I occasionally stop by Uncle Bill's on the weekend when I'm headed to Flushing to go food shopping. There's plenty of parking available. It's busy on weekend mornings so we usually end up at a table instead of one of the booths. Today, from the weekend brunch menu, I ordered the Greek omelette with home fries, rye toast, and tea; and my SO ordered the Big Breakfast (2 eggs over medium, bacon, sausage, home fries, white toast, pancakes and coffee). The food came out after a little wait. The food was tasty and my home fries were well done as requested. My SO said his food was good and the meat was cooked well, but he mentioned that the home fries came out a little cold and the pancakes were a little dense. The servers came by several times to check on us and refill the coffee/hot water. Overall, Uncle Bill's is a solid breakfast/brunch spot (I've never visited here in the afternoon or evening, so I can't speak to their lunch or dinner offerings). I've been to Uncle Bill's Diner in Queens twice for breakfast, and both times were a solid hit. The food was consistently hot, fresh, and delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, crispy bacon, and French fries that were hot and crunchy the perfect sidekick to any breakfast plate. The coffee was brewed fresh and tasted great, too. Sitting at the bar area was nice as I only had a short amount of time to sit and eat. Friendly staff who made the experience even better. We were craving diner food and came here in the afternoon on a Sunday right at the tail end of lunch rush. We were seated after waiting a few mins and the service was very friendly. We ordered a milkshake, hot tea, chicken lemon soup, a chicken parm sandwich and gyro wrap. There are numerous establishments near here, shopping center and several businesses establishments to select from, which is good thing (Mc Donalds, Pizza, Subway, Wendys, Popeyes, ,..) . They are open 24/7. They been here for years. We love coming for breakfast here. They have a good number of breakfast specials to select from. There portions are good and food is tasty. The establishment is clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. They were well staffed. The dining area is decent size and it does have adequate seating. I'm usually skeptical about ordering from Diners for dinner because you usually go to diners for Breakfast and Brunch (eggs, bacon sausages and pancakes). But after having a really great dining experience with my friends on our first try, I decided to order delivery tonight with them. I ordered the Broiled Tilapia Entree (it came with a choice of potato which I chose Baked and a side of mixed steamed vegetables) + Chicken Francaise over pasta. Both entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. I ordered one of each. Delivery took 30 minutes. The food came piping hot. Everything was packaged carefully. The food was seasoned to perfection and wasn't too salty. Everything was just perfect. My mother was satisfied. My mother loved the food and couldn't stop raving about it. It's usually hard to satisfy my mother's palette when it comes to ordering takeout because most of the food is salty and oily. But not the entrees we ordered at Uncle Bill's. She loved it so much and can't wait to go back. With the rise in rent and cost of food, a lot of diners have closed around Queens. I had a terrible experience tonight with my order from Uncle Bills. The order was taken easily and delivery was super fast. After that, the train came off the track. #1-Asked for salad with No onions, salad came filled with onions. #2-Asked for chocolate layer cake, received 7 layer cake, which I dislike. When I questioned the restaurant he said it was their only layer cake. WHY wasn't I told when I asked fir chocolate layer. #3-I ordered fried fillet which I have had there before.
