Nice stop on the way home from Timber Cove, but maybe not something I'd specially drive up from the east bay for. We waited in line about 15 mins before getting to the window where you pay and get your food immediately. The staff was incredibly friendly. The crab sandwich was on the smaller side but I genuinely enjoyed the crab flavor. I got a few shells towards the end which was a bit of a bummer. The real winner was the clam chowder. Hot, well portioned for the price. Overall, I enjoyed our lunch here. It was a nice, breezy stop at Bodega Bay.

Always a line no matter what time. Even non peak meal hours. Just wait a bit and you will get what you want! Had the cup of clam chowder and crab salad. Fresh. Chowder was creamy and warming to your soul. No spots left on the picnic tables so we ate in the car and it was so romantic haha

Food was actually delicious especially the tuna sandwich, crab sandwich was bland and no taste. Also I think cocktail seafood was not worth the price you pay because shrimp were super tiny and not a lot of crab. Clam chowder oh yes please... Service was fast and they are nice. Nice outdoor No indoor.

Line was long and went along the street...I waited about 30 minutes until I got to the window - where you order, pay and get your food almost immediately. Got 3 New England (white) chowders, 1 chili, 3 crab sandwiches, 2 seafood (crab & shrimp) sandwiches, and a loaf of Italian sourdough French bread. The chowder was piping hot and was much needed on this cold windy day. It had a great consistency, and they didn't skimp on the clams or potatoes! Flavor was ok, but for me, needed a bit of hot sauce for a kick. The highlight was the crab sandwich, with huge chunks of fresh crab meat.... Mmmm! It just needed a squeeze of lemon and would've been perfect. The chili came with onions and shredded cheese on the side. It was rich & hearty. The bread was tasty, came with butter, and went great with both the chili and chowder. Worth the wait!

Guests were in town for the holidays so we took a drive out to get our favorite clam chowder. Boy was it cold and windy but it was worth it. Their New England clam chowder is our absolute favorite. It is creamy with potatoes, large chunks of clams and other secret ingredients which hits the spot. Superb as usual and everyone enjoyed their soup immensely. You order at the window and if you prefer to dine on the premises, they have several picnic tables with umbrellas outside. We prefer to drive up the hill to Bodega Head to enjoy our soup as we look out over the ocean. If you're lucky, you might even see whales making their annual migration!

Plenty of signage to let you know this is the place for Crab

You dine here on two items - order both the clam chowder and the crab sandwich and you won't be disappointed. If you order to go, there are picnic tables across the road at Spud Point Harbor which is a little less crowded. Worth the drive and the wait if it's busy (weekends). Ordering and service is quick, the soup is hot and the crab is sweet and plentiful. Wish I lived closer.

Crab sandwich and clam chowder were pretty good, not great. Should have asked for salt for the crab. Counter service was friendly and fast. The sandwiches and soup were premade. All seating outdoors.

Came for the crab sandwich but left thinking about the chowder. Wow that was the most flavorful clam chowder I've ever had! Crab sandwich was delicious but could have used more sauce or seasoning. Regardless great experience and definitely coming back for more chowder!

Had an amazing experience at Spud Point Crab Company! The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor -- you can really taste the quality, especially in the clam chowder and seafood. Everything was perfectly prepared and hit the spot. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. The outdoor seating adds to the charm, with beautiful views that make it a great place to sit back and enjoy your meal. Overall, a must-visit spot if you're in the area. I'll definitely be coming back! (World Famous Calm Chowder)

Line gets long but service goes pretty quick! Worth the wait. Place is a cute little spot with some seats, and view of the water. Loved both chowder. Crab sandwich and shrimp cocktail were both great also. I love the sourdough loaf! Affordable and can last you for days.

Surprised I haven't written a review for here. Well here we go, we had some family visiting so we decided a nice little trip to coast would be fun. When we arrived we lucked out to find parking near by and no line score! Staff was helpful as the family we were with has never had clam chowder they went over New England and Manhattan options and we opted for both. They came out pipping hot and full of meat score! Seating is available outside with picnic tables and umbrellas.

Finally braved the more than 30 minutes line and made it to the famous Spud Point Crab Company in Bodega Bay. The food was good but definitely overhyped. It's a popular little roadside place dishing out a constant stream of fresh seafood located on the road to the Bodega Head. There's no parking, restrooms, condiments or even complimentary water, there's just a few outdoor benches to sit and enjoy your food while watching batches of fresh seafood getting boiled. Parking however wasn't an issue; we found a number of spots near the marina on the opposite side of the road. We ordered the New England style white clam chowder ($10), the famous crab sandwich ($20) and a tuna sandwich ($11). The clam chowder was the best among our three dishes and though it had more potatoes than I would have preferred, it was rich, full of clams, hearty, and comforting. The sandwiches were fresh and good, but nothing to rave about. I was frankly disappointed with my crab sandwich, especially after having read all the 5-star reviews. While the crab meat itself was fresh, it contained too many pieces of crab shell and was doused in too much of mayo or whatever condiment they had used, feeling overly salty and not too appetizing to me. Also, I believe good bread is the foundation to any good sandwich and I didn't particularly care for the bread they used; plus the bread was soggy from the excessive use of some sort of sauce. Don't get me wrong - this was still a good meal, but you can get better seafood sandwiches in so many places along the Pacific coast, and with better service and lesser wait times.

This has been my all-time favorite clam chowder spot for over a decade, and the quality has never wavered. The chowder is perfectly balanced, loaded with tender clams and vegetables. The crab sandwich is also excellent, with a generous amount of crab. Everything here is straightforward, simple, and consistently delicious -- nothing has changed since I first started coming. We arrived right at opening and the dining area was already filling up; on weekends, arriving any later means facing a very long line. To me, it's absolutely worth it. They also sell a big loaf of sourdough for just $5, which pairs perfectly with the soup and is a great deal.

Their seating. Crowded, share the space & enjoy!

I think this was the only place in the Bodega Bay area. Not sure why that is. Anyway, the oysters were 5 stars for my mom. They came with a dipping sauce. I think it was the garlic aioli. I ordered the chicken sandwich special that comes with chipotle aioli. I traded that for the garlic aioli. It was loaded with thin slices of chicken breast. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, but it was perfect for the sandwich. When we first ordered, it was Ash who took our order. He's so energetic and friendly. That's what my boyfriend and I ordered, and were satisfied (not to mention fueled for our hike that afternoon). I agree with other reviews that say it's pricey for what you get, but you'll still have a satisfying meal. The crab sandwich is real fresh, I kinda wish they toasted the bread, but would still recommend it. It came with a few slices of carrot that seemed random IMO, but still ate it. Also, you can't go wrong with the fish and chips! Service was straight-forward - you order and pay at the counter, then take your number to seat where your food is delivered. Most people were sitting outside on the benches, which is where you wanna be, especially on a sunny day with a view of the water. But there are also chairs and tables inside. Parking can be tight around here. The lot outside the restaurant is very small, and the street/back parking signs can be confusing. (There were cars parking in zones clearly marked with "No Parking" signs.)

If this is all you order be prepared to still have stomach hunger growls when you leave. No bread...No small salad or coleslaw on the side ! I had the Clam Chowder which was fair. I loved the lightness of the calamari batter as well! This is a nicely decorated and clean restaurant. It was romantic with the view of the bay.
