After our favorite American-style Chinese restaurants were closed on Thanksgiving day, we were thrilled to find New Dragon so close to home and hear that they would even deliver! The food was tasty and arrived perfectly on time. I could have used more sauce on the shrimp, beef, and chicken items. The service was incredible -- they even sent a few free items since we placed a large order which was so kind. Truly don't understand how this place doesn't have better reviews. After years of mediocre Chinese takeout in Denver, we finally found our SPOT. The food here is not only good, it's affordable. The kung pao chicken is flavorful and full of yummy veggies. It's our go to along with the sesame chicken. The scallion pancakes are also unreal and the service is always fast and friendly. This business put flyers on our apartment doors so I thought I would try them instead of who I usually order from for delivery. I am disappointed about these: - Pad Thai was very good - Steamed rice was a little chewy - Now, I love me some Thai Spring Rolls so I have expectations which these failed at. The peanut sauce was as thin as water. The rice roll paper was stickier or somehow it took more than normal to bite through it. Maybe it is thicker rice paper. read more

Just had lunch here. Got the kung pow shrimp lunch special. It appears this place is mostly take out. I had limited service, from the two women at the counter. Nobody said hello to me or asked if I wanted to sit down or order take out. I had to ask them if i could sit down. Ordered at the front desk, then after my dish showed up I had to ask for the drink I ordered. The dish didn't show any signs of red pepper or pepper flakes, but tasted like they had dumped a shaker of black pepper into the dish. Fried rice was a dark brown color and tasted like the just dumped soy sauce on it. I was hungry so I suffered through it to finish it. But I would not recommend this place for good food. A little hole in the wall chinese restaurant that packs quite a punch. I was impressed with the quality of food. It was made fresh and they actually accepted order modifiers. My extra spicy general tso chicken was actually extra spicy!! For like 8 dollars you get a ton of food. Entree rice and egg roll. The rice was probably the worst part and is still yummy. I wish I could recommend this restaurant, but as a tourist, I dont know if it is actually worth it compared to what's around. Placed a pandemic order for pickup here. We ordered two lunches from this place. First, the cost was quite reasonable. I had chicken lo mein and it was pretty good. The chicken was very tasty and tender. The lo mein noodles were also quite good. Mixed in were some vegetables and the noodles were not too greasy so that's a plus! The other lunch was chicken with broccoli and like mine we ate it all. No leftovers so the portions were nice but not huge...just right for a good sized lunch. When I arrived the items were ready for me so it was a quick in and out. I've previously raved about the pu pu platter but today was strictly lunch. Inside this place is nothing special and it's set in the same shopping area as a Safeway. No ambience but then for take out it was great. This place is worth it to give them a try. Although this isn't the best Chinese spot in town, it's better than some others I've been to and it's in the neighborhood. I'll have to agree somewhat with the previous review, though; it wasn't too bad for the price, but it has its downfalls. When I went for lunch, it was $4.00 for 2 main dishes, rice or noodles, egg rolls or wontons and a soda. That's a heck of a deal. The noodles were OK, the Sesame Chicken was over breaded and pretty sweet, and the Broccoli with Beef was pretty tasty and had a nice amount of fresh broccoli. Was it the best? No. Was it filling and satisfying? Yes. I'd go back for a quick lunch sometime, but it won't be my first choice. read more

I've ordered from New Dragon twice and I cannot recommend them enough. The food has always been prompt, accurate, delicious, and reasonably priced. I am a furloughed restaurant worker, and as tough as times are cannot afford to eat out as often as I like. As such, I'm extremely selective about where I choose to spend what little money I do have in my budget for dining out. New Dragon has not disappointed, and will continue to be my number one choice for dining out in between now and whenever I'm able to return back to work. I wasn't sure what to expect but this is actually one of my favorite Chinese take out places and it's in my neighborhood which is a bonus. The Moo Shu veggie is my go to and is one of the best I've had, also a huge portion size. The rice is always good and I love their egg drop soup. I'm vegetarian but my meat eating friends have said their chicken, etc is great too. We went on a Sunday evening (so perhaps a slower time) and ordered the Dinner Special #1, which comes with Sesame Chicken, Beef Broccoli, Chicken Lo Mein, egg rolls and wontons. The wontons and chicken were more chewy than crunchy. As if they had previously been fried and then reheated or old. The egg rolls were a perfect amount of crunchy. No complaints here. Beef Broccoli was par, while the Lo Mein was by far the best piece of our meal. Would equate to mall quality Lo Mein. Try it out for yourself - maybe go at a busier time!
