Delicious! We ordered pickup from here after battling allergies and sinus infections. When we went to pick it up we were greeted by the delicious smell of pho. The layout is a bit strange with a counter towards the back where you pay but it's also a small space so they make it work. Our pho took a while. When we called they said 20 minutes but it ended up being about 40 minutes. They did allow us to sit in a booth while we waited, though. Once the food was ready we left with huge smiles as you could just smell how delicious this was going to be. The chicken pho did not disappoint. So much flavor! The broth was incredible. Noodles were good. Everything is sent home a la carte where you add the chicken, bean sprouts, sauce, etc. I could have just ate the broth and noodles but the chicken was also good. read more

Top Pho was... pretty good, but not exactly pho-nomenal. The broth had a nice depth of flavor, but the fish sauce was a little too overpowering for my taste. The tendon was also disappointing--it came in huge chunks, was tough, and I spent more time wrestling with it than enjoying it. Service could definitely use some work. I mentioned I have a shrimp allergy, but our server still brought me shrimp... and then charged me for it anyway. Not exactly the seafood surprise I was hoping for. Overall, it wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't a place that wowed me either. I'd probably give it another shot someday, hoping for a better experience, but it's not at the top of my pho list. read more

We ordered delivery from here one night because our typical pho spot was closed that night. We ordered fried shrimp rolls, grilled lemongrass chicken, and two combination pho with no tripe. Well, I wish we'd tried elsewhere, because our experience was terrible. BOTH pho orders had tripe in them, meaning they don't read customer specifications/requests. The broth wasn't good either, and they didn't separate out the noodles, so those were soggy by the time it arrived. It also had cheap flat brisket with no fat. The fried shrimp rolls were mushy and soggy because they weren't wrapped tight enough around the shrimp. And the chicken was rubbery. The food was just bad. Won't be ordering from here again. read more

Decided to try this Pho spot the other day and was not disappointed. Best pho on Long Island - hands down! The broth is insanely rich, clean, and fragrant. It was definitely simmered for hours (you can taste the depth of bone marrow and star anise in every spoonful). Got the #1 Special Combination (rare steak, brisket, tendon, tripe, meatball) and it came out piping hot with a massive plate of fresh basil, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeños. Also got the chicken banh mi which was very crispy and flavorful. Just a heads up, on the menu, they called it "vietnamese bread". In case you can't find it. Portions are huge, prices are fair (under $15 for a large that I can never finish), and the service is lightning fast and super friendly. With the weather starting to become freezing, stop by this authentic Vietnamese spot for a fresh bowl of pho. You won't be disappointed! read more

Nice space and good service. My own meal I would rate 3 stars because the pho lacked depth of flavor and the chicken satay was terrible. I do not order chicken satay from Vietnamese places, but figured, why not? The peanut sauce was too thick, not tasty and the chicken was dry and seasoned weird. Note to self: only order chicken satay from a Malaysian restaurant. On the other hand, my kids enjoyed their entree of shredded pork over rice. I did not taste it, but it looked good. The other adults enjoyed their entrees of classic pho and seafood pho. We had a person request a non beef broth and they offered a vegetable broth as a substitute. I think most people would be ok with the food here. But having had pretty awesome Vietnamese food in nyc chinatown, I have different expectations. read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! We go here a lot and everything is very good. The ambiance is pretty casual but neat and cute. Light and healthy food. The service is pretty attentive. Normally we start off with the Thai crispy fried chicken which is always solid. Then, I usually get the beef pho with all the fixings but this time I wanted something light and got the shrimp salad. It was delicious! We also got bun Bo xue which is good if you want something a little spicy and fattier. The beef tripe noodle was satisfying as well. We paired the food with some drinks - passion fruit tea and kumquat lemon. We had a happy, healthy meal and left pretty satisfied. Plus it's close to Amart where you can get Chinese groceries, and it's open every day! Enjoy! read more

When I walked in, i was greeted immediately and seated right away. I've never been here before but I've heard so many good things so I was excited to try it. I ordered the pork banh mi, and the spring rolls. WOWOWOWOOWOW BEST BANH MI EVER! I even think it's better than the ones I've gotten in elmhurst. The spring rolls were amazing too! I ate everything!!! I'll definitely be getting my Vietnamese fix from here from now on! read more

This place is growing on me! It's located in a strip mall that gets fairly busy on the weekends because of the Chinese mart next door. The restaurant is not too big, but the decor is clean and inviting. My go-to is the pho nam, but we often get pho with the grilled pork chops on the side as well. The soup isn't super flavorful, but it's nice and clean. The appetizers are pretty standard. Service is decent, even during the busy times. There's still not many Vietnamese places around the area, and many of them rely on flashy decor or gimmicks. This one is consistently solid. read more

