Pancake craving. Cane in here because I'd been having a pancake craving for weeks and searched on both Google and Yelp for place with great pancakes. This place came up on both and was close to where I was. Food: i ordered pancakes only not the deluxe. It was just okay. The chocolate chip pancakes were recommended and were a bit gummy/chewy. And syrup was not the right consistency (not runny). These are not great pancakes but edible... O my because of the chocolate chips and side of butter. Price: Pancakes alone were $9. No drink no sides. A little steep for not great pancakes Service: i was approached and seated right away. I was asked for my COVID vaccine evidence. The waitress was very friendly and provided reconditions on what to order. Order came quickly. Check paid at register. Con: no card under $10 Ambiance: basic diner feel. Plexi glass between booths. Nothing fancy or out of the ordinary

Look at that steak it's RAW!! Disgusting. Other food was low quality and cold and unacceptable. We left and went somewhere else

Omg steak was RAW!!! Not rare, completely RAW. All the food was terrible. Pancakes were cold and rubbery. Pancake syrup was low quality, butter wasnt butter I think it was margerine. Eggs were done incorrectly. We refused to pay for our food and left. The waiter had no problem and dumped it in the trash. I think he was aware that the place was not good. It's a Friday evening and only 1 other customer. Also the lighting looks like a police interrogation room

Rego Park Cafe is a decent medium size diner. Like most diners, they serve breakfast all day and their menu is very extensive with the choices of cuisine mainly being American (all kinds of sandwiches, burgers, meatloaf, soup, salad), Greek, Mexican and Italian. My friend and I ordered some gyro platters and the portions were very generous. They gave us a lot of french fries and salad. They were a little stingy on the gyro meat, but the overall amount of food was fair for the price. Service was very quick too. And for those who are too curious, they are following covid safety guidelines. Temperatures are being taken at the door and tables have been separated to ensure they maintain the mandated 25% occupancy. Ever since long time neighborhood staple Shalimar Diner closed down, this is your best bet for a passable diner.

I ordered eggs over easy homecries and bacon what a disaster the bacon wasn't cooked the eggs were smashed all over the home fries were hard I'll never order again from them there's like no egg at all and just slime all over its so gross I wouldn't feed this to my dog

Ordered breakfast a Saturday morning. I ordered a Greek omelette and a plain Belgian waffle. It was perfect for a lazy morning. The meal was tasty. All the condiments were sent with the delivery. From order to delivery I think I waited about 30 minutes. It was everything that was needed that morning

The food is okay - coffee was good my cheese steak omelette had craft cheese in it so yeah. Sadly I couldn't finish it.

THE ILLEGAL SERVICE FEE FOR DEBIT CARD USAGE

Food prices have increased, quality and quantity has decreased. ALSO beware it is ILLEGAL to charge a service fee with a DEBIT card. Visa has confirmed this and I have addressed this issue twice with staff and owner who completely disregard the law. They try to run card as a credit card to justify the fee but it clearly states it's a debit charge. She told me it was tax and I said there is a different amount for tax. She seemed flustered and was like come back later to talk to owner. I will be addressing this issue with Visa again

On a night when I felt too tired to even light the stove, I placed an order with Rego Park Cafe. The menu lists standard diner fare but I was craving a burger and was happy to see a vegetarian option. Having online ordering available makes the process an antisocial introvert's dream - I was able to place and even customize my veggie burger deluxe (no butter or mayo on the bun, extra ketchup) without having to pick up the phone and speak to another human being. I got to the diner to pick up my order about five minutes after I placed it, being fully prepared to wait for it. There were only two other diners and with the rundown appearance of the small railway style interior, it had a somewhat depressing feel on a Monday night. Still, the man who confirmed my order was quick and polite, calling back the specifics of my order to the kitchen. There was a small snafu with the cash register when it locked, but he and another worker dug pickup took about seven minutes and I found myself impressed with the celerity in spite of the diner's obviously unglamorous appearance. The veggie burger deluxe came with lettuce, tomato, pickles, piping hot fries, and coleslaw. By the time I sat down at home several minutes later, it was still hot and prepared to my specifications, albeit a little crumbly (a common problem with veggie burgers and not their fault). Online ordering was seamless and service (at least, on a quiet Monday) was just fine. I've passed by the diner on weekends and found it much more packed, so clearly this is a neighborhood standby.

