The Sunrise Diner, located at 4504 Parsons Blvd., Flushing N.Y. 11355, is a HORRIBLE place. I am basing this review, on my experience there. I had an issue with my food order, and instead of resolving it, the morning shift manager, and waitress, both argued with me, in front of other customers. I felt very embarrassed and upset, by my experience at this diner. I would not recommend anyone, to eat here. The staff, have bad attitudes, and the food, in my opinion, is TERRIBLE. read more

Had unche here 3 X's during a recent visit to Flushing (I was at a nearby Airbnb, to the curious). All my meals were average, not well seasoned and as noted on one of my photos the guacamole burger (which I misguidedly thought would be good, great actually, as a sign is posted on the diner's door it's one of its "daily specials") I not only didn't think was great it was too greasy, not flavorful & if that's not enough overpriced at $12.95. Only consistently good thingI had here were my coffee, which I thought was really well made & the waiters. They were very nice. Unfortunately that said though the fries were okay I didn't think they were anything special as they seemed like they were from frozen packaging, which can ALWAYS be purchased at just about any American supermarket. While working we wanted to have something simple and we're tired of the local selection for lunch restaurants. I recently started the Keto diet, so I've got to get very strategic when planning meals. My friend decided on a avocado burger, I had a bun-less Texas burger with a side of avocado. I believe the pride was $8.95 on the lunch menu. The patties were simple, not bad. Nothing to write home about. We didn't splurge on fancy drinks or desserts after 3 of us spent $12 with Tax/Tip for sandwiches. I really don't have a reason to return. Service was very good here but for the quality, I find this diner heavily overpriced. They really could benefit from a renovation as well. Its been decades since we've been to this diner. We used to come here a lot for breakfast but I think it was called by another name. I ordered the mushroom burger deluxe and my daughter ordered the avocado burger deluxe. She said that her burger was good as were the fries. My hamburger was cooked perfectly and was juicy. The fries were perfectly as were the onion rings. We did have to ask for coleslaw and pickle that was supposed to come with the deluxe burger platters. This is your basic NYC (in queens) diner food, no frills just ordinary burgers and fries but that's what my daughter wanted..."diner food". The only issue was that they only accept cash but that's not displayed anywhere in the diner, not even near the register. My daughter wanted to use her debit or credit card but the waitress said "cash only". She's lucky that I had cash on me this time, lol I always start my reviews with 4 stars then upgrade or downgrade according to service and food. I've lived fairly close to this diner for a few years now and have never ordered from here till today. I finally decided to try one of their sandwiches since I was craving diner food lately. I had dismissed these folks in the past due to the mixed reviews but I'm glad I took a chance here. I'm glad that the restaurant is open during COVID-19 and hopefully I'll be able to dine in-person soon and not just order take out. I wish the restaurant had longer hours or stayed open later given my work schedule but I can understand that there might not be enough business for them to stay open later. read more

Don't listen to reviews below. Who goes to a. Diner for shrimp scampi or fettuccini Alfredo. Breakfast is excellent. Especially when you're craving that semi greasy sunny side egg, home fries, overly buttered toast. That's what I expect from a diner and that's what I got. Price is reasonable. Its a greasy spoon. GREASY! Also the service is super slow. I do come here frequently for what it's worth. When you order your burger deluxe, they always get the temperature wrong. The burger is usually overcooked but it is worse when they give you raw food. The omelets are usually ok. I would suggest the veggie omelet. Fries are usually safe bets but when you order and there is no one else in the restaurant, you either get very crunchy hot fresh fries or something that sat there for too long. It's hard to say. So when should you eat here? 11 am to 2 pm. Earlier and you will get sleepy service that is almost non existent. After 2pm and the food might sit around too long because the lunch rush is over. They are closed just before 5 pm anyway. DO NOT ORDER ANY SEAFOOD HERE. I have warned you. You have been warned. read more

I know why there are no reviews, because there's nothing really to say. Food is average to sub par. Service the same. Hard to get a second cup of coffee. Egg sandwich and egg white wrap. Ordered dinner for delivery. Ordered Shrimp scampi which came with veggies and a Cesar salad. The shrimp were over cooked and the dish was drenched in butter and lemon sauce. The dish came with rice as opposed to noodles and the lemon flavor was so overwhelming that it was no edible. The cesar salad was NOT a cesar salad and came with a yogurt based dressing along with tomato and onions. It looked like more of a house salad than anything else. Server was nice. The food tasted old, and not fresh at all! My bagel was stale. Pancakes seemed to be microwaved instead of cooked old fashioned. The cook gets upset if you want to bag your food up. Its just not good quality diner food. read more

Ordered a Hamburger deluxe cooked medium. I got my order and the burger was almost raw. The lettuce was a very small wilted leaf with old discolored tomatoes. My wife and I are staying at an Airbnb down the street and decided to have lunch here. The place itself is an old school diner in the best possible way. It has a homely and welcoming feel with deserts on display behind the counter and coat hangers on every booth. I wish I could remember our server's name but she was very sweet. I had the deluxe mushroom burger. Subtle seasoning and cooked perfectly. I also tried my wife's chopped steak (which was massive) and mashed potatoes, both were just as good. We also took two grilled cheeses to-go which I can't wait to start eating. We left just as it seemed the dinner rush was beginning but from what we experienced, the other customers were just as friendly as our server was. It seems like the local "go-to" place for good food and a friendly quiet place to sit and chat with a loved one or stranger. My husband and I flew in from Miami earlier today to visit a sick family member in Bayside. I was extremely stressed and anxious post flight and being overwhelmed with the transportation situation (it was my first time using public transportation in this way, and in a new city mind you). As we walked toward our Airbnb, we spotted a cozy little diner and considered stopping in for dinner. I'm so glad we did! It's an old school, straight forward diner (which I love) and the menu has an unbelievable variety. The food was so good -- I can't remember the last time I went out to eat and had such a comforting, tasty meal. I ordered the chopped sirloin steak with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli, and a cup of lentil soup. It was all so delicious!!! My husband had a mushroom burger with fries and it was also fantastic. Our server was really nice too, I can't remember her name but she was awesome. We also took two grilled cheeses to go. We're here until Saturday morning, but I can already tell you we're probably going to be coming back a couple more times before then. Thank you guys!!!! read more