The atmosphere was clean and open. However, probably not the best pho compared to the city or Virginia where I think most of the best phos are with such a large Vietnamese population. The portion was good. On the menu, each type of pho is only one type of beef instead of several unless you get the combo or one other one that only has brisket and flank. But for example if you want tendon you can only get it alone or in the combo. It would be nice if they have more combinations to choose from such as 2 types of beef or 3 types, etc and let diners choose. Also, the broth doesn't taste like traditional beef pho broth. It errs on the sweet side and has a lingering sweetness instead of the umami. read more

My wife and I stopped by Top Pho. I had their pho with beef meatballs and my wife had their pho with beef strips --absolutely excellent! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the beef meatballs had great texture and taste. The staff was smiling and friendly, making the experience even better. The atmosphere is lively and talkative, which adds to the charm. Lots of Asian families dining here, which is always a great sign of authenticity. If you're looking for a legit bowl of pho, this is the place to go. Highly recommend. read more

Ambiance (5/5): The restaurant is super cute and welcoming with oriental decorations! The seasonal decorations were also beautiful (and even included the bathroom). The background music of popular pop songs was soft and allowed for conversation. Service (5/5): The service was quick and the staff was very friendly. They also speak Mandarin. There is a bowl of candy at the desk. Food (Overall 5/5): The beef pho (#14) consisted of thinly sliced beef. The broth was very savory and there was plenty of noodles for the portion. Will definitely come back! read more

Came here for dinner tonight and pretty much enjoyed my meal. I was seated right away and was happy when my request to not sit in front of the front window was obliged. The restaurant was decorated with Christmas decorations and the seats had holiday pillows. I ordered the rice noodle pho with beef tripe and a side of raw sliced beef. I appreciated the server asking me if I was ok with the cilantro and onions on the noodles .. which I declined. The noodles were good and the broth was very flavorful. The reason why Top Pho II didn't receive 5 stars from me was 1)the raw sliced beef had some dark spots in it, 2)even though the noodles were good, the portion of noodles wasn't a lot and 3)the glass of water tasted funny and the like slice that was on the bottom of the glass, didn't help. After all is said and done, I'd come back again. Wishing Top Pho II continued success. read more

I love it. , tasty, fresh and clean! I look forward to returning.85 characters to post a review is too much Yelp.

Something has changed here. On our most recent visit, all the food tasted different. The satay chicken that used to be tender and juicy was dry and chewy. The summer rolls were served with a sauce that was less peanut sauce and more of a thick hoisin. The bun thit nuong tasted decent, but the vermicelli noodles were served hot rather than chilled. We still prefer Top Pho over other places in the area, but it's nearly impossible to find a really good authentic Viet restaurant in Long Island. I wish it would return to how it was when we first went discovered it. Perhaps it's a new chef or ownership? read more

Honestly, not the best pho I've had, but it'll satisfy cravings in a pinch. The prices at Top Pho lean a little towards the pricier end when compared to the prices in Queens & Brooklyn, and the flavor doesn't quite live up to the price differential. I ordered the combination pho, and my fiance and his family ordered pho & bun bo hue. The pho broth is... different. It's not lacking in flavor, but it almost seems like there is something missing overall. Don't get me wrong - it's still pretty decent, but I can't quite place my finger on what's missing. Topping portions are a bit off - there's a good amount of tripe and beef balls, but brisket and tendon pieces were scarce and skimpy. I tried the bun bo hue soup as well, and it's honestly not my favorite. It doesn't really pack the lemongrass flavor that I look for in the soup, and it needed a little sauce for sure. The spring rolls were crunchy, & I found them to be tasty. Top Pho is probably one of the cleanest vietnamese restaurants I've been in, and I have to commend them for that. The aesthetics are quite nice - they provide mint & cucumber infused water. Also, the tables don't have any sticky residue. Service is good, & our waitress was really kind. I notified her of an error in my order, and she was really apologetic and gave us a 10% discount in return. read more

Whenever it's a rainy or cold day outside, I always get myself up to eat something at Top Pho. The food here gives a comforting feeling when you're eating their pho. I decided to get the rice noodle soup with grilled chicken. The soup was flavorful and had a refreshing taste to it. Kept making me want to sip the broth because it has an addictive taste to it. It also came with a side of jalapeños and bean sprouts. Tastes even better with a bit of Sriracha and Hoisin sauce. The grilled chicken was delicious! It's one of my favorites. I get it all the time, but recently it was very oily and greasy. I didn't get their Thai tea this time, but will be getting it at my next visit. Service was great. Love it when restaurants come to refill waters. Ambiance was calm and nice too. Lots of seating for customers. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 read more