We were also intrigued to try the sangria that yelp raved about. We got a pitcher! It did NOT disappoint. It was a decent size pitcher for the price. Roza came to us and asked if we liked it and told us it was her recipe. No sugar ,No soda .It was tasty, thick full of fruit and definitely had liquor because I left with a buzz She also brought out the rosè for us to try pretty good too very refreshing will definitely do that one in warmer weather. I got the Dbar burger it was good but so big I didn't finish it all. My husband got the rib eye burger. He liked it but it was a little to greasy for him he didn't finish it. My 13 year old wanted breakfast. It was not in the menu but we figured we ask since it is a diner. She got pancakes with fruit and scrambled eggs. My youngest daughter got from the kids menu grilled cheese with fruit she enjoyed it so much we had to order another. Both girls for the marshmallow milkshake they LOVED it! For appetizers we got calamari good but could've used a little more breading. Also got chips with guacamole and honestly for a diner it was delicious. Everyone was friendly. Roza knew she had a bday past since we conversed for a bit and suggested we can sing her happy bday and asked what she liked I told her chocolate cake. They asked for the correct spelling of her name which I thought was sweet. Anyway the staff came out and sang with us super cool. Even the bathrooms are really clean. It was a great experience will definitely come back.I must be honest it's a hit pricey. The price for the pancakes with eggs was $23 when we saw the bill I was a little surprised. Kids' meals are $13 and I thought we were getting the cake (free, lol) since I technically didn't suggest it. It was $12 for a slice. But overall it was a pleasure she even gave us a sample of vodka with lemon and ginger which was actually good and helps settle the stomach.

I got the pancakes with blueberries with a side of bacon and the honey cinnamon latte. My cousin got the sausage egg and cheese roll with a drip coffee. I heard him making jokes with customers and asking people for feedback. Now to the rest of it: service is weird and slow. When we were seated, we had to wait a little bit until receiving menus. Water wasn't automatically given to us also, so you have to ask. A woman took down our order, but later asked if we got waffles, even though I said pancakes - overall took 25 minutes to get our order of a salad and pancakes. Pancake platter came with two pancakes, two eggs, and a couple berries on the side. There's also an option to add sausage or bacon but no price there, which adds to the confusion. When we pointed it out, they removed the charge from our bill. There were maybe 3 people who stood behind the coffee bar which is kind of around a corner, making it hard to get service if you're not in their field of vision. Kind of strange there isn't a clear welcoming desk or something like that. Also, I think the menu uses AI as photos - there's a picture of a burger with fries and chips, but I don't think they serve chips. There's also a picture of cake with garlic next to it, which could be an artistic choice. We didn't get any drinks, but there was a table next to us who abandoned their full cups of Nutella lattes which was interesting.

It has very good quality food and excellent service. Other than the owner, most servers barely can communicate in English. However, I always felt welcomed and appreciated. In today's environment with so much hatred in the air, this place feels like an oasis right in my backyard. The food is always solid, with the salami breakfast plate being one of my favorites. It comes with three pieces of juicy and flavorful thick cut salami and three pieces fried cheese, two perfectly cooked running eggs, along with mashed plantains. Delicious! I also like their lunch foods, such as pernil and oxtail. The turkey wings are tasty, but a but dry. Their soups are some of my most ordered items as well. I loved the old school aesthetic from the outside and all the details on the inside. THE BETTY BOOPSSSSS are the absolute best! I could not get enough. Didn't take too long for a table, maybe 15 minutes. It's popular for those who know. We got seated in the back.
