We had an interesting but pleasant experience at 4th st cellars. My friend and I were craving wine and opted for 4th St Cellars, the idea of overpaying for a wine bottle to share at a restaurant wasn't something we wanted to do so we were happy with the reasonable prices offered at 4th street. The ambiance is upscale, chic and inviting. Seating is ample - 4th St Cellars offers a two story seating area, bar area seating and beautiful outdoor patio seating as well. For our visit we sat next to the fire place and shared a bottle of Pinot Noir. The employees were both welcoming and accommodating. They offered us a cheese plate to share which was a nice touch, we enjoyed the light snacks with our Pinot. At first the wine bar was fairly empty but before we knew it there was a full house. They had live music which we really enjoyed - the music wasn't so loud it over powered our conversation. Overall I'd give 4th St Cellars a 9/10. My only reservation and slight critique was the odd experience we had when selecting our wine. We asked for tastings of the Pinot and Cabernet before selecting our bottle. We were bought one tasting of each for my friend and I to share - meaning we shared our glass. While we didn't mind sharing germs I found it a bit odd lol. Our thought was we weren't clear in how we wanted to try the wine. Either way it wasn't a make or break for us and we still enjoyed our visit. 4th street cellars is a great stop for date night or a girls night! We will be returning. read more

I met a winemaker buddy here a few weeks ago because I wanted to buy some of his wines - Wes Box is his name and he's making excellent wines!! I purchased his Kerner, and the Black Roses Pinot Noir and the Syrah, his Co-conspirator Grenache, and his Black Roses Sangiovese all beautifully made. So we met up at 4th Street Cellars. And he brought me a glass of their Cabernet!! First thing is I love the atmosphere here, it's tastefully decorated in a dark wood minimalist style. Which is very comfortable!! And the lady working and pouring is friendly and knowledgeable about the wines! They have 3 brands the starting with it's least expensive brand Egret which has a Rose', an SB, a Chard, a Pinot Noir and a Cab all in the $20 range then comes the Bonneau series with a Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Zin and Petite Sirah, plus 2 dessert wines the Nectar of Chardonnay which is a late harvest Chardonnay and very delicious with acidity to create balance and make it better for food pairings and last is a semi-sec Chardonnay made in the style of a Vouvray from Loire Valley France usually off dry or slightly sweet and delicious. I wasn't able to taste the last brand named Opal Moon all they make is a Cabernet Sauvignon made from grapes in Rutherford Napa Valley at $78/btl. The Bonneau Cab is from Alexander Valley and is very good at a price of $48 while the Egret brand is from Sonoma County so everywhere and its price is $29 bucks!! Extremely affordable lighter bodied Cabernet Sauvignon! The lady working gave us a bowl of chips and gave us a choice between that and popcorn an extremely friendly gesture on her part. Wes was drinking a cider!! From a 16oz can. And that was it. A genuine experience on a cold rainy week day afternoon!! read more

This is the only place that is open after 4pm that can provide wine tastings in the Santa Rosa area! This quaint little tasting room is tucked away in Railroad Square and is reasonably priced. They even have a cute patio in the back. I saw that they have live music on some evenings too. My friends and I enjoyed the wine and look forward to returning for another relaxing evening. read more

Prepare for blatant discrimination! If you aren't age 50+, don't bother. My friends and I are mid-late twenties and have each lived across the U.S.--never, until now, have we EVER been turned away! This middle aged, dowdy brown haired woman was convinced that we weren't 21. Please don't put yourself through this ordeal--my friend showed the bartender her passport, and yet it wasn't enough to establish our age. Please don't bother. Go to Stonemason Cellars down the street (who didn't question our ages) --do not bother at 4th Street Cellars unless you are solidly middle aged (and look it). read more