Finally tried Top Pho given what appeared to be an improvement over past reviews. The place is pleasant and clean, smelled great. Had Chicken & Pork Spring Roll over Vermicelli, and it was weirdly sweet and seasoned with like anise and maybe five spice - the worst was the "fish sauce", which appeared to be a mix of Mae Ploy sweet sauce mixed with (maybe) a little fish sauce. Everything was over the top sweet, unlike any Vietnamese I've tasted in Vietnam or in the US. My companion felt the same. To top it off, I found a long hair in the noodles as I was three quarters finished. Yuck. No offer to refund or action on the 10 inch hair I pulled from my mouth. Oh well. read more

Been here a few times now and finally decided to post a review because food has improved so much. They recently switched the chef and the pho broth has gone from good to amazing. Everyone that eats pho knows it's all about the broth and it's legit here. I also really appreciate the fact that the side condiments of cilantro, lime and bean sprouts are really fresh and that makes a huge difference. Broth is so good that I asked to purchase two quarts of it to bring and make my own lol. Def check this place out and it's super clean also! read more

Very pleasant atmosphere and we were there on a quiet Tuesday evening. We enjoyed Spring rolls and bowls of tasty pho soup with rice noodles. The soup broth cooks for 8 hours. Ambiance - comfortable Service - efficient Food The satay chicken is underwhelming and disappointing. For the price I rather have wings at the local bar. The satay sauce didn't help. (Visually thile sauce is a dark brown color.) Taste is far from wow. I am not motivated to pay over 10 for 4 thin strips of chicken. The pho soup base is a different. The vermicelli is tasty. read more

Top Pho..Pho Shizzle! The crispy squid appetizer was divine. The sweet sauce that accompanied the squid created a perfect marriage between savory and sweet. The squid was lightly breaded and tender. The squid was surprisingly not rubbery at all. The Vietnamese spring rolls were also tasty. It takes a little bit of patience not to devour them as soon as they come out because they were extremely hot. I'd suggest any diner to cut them in half to let them breathe a little bit before consumption. The grilled pork chops over rice were phenomenal and we really enjoyed the smoky flavor. They were one of the best we've ever had and I bit every morsel of meat I could off of the bones. The combination Pho was awesome. I love the generous amount of tendons, and tripe in the bowl. The meatballs were pretty yummy as well. The broth of course was comforting. Top Pho for its namesake is one of the top pho places I've had. We were pleasantly surprised to find this local treasure in Hicksville. read more

Honestly horrible. Ordered the grilled chicken over steamed rice. I've had this dish countless times from many different pho restaurants. Decided on top pho for my lunch break. $18 later I got the food and it was cold. I can overlook that. The chicken was rubbery and you too charred, with a distinct taste that the grill it was cooked on has not been cleaned in quite some time. The chicken was covered in hairy fibers. Not sure if this is supposed to be lemongrass but this was extremely off putting. I've never seen that at any other pho restaurants. Only thing that was okay was the rice which is hard to mess up. Extremely disappointed in this and honestly I was outright disgusted. I never write reviews and would rather not do this but I would hate for someone else to make the same mistake. read more

Didn't like the spring roll vermicelli I ate here because of the noodle texture, added fried garlic bits, which tasted bad and quite honestly shouldn't go with this dish, and most importantly, the sauce lacked the flavor. There is also too much excess water on the bottom! This is way different from the normal order of spring roll vermicelli that I get elsewhere. Just feeling a sense of disappointment as I put each bite into my mouth and down to my hungry stomach. That's all. read more

This restaurant is located near the old Hanyang (H&Y Market) and we found it when we were looking for something quick and Asian. Firstly, the service was impeccable. Staff checked on us often asking if we needed anything, waters and drinks came out promptly. The silverware, napkins were sturdy and great quality! I moved here from Flushing and have been to authentic Vietnamese restaurants so, I can tell you that the flavor isn't 100% BUT it was sril delicious! Usually after pho, I'm left extremely thirsty and lethargic but this time, I wasn't. I agree with another Yelper, broth is clean, savory but not oily and super salty. The portion Suze is big plus, they give good amount of broth which I absolutely love. Usually, I'm left with a bowl of bloated noodles and no soup but this wasn't the case. I missed the Pickled veggies that are typically served with the spring rolls but still tasty. I really didn't mind the generic brand Sriracha either bc we all know there's a shortage! Ambience is clean, modern and Asian. Bathroom was super clean and I hope it stays that way! read more
