This place is by far one of my favorite sushi places to go to! Their service is outstanding! They take their time to get to know you and make sure everything is perfect from walking into the door until you leave. Aside from great service, their food is well crafted and quite delicious! As a huge foodie, I love going to different places to try their sushi selection. At Hama Sushi, one of my favorite dishes is the Hama Lover. It is a giant, beautifully prepared plate with an assortment of delectable sashimi, sushi, and special rolls. You literally eat a piece of art! Key of advice to anyone who loves sushi... You can tell how amazing a sushi joint can be when the color, alone, of their tuna is an exquisite ruby red. The quality of their fresh fish and seafood are EXCELLENT! I have been a repeat customer and the service and food/quality has been very consistent. In addition, any of their specials come very well-recommended. I would recommend this sushi spot to anyone who enjoys great food. Its located in the middle of a strip mall with a huge parking lot. The sushi is good, service is good, and presentation is excellent. I always get some sort of bonus appetizer sushi which is a plus. Place seems to do good business and is popular with the locals. Ambiance is nice enough however they play odd western pop/rock music over the speakers and have a wall mounted TV that detracts from the ambiance and cheapens the décor. read more

We each got the 3 roll lunch special ($13, comes with miso soup and a salad) for pick up/take out. I got the shrimp tempura, USA roll (spicy crab) and the Frence (shrimp tempura, crab & avocado) rolls. It was delicious! Exactly what I was in the mood for, tastes great My friend got the Tuna, Scallion Yellowtail and the Hollywood (salmon, yellowtail & avocado) rolls. (She is a regular here and recommended it to me) I will definitely come here again (only problem was we ordered online and it didn't register our first 2 rolls of each order, so if you order online write in your order as well as clicking the bubbles, and we had to wait 20 mins for it to be made. Ordered Maki roll lunch online, and went there to pick up 20 minutes after placing the order. Everything was packed nice and ready for me, and people there were very nice. I just went in and out within minutes. The parking lot was crowded thought! Sushi was ok ok, I ordered Frence and Hollywood roll, nothing special, and the avocado was too big which overpowered the other favor. The miso soup was surprisingly big and good, and not bad while many places I've been to was too salty. For $9, it's not bad for lunch. Yet, not a great place if you are looking for GREAT sushi experience. read more

I used to love this place! What happened?? Food has gone downhill and the service is terrible! A little backstory: When I was little this place was called Yamato and it was my favorite Japanese restaurant. I was devastated when they closed and then Hama opened up. The food was still delicious and the staff was friendly. We went there so much that the owner/manager knew us and would always say hello and ask how we're doing. Now I go in there and the waitstaff is emotionless, like they're slaves or something, and the food is flavorless. Miso soup is my favorite and it tasted so bland I could only have a few spoonfuls before giving up. Ordered a chicken soba noodle dish and there was more cabbage than noodles and the chicken looked and tasted like fake meat. Very disappointing. I recommend Kumo Sushi down the road. read more

Story Time: Had an interesting experience here. I ordered dinner online. There are many sushi places in my area, but this was the only one offering a discount on their online ordering system. So I went ahead and bought almost $60 worth of food, but only was charged $40 due to the discounts. Sounds great right? After I placed the order I received a total of 3 phone calls from the restaurant asking more questions about my order. I reminded them on the last phone to not forget soy sauce and spicy mayo. I made sure to write that in the comment section of the ordering page online, but I just wanted to remind the lady on the phone. So she said 'yes, of course' and then hung up. The delivery man came 40 minutes later, which was fine they said to allow 45 minutes online. He gave me the food and I gave him the money I previously retrieved, because I knew what the bill was going to come to since I ordered online. I closed the door and walked to the kitchen, then I heard a loud few knocks. It was the delivery man, he said I gave him the wrong change. So I looked at the bill and the bill said sixty something dollars. I tried explaining to him the bill was wrong and he was confused, so I showed him my computer, which had my order on it. He saw it but i guess did not believe me? Even though he was staring at my online receipt. So he proceeds to call someone at the restaurants, while holding my door open, as I am holding up my computer and reading off of it. After a few minutes of talking he hands ME the phone. The lady proceeds to tell me many things which were incorrect and got me very frustrated. She then said the reason why I owed more was because I asked for soy sauce and spicy mayo.... over $20 more.? I told her that if those items were extra she should have told me that over the phone, or online. It said nothing online about those being extra. After I spoke up and said that to her, she said never mind and told me to just pay what I originally intended to pay. So i handed the man back his phone, he was still wedging himself in my doorway, and he talked to her for a little longer before saying goodbye. I went inside, locked the door, and wish I just ordered Pizza. BTW: Sushi was not fresh at all, same with the chicken teriyaki... portions were large though. read more

The food and service is good, not spectacular. If they get very busy, the service isn't as good, but they are generally courteous to customers. I like the variety of the menu. My daughter loves sushi and if I'm not in the mood, it's a good option for us. I've also ordered a Korean dish that's very good, Bim Bim Bop (rice, meat, and veggies in a hot clay pot). the food here was really good. it's not the best sushi I've had, but the ambience was funky, and the food was better than average. I had the regular Ramune soda and a soup, nabeyaki upon soup. overall, the noodle soup was delicious. the broth was just a little sweeter than I believe it should have been. and the shrimp tempura in the soup was not as light and crisp as the tempura at other places. my husband ordered chirashi, which is his standard by which he measures the goodness of a restaurant,and he found it to be beautifully presented, we fresh fish, but not tops in terms of the sushi quality. read more

My favorite sushi place! The staff is super nice and always brings out free samples of their new rolls. Its completely informal and relaxing. Ive never had a bad experience here and ive never had to wait more than 2 minutes for a table. If anyone wants a different roll try the white castle roll. You will not be disappointed! read more

We have gone here for years but a few months ago we had a very bad meal the fish was very tough I am talking unedible they told us it was a new supplier an apologized they took nothing off the bill last night we decided to give them one more try it was a mistake the fish was still frozen had bones in sashimi the fifteen dollar rolls had almost no fish all avocado probably good because it smelled fishy and tasted bad again they apologized brought more out but again it was no good they did nothing with the 150 bill and left the food on the table to throw out there are much better places now move on and stay away read more

My family is a regular at this place. We meet another family almost every other Sunday night here. The sushi as always fresh and the service is great. If you need something for the kids to eat you can always order the chick tatsuda. Get a nice big Kiran beer to wash down the delicious sushi. read more
