Great ambience off Silverado trail. Cane here with my best friend to do a tasting. Charlie was our host and she was amazing. Super knowledgeable and a terrific host. We tasted two olive oils form their harvest. One was more of the less ripe olives and one was of the more ripe olives. Both were tasty. One more and the other less acidic. Both peppery. The. Came a couple of oils form Italy and Spain. I liked the Spanish one much better and it went well with the bread and was candidly amazing in its own Then rhe balsamic vinegar came. Aged to 18 years the fist was perfectly acidic and quite viscous. The second one an infused with ripe figs for a year. More sweet for me but perfectly balanced. We came in for an olive oil tasting and had a wonderful experience. We made a reservation about 2 days in advance and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions such as vegan for myself. For example, while others had an olive oil gelato, I had an olive oil sorbet with a blood orange gummy. It was really interesting. In no way did I feel deprived or like I was missing out. In fact, mine might have been better than what the others had. That was the last course though. Before that, we did olive oil tastings with bread and popcorn and balsamic vinegar tastings with cherry tomatoes. They used to make all the food in house but now partner with some local places. Amberly also did a wonderful job walking us through details around the tastings and it was very informative. The whole thing takes place indoors and the interior is cute with plenty of olive oil lining the walls. This place is amazing and is a hidden gem of Calistoga. Was fortunate to be told of this place by the fine people at Solage. It's a cute place with knowledgeable and wonderful staff. Dropped in for an olive oil tasting and they have two offerings. We were full from breakfast and so opted for the shorter version - 2 olive oils and 2 balsamic vinegars with a glass of rose. There's so much to learn about olive oil from the trees history, harvesting and the process. It was all fascinating. We ended up buying both a bottle of the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Cute, cute place. We'll be back and will the full olive oil tasting and food pairing. Can't wait! read more

The olive oil is amazing and learning the difference between the varieties is highly informative. There are many places you can do an olive oil tasting but THIS IS THE ONE! My boyfriend and I came to do an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting recently. It was a very nice place with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were really nice and friendly the entire time. Emily - the one who led us through the tasting - is absolutely sweet and made the entire experience super fun! I almost felt bad because we asked so many questions, but she was super welcoming and informative. The different samples of olive oil and balsamic vinegar were really delicious! The snacks paired alongside were really good too. I would have to say the olive oil cake was to die for! We asked if we could have the recipe and turns out they have them on their website!! Did a walk in on Monday morning at 1015 and we were sat down right away. Tour stated it was 45 mins but it was longer. Give yourself a little more time. I was looking for an Olive oil tasting experience and Grove 45 was recommended by our concierge. It was a memorable one! The place is absolutely beautiful and has its own story. As you drive in there is a blue building adored in art which has hold great meaning to the owners. Grove 45 is entirely women owned and operated. During the tasting, we were treated with 4 types of olive oil (we loved the one made from the 2022 harvest and the eevo--- tasted like butter), two kinds of balsamic vinaigrette (traditional and sweet), popcorn with truffle salt, some delicious focaccia and of course a glass of rosae. Kristi and her sweet assistant did a wonderful job painting a picture of Grove 45's history, story, and processs. Their finale was dessert... olive oil ice cream and olive oil cake--- a deadly combo! Amberley, the tasting room associate, was superb in giving us a history of olive oil in both in Europe and in California. The decor in the tasting room was friendly and inviting. We learned so much, thanks to Amberley. The experience was certainly unique -- and certainly a nice change of pace from going to wine tastings. Our tasting experience at Grove 45 was a memorable and fantastic experience. Our host walked us through the history of the company, the oils and vinegars with ease. The small food bite were to die for. The focaccia, popcorn with truffle salt and olive oil, and the sweet finish of olive oil cake and ice cream were some of the best bites we had in the region! We just happened to find this gem after visiting a nearby winery and I'm so glad we did. The tasting was so much fun. We got to learn about the history of Grove 45, info about the variety of olives used in the oils and instructions on how to taste the oils. The popcorn with truffle salt and the focaccia was so good, as were the balsamic vinegars with the caprese skewer. The olive cake with the olive oil ice cream really rounded out the whole visit. So yummy! We also enjoyed a glass of the rose and liked it so much we bought a bottle. My 10 year old son really enjoyed the experience. Everyone that worked there was so nice and friendly. What a gem! Absolutely loved our beautifully hosted olive tasting in this gorgeous new tasting room. We were blown away by the delicious food pairings along with the oils and vinegars - homemade foccacia bread, ice cream and cake made the whole tasting experience feel so unique. And what an amazing value - only $40 for the olive oil and food pairing, and of course we decided to add a glass of their delicious rosé for another $12 - hard to get that anywhere else in the Valley!
