Situated inside the TheOne Boutique Hotel, Oo Bar was a unique space even before all the similar venues started popping up all around Flushing. (#1) It's been a multi-faceted place where it has been everything from a daytime eatery to a nightlife hotspot. It's a good looking spot. The hotel is already a trendy place and Oo takes it to another level. The plush seating, contemporary vibe is evident all throughout the venue. There are views of downtown Flushing and greater Queens, with an extensive outdoor setup and a sexy interior. In my personal opinion, happy hours during the day time was the best time to be here. As years have gone on, the usual degradation of nightlife venues happens one step at a time: the wear-n-tear from the crowd, trashy patrons (#2), service snafus, higher prices for less than stellar stuff, and a disgruntled staff. The latter was my biggest issue during my last few visits, which was either security beef or really lackluster bartending. It got a point where we were no longer enjoying ourselves here. It's true I haven't stepped in since the pandemic started. I think there's a lot of room for improvement obviously and the space itself is too good to let it go to waste. While I wouldn't be surprised if this place would become rebranded as something else, I am hopeful they'll pivot in the right direction for the sake of the biz and the local patrons eager to drink on a roof once again. ___________ (#1) The hotel boom of Flushing is only getting started. Came here for a Thursday night. Just for thirsty Thursday. It was a fun night however the bartenders could work on knowing how to make a proper drink. Asking for a mojito or margarita is out of their realm it was pretty bad. This place has a lot of potential but the view is blocked by a lot of buildings and busy streets. If you like coconut get the Blue Havana. It was Malibu and coconut heaven. This place has a rooftop bar which has great sweeping views of Flushing. There is happy hour Monday to Friday but the specialty cocktails are not included on it. Great place to hang out as it is not too crowded. Went here for their new years eve party and it was so bad, not even deserving of one star. The entrance was so poorly run and the bouncer was an idiot who couldn't do his job effectively. We waited for about 25 minutes to get the bottles that we paid for. The prices for hookah and water were extremely over priced and although I get it was new years and you want to make money but those prices were ridiculous. The best part of the night was being pepper sprayed in the lobby by the bouncer while waiting for my uber, great start to the new year. Yes, it's a rooftop, but no there really isn't a view unless you count the sun going down on traffic on Northern Blvd. Stopped in for happy hour right before an event in the area and my first drink was weak, the second - a whiskey sour - was better. Their idea of happy hour is buy one and you get a second free, but it can only be for you. Annoying. I rather just get an overall discount. As far as bar food goes I had the soy garlic chicken wings and they were decent but the fries were a sad affair. So, yeah, if you just want to sit outside for a bit and have a drink this can work. I visited the Oo Bar & Lounge on a Sunday evening as a party of 3. Location: I think it's a great alternative to finding a bar in Manhattan because it is not as highly priced, and parking isn't as difficult to find. Atmosphere: It's cozy, modern, chill. They played house music that wasn't too upbeat but still gave the place a nice vibe. Definitely somewhere I would go just to hang out or to pre-game. It's not some place you'd come to dance. Throughout the place are colour-changing lights which makes everything seem more chic and fancy. Drinks: Drink prices average at around $10 - $12 per drink. Not bad for Queens. Their mixed drink menu's corner stone liquors are vodka and gin-- did not see any drinks using dark liquor, although what we drank was made well, flavorful, and not skimpy on the pour. Food: They have a nice food menu-- snacks and more hearty dishes. We had the pork dumplings, spicy ramen (which was served with the seasonal vegetable of onion, sesame, seaweed, and a fried egg), Korean wing and fries platter, cheese plate, chips and dip, and udon noodles with shrimp tempura. Everything was really good-- the only negative comment I'd have is that the chips served with the chips and dip were a bit stale. They also have beef sliders, seasonal fruit, onion rings, calamari, and other bar snacks. I wanted to try the purple potato fries but they weren't available. The View: The location of the bar makes this place really neat. The 8th floor has a larger seating area with cozy couches and booths, and the 9th floor is the roof where you can sit outside or in the enclosed area and take in the vast urban landscape of lights. Negatives: They seemed to be missing several ingredients in order to make a few of the drinks. They were also lacking some of the items that are shown