I had a nice time last night at the Moon rooftop. There was a $5 entry but it was nice since the music was jamming. It was 4 of us and we all ordered various drinks. Veleska our waitress has such a wonderful attitude. You would think they just opened with the energy she came with. We were there close to midnight. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. At first, I was excited to try this location and celebrate my friends birthday . Jimmy, the owner, initially seemed very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, the experience ended up being extremely disappointing. I booked a birthday gathering for 12 people. I was told there was a $40-per-person deposit, which was non-refundable, and that this amount would be applied as a credit toward food and drinks ordered during the event. My deposit totaled $480. I was also told there would be a 20% tip, which Jimmy said would be $95 in cash on the day of the event. The establishment also promoted drink specials, including happy hour from 5-8 PM and a buy-one-get-one promotion. However, when we arrived, those advertised deals were not honored. The biggest issue came when we received the bill. The bartending staff was extremely rude and unprofessional when I questioned charges on the receipt. We were being charged what appeared to be double amounts for certain items, along with an additional tip/fee. When I questioned the charges, the bartender argued with me and even threatened to call the police if I did not pay the additional amount. According to the receipt, the additional tip and fees brought the charges to approximately $525, despite our $480 deposit and the fact that we did not receive the drink specials that had been advertised. The food was also extremely disappointing. I ordered a steak with fries, as did several of my friends. The steaks were so poorly prepared that we had to send them back to be cooked again. Even after they were returned, the steak was still extremely hard and chewy. Let's keep in mind this was finger bar food that shouldn't have cost the amount we were being charged. The food was nowhere near the quality I would expect for the amount of money we spent. There also appeared to be no security or management present to properly handle the situation. When I called Jimmy during the situation to express my concerns and explain what happened, instead of listening and attempting to resolve the issue, he yelled at me over the phone. It's escalate the situation even more. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Between the advertised promotions not being honored, questionable charges, poor-quality food, rude and unprofessional service, and the way my concerns were handled by management, I would not recommend this place. For a birthday celebration with 12 people, spending close to $1,000 for poor food and terrible service was absolutely unacceptable. I expected much better and left feeling completely disappointed and taken advantage of. Three different receipts and I'm still confused. read more

My experience at Moon Bar Rooftop was extremely disappointing. The blonde Colombian bartender was completely rude and inattentive from beginning to end. She did little more than hand us menus and seemed far more interested in flirting with the male guests than actually providing service. When I asked for the bill, she continued doing several other things and left me waiting until I finally had to get up and ask the other Asian bartender, who was politely bussing tables, to help me get the check. He was very kind, courteous, and helpful. Mind you, this was a Monday evening, and the rooftop was fairly empty, so there was no excuse for such poor service. The prices were also ridiculous, 2-beers and a 5-piece order of wings came to $50. For that price, the food and service should have been much better. They also auto-tip themselves instead of bringing you the machine to tip they add their own gratuity and force a tip, very weird experience! We had their strawberry margaritas which were super refreshing and strong. Their food looked good even tho I did not order but everyone else around me seemed to be enjoying their food. We stayed there a bit a past happy hour and ordered a hookah which wasn't that great; it died out pretty quickly and cost $45. I walked past by their happy hour sign and got intrigued so decided to give a shot on a Friday night. The vibe is not bad, and they also have a far Manhattan view. In terms of drinks, the happy hour price buy one get one free only applies to the same person, meaning that you have to get 2 drinks to have the second one for free, which is fine. However, the cocktails were poorly mixed...we had Cosmopolitan and Mojito, which were not easy to drink because one tasted only vodka and the other one tasted like having too much syrup in there. I would say that beers are probably the safest choice. The most disappointing part is that the "party gratitude" is automatically applied to the bill, which I believe is more than 20%. We had only a party of two, and it doesn't make sense to have the tips automatically added to the bill. None of cocktail bars in the city with good crafted drinks do such a thing. Don't think that I will return next time cuz their happy hour doesn't worth the value in my opinion. read more
