasn't too overpowering. They brought a water bowl out for my dog, which was a nice touch, and made us feel cared for. I will say I wish they had more non-alcoholic drink choices. Although they are primarily beer focused, it's always nice to have options, especially for mid day stops. read more

I was back in santa rosa for the weekend, so had to try a new restaurant while i was there. I was pleasantly surprised by this place and Montgomery Village and the glow up. This place is located where the Cattleman's used to be, and while Cattleman's is nostalgic, I liked this food better. We started with a frosé. I wish I had the strawberry lemonade blended beverage, but alas, I didn't find out about it until after the frosé had arrived. It was ok and good for the weather, but I didn't like they put peach in it. It was definitely really hard at first, so if we hadn't have been sitting in the sun, it would have been annoying to drink. The fried pickle spears were up next. I love pickles, but my first and only time trying fried pickles was when @alicia threw a little soirée add had them. I decided to try these ones, and they were good, but I think I prefer the chips to the spears for fried pickles. It makes for a more even ratio of breading to pickles. Good fry on these tho. Liked the sauce they came with too. Omg the garlic fries were incredible. Great amount of garlic. Perfect fry shape. The fries almost tasted garlic infused rather than just having garlic sprinkled on top like most garlic fries. Wish they came with a garlic aioli tho. The caesar's, both kale and regular, were yummy. Excellent crispiness of the lettuce. Good amount of dressing. I wish it was more anchovy heavy, but I always think that. I liked the radish, but I do wish they put more pepper on it. The first shishito pepper I had was insanely spicy, and it kind of scared me. I persevered though, and the rest weren't nearly as spicy. I love a shishito pepper and love when they're on the menu. The pizza was yummy. It paired nicely with what we got, just a tiny bit of meat for an otherwise vegetarian girl lunch. Thinner crust if that's what your into. Cheese did slid off a little at the end which was a bit of a bummer. Perfect ambiance outside for a summer day or evening. Love the vibe of this place. Came with some co-workers to catch up. The staff was super welcoming, friendly and accommodating for a large group. I love that you can order through your phone using the QR code on the table individually which helps resolve sorting out large bills. First time visiting here as every time we have walked by it was packed. This time, we stopped after the lunch rush and almost had the place to ourselves. We started with the Black Diamond Pizza, crispy crust, flavorful toppings, and just the right amount of cheese and the Fieldwork Caesar salad. For drinks we tried the Bear Sour Flight was a great way to explore their sour beer options and we loved them all. We also ordered the Cucumber Leon Juniper Fieldwork Supertonic drink-just to try and found them delicious. The service was excellent attentive without being overbearing, and our server made great recommendations. The setting is super welcoming and comfortable, with a cozy vibe that's perfect for relaxing. We loved the fire pits and lounge chairs on the patio ideal for enjoying a nice evening outside. Inside, there's plenty of seating and several TVs, making it a great spot to unwind, catch a game, or just enjoy good company. We came on a sunny Friday evening and the place was pretty busy. We were able to find a table on the patio. You order via QR code. They bring you the food and beers, but you need to grab water, utensils yourself. We ordered a pizza and wings and a few beers to share. We had the best service at Fieldworks! We sat outside and scanned the QR code right before lunch. Our hostess came out with our IPA and waters I asked for. She was so personable and friendly, she also gave us tasters. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have realized I liked non alcoholic beer. I had a taster of the Day Money grapefruit blond, and I really enjoyed it. We stayed for about 3 hours because we were just enjoying ourselves. Later we ordered the multigrain bowl and Brussels sprouts since we stayed longer than we thought. Both dish's tasted great and we finished all the food! The manager was also personable and checked on us. Fieldwork is a newer brewery in Santa Rosa's Montgomery Village, and I think it's a great addition to the area. There's plenty of seating, and the outdoor firepits are a really nice touch for hanging out, eating, and drinking. We ordered beer flights, a caesar salad, brussel sprouts, and a few pizzas, and everything was tasty and perfect for beer food. I did enjoy the pizza crust, but I had walked by the day before and noticed the pizzas looked a lot more fluffy and puffy than the ones we received, so there may be some room for consistency improvement in the future. Fieldwork is also a low-contact setup where you have to grab your own water and order by scanning a QR code on your phone, so a very casual atmosphere. It feels like they're still finding their footing when it comes to service, but I would definitely come back and see how they continue to evolve! read more

