I picked Blu Ember at the Westin LGA simply because it was convenient before our flight--but it ended up being one of the best pre-airport meals I've ever had. This place had a lot of variety on its menu which I really enjoyed. We started off with the Shrimp Oreganata which I honestly thought was just okay. The shrimp seemed a little overcooked but the sauce went really well without. After, we were served the Spanish Octopus which I absolutely loved. The octopus was cooked perfectly and was nice and chewy but not overly chewy. I also really liked the potato wedges that it was served with. The Gochujang Chicken Sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches that I have had in a long time! The chicken was perfectly crispy and seasoned on the outside and still nice and juicy on the inside. It also came with extra pickles which I was very happy about. The fries were your thick cut fries and even though I do enjoy thin fries more, these were very nice and crispy on the outside so I enjoyed those as well. The seafood pasta was also really good. All of the seafood was cooked perfectly in this dish (even the shrimp) and the flavor was nice and tangy which is what I like in a red sauce. We finished the meal with a crème brûlée which was very nice and creamy. The brûlée on top was a little too sweet but I know it is just sugar so we just moved it to the side and finished the rest of it up! The serve was great and the host helped us out when she could because they hadn't opened the dinner section yet so majority of the staff wasn't in. Loved the chef's pick.. the rolls also ..so yummy. I actually ordered another roll afterwards. The sushi was very fresh. I could've easily eaten another round. The lobster wonton soup was so good. The broth was flavorful. It was even better than the wonton soup at Chilli. The steak was cheaper than the Wagyu at RH guesthouse but it was just as delicious. I loved my sea bass. Everything came in a good pace so I didn't have any of the issues mentioned in the other reviews. The few bad reviews I saw...were due to slow service? My waiter was so nice...and everyone who brought our food over was also very kind. I even spoke to our waiter for a lil bit. The drinks were so fun...they come with side offerings. The decor is beautiful and being so close to Halloween they had some decorations out... the service was great, our server Fiona was really friendly, attentive and had some suggestions for us. My parents and I enjoyed a nice family dinner here tonight. Ari was our server and she was kind and friendly. We started with the burrata and lobster roll. I really did like both, especially the burrata. The tomatoes were super fresh and vibrant. The lobster roll was nice, but kind of small, I would pass on that next time. My parents both had filet mignon and mashed potatoes which they liked as well. My dad said of the filet mignon "it could have been a bit bigger" lol. The mashed potatoes had some Japanese fish topping that Ari explained but I forgot what it was called. I had the fettucine bolognese, which was good as well! Next time I am definitely interested in having sushi. We had the tarte tatin as recommended, and it was really good. Its kind of like an apple pie. I definitely want to try this place for brunch. So...we decided to try out this restaurant because my kids love to try different places to eat. We went there for brunch. We were immediately seated near a big beautiful flower display. I was really looking for breakfast items but the prices were a bit alarming. I know most restaurants in hotels charge more than the regular places to eat. We settled on a prime rib with truffle fries, eggs benedict with smoked salmon, pancake with strawberries and blue berries and whipped matcha cream, Caesar salad. The steak was cooked medium and sliced up on the platter. Some of the pieces were more rare than the others. My kids ate the more rare pieces and I ate the ones more cooked on the ends. It was also served with a chimichurri sauce which I liked. The fries were delicious. I tried everything on the plates. My son thought the eggs benedict needed a more heartier bread to support the eggs benedict. The pancake was delicious. Everything tasted good except for the matcha cream which my kids said had a weird sparkling taste to it. We had to ask the server for ketchup and maple syrup. Unbeknownst to me at that time, my kids said that the server looked bothered that we had asked for these items. I mean...come on...you need maple syrup for the pancakes and ketchup for the fries! The female staff member came by to refill the water where needed. All in all, we thought it was good except how pricey it was. The restaurant was sort of empty when we got there - probably about 3 tables with diners. It was in the afternoon...maybe they get more guests in the evening. All in all, it was a good experience but I think there are much better restaurants in Flushing and less pricey. And the restaurant was a fairly long walk from where we parked in Flushing. Tried to add the lime that it came with, but made it worse. 6. Prime ribeye steak was pretty tender, but the sauce it came with was not good. Had no flavor. 7. Gnocchi with short ribs, gnocchi was overcooked and was very grainy, short ribs were super tender and flavorful. 8. Fettucine bolognese was too undercooked, not even al dente. 9. Spinach au gratin was super flavorful and seasoned well, but it was too overcooked to the point where it was a bit slimey. 10. Cocktails tasted like there was no alcohol in it whatsoever. It still tasted good, but just felt like I was given juice. Waiter was attentive, always refilling our glasses and checking up on us. Honest opinion, I wouldn't go back. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I feel it needs to be shared. I had a reservation today to celebrate my birthday and arrived before 6:00 PM. The main dining area had many empty round tables, yet the manager who greeted us insisted on seating us in a dark corner next to a black wall, far from the main dining space. When I politely explained that it was my birthday and that I came for the atmosphere, and asked if we could sit at one of the available round tables, I was told that round tables are "only for parties of five or more." This explanation did not feel reasonable, especially since the restaurant was not busy at that time. When I asked whether all those tables were fully reserved until 7:00 PM, the manager simply said yes, even though they clearly remained empty. What made the experience worse was the manager's attitude. She was dismissive and unwilling to communicate, which made us feel unwelcome. Later, I noticed that when non-Asian (white) guests arrived, she greeted them very warmly and enthusiastically. The contrast in treatment was uncomfortable and disappointing. I want to mention that another server was kind and understanding and helped cancel our reservation without any issues. Unfortunately, by that point, the experience had already ruined what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner, and we chose to leave. I did not come just to eat--I came for the environment and the experience. Being treated this way, especially on a special occasion, was upsetting and unnecessary. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides better, more respectful, and more consistent service to all guests in the future. read more

The interior design is elegant, chic, and modern but unfortunately that is all. Let's start with the service. The hostess greeted us with a great smile and walked us to our table. So it started well but as soon as the waitress came to the table, everything went down hill. We ordered several dishes and the food did come out in a timely manner. The issue was other than the Kumamoto oysters being fresh and the grilled octopus tasting great, everything else was mediocre. That alone would have made this dining experience fairly enjoyable but the 2 hispanic waitresses made several easily rectifiable mistakes but put no effort into fixing it. First off, while serving a dish, she stepped on my foot, looked down, removed her foot, and didn't even apologize. Another dropped a fork from our table while picking up the dishes, dropped another utensil on her way back, and completely forgot about the fork. Another server kept coming back to our table to fill our water but kept forgetting to pour my glass. To top it all off, while we are still finishing our desserts, the foot stepper decides she will give us the bill. This was the worst part as that's like telling us "Hurry up and pay so you can leave now". There were plenty of tables still available and there was absolutely no reason for her to do that.
