The food here is actually pretty good service is excellent. I think the prices are very reasonable for the area considering it's in the Highlands area. I ordered a lunch special one day during work even though I've lived in the area for the greater part of two or three years. I just was never sure if this was a place. I should try but I decided I would. I ordered it for pick up and it was decently priced for a lunch special. I believe I paid less than 15 bucks. It included a soup and obviously a side of rice and I ordered some veggie spring rolls. The food was hot and fresh upon pick up. There was not a lot of business, albeit this was a weekday. I got the wonton soup with sesame chicken extra spicy and it was absolutely delicious. It was fresh. It was a healthy portion and I ate it for lunch and dinner. Actually the restaurant has a nice clean environment as well it doesn't seem like a must have in terms of eating inside, but it is scarier outside looking in however that could just be me and my heebie-jeebies surrounding Chinese food but I dig grass. This is definitely a solid Chinese food restaurant that I would recommend. I live a half a mile down the road and will definitely be back. read more

China Dragon has become my go-to Chinese spot in Denver, especially for takeout. It is great food, consistent, and a good value. I have had won ton soup, chicken lo mein, steamed dumplings, and sesame chicken, and it's all been delicious. The sesame chicken is my usual, and always hits the spot and is a good portion size that usually leaves some leftovers for the next day. Everything has reheated well. I was invited to update my review as it is over 5 years old. So some things have changed. There is not as large of a variety to pick from for lunch and the combo meals are only available on the weekdays. That was disappointing for us. But the food remains great quality, fresh and hot. The shrimp egg foo young tastes like it was fried, coated in flour then fried again. Somehow it had NO flavor without a single PIECE of shrimp in it. Usually when you order chicken wings from a Chinese spot it is fried. Nope. Theirs were baked and super salty for some reason. Tasted like salt brined seagull wings. I'm not a dog so I didn't enjoy anything I ordered. They really don't care and most likely won't even read this review this is for others to heed my warning against this place. To mess up simple menu items this bad is crazy so I obviously won't be ordering anything else from them. read more

The "ok" rating is for tonight alone. After the average amount of times we ordered from you in the last ten years; you have been a good standby and really you are the only 2nd option for Asian food in the surrounding area since Asian Bistro II moved in across the street a few years ago. I called tonight again because darned if any other Egg Fu Yung can be found anywhere else close and it's like .. must be having issues night tonight... Please answer the calls , don't hangup randomly, be reliable and don't go down that path of restaurant failure. The food was horrible and customer service was even worse! I ordered mooshu pork smelled rancid I spit out the small piece that went in my mouth. My wife's basil tofu was bland and had a weird texture. The sesame chicken was tough and crunchy and only dark meat from what little was in the over battered pieces. I called to ask if they would just refund me or if I had to bring everything back and they refused to refund. I returned all meals basically uneaten and she still would not refund my money, said I was lying about how it tasted. I am calling my bank and denying the charge as it was returned. Do not eat here! Tasty food here, but a few notable issues. Only styrofoam cups and takeout boxes, so not the best for the environment there. Also, I asked my already spicy dish to be "extra spicy" and I do not think they followed through on that too well. It was a somewhat spicy dish. My biggest complaint is the utensils. The forks are so cheap that it makes it very difficult to eat the food with them, you have to use the fork like a spoon. The food was very very good, however, as it is an issue with most takeout places, there were way more vegetables than meat in my order, so the indulging wasn't as nice here. If the prices were cheaper to reflect this cheap place, I would give this a location more stars. However, prices reflected that of a better takeout place and we got a worse experience. Worst "Chinese" food I've ever had. Bland and not even the ingredients you would expect. Fried rice was not traditional, but more like Thai food fried rice. Same goes for the egg rolls which is what I would expect from a thai restaurant. If you're looking for tasty Chinese food, go elsewhere. read more

With my first try of Denver Chinese take out food - It wasn't too bad. Sure, like Daniel A said - it is laced with MSG - but hey it's edible and not disgusting. Their pork fried rice is better than some other take out places I've been too, and their chicken and vegetables are edible.(not too gooey, not too thin sauce) My friend ordered a chicken with noodles - which was loaded with salt, msg, and the likes. But whatever 1)it was our first time in Denver 2)there is no Chinatown in Denver, and my GPS lured me here I went at night time, and the location of China Dragon didn't seem to good. Be prepared for women outside asking you for a ride -- to somewhere. The storefront has bars over it's window and door. Inside it looks very homely, and maybe Daniel A is right - it is their home too. I don't recommend you coming here, but in my case - I drove far from my hotel thinking this was an actual Chinese restaurant - so I was "coerced" to eat. We only sampled two items - it was edible , but I won't be coming back here. *I later discovered Denver has some of the finest Viet restaurants - be sure to try some of them! First and foremost-we opted for pick up on Christmas Eve and I have no idea what their delivery is like. However, for pick up, the food was ready on time, with a carrying box and was still piping hot when we got home (about a 5 minute drive) We got crab Rangoon, a four meat combination platter (it had a different name but it was awesome) and also shrimp with lobster sauce. The shrimp with lobster sauce was way better than New Dragons (New dragon had like an insane amount of mushrooms in theirs and I'm not paying for mushrooms I'm paying for shrimp.) When I think of go to Chinese food for take out this is exactly what I think of. Update - these guys are great! This is a family run operation. I eat here about twice a week - take away and delivery mainly but I've also eaten in the dining room. Friendly mother and kids always recognize my orders over the phone. Not sure why people have been so critical?? I mean it's Denver not Hong Kong... The food is always consistent and it's cheap! I liked the food until the next day. Worst case of food poisoning than I've ever experienced. I like to think I have a pretty strong stomach - I don't ever get sick from food (the only time it's happened was once or twice when I was traveling in SE Asia) What a terrible day that was. The food is always ready fast, their delivery is very fast, and contrary to other users, I've never gotten sick. The BBQ pork fried rice is done east coast style, the only place in Denver I can find it done that way. Their orange beef rocks too. Come to think of it, nothing on the menu sucks. The food was great but terrible customer service! I placed a large order a day in advance. While placing the order I learned the menu that is posted online is not up to date and the prices were much higher. Jody at the restaurant refused to honor what they had advertised. The order was delivered 20 minutes late. We had 18 entrees and only "2" were labeled. So we had to open each and figure out what meal it was. I called and spoke with Jody and all I heard were excuses about being busy. If they could not handle the order they should have said so when it was placed 24 hours in advance. I just got delivery of super fried cheese wonton, orange chicken that looks like kibbles and bits with no meat whatsoever, an order of chicken lo mein with all dark meat (kibble bits) and best of all.... Hot sour soup...good flavor, not too hot and not too sour Hot and spicy veggies...least favorite, pretty bland. Neither hot nor spicy. LOL. Sesame chicken...delicious!