It's surprising that in the heart of wine country they really are the ONLY tasting room & wine bar in Railroad Square and downtown Santa Rosa. What's not surprising is why- I imagine nobody wants to compete with how awesome this place is! The ambiance is great, the staff is very knowledgeable and engaging. and most importantly... the wine is delicious. Swing by for a date night or a tasting. We usually take over the couch area by the fire and buy a bottle (or two) of wine and relax for quite awhile. They even encouraged us to bring in food so the next visit we definitely did! Im surprised it's never been too busy which we appreciate, and they even have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, though sometimes the musician can get a bit loud. Cute place. Stopped by after walking around and before our dinner reservations. Had a couple of glasses of the bubblies and a glass of the Cabernet. Wines tasted good. This place was great! They have fantastic live music and guitar. They have an extensive drink selection and staff are nice. You can order food from other areas and bring it in with you which is nice! I was staying nearby at the Hyatt so the historic Santa Rosa was a 4 min walk. The 4th St Cellars is a little hidden gem. I stopped by alone on a Thursday evening and there was no one there yet. Seems that they had just opened. I was greeted by Jason & Logan. They explained the options and I decided to order a glass of meritage. They explained all the blends in the wine. This establishment sells wine for a nearby vineyard. They have a flight tasting for $25 as well. Soon they will be bringing charcuterie! I heard that Friday and Saturday they have live music too. I have been walking past 4th street Cellars wine bar, ever since they first started remodeling it, I got to say it turned out beautifully! And now I come here all the time it's next to my favorite restaurant! The first taste of the day was the Egret 2017 Rosè of Grenache it was delicious, I'll take a few to go please and thank you!!! It had a nice balance and was refreshing! Well.. well... we are off to a fantastic start! On to the Bonneau 2015 Estate Chardonnay I enjoyed this one a lot, especially surprising for me, because I'm just not a huge fan of Chards. I did buy this Chardonnay the first time I came here for a full tasting about a month ago, along with the 2015 Pinot Noir which we tasted here and guess what?? I still love it! Next on our tasting list was the 2013 Meritage a very nice red. The tasting room is beautifully decorated, and has very elegant clean look and feel. This location well you just cannot beat it!!! It is very close to several really good restaurants well within a block or less! Come on down my friends! Come one come all!!!stop by, have some delicious wine, I was talking to the owner he told me that his customers could bring food from a near by restaurant and eat and do a tasting or buy a bottle or more! Execellent! Discovered this gem after a long day at work; modern and lounge areas to relax and sip wine. Great upstairs area as well. Jason took such great care of us and made our first visit memorable! We will be back with family, friends, and colleagues. There was also lovey live music on the Thursday night we were there. Great music selection for a wine bar. Every wine we tasted we enjoyed! I'm partial to petite sirah, which isn't that common to find at wine bars. It was delicious, bold, and smooth. My husband and I stumbled upon this place on a kid free evening; we had about an hour before our dinner reservation and wanted to relax and have a glass of wine. The cellar was very quiet, there was a woman leaving and the woman behind the counter. I got the Egret Rose of Grenache and my husband got the Bonneau Cabernet Sauvignon. We sat next to the fake fireplace on the leather couch and enjoyed our wine. It was so nice to just cuddle up, like your at home and enjoy a good glass of wine. The woman who was working was very friendly, knowledgeable, but also gave us some space, which was very nice. Before leaving we purchased the Cabernet Sauvignon and tried the Blanc de Blancs, which was a unexpected thing extra. We look forward to visiting again and trying some more wines. I was visiting Santa Rosa and looking for a wine tasting close to downtown. I was glad to see 4th Street Cellars was less than a block from my hotel, so I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. I had a wine flight and found the wines from Bonneau, Egret, and Opal Moon to all be very good. I don't normally drink white wine, but the flight included one of the best white wines I've tasted. I enjoyed talking to the folks working there. They suggested I come back later for live music, which I did. It was a great experience all around, and I was pleasantly surprised with the wine. Back in September I was in the area for my friend's bachelorette party and then wedding. I was in between events and had to get some work done, and I thought a glass of wine would make doing work much more pleasant on a pretty afternoon. I looked up wine bars in the area and called 4th St. Cellars to make sure it was ok I brought my laptop (in case it was a tasting room or some place less relaxed) and the owner said absolutely! The space is really lovely. It's a mix of elegant and comfortable with pretty decor and a gorgeous exposed wood ceiling. My glass of rose was light and crisp, perfect for a warm afternoon. The prices are good and I really liked its relaxed vibe. If I lived closer, I'd go there all the time to do work or to meet up with friends. I'll certainly go back next time I'm in the area! read more

Fun place! I usually shy away from tasting rooms thinking they're limited. Came upon this place thanks to hearing the live music (great job, Craig!) and we wandered in. You can get take out from the restaurants around them in Railroad Square and eat at the bar or tables. Or you can commandeer the fireplace area, the patio OR the upstairs- all at your disposal and with old time SR touches. The wonderful staff will help you with it all. We're already looking at what special events we have in our family to book this beautiful space. read more

Established in 2019.

