Was very fortunate to stop by this place recently. Had the opportunity to chat with the owner and even meet the wine maker. What a lovely corner location with great ambience they offer a unique wine tasting and food pairing formere $30 My absolute favorite is the cab franc. Stop by and let TJ teach you all about his wines. You won't be disappointed.

Had a lovely experience here recently. Went with a couple gal pals and had wonderful service. Really like the the wines and the small bite accompaniments really complimented the wine beautifully. Nice small tasting room well appointed. Highly recommended

This was my second visit to Stonemason Cellars, having stayed at a nearby hotel. It was the consistency of the wines and hospitality shown by TJ and Devin that will have me returning again and again. Even joined the wine club, as their wines were wonderful and truly can be considered "hand crafted". Highly recommend their sparkling (La Gare needs to take note, as this is one of the closest small production Methode Champenois wines I've had in this region). The food pairing that accompanied the tasting really highlighted the wines, making a compelling reason to really branch out with so many of TJ's wines. Looking forward to spending an evening here on my next trip. We even reached out after our trip to learn which one of their wines pairs with the delicious Bacon Jam we bought at the tasting room. The Zinfandel did not disappoint!

Amazing experience. Devin was patient and informative for someone who is just getting into wine and learning my palette. He was knowledgeable and able to provide context to the wines I personally enjoy as well as the ones I might want to avoid based on preference. The food pairings were perfect, and added another level to the wine! A must for anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy some delicious wine.

Downtown Santa Rosa has a new player in the wine tasting scene, and Stonemason Cellars plans on making their stay a long lasting one. Located on the corner of Davis and 5th Streets on the ground level of the AC Hotel by Marriott, Stonemason Cellars is so named after being inspired by Batista Maggetti, a Swiss stonemason and entrepreneur who opened the Greystone Winery, which is now the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena. Stonemason Cellars prefers to think of their team members as those iconic living stones that make up the CIA, which are carefully molded and formed by time, where a cornerstone is selected from which a project is crafted, not unlike the grapes in which the wines at Stonemason Cellars are crafted. What brought me here with a friend on a recent weekend afternoon was their official opening of their wonderful tasting room, in which they invited people to enjoy their wine with food pairing in which they are intended to be paired with. Once we entered, we enjoyed a glass of their Elevate White Wine which was a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier and sourced from the Anderson Valley and Sonoma County. With a light almost tropical feel this wine was paired with a cheese and cauliflower combination that really enhanced the flavor of both. For our second pour, we enjoyed their lovely 2021 Pinot Noir, which is locally sourced in Sonoma County near the Pacific Ocean, allowing for foggy conditions that contribute to a longer growing season and a more elegant flavor. With notes of cherries and blackberries, this wine was paired with a nice small slice of mushroom pizza and really went down smoothly. For our third pairing, we enjoyed their 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was bio dynamically farmed from the hills above the Anderson Valley, is a blend of Merlot and Petit Sirah and featured flavors of blackberries and very little tannins, which makes for strong pairings with solid red and white meats, ranging from steaks to pork belly, of which we enjoyed. To wrap up our wine tasting adventure, we enjoyed Cobblestone Cuvée, which is Stonemason Cellars' take on sparkling wine. Nicely balanced and not overly fruit forward in its nature, thanks to a fresh acidity, this sparkling wine can easily be paired with so many different foods from oysters to desserts, of which we enjoyed sipping with Croissant Beignets, which was the perfect way to end our day's adventure. At Stonemason Cellars, it's a family affair, as they were founded by T.J. Elam is supported by his wife, who has a major role with the winery, in addition to his parents, who came to personally talk to us and promote the virtues of their wine. There wasn't much prodding that needed to be done, as my friend and I both found their wines delectable yet easy-going, which would make for great meal pairings and gifts. They were nice enough to give us an extra pour of their 2021 Cabernet Franc which was a members only wine and although still young, it was very good, and representative of the wines that their young family wants to make. Wines and stories like the ones that Stonemason Cellars is trying to bring to the local community are stories that we should be celebrating as they are bringing a fresh energy to Sonoma wine country and with their sleek new wine tasting room where locals and out of towners alike could enjoy a nice glass of wine with some fun food pairings. By naming themselves after the hard work of a Stonemason where their work is a grueling, long, and meticulous journey, yet always worth it when the final product brings the family together, it looks like they've have only just gotten this journey started, and I for one am happy to see them only grow at Stonemason Cellars.

Had a great time at the opening party of Stone Mason Cellars in railroad square last weekend! They do it right in that they have appetizer food pairings with most of their wines!! And their wines are delicious from a white blend named Elevate to their many red wines and then they finished the day with an outstanding sparkling wine named Cobblestone Cuvée!! It's a win to visit TJ and Max (Max is there newer winemaker from France that worked at Screaming Eagle!!).

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Devin expertly guided us through a tasting of the many excellent wines that Stonemason Cellars offers. Also enjoyed meeting Max (winemaker) and asking many questions to learn more about these great wines.

Here with TJ loving the atmosphere and wine!

The Trecini experience is different from what tourists seem to gravitate to, you know the disneyesque/romantic vision of a winery. Trecini is a tasting boutique where one enjoys privacy along with personal attention. Plenty of time for questions from a master at the trade. Tasting only whites, as red's chemical additives trigger a migraine, Cathleen pointed out many of their wines come from Italy with "no" additives. In long These guys are low-key in their packaging and low-key in their approach to self-promotion, but their craft is exceptionally good, especially at the price points they occupy. I've been a club member for most of the last 10+ years and the worst problem is I keep opening stuff even when I should save a bottle or two to try with more age on it. They source mostly (if not entirely) local fruit to produce a nice variety of reds, a couple whites, and the occasional pink. I've enjoyed everything I've tried, some tremendously. They pride themselves on their pinots, which have some heft to them, with tons of flavor, all perfectly in balance. And while they don't make cabs as far as I know, they make wonderfully hearty zins and syrahs. I've purchased aged examples of their syrahs and opened them right away...which is also the schedule I follow for their new-release syrahs I could be aging. They often release a white (with a companion white blend) under the name Winter Sun, which is usually a very small batch. It's one of the best whites I've had. They have made a rosé (I think from syrah grapes?) that's definitely the best rosé I've had. They hosted online tastings with blending sessions during the lockdown. They made it fun to see how combining single-grape samples into a blend could make something average change instantly into a delicious and interesting wine, just by finding the right proportions to meld together. I've been a fan practically since the beginning and expect to keep enjoying their wines for as long as they care to make them.
