Ava was welcoming as soon as I walked in. She quickly gave me the lay of the land (I walked in during Happy Hour, of which glasses are $10 each.) Being a first time patron I opted for the House Wine Flight and charcuterie, so that I could get a little taste of everything. The charcuterie had salami, duck breast, 2 cheeses, nuts, prosciutto and olives/peppers. I'd definitely order this again... a nice smokey duck breast with any glass of wine is fine by me! While I enjoyed each of the wines I tried (Sauvignon blanc, Rose, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Syrah and Malbec), I don't know that any one style screamed out at me more than the next. The Sauvignon and Rose were probably the two more at the top for me. I look forward to not only checking out this cute town again, but also spending some time at Baldassari to see what else they have to offer! read more

We had a fantastic time here. We did tastings and the wine was so good we both ended up buying wine - which covered our tastings. I bought a syrah and my friend bought s delicious can. The wines were all fantastic but for me the rich and fruity syrah was impossible to passon- but I really wanted the cab too - but I had to budget my wine purchases. Looked at several downtown wine lounges - this one caught our eye. The young lady that welcomed us was super nice and had a great smile - my wife and I felt comfortable from the start. We stopped by during a trip to the Russian River, a little north of SF. While I don't have the most extensive wine knowledge by any means, I liked the ambiance and service in here! This place is located in downtown Windsor and is a great place for a little group! The wine flight is about $25, which is affordable and great for the quality! We sampled a selection of reds and they were explained very well by the staff! The service was super friendly and accommodating. My first time here was last October for the Food and Wine Affair our server was Tara and she was awesome she knew so much about the wines and we learned a lot. Baldassari was very well organized for the food and wine affair and we had a truly wonderful experience. This one was number 3 on our list to visit, I had never heard of it before, But after a few sippity sips, I knew that I was in love with their Chardonnay it's so buttery I literally could not stop sipping away! I came back for my second visit and we got to see Tara again what a delight she is, my friend Carol who lives in Windsor she mentioned to me they have free live music on Fridays and no reservations required, so we met up at Kin for dinner and then headed to Baldassari and I'm so happy we did the music was great they had live music, Carol and I enjoyed a full tasting while we listened to the band ahhh what a great night spending time with friends and drinking delicious wines. "A little history'" This is a Family owned winery it all started with Matt and his father started the Baldassari Family Wines brand in 2003 as a tribute to his grandfather. His grandfather,Vincenzo Baldassari emigrated from Italy and lived out the American dream creating a great life for himself in America. He would often take Matt down to the basement of his house and show him the wine he had made. He would make a single barrel every year and it was one of his proudest accomplishments each year. "A passion for quality over quantity, the desire to do it the right way each and every time, and seeking growers and associates that share that same vision and passion" They don't have a lot of wines but the ones I've tasted are delicious especially that Chardonnay and I normally don't drink Chardonnays so for me that I feel it says a lot about how great their wines are here so come on down and set a spell and enjoy Clinkity Clinkity clink. Really wanted to like this place but never got the chance. My wife and I stopped by this Sunday afternoon to try this new tasting room. Walked in and saw 3 people standing by the bar, the place was not busy at all - didn't see anyone working, no one greeted us or said hello nor did anyone have a name tag. Thought maybe they were in the back working. Read through the tasting options and the entire food menu - still no one greeted us or said anything. No one came out from the back either. So we decided to leave and go to a friendlier tasting room. As we're walking out the door one of the 3 people said something about a tasting. Not sure if she worked there or not - she never said hello or I'll be right with you or anything. I really hope this place succeeds but they need to work on their initial impression and make guests feel like they're not a burden. read more
