Passing through Bayside NY on 11/1, me and my plus one stopped in for a hearty breakfast. I parked on the street because we were going elsewhere. I found out that they have a parking lot with valet parking. I don't know if the valet parking is mandatory or you can park your own car. We received exceptional service today. The greeting was warm, our waiter was patient and friendly and Fernando, (the person that brings you water, tea, or coffee when you are seated), was exceptional. He created a relaxing environment all around. He was the first to meet us at the table and the last. Fernando is a peoples person and an asset to this diner. He's an influencer, when I come back, it will be because of the interaction with Fernando! I had the heart healthy wrap with I found to be flavorless. Not enjoyable at all but I'm not a connoisseur of eating heart healthy omelettes or wraps. I also had the homefries which was supposed to have onions. I didn't see any nor did I taste any but it was delicious. It was crispy and very delicious. I also had the turkey sausage. Now I am a connoisseur of turkey sausages. These sausage were very fresh and I have yet to taste any turkey sausages like these. Hands down uncomfortable. So I can add this diner to collection of preferred diners. read more

We came here for lunch as all diners they have a very extensive menu. However, I was able to pick something. I picked the Nets sandwich. They have many sports themed sandwiches that sound good. The nets sandwich had corn beef & pastrami I added sautéed onions. It was good. My friend had the Mets which was hot roast beef which looked really good. I'll try that next time. North Shore is a Queens mainstay. North Shore diner has been on this corner for 30+ years. In what seems like a past life at this point, I used to frequent North Shore mainly after a late night out. Those night are fewer and fewer sadly. It had been a while and I recently returned mainly for a birthday lunch for an old friend. The food was never anything extraordinary, standard fare for a diner open pretty much all the time. I want to say the food was better back then or maybe it was because I didn't know any better. I remembered eating a lot of breakfast along with an occasional steak and eggs at 3am. Those were really fun times. The breakfast this time was a little stale, the corned beef was noticeably dry. I should have gotten the burger which I was told was better. The onion rings and fries were ok. I'm not sure if it's been the same owners all this time. It basically looks the same as it was the last time I was here. The one modern update is a charging station up front for those that need to juice their phones. When I no longer see North Shore Diner on this corner I will miss seeing it for sure even if I am no longer a regular. read more

It comes with your choice of varieties of omelettes, cup of soup , home fries or French fries, choice of toast and a fountain drink. I have to say , a pretty good deal ! I recently returned to this diner after more than four years, having last visited before the pandemic. I stopped by on a Friday evening and was surprised to find it nearly empty. I ordered the Avgolemono soup, which, while tasty lavorful, was filled so up to the brim that it spilled all over the plate it was on --definitely not the best presentation. Alongside the soup, I had the Exotic Italian Salad, which came with dressing on the side and a good bit of breadsticks. The service was attentive. We chose this diner mainly because it was one of the few places still open late at night. I think this is one of the best Diners of the many I have tried. The food is always excellent or great. I have gone there at different times of the day and yet the food is great. The attentiveness is unmatched in comparison to others I have gone to. We are always quickly escorted to our comfortable seating area. Did I mention that there is valet parking or self parking, your choice. One of my requirements at any restaurant I visit is to see if I am served good drinking water without asking for it. At North Shore Diner that is always the first thing served. There is a great choice of drinks or refreshments, for me is the sweet tea with a lemon. If I am in the Queens area I want to always go to this Diner, for me it is a refreshing treat. I highly recommend North Shore Diner for family events or just a solo breakfast dish. I know diners are a thing of the past but once in a while I crave "diner food " because it gives breakfast a different meaning these days at least to me . It makes me feel like I am getting a good breakfast when I eat at diners in the morning . It's been a while since I ate at a diner and I notice the prices have gone up a lot as 2 eggs any style is 10 dollars these days. Diners have closed down left and right these days and it's hard to find one that is still open these days . I ordered a small coffee and a egg Benedict . The waitress was very attentive and friendly . Checks in on me a couple times to see if I want more coffee. The whole diner vibe makes me feel so much better eating in the morning. The eggs were perfect as it was not too over cooked and not too running . Very Disappointed!!!! Our family has ordered dinner from this diner on Saturdays on a regular basis for years. The food has arrived