I've heard many great things about this place, especially about the beer. I'm not a beer person at all, so that part didn't really matter to me, but my husband wanted to try it, so we decided to come. We were seated in the front very quickly. You order through a QR code, which is convenient, but I'm not a big fan since I had to flag down servers whenever I had questions. Some of them were hard to find. I noticed several servers and food runners stopping at other tables, but they often walked back to the kitchen instead of walking to the front where we were sitting to check on us, which was a bit annoying. My husband even had to walk toward the back to get someone's attention. We had to ask for water and were told we have to refill it ourselves if we need more later. Once we were able to get their attention, though, the staff was really nice. One person did forget to bring the sauce we asked for. So I think the service needs to be improved. We ordered the fried cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, chicken wings, and the Fun Guy pizza. Everything was great! I especially loved the cauliflower and the pizza. The Brussels sprouts were good, but not the best I've had. The food menu is pretty limited--mostly pizza and appetizers--while the rest of the menu is beer, with many options around $3. I love the vibe here, and there's an outdoor area where dogs are allowed, which is a huge plus. I'd definitely consider bringing my dog here next time. read more

Biased review - this is a beer and pizza spot. It is not gluten free friendly so my review is for the folks like me who are gluten challenged but still want to hang with our gluten-full people. The decor is beautiful; they did a great job with the space. I love the vibe, I'm so sad there isn't more for non-gluten folks. They did have wine; there was a single hard seltzer in tap but it was out. I ordered a flight of the non-alcoholic tonics which was lovely. I also took home a can of root beer - delicious! We ordered some fried and split a kale Cesar salad with bacon and no croutons. Good was delicious, service was friendly. Overall experience was great but I'm always so sad to feel so marginalized but I guess what do I expect when going to a brewery. We got to come in on one of their soft open days. We were there bright and early at opening and they were ready for us! This place looks so classy for a brewery. Really sharp and yet warm. Good amount of tvs showing football. So many seating options, couches, tables, bar seating and even outside seating by the fire pit. We have been fans of fieldwork beer for years and their beer was just as delicious as we remembered. I had a couple tart beers, hubs had IPAs and stouts, friends shared a flight. We shared wings, nice and juicy, frickles, delicious, and a hummus plate, very yummy but we were hoping for veggies too. All very good bites and their pizza looked pretty hot and tempting! We are so excited to finally have a beer spot in Montgomery Village! I went to the soft opening and they were running so smoothly. It was actually pretty impressive how on it they were. We ended up going 2 more times within the same week. What can we say? We love the beer and the fact they have a full kitchen is a massive win. They still use the QR system which they've been using for awhile now and it's so nice for large groups or anyone that would need to be splitting checks. They make it so easy for everyone! The vibe of the space fits well with Montgomery Village. I was surprised by how high scale it felt but that's how all the shops and restaurants around there are so they fit right in. This is a fun new place in Montgomery Village. This really isn't a brewery, as it's more of a restaurant that has a lot of beer options. It was a busy Sunday evening. We actually had a reservation for 6:30, but all the shops online said they'd be open until 6pm so we planned on doing some shopping before we ate. Yeah, that was wrong, and all the shops closed at 5pm and we were left wondering what to do. Luckily, in spite of being extremely busy, they were able to honor our later reservation and sit us at the first open table a minute later. The beer menu is extensive, but they offer small tastes so you can get an idea of what you want. They really have something for everyone. My eldest loves sours and they had a few options for her as she got a flight of four. I wouldn't call him a waiter, but one individual kept walking by offering to let us try samples of their beers. Once again, helpful because their descriptions aren't very helpful. Oh, you have the option of ordering from and keeping track of your tab on your phone. Very easy, so you don't have to attempt to flag someone down. Once ordered on your phone, your drink comes rather quickly. For food, same thing, and their pizzas come in either typical round, regular crust or Detroit style. I love Detroit style, so that was where I gravitated. My wife ordered a wrap and daughter another Detroit style pizza. One odd thing, my wife's wrap came out maybe 10-15 minutes before our pizzas. A bit awkward. When the pizzas finally came out, they were very good. I like the lounge area that surrounds the large TV (that had the 49ers game on). Couches, seats all facing each other for a social, casual setting. There is an outdoor seating area around fire pits. It didn't seem too popular on a cool evening, but there were a few people out there having what appeared to be a good time. I was very happy with our choice for the evening. I live on the other side of town, so not sure how often I'll be stopping by, but I now know this is a very good option when over here around Bennett Valley. read more

