At first I was very disappointed to find out my salad was removed from the menu. The black and blue salad will be missed, but I've found a place in my heart for another. The red, white and blue salad may sound too patriotic, but strawberries, blueberries and grilled chicken with the cheese and other veggies is delicious. You can choose it as a part of their new pick 3 so yes I did pay $2 extra for the salad, but then we got tomato basil soup and chicken salad sandwich. One of my favorite things about going there is they have sweet tea, unsweetened tea, then Splenda sweetened tea. I also saw they had a deal for 2 pizzas and a big salad for $20 so we got that to go. This place isn't much for ambience, but the food's decently good for the price. $15 for a personal pizza and a side salad. You order at the counter and they bring you the food pretty quickly. This is plenty of food for a dinner, and honestly I probably shouldn't have eaten it all. The salad was quite good it was a simple Caesar salad with a nice ratio of dressing to lettuce and some Parmesan and croutons. Tasted fresh and honestly I probably could have had the salad and half the pizza. I went with the pepperoni and sausage pizza. Flavorful, a good meat cheese sauce bread ratio. I was on a 7 hour road trip with a picky eater and we stopped at this location for dinner. I asked for a sandwich with basically nothing on it to go. When we opened the food in the car we noticed the sandwich wasn't plain and my picky eater wouldn't be able to eat. When I walked back in with the sandwich the man who I assume is the manager came right up to me and asked what was wrong. I explained that it didn't come out plain and he fixed it immediately! I was very impressed that he saw that I had been there just a few minutes beforehand and didn't let me wait in line, he just walked up and helped me. The place is nothing special you have your typical decent cooked enough very overlords food . That you have had better at better places . The pumkin spice cake dessert here barley has any pumkin spice in it you can sorta taste a lil spice in it not much . So that's false advertising right there . After a childhood of eating mainly fast food, the stale, cold really salty flavors became my comfort foods. So to experience the opposite of that here was a real shock! Never visited a Newk's before, but we were across the freeway shoe shopping & decided to grab a bite. So of course, we yelped things close by & well here we are. The place is very light & bright with convenient but comfortable seating and main thing - it was incredibly clean. There were half a dozen other tables of guests, but not a messy table to be seen. The self service drink station was also very tidy which is really nice to see as those always seem to look like a pack of wild kids with no supervision had just gone through them. The menu is perfect for lunch, or any meal really, with a large selection of salads, soups, sandwiches & pizzas. I had the Newk's Q wrap and my daughter had a side Caesar & a pepperoni pizza. The wrap came with several side options, was a nice size & really delicious with a perfect mix of ingredients to it. Daughter said her Caesar was great (and we are Caesar lovers so not always easy to please) and the pep pizza was shockingly awesome! It was a thinner crust with perfect balance of cheese & pepperoni and not greasy. I was shocked how tasty it was. Aside from the yummy lunch, the staff was extremely attentive and polite. We were greeted shortly after entering by a very sweet lady whose suggestions on salad size were appreciated & spot on. The gentleman in the kitchen was also extremely polite & helpful. Seems in today's market, finding a spot that has delicious menu options, is this clean, and has such a top notch staff is getting harder to find. We love this place. Where have you been all my life?!? Its like MOD Pizza and Cafe Express had a baby. The pizza here is so good (i get the sausage and pepperoni) and hubs has got some sandwiches and loaded baked potato soup and said all was good and yummy! The establishment is clean, my order taker was exceptionally friendly and even offered his suggestions based on his favorites plus the best sellers and the variety is quite impressive. NE offers several sandwich options, soups, salads and macaroni sides plus portion options. I had the pairing of 1/2 a club sandwich with a side of pimento mac n cheese. Both items were very good! They have lots of seating options, including booths. They even have "Grab n Go" items like chicken salad, breads, salads and sides. Nice little place. Well done! read more

Great place great food... my wife drive 30 minutes just to have our weekly Newkes experience

This last year I found Newks. What drew me to them is the cauliflower crust I can get in place of dough. Food allergies began for me in March last year and this Margarita pizza with cauliflower is great to me. It is delicious and satisfying my want for breads I cannot have anymore. The salad is pretty darn good too! The first time I ordered and took it home. I was running errands and had one quick stop left before home. The pizza looked so good, I thought is it really cauliflower. No disrespect! I ran in and came back and laughed to myself in satisfaction! I could smell the cauliflower. And it was delicious! I hadn't frequented Newk's for awhile but my dad had never been so I wanted to introduce him to a place. Walking in the atmosphere is nice, kind of reminds me of a Cafe Express. My dad sounded encouraging and was already talking about what he wanted to order for the next time. We both ordered the Newk's Q sandwich and within a few hours both my dad and I got very sick. We suspect it was an issue with the sauce but that's where this slippery slope begins. I called the store as a curtesy to let them know what happened and they apologized and said they would refund my money if I came to the store. I was like, okay that's fair and returned to the store a couple days later because it's a little out of the way for me. I ended up speaking to a manager and he insisted he would not return my money and offered me a food voucher instead. I declined the offer as that's is not what I was originally promised. The Manager then proceeded to contact the GM of the store and he offered the same solution as the manager. I said, it wasn't an acceptable solution to which the manger promised I would receive a call from the GM in the next couple days to discuss the situation. The GM never called. I never leave one star reviews because I personally feel like it's an ugly thing to do but I got rubbed the wrong way from every possible direction at this place. From the food to the managment, this entire situation was a catastrophe. For this reason I will be avoiding the restaurant in the future and encourage others to proceed with caution. read more

We were seated near the restroom and observed an employee come out without washing their hands. You'd have to see the setup for yourself to understand how we knew this. My wife asked for the manager and spoke to him for several minutes while he explained that employees typically wash their hands in the food prep area and not the bathroom. Gross! This was my first time here. I asked the woman at the front what her favorite sandwich was and she recommended Newk's Q. So I ordered that along with a sweet iced tea to go. The Newk's Q was pretty disappointing to be honest. First of all, it looked nothing like the picture on the website. I know most dishes don't look like website pictures, but that just didn't help things. The sandwich was okay, but didn't stand out in any category. The white BBQ sauce just tasted like ranch mixed with regular BBQ sauce. The sandwich was small and did not contain enough chicken. The presentation just wasn't there.