fast and hot often. Well tonight our order was messed up. When I called and informed the woman who took my order over the phone of the mistakes, she said she would talk with the waiter and manager about the mishap. Sadly I never heard back from the diner. I guess no one at the diner cares when they screw up an order. I will NEVER order from the North Shore Diner again. There are about 8 diners within a square mile of North Shore. I've been to them all and North Shore is king. There is ample outdoor seating for those who would prefer eating outside. I prefer eating with some heat. We had a cheeseburger, eggs Benedict, and eggs with corned beef hash. Everything overall was good, above average. The food isn't mind blowing but it's good enough. That plus amazing service (our waiter was Mohammed) and you've got a four star experience. I left off a star because the prices were a bit high for what's served imo. $15 for an "ok" eggs Benedict is silly. The cashier lady could've said "thank you" and maybe smiled. A classic diner that does the job! My dad and I were biding time, and ordered a mixed greens salad ($11) and a plate of french fries with two cups of coffee. They gave us three thick slices of warm challah with butter and honestly that slapped harder than anything we ordered! The coffee was average, and the salad was chock full of olives and tomatoes. Fries were thick sliced and decent. Tbh i think diners are so social- people ofc come to eat large portions of comfort food, but also to talk about things that matter. Eavesdropping is so entertaining, and you hear everything from couples arguing to grannies gushing over their cats. This diner truly embodies that spirit and maybe someday if i have the guts ill come by myself. They have outdoor seating, a clean bathroom, and both valet and regular parking. North Shore holds a special place in my heart as it was my go to growing up; whether it was a family breakfast or a late night snack with friends, it was where we always went. Everyone has a neighborhood diner they like/love. This is my family's "go to" place. While there are diners left and right of me...I still venture back here for their good eats (portions are good too) and friendly service. The wait staff is always smiling and the management aims to please. I've never had a bad dining experience here, been coming here for 6+ years. My hubby used to come here as a teenager so they've been in business for a long time. It is Greek owned in case anyone is wondering. Their restaurant is clean, well kept, seats are comfy and the tables are spaciously laid out. This place looks like a classic old school diner and reminds me of my childhood days when I used to frequent diners (almost weekly) - both for the food and the casual vibe. Nostalgia if you will. There's something for everyone, it's a diner after all, ...even for my picky eater (she's 7), she loves their egg white scramble (soft). My family and I tend to frequent here on the weekends - especially on Sunday's for their egg plates and soups. We all LOVE the Cream of Turkey soup - cup or bowl, you decide but it's always creamy and always satisfying. The prices here are competitive with other diner locations nearby so just know that that part is typical. We've also made a tradition of coming here every Thanksgiving day as well. As we don't traditionally have turkey, we do come here to have it and get our cravings fulfilled. Both the hot open turkey sandwich or the turkey dinner plate special is worth the price. You get generous portions. The menu must haves: do try their poached eggs, burgers (any kind), my fav is the bacon cheeseburger with fries - steak fries, and their omelets - anything you want in it, just order it. North Shore is one of our regular restaurant stops because they have good comfort food you'd want from your neighborhood diner. There are dinner specials every night, usually with choices of fish, pork, beef & lambs entrees and each would come with soup, salad, vegetable & potato with coffee & dessert included. Not much of a better deal anywhere. Who doesn't like soup?! Soup is always my favorite. They have 4-5 daily choices like chicken noodle, matzoh ball, cream of turkey, Manhattan clam chowder and lentil, navy bean or split pea on most days. My son even invented his own bread bowl made with a hollowed out dinner roll from the bread basket and filled it with cream of broccoli soup. Breakfast is always a good idea as they serve it all day so that you can get your eggs, bacon and pancakes at any meal. The burgers are a good choice also because they flame grill them and you taste the smokey charred difference from one made on a flat top grill. Plus they're served on toasted kaiser rolls, so no soggy buns here and the patty is as big as the roll! You'll appreciate this if you get one with a sauce like a pizza burger. Finish off your meal with a slice of pie or cake (included with dinner specials) or take it home with you. Solid three stars. Stopped in here at about 9:30am today after an early appointment at a nearby doctors office. Was seated immediately. Water, menu and a coffee arrived soon thereafter. Got a standard diner special: juice (orange), two eggs (sunny side up) with ham, potatoes, and toast (whiskey down (Diner talk for rye)). Service was quick and on point.