My husband and I stopped by this weekend as a little date night and once again we had an incredible time. We arrived a little after 7pm on a Saturday night and it was packed! We were greeted by the friendly host, initially we asked for a table for two but the wait time was about 35mins. She mentioned the couches were open for seating and we could order drinks and food if we wanted, which actually worked out perfectly because we were right in front of the T.V. and my husband is constantly watching football games to keep up with his fantasy league. We ordered two round of drinks which arrived really fast and we also order their Pineapple express pizza which I saw was only around for a limited time, and WOW! I think it was the BEST pineapple pizza I've ever tasted. It was fantastic! The pineapple was sliced in thin slices, so it wasn't chunky pieces all over the pizza. The ham was juicy and the jalapenos added a nice kick. I really hope it stays for good. read more

Confusing, loud, and super-corporate. This isn't a local pub - this is a corporate interpretation of a pub, and is about as impersonal as an airport lounge. First and foremost - the Tech interface is cold and corporate. There is not much service here. Fieldwork has cut the employees out of typical tip-based service. How much are you supposed to when you have to do all the ordering yourself. To order, you have to scan a QR code on your phone. The menu is confusing and LONG. It's not intuitive, and drink descriptions are not avaiable when adding to a flight - so you have to know what you want before going into that part of the app. I didn't see any paper products around - and had to ask a couple of times napkins. And silverware. To check out/pay, you have to provide them with your email and phone number. I don't care for this. The ordering system also makes it impossible to, for example, share a pizza with a friend. "Assistants" queried about this suggested using Venmo. Seriously? It shouldn't be this hard. It did not appear they have a provision for accepting cash? To make matters worse, we had to get help to check out - as the app kept crashing while we were trying to settle our tab (It seemed to not like Apple or Android). I found the chairs awkwardly large and uncomfortable. The atmosphere feels like an airport restaurant. It was ROARING loud. There were a few large televisions around playing sports. They don't have servers here - just cross-trained "runners". This makes for impersonal service, depersonalized service by making everyone a runner instead of having a dedicated server. This also disconnects employees from gratuities, so I don't expect the employees are making more than minimum wage. There is no table service - so employees are going to suffer from this corporate process that cuts them out of traditional service industry tips a gratuities. The bathroom is awkward. It's a hallway of stalls, with two sinks in a common area - which I guess is fine, but it seems like it could be lacking privacy. No paper towels in bathroom. At all. Bear that in mind if you decide to wash your face - you can't really stick your face in the blowers integrated into the futuristic sink system. Nice idea - poor execution. Oh, and the food. It seemed ok? We had fried pickles, and shishito peppers. Both were decent, if not overpriced for what we got. We tried a couple of beers and found the lagers/pilsners/Belgians to be very light - almost to the point of watery. Of those I tried I liked the rice lager the best, but we left before we could try more - as we couldn't figure out a simple way to split a pizza, so we ended up going around the corner to a local place that offers more traditional billing and personalized service. Not impressed at all, and don't expect it to improve based on all the "turnkey" apps and their mediocre corporate beer. I don't see this place becoming very popular once the initial novelty wears off. I don't see any reason to go back. read more

Nice space inside and out, lots of bicyclists like us but no bicycle racks is odd as is the fact that they charge 20 percent more for their beer than other more established brew pubs in the area with excellent reputations. Nice friendly staff though, and while we did not order food the pricing there seems more reasonable. read more

