I have eaten from this restaurant numerous times with a tiny issue once in a blue, but yesterday is unforgivable. I ordered a steak, eggs, and homefries platter via Grubhub. The order arrived and everything looked good until the 3rd bite. There was a strand of hair under my steak which was disgusting enough but then it got even better as I looked at the homefries to find more hair cooked into the cheddar cheese and the homefries. The hair looked liked it was plucked from someone's head because it was 2 strands from the root. Unbelievable and gross. I called the restaurant and explained what happened, asked if staff uses hair nets and was told they wear hats but no on has long hair? Despite that, an apology was given but no compensation was offered simply I will have Grubhub take it off the bill? Great customer service after being a loyal customer for a few years already. Love the tuna melt and curly fries!! Have had it several times. I also love their smashburger- delicious! For breakfast, the holiday wrap is my fav with added jalapeños. Such a treat, def a place to indulge. The decor is very retro, it's cute, the place is I clean and the service is quick. Where's the 57 Chevy bel air? :) The food here is not bad, with that said the main entrées we had were delicious, the sides were mediocre. The onion rings were overcooked and hard, the fries, cole slaw and pickles were blasé. As I mentioned earlier, the entrées are very good, the Marlon Brando burger was juicy and delicious and I love the over easy egg on top. The tuna melt was toasted nicely with a healthy slab of cheese, can healthy and cheese be used in the same sentence? :) The Edsel chicken sandwich was well seasoned, moist and delicious. Super cute, 50's theme diner They only had 1 waitress when I dined on a busy Saturday morning, she did a good job keeping up with all the tables. Typical diner menu, they did have some "specials" which seemed interesting and most dishes come with fresh squeezed OJ. I had the Mexicali Press which was smaller than expected, very good but needed more spice. Coffee is on the bitter side, they have flavored syrups available which I got on the side and added in which made it more bearable. read more

Did an advanced order through Uber Eats for three people. A couple hours before the cutoff, I edited my order changing my soda from a black cherry to a diet root beer and removing the mac 'n cheese bites. They swapped the soda, but kept the mac 'n cheese bites without charging me. Strange, but hey, you wanna give me free mac 'n cheese bites? No big deal. What IS a big deal is that I ordered a chicken sandwich called the Edsel and it was the saddest chicken sandwich I've ever had. This thing was so greasy, I could practically see my reflection in the bun. I had to clean my hands off with a napkin every time I touched it. The inside was soggy. Completely flavorless. This is a nice neighborhood diner with nostalgia decor. Definitely has a traditional vibe from 57!! The kitchen is located in the middle of the restaurant and you watch your food being cooked and prepared. Our server was attentive and brought food fairly quickly. Breakfast was delicious. I've taken my girls a few times after running errands in the area. They love the decorations. The drinks - vanilla sodas and milkshakes are amazing. We've only had the burgers and chicken so far. I just order two chicken sandwiches both with grilled onions The onions that they put in the sandwich were the skins of the onions, they couldn't even be chewed it was like eating shoe leather. Absolutely disgusting. I don't know if they ran out of onions or what but this is unacceptable. Paying 8-9$ for a bacon egg and cheese on a roll, you'd think they put at least a minimum of 3 slices of bacon. It was not the case at all. My bf paid basically for just bread. 57s is consistent, FAST, and reliable. I probably order from them once a week and they always get my order right and honor my requests. Last night, based on a recommendation from my sister, I ordered a skirt steak salad. I am still in disbelief over how good it was. Perfect cook on the meat, still hot, and the salad wasn't wilted yet, so you know the order wasn't sitting before it got to me. Their burgers are fresh (they make a great patty melt!), fries are fresh and crispy, onion rings have a nice crunch while still soft in the middle. I enjoy the fajitas quite a bit as well. I decided on the tuna melt because it's made the way I grew up eating them. Grilled on rye with American cheese NOT an open face tuna melt most diners serve. I was very excited about this small detail that I immediately said to myself "I love this place." Unfortunately it does not come with fries (weird) so I ordered a side of onion rings and ranch. The onion rings are advertised on the menu as being served with ranch because obviously whoever made up the menu knows how onion rings should be served. My son ordered a triple decker and said it was the best one he's had (this is the only thing he ever orders at a diner). He liked the turkey being moist and not dry. Also his bacon was perfectly crispy and the sandwich was served with the appropriate amount of mayo already on the sandwich. He also had curly fries and we shared a strawberry milkshake. The burger looked good but tasted like nothing.. I dont know how else to say it but it had no flavor besides the bacon, bun and ketchup. Literally dry over cooked choice ground beef with the absence of any flavor. Chicken ceaser salad with very little chicken and a dressing that looked and tasted like straight up mayonnaise. It wasn't cheap either. When I called to complain, the man who answered sounded "shocked" in my opinion on the food and explained how they pride themselves on their burgers. I called the restaurant and they said the driver was "about to leave". Food is now 40 minutes later than the ending time for the delivery range. I've been coming here since I moved to Queens about 8 years ago. It is a neighborhood spot and now my son loves to go because they serve his food in an old-fashioned car! They have the best shakes, better than shake shack. If you get a sandwich with onions, ask for them burnt - omg so yummy! I tried a chicken salad with cheese this time that I saw on Yelp and it was really good. The staff is always friendly and personable. I heard some good things about this place so I had a special offer from Uber Eats and decided to cash it in from here. I ordered a cheddar cheese omelette with steak fries. Can't go wrong there. The food arrived in decent time. When I opened the dish all looked good. The omelette was a nice size and I received a very nice order of fries. I started to eat the omelette and was somewhat perplexed. The eggs were still hot but the cheese was not at all melted. I love cheddar cheese so it still tasted good but I don't think I've ever eaten an omelette where the cheese wasn't melted. It was like I needed a knife to cut the cheese so I could eat it. Strange. Today I found out that 57s All American Grill and Wow Cow a burgers have a very similar menu and are running out the same address. Since this address is being used by 57s American Grill they don't have a yelp for "wow cow burgers". Here is the review- it was a nightmare start to finish. I am 30 blocks away from them, literally. It took an hour and a half for the food to come. It was warm- no big deal that's how I prefer it anyway. My 12 oz Diet Coke that was 2.50 was FLAT. The waffle fries taste freezer burnt and they were very soggy. They were 6.50. I scraped the guacamole off my poorly constructed burger... $2. The rest of the order was ok- nothing special - never get a shake from here. I paid $9 for a 24 oz shake that they claim is "thick"... the shake was not thick... at all... So after all this I said whatever let me call the owner and see what he can do for me... his response was that I shouldn't have ordered it from Grubhub cause they take 40% of his sales and if I called him to place the order he would have maybe done something... he was yelling on the phone cause I said no customer should have to pay for freezer burnt fries or guacamole that's been sitting there for an hour on a burger. He continued to yell and blamed Grubhub for his disgusting food. He went to say that the fries were soggy cause of the way they were packed... cool.. YOU GUYS PACKED THIS NOT ME... I'm sure these two businesses are the same and they just made a new wow wow burgers on Grubhub to fool the locals that know this establishment has horrible customer service, the food is all frozen and prices are high.
