Ordered from Uncle Bill's Diner twice. One time to dine in and the other time delivery via Doordash. I'm usually skeptical about ordering from Diners for dinner because you usually go to diners for Breakfast and Brunch (eggs, bacon sausages and pancakes). But after having a really great dining experience with my friends on our first try, I decided to order delivery tonight with them. I ordered the Broiled Tilapia Entree (it came with a choice of potato which I chose Baked and a side of mixed steamed vegetables) + Chicken Francaise over pasta. Both entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. I ordered one of each. Delivery took 30 minutes. The food came piping hot. Everything was packaged carefully. The food was seasoned to perfection and wasn't too salty. Everything was just perfect. My mother was satisfied. My mother loved the food and couldn't stop raving about it. It's usually hard to satisfy my mother's palette when it comes to ordering takeout because most of the food is salty and oily. But not the entrees we ordered at Uncle Bill's. She loved it so much and can't wait to go back. With the rise in rent and cost of food, a lot of diners have closed around Queens. I hope Uncle Bill's Diner continues to do well and serve their local community! read more

Ordered breakfast Togo from here 9/24. When I received my order the coffee had spilled in the bag as if someone had tossed my order on the counter I had to ask for a replacement bag. I asked for French fries with my order instead they gave me home fries that were old, burnt and possibly heated up from the day before. Fantastic find! We needed breakfast and this joint delivered. Try the big breakfast...it's aptly named. Very impressed. Not glamorous by any stretch of the imagination, but the food is great. We stopped in for breakfast one morning while visiting the area (thank goodness for my GPS, it's not quite easy to find this joint) and sat down to a nice meal. In and out quickly, too. Good spot. Something not right about this diner. Unfortunately itsclose to my hotel and open late. However, most food taste like it's microwaved, for example , soups and lemon potatoes. A lot of the food like coke slaw and the chicken has the freezer taste. Last night, I tried the beef barley soup, tasted ok , definitely microwaved, literally 1 small tiny piece of beef, the size of 3 corn kernels. I also had their chicken wrap, once again, barely any chicken in it, probably amount of chicken wing and a half. I'm done with this diner. read more

I work for a large company several blocks away and we order from here a good amount. We usually order a lot so occasionally, of course, there's gonna be a few mix ups and we've always taken it with stride... but today was the breaking point. First, they're expensive, so my advice to them is if you're gonna charge high prices, you better keep your service an A+. We ordered three big breakfast meals to be split among 6 people and a "fountain soda." The bill was almost $50. When our food arrived we realized the soda was left out right away. I call the diner and the gentleman that answered said, "ok, fine, we'll send him back". We open our bags and then realize the toast was left out of one meal and another meal was missing sausage and bacon. I call them back. The same gentleman answered. He said, "the guy already left." Um, ok, not my problem. He puts me on hold, returns, and says the guy will bring everything else. Great. The delivery guy arrives, we take the bag and tip him, and after he leaves we realize one - toast is weirdly soggy and two - the "foundation soda" that cost $2.75 + tax was a CAN of coke. Excuse me? We just spent over $50 (with the tip) and not only do they screw up the order but try to scheme us over with a can that costs a $1? WE HAVE A SODA MACHINE DOWNSTAIRS. We could have bought a $1.50 20oz and saved money. I call them back. The same gentleman answers and I ask him about this soda. His response was with an attitude and says "It's all we have." WELL - Then maybe don't offer something that you don't at a higher price point and then give something far less. Absolutely unacceptable. Although we work in a large building, our private company with over 120 employees, will not be ordering from Uncle Bill's again because of this wonderful Saturday morning experience. read more

Does this place discriminate against redheads? I sat down at the bar here, though not really all that hungry & there was only one couple in a booth here. I saw them cleaning up in the kitchen & thought maybe they were closing soon yet they didn't lock the door. I waited and then more people came in. I saw another couple sit in a booth & get served. Then more people came in, sat at the bar & one lady got served. Some of the people were the same race as me so I figured it wasn't racial discrimination but newsflash for the guy working Sunday night: YOU are the server. I saw another customer have to go pester this guy to get another cup of coffee & he wasn't exactly tied up with tons of customers at the time. I was not about to go ask the SERVER to serve me. I didn't even get a menu. Obviously, I'm not coming back & can't feel motivated to try the food. read more

The dying breed of dining is slowly disappearing in the Queens area. Once full of many diners with excellent quality, now they are slowly disappearing. There is one that is very convenient in the Pathmark complex in Whitestone. This ferret went there while shopping around, lets see if this place can make food beyond the breakfast course. Interior nothing fancy, semi clean. Bread crumbs on the seats etc. Bread and butter standard mass market. Pickle and slaw, nothing much to see here. Move on Chicken souvlaki was dry and the rice was mushy. Not good. Turkey Club has one of the driest sandwiches here. The fries are so so, but definitely not enough to make up for the dry sandwich. The rancheros was just a grilled pounded chicken breast on top of velveeta cheddar and white cheese slices, on tough pita bread. Oh yeah it was drizzled in bbq sauce. I was looking for a place around my house to have breakfast & discovered this place about a year ago. I've come about 2-3 times & it's a different experience each time. For the most part the food is really good, which is where the 4 stars come from. However, their service definitely needs work! I only took one star away because when I went this morning my server was very nice & attentive. I asked another waiter to move to a booth because they were all full when we arrived & he gave me such an attitude & said someone is moving there. I dropped in here after going to the D.M.V. across the street and was pleasantly suprised. I've had my fair share of dinners where basically everything but the kitchen sink is listed on the menu and wasn't expecting much, but the food and the service changed all that. First off the servers were attentive, fast and courteous. This is the combination that everyone who runs and establishment should look for, and I'm glad that the people at Uncle Bill's realize this. If anything service can make a terrible meal better and it's always great to see a smiling face. Secondly, surprise surprise, the food wasn't half bad. I'm not expecting 4 star food but this dinner was really good. I got the classic cheeseburger deluxe. The burger was cooked just right, juicy on the inside but with those wonderful grill marks on the outside. The fries were crispy and fresh tasting. No complaints here! I would recommend this place to anyone, especially those coming out in the early morning hours from their local haunt. I can see this place really hitting the spot then. read more

There's not a lot to like about this place. It's very mediocre, just like most of the restaurant choices in this shopping center. Pros - Great value on breakfast specials. Open 24/7. Fair prices in general. Cons - Agonizingly slow service (especially the one large male waiter who stands around and does anything but provide service - you almost have to beg to get anything). Average quality food at best. Bathrooms that look like a breeding ground for the plague. I especially like the toilet without a seat, which remained like that for at least 4 months. Way to go, management! This place is best avoided, but, sadly, it may be the best breakfast option in this shopping plaza. Worth the cab ride if you're around Flushing or Whitestone and need a diner to absorb some of the earlier beers. Water and coffee shows up quick. Eggs come out hot and cooked to order. Pretty decent diner food you can find in the little strip mall on Stratton. A bunch of other food places to choose from but who doesn't like diner food? Am I right ?? And if you're not in the mood to go out, no worries because they deliver. The hours here are amazing so you can always go out for a late night grub. Food is great and portions are better than most but the pricing is kind of high in my opinion. Been coming here for about two years and I always get either grilled chicken caesars wrap or grilled chicken salad. The price always seems to be different every time I order. The place looks very clean, I ordered steak and eggs with home fries, the home fries were perfect. However the steak tastes like it's been sitting in the fridge for too long and had no flavor.