Amazing beer and amazing food for the modern times. The decor and ambience is sleek modern yet welcoming after being seated you scan a QR code with the menu. After placing my order we waited a little to receive our drinks, which is understandable because they were pretty slammed. It's nice that they had a television showing the game. Went to Fieldwork for some pizza and beer. It did not disappoint. The location and restaurant itself are very nice. I left my trophy in my karate mobile and forgot to lock the door but nobody stole my stuff. Truly shows how honorable the community is around here. I wasn't a fan of the QR code for service. Sometimes I needed something and had to find someone to help, but the staff was always nice. As for the food, I started with the fried pickles. They were whole pickles, not slices. Felt like they would've been better as slices, since the whole pickle would slide out of the batter. Got the Hail Mary as neopolatin style and the Bare Knuckles as Detroit style. Both were tasty, but I wish the Hail Mary had more sauce. Tasted a bit dry, but I really enjoyed the charred crust. I ate it all. Not even my expert karate training prepared me for how full I got. This spot would not win 1st in the karate tournament but it would put up a decent fight read more

Went to the new Fieldwork Brewery location in Montgomery Village over the weekend and had a great time. We sat outside by one of the fire pits but elected not to have it on because of the sunshine. Ordering from your phone is easy and the staff bringing it out are friendly. The pickle spears had a perfect crunch and a great batter on them, just wish the lemon aioli had a little more lemon flavor. The Caesar salad was amazing, with cold, crisp pieces of lettuce, a generous amount of cheese and the soft egg elevated the different textures in the salad. The seasonal pizza selection was intriguing, the Pineapple Express, had pepperoni, pineapples, onions and green peppers. Looking for some good pizza and beer? Here's your place! Lots of seating, indoor and outdoor and very roomy. Its kind of a different system, not quite full service. They use QR code instead of menus and you order on your phone or at the bar, then you sit down and they bring it when ready. Everyone was really nice and attentive. The pizzas are really good, very light crunchy crust, lots of toppings. They dont have ice here so anything other than beer is room temperature. Im a water drinker and tepid water isnt great. Went to go check out the new Fieldwork Brewing Company in Montgomery Village during their soft opening. Finding parking was super easy, you'll find tons of street parking or even a lot close by near Avid coffee. It was pretty busy walking up, but we were quickly greeted by the host and brought to a table in the dining area. Inside they have a good sized bar top, plenty of low dining tables, and even a lounge area with tvs towards the back. Outside they also have a couple fire pits with lounge seating surrounding them as well as a handful of tables. We were brought some waters instantly and were told to order everything on our phones through a QR code on the table. They use the service, Toast, so if you're already signed up from using that service before, it makes it easy to pay out and you can also earn rewards that way as well. They have a good sized beer menu, offering everything from light beers to hazy, sours to Belgians. They have a couple wine options as well as N/A beverages. Fieldwork also has a kitchen which we weren't expecting. Lots of appetizers, salads, pizzas, and wraps. We started off by ordering a BYO flight to share. $3 a taste, choose up to 6 tasters. Next up we ordered some food to share as well. We got their roasted brussel sprouts, shishito peppers with no furikake, chicken wings, and the fun guy pizza. Beer came out quick, food was not far behind it. Everything was pretty darn good! The honey Calabrian hot wings were super flavorful with a good kick, the pizza was delicious, very interesting with the porcini cream sauce on top. The shishitos were prefectly charred and had an interesting take with the miso dipping sauce. The beers were good too, we ordered a variety to get a scope of what they had to offer. Considering that I came on a busy Saturday afternoon, the staff was upbeat and friendly. The feel here is noticeably different than their Corte Madera location but I knew their beer was good so it was worth a visit. Right off the bat, this is more of a restaurant vibe than a brewery, so its family friendly. The ordering is done off a QR code on your table and staff is around for any questions. We ordered 2 beers and a pretzel and kept out tab open but when we went to order a pizza we noticed that there was $100 added to our table "by server". The staff did everything to figure this out because my tab was not in their system. They ended up comping our beers & asking us to just pay for the pretzel, which we gladly did...by no means were we upset, I think they were just embarrassed about how many times they had to come over to our table to try to figure it out. I have been here many time with family and/or friends and have had a great experience each time. Even as a large group of 22, we were very pleased with food, ordering and service. The barcode ordering is the best for busy parents on a time crunch (no waiting around for a server; we can cash out when we want. Those over 50 with the one star reviews need to become current on technology). They do offer paper menus for those that hate the barcode. I also find no issue with the bathroom set up. The stalls are completely enclosed and private. As a woman, I do not fear for my safety one bit to share a sink with men. If I did, I would stay home (another ridiculous one star review). So my boyfriend and our friends decided to stop by this place and try it out since it is new the Montgomery Village. First and foremost I wanna say that it is very hip and ideal for somebody that loves to use technology. Upon arrival, they let us know that our table would be a 20 minute wait, which is fine. We sat in some area on the side and scanned the menu and ordered some drinks. My drink was delicious and I think everybody else in my group would agree that the drinks were great. By that point we were told that our table was ready and we were seated at our table. At this point, we realized that there was not gonna be any servers so we went ahead and scanned the QR code and ordered our food. I went ahead and ordered a deep dish pizza with pepperoni and some fried pickles. The fried pickles were mediocre. In my opinion a pickle spears should be bit thinner and taste a little bit better, but that was OK. The ranch was OK, I would probably not order that again. The pizza itself was pretty tasty. Everybody else at my tables seemed to enjoy their main courses. I did love all of the drinks, but I will say that if you are somebody that is not technology advanced , this is not the spot for you because I witnessed the table next to us wait quite some time to close out the check because there was no server taking care of you and closing out the bill. read more

