Neptune diner was formerly Jackson Diner. Management is good and food is also decent. Servers also work to upsell and suggest some good dishes if asked. Not bad if you having trouble deciding what to eat. Menu is substantive but not overwhelming for a diner Diner food is not overly different or bad compared to other diners in the area. Presentation is decent and breakfast and lunch options are affordable. Plenty of parking in the lot, but will tend to fill up on nice weather days. Come here on a not so busy weekday and you will have a relaxing time. Will tend to get a bit noisy when the restaurant is full. read more

Nicely renovated. Grilled cheese and fries were fine. Paying $4.25 for a glass of Pepsi. No, I will not be going back. Plus, it wasn't even a large glass. It was probably 10 ounces with ice. read more

One of the best diner experience I have had in a while. Staff was very friendly. We were welcomed and seated very quickly. They were very accomodating with my stroller. My boyfriend kept bothering busser for small things (like water refill and napkins because we used them more then the average person) and they were more then happy to serve. Waiter was nice and fast. Food was fresh and taste amazing. They brought out the food in good timing. I enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice the most. We were there on mothers day and manger or hostess was still able to come ask us how everything was which was great. I appericate them takong time to do this because it could get busy .This diner stands out because everyone workflow was smooth, noone looked stressed and it creates a great enviornment to eat in. I give this place 5 stars right out the gate, because I loved the old Neptune diner in Astoria, and did NOT love the franchise that this replaced here in Bayside. Finally ", I thought, we have another quality diner in our neck of the woods! And I stand by that! I love the breakfasts, l love the sandwiches and the burgers. My wife and I reminisce with the pizza burger we used to enjoy when we were dating in the 90's! Went there for my birthday breakfast (my favorite meal of the day), and we order home delivery as well! Woah! Neptune's blows away the former diner that used to be in this location jackson hole. I got breakfast buns (bacon sausage avocado eggs and cheese on a toasted brioche) and i was taken back at how upscale this diner food is. Dom got the waffle and it was perfectly crisp on the outside but fluffy inside. He likes it with syrup but the whipped butter really topped it off for me. The fresh OJ was my favorite - i can't wait to come back here and try more stuff on the menu. The menu itself was quite large and has a variety of meals depending on the time of day. I was compelled to say something as I was pleasantly surprised last night. I was craving an old fashioned diner burger and fries, like the good old days, and that is exactly what I was served here. Added crispy bacon as well. The burger seemed to be almost 1/2 pound and included two onion rings along with the customary garnishes of pickle, lettuce (romaine!), and tomato and a copious portion of fries. The meat was fresh and obviously prepared on the grill, cooked to my liking, and served quickly. Neptune has stepped up their game, apparently, and I was so pleased with my simple order I am now inclined to return in the near future. Service was quick and friendly. I did not go for what looked like many tantalizing desserts as I was overstuffed and incapable of eating any more. I'm pleased to have this business in the neighborhood. read more

Omg First time having Thanksgiving dinner out and we chose Neptune Diner. VERY impressive meal!!!! If you're not sure where to go tonight, come here! Choice of 4 soups/a beautiful salad/a side of veggies which included candied yams, Brusselsprouts, corn and carrots, chunky cranberry sauce, main dish was a pile of delicious raisin walnut stuffing smothered in at least 3 thick slabs of turkey breast. Highly recommend! Dessert is on its way! Later folks! Ps: included in our Thanksgiving Special was pie and coffee. 4 pies Ro choose from: blueberry, apple crumb, coconut custard and pumpkin. We had the coconut custard. Fresh and melted in our mouths. BTW, as far as coffee is concerned, they have THE BEST tasting coffee of ANY diner/restaurant I've ever had. I was so excited when I went back to NY for a visit from NC, which has no dinners at all, when I'm driving down Bell Blvd. and see Neptune diner, I turned to my aunt and said we are going there for breakfast I always went to the one in Astoria and had my Greek omelet just cheese and home fries it was as delicious as I remembered. I went back once more before I had to leave NY to my new home in Leland, NC. I read that the Astoria location closed, that is so sad I remember going there since the 80's it was our stop early in the morning after going out dancing. New Yorkers and Jersey people that have moved to NC miss diners if only the owners from Neptune would come to Leland and opened a true Greek diner. Neptune will always be one of my stops when I visit NY. read more

Service was slow to take my order. Food was also slow coming out of the kitchen. Thank goodness it wasn't busy because I couldn't imagine how long I would have to wait then. Cheese burger deluxe and a vanilla shake is what I ordered. Burger tasted funny like it was ground beef mixed with something. I asked the wait staff for Mayonnaise and he didn't bring it so I finally asked the busboy. Vanilla Shake also had an after taste. Ugh !! This was my first and last time eating at this place. Not happy with this place at all. This place, unfortunately like many other restaurants and diners, seems very understaffed. I came in a little later than the rest of my group (of two people) to find parking and when I got in, I was able to walk in with no one checking my vaccination status. That and the fact that other than the busboys none of the staff was wearing a mask was extremely concerning. We were seated at the table right by the glass door on the side. There's no curtain. On a Sunday late morning the sun was basically burning us. Then after we ordered, food took a long time. Several parties that were seated after us (including a large group of about 8, as well as two smaller tables) received their food at least 10 minutes before us. When my wife walked up to the front to let the manager know, he asked her "what did you order?". It's not like there's lobster thermador or beef Wellington on the menu. He clearly had no idea what he was doing. Food was decent, not great but decent. The corned beef hash was way too salty which made me think it wasn't made there. Others in my group were satisfied with the food. Our server was clearly way overworked. She was very friendly when we saw her but that was very seldom. Coffee runners were fast - never had so many refills or toppers of coffee before. So I guess those were the only positives. Unfortunately this place is always going to get business. Second time trying out this diner that replaced Jackson Hole. Art Deco styled diner with decent food but it needs more flavor. Atmosphere is cozy and service is nice. Though, the portions are on the smaller side. I wish the waffle fries were seasoned! read more