A relaxed wine bar opened by a local winemaker whose grandparents were grape growers in France. They settled south of the historic town of Sonoma where they bought the land that is now the family’s estate vineyard.

Here on West Fourth Street, you can experience the history of Railroad Square paired with the elegance of wine with its own history. Our wines are all handcrafted by third generation grower and winemaker, John Bambury whose Bonneau, Egret, and Opal Moon wines reflect their provenance. These 3 highly distinguished brands are known as the Bambury wine collection, each with its own distinguishing character: at its heart is the world-class namesake Bonneau line of wine, which every year continues to honor the family's pioneering roots, joined by Egret wines dedicated to saving the environment, and the extremely limited release Opal Moon.

Their Malbec tastes authentic and showed off the winemaker's South American roots. Our very knowledgeable and cheerful guide Nicole, said the winemaker came from Chile. Her descriptions were helpful and she had a friendly, energetic enthusiasm which showed a true love of her job. The was a good full plate of cheeses and salamis available. They even gave us a "to go" cup to wander around the grounds, so overall it was a very generous pour to sample! Highly recommended to book in advance and allow time to explore the grounds.

We stumbled across this property on a recent visit with my dad who lives in the area and I'm so glad that we did. We didn't have reservations but we're still accommodated. Chris took us through our tasting for the day and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and had a ton of great food recommendations for the area. The estate tasting consisted of 6 wines for $35. We were given a delicious pour of their non vintage brut rose as a welcome pour. I enjoyed all of the wine that we tasted through. Somehow during our visit I missed their lavender gardens but that just means I have to plan another visit.

The reds were a pinot noir and zinfandel, but neither really stuck to me. For the whites, it was a sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. The chardonnay was okay but the sauvignon blanc was my favorite out of all 4. Not only does it smell sweet and fruity, but it also tastes like it! I ended up buying a bottle of it to bring home ($35 if you're not a member). Our wine was paired with 12 spreads. All of them were delicious and some were even quite unique, like the sweet pea one! My favorites were the brie, carrot, and rhubarb spreads. Not really sure if I concluded on which spread paired the best with which wine, but they were nice snacks to munch on. If you're seated outdoors, you get a nice view of the vineyard as well as some mountains. There also looked to be some pedal powered trolley, which we saw a group doing but didn't do it ourselves.

In short I can review their wines and their online events…read more If there's any justice, soon I'll be able to review their new Sonoma space, too. In long These guys are low-key in their packaging and low-key in their approach to self-promotion, but their craft is exceptionally good, especially at the price points they occupy. I've been a club member for most of the last 10+ years and the worst problem is I keep opening stuff even when I should save a bottle or two to try with more age on it. They source mostly (if not entirely) local fruit to produce a nice variety of reds, a couple whites, and the occasional pink. I've enjoyed everything I've tried, some tremendously. They pride themselves on their pinots, which have some heft to them, with tons of flavor, all perfectly in balance. And while they don't make cabs as far as I know, they make wonderfully hearty zins and syrahs. I've purchased aged examples of their syrahs and opened them right away...which is also the schedule I follow for their new-release syrahs I could be aging. They often release a white (with a companion white blend) under the name Winter Sun, which is usually a very small batch. It's one of the best whites I've had. They have made a rosé (I think from syrah grapes?) that's definitely the best rosé I've had. They hosted online tastings with blending sessions during the lockdown. They made it fun to see how combining single-grape samples into a blend could make something average change instantly into a delicious and interesting wine, just by finding the right proportions to meld together. I've been a fan practically since the beginning and expect to keep enjoying their wines for as long as they care to make them.

Doug led us around with his orchard companion, Monty, and was very friendly and informative. It is a smaller operation but the experience was more personal and geared towards us. I never knew olive oil could be naturally peppery or cinnamony in flavor. Their oil is delicious and perfect for dipping or dressing. The property is beautiful and full of other produce as well (fruit trees and vegetables). I definitely would recommend this if anyone is curious about olive oil production and is in the area!