Tried this place for the first time today with my wife. The fun guy pizza and sweet calibri wings are phenomenal. Very good service and quick even when they are busy. It's a modern rustic atmosphere and great place to hang out. read more

VERY CORPORATE! I've seen hospitals with more appeal than the sterile decor of this place. The food was sad and bland. However the service and people were upbeat and attentive, hence the 2 stars. They have yet to be jaded by the VC corporate world. As for the beer, compared to what we have available in Sonoma County and out of a 1-10, I would give it a 3. There was absolutely no love given towards making the beer. I tried a few and there was zero complexity, depth, or freshness about the taste. Every sip was met with disappointment. I agree with some other reviewers about the corporate vibe. However, all of our servers were very nice and helpful. I have no complaints about the food as far as pub food goes, it was good, yummy even. My complaint is really about the main event: the beer. I had the dark lager and my wife the Bohemian pilsner and both were kind of watery. Watery in the sense that the flavor is watered down. In an area like Santa Rosa with all of our homegrown, local breweries that are really above and beyond in terms of flavor, I don't really see why I'd go back to Fieldwork. read more

Every Monday, our group "Da Boys" picks a new spot we haven't tried yet. This time it was my turn, and I went with the brand-new Fieldwork--high hopes all around. We got there and were kinda thrown off by the menu being just a QR code stuck in the middle of the table (pretty sure it's meant to drive us old guys nuts). The server wasn't super helpful, but we muddled through it. Oh, and we all ordered on our own phones so we'd get separate checks. You can probably guess what happened next: food trickled out at random times, so we ended up eating separately while others sat waiting. One guy's order straight-up never showed, so the server had to retake it, and then we waited even longer for his pizza. That said, the food was hot and solid overall. Beer was top-notch, as you'd expect from a brew pub. The outdoor fireplaces were a nice bonus on a chill afternoon--gave us a spot to hang and chat after eating. I'll probably head back, but not sure about the rest of the crew. It's brand spanking new, so give 'em time to iron out the bugs. Seems best suited for the younger crowd or those wine tourists cruising through Sonoma County. read more

What a fun gathering spot for a beer and a bite. Detroit pizza was solid with a great crispy edge, the fries were hot and perfectly seasoned. The ordering via a QR code was seamless and our beers came out super fast even though it was pretty packed in there. We will be back! read more

The service is top notch. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I've been there 2 times so far and have been extremely impressed by the attention and helpfulness by all the staff there. For the beer I've enjoyed the Destination hazy IPA and Becky Zthe Duck IPA. But they have an amazing selection and are happy to provide you a small taste before ordering. I've had the kale Caesar (simple, but super tasty). The acid and garlic in the dressing help tone down the earthiness of the kale, makes for an enjoyable salad. For the pizza, I had the Pineapple Express (yes I am one of those that like pineapple on my pizza), without jalapeños. I really enjoyed it. It came out hot and fresh with a great thin crust. The ordering and payment system is mostly vis QR codes. But they do have paper menus and an option to pay at the bar. I'm looking forward to returning. read more