I really wanted to like this diner! It took a long time to order our food! There was only one handicap spot in the whole parking lot. I had to park on the street. the food was greasy. It was a chicken dish and some of the chicken was fatty. I had to wait 15 minutes to get a check and then I had to wait another 10 minutes to pay the check at the register there is nobody there and a line.! But the worst part is I got diarrhea when I got home I'm not positive if it was the food or not, but the fact remains, there is grease on the french fries and chicken. read more

Northern Bayside has recently suffered the loss of both of its mainstay diners. Fortunately, Neptune Diner has emerged from the shell of the old Jackson Hole (RIP) to make sure that the area's residents have a place to get great diner fare. The diner has been completely renovated and updated from the prior establishment. It's modern but comfy. The food here is classic diner fare but they've definitely got a great roster of sandwiches for people to choose from. The brunch menu also looks pretty enticing. The food here is good and familiar. The gyro platter was nice and although they gave me those strips (not the shaved pieces from a spit), the salad and pita were fresh and tasted great. Burgers were large and cooked just right and their fries were hot and crispy. Desserts here were also a hit. Their chocolate layer cake was moist and the carrot cake was no slouch either. Service here is very good and friendly and prices are what you usually expect from a diner. Thumbs up. read more

What a breath from fresh air on Bell Blvd. Love seeing a new business that has Excellent food, attentive staff with expertise (i believe this is there 2nd diner) in both the front of the house as well as the kitchen. Before we sat down we were pleasantly greeted at the door, asked to scan our temperature and fill out contact tracing, we didn't mind and encourage you to do the same. This is Covid19. Once we sat at out table , it was wiped and sanitized prior to us sitting. They brought out the S/P , hot sauce and ketchup after they were sanitized. We ordered coffee and fresh fruit to start. The coffee came out HOT, in clean cups and the fruit was deliciously fresh cut fruit. The grapes were OUTSTANDING! We also order healthy omelets that came to the table hot and really looked amazing and tasted even better. The bathrooms were clean and have touchless sinks and amenities. NICE TOUCH, pun intended. I highly recommend YOU to come and experience for yourself, not just my humble opinion this NEW Neptune Diner in Cozy Bayside. Tonight I had one of the most vile meals I've had in a long time - Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti. First of all the chicken was a thick slab of poultry which was hard and and chewy and I couldn't even cut it with a sharp knife; the only way to eat some of it was to try and gnaw it like a dog would with a bone. The tomato sauce was repulsive and it tasted like a vat of oregano was dumped in it. I like oregano like the next person but this was ridiculous. To make matters worse, this cost be almost $30 not including tax and tip. I was heartbroken when the Bayside Diner closed and was hoping to replace them with the Neptune but based on this meal, I see that I'll have to limit myself to burgers and breakfast. read more

The Neptune diner has been a welcoming addition to Bayside. I have never been there for dinner but they never disappoint with their breakfast or lunch or in today's occasion, brunch. They never have a long wait for a table. The food is always served cooked to order and bought out all together. Possibly the best French Toast in town and their burgers, omelettes,salads and triple decker sandwiches are what you would expect from a great quality NY Diner. The staff is vey friendly and attentive. Water and coffee are always being replenished and you never feel rushed. Neptune Diner has become our go to spot for breakfast and lunch. read more

Came for dinner wanting breakfast food. The diner wasn't too busy on a Tuesday evening. We were seated immediately. One had an omelet and the other the lumberjack (waffle with scrambled eggs, a piece of ham, bacon and a sausage. Everything was good. The waffle was delicious, crispy outside but soft inside. WE WERE CHARGED TWICE AND THEY WON'T REVERSE THE CHARGES: I used to love this place. They've been around for a long time in Astoria. But my brother-in-law was charged twice on his credit card on Christmas Day (the charge went through on 12/27). The waitress said she had trouble ringing up the charge. She rang it up first without the tip ($133), and then with the tip $158. She said the first time it didn't go through, but it did go through, and we were billed twice. A total of: $291.20. We're not blaming the waitress, but the diner now hasn't reversed the charge for $133.10, or tell my brother-in-law's credit card company that the charge for $133.10 is incorrect. They told his credit card company the charges are correct. My brother-in-law called several times to speak with the manager. They say their accountant will call him back, but so far it's been about two weeks and no one has called. I feel horrible because I recommended this place to my family who was in town from Washington, DC for Christmas. They were nice to pay for dinner and now were billed twice. I have been here before and the food was decent and the renovations were nice. My family loves going to diners. I thought this may be our new spot. I know I was bringing family and friends there since they opened, but not anymore :( They lost all our future business. . read more

My only complaint is they only do eggs fried or scrambled except for the huevos rancheros, which they do poached. Limited parking available. The churros French toast was good. They used brioche bread. I would let it sit for a couple of minutes. The first slice I cut into was a little undone. The other three were fine. Price wasn't bad for the portion.