on the menu. Oo Bar & Lounge is one of many bars that seem to be popping up in nice hotels in flushing. I was scouting bars in flushing when I discovered Oo Bar & Lounge. I decided to give it a chance. Walking off the elevator, I was greeted by a bartender who said my party was upstairs. I took the elevator another flight up and mingled into a Young Democrats party. Apparently because I was wearing a button up I looked official enough. Oo Bar & Lounge consists of two levels, one on the top floor and another on the roof. The rooftop had a pretty good view. Each floor has its own dedicated bar with the top floor having waitress service. There are also some fire pits that were sometimes operational. Speaking to the bartender, the owners don't really refill the propane to operate it. It would've been nice to have, but since it wasn't too cold the view made up for it. The few times that I have been to Oo Bar & Lounge, the top floor was mostly used for dancing, with a DJ coming in on certain nights. Unfortunately the bar does not seem popular enough to support it. The dance "area" felt a bit empty and the music selection was a bit too jarring, switching between hip hop and house was a bit odd. Other than the view Oo Bar and grill did not seem like anything too exceptional in my opinion. The drinks were not that memorable, and were priced a bit too closely to city standards. If in a bind this bar will do, but there are definitely more options out there. read more

NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS PLACE! Part of a bachlorette weekend we decided to do a brunch picking this "rooftop" place. First off, its not even an outside bar, its all windows with an ok view. Secondly, we were pretty much the only people there. Another group came in maybe an hour or so later. When I say we were the only group there, it was literally just us, the DJ, the security guy and two bartenders who seemed as if they didnt even want to be there. The furniture and tables had burn marks everywhere which they use to serve hookah there. The food was pretty nasty, our group was not satisfied at all and their, drinks.. well I drank mainly mimosa which I would not doubt for a second that it was only orange juice. They tried to rip me off. I come here a lot. I remember seeing a menu ting for the hookah $25 on weekdays and $25 is what I always paid, no problem. I came here on Wednesday and it was a very slow night. No hookah menus on the tables, but we always come so we order the same flavour thinking its the same price. When we leaving, the bartender with skunk hair tried to charge us $40 for the hookah. $40 for one of those lil hookahs with only one coal? You must be crazy! I question her. I said pardon miss, but this is not what I usually pay. Then she makes an excuse and said it is $40 because there was going to be event, but since it's canceled, she will charge us $25. That doesn't even make sense. She knew the event was canceled, but still tried to charge us event price. came here when we found out from yelp it was opened. it was a nice night so we wanted to sit at the rooftop on the 9th floor but when we went no one was there. not even a worker. headed one flight down on the elevator and hung out at the indoor bar. first impression as we walked in was ok. no one was there but the place was pretty. it was definitely bigger than the outdoor space. sat down and ordered a Jameson on the rocks and a Jameson neat. hostess was nice and the waitress was too. my friends Jameson on the rocks came with a huge ice. the waitress said it was hand carved. this thing was unnecessary and my friend didn't like it. my Jameson neat glass could have been filled more. felt like it was only a shot in a big glass. maybe I'm just used to other bars giving a lot more? anyways, the waitress kept coming back to ask us if we wanted to order food. we finally did. we ordered the purple potato truffle fries. the fries took longer than expected and when it came it was soggy. not a fan of soggy fries. also the condiments looked like ketchup and mayo but tasted different so I had to ask what was in it. I wish she told us the sauces when she brought it out to us in the first place. we got the check and noticed we got charged $2.00 extra for "the rock" in the Jameson. this was ridiculous! if we knew that "hand carved ice" was extra $ we would have asked for regular ice. felt scammed and what the hell is so special about the damn ice? we left and I don't see a return to this place. also the music was good but it kept stopping at the end of a few songs and it was quiet for a few minutes. this happened at least 3 times we were there. the booth we sat at was nice but uncomfortable since the table was a bit far away and my butt had to sit at the edge of the booth and it was hard wood. read more

This place is sooo cute, I loved it. I visited not too long ago with my girl and a few of her friends for her birthday outing. Of course being as cold and messy as it is in NYC right now we weren't able to go on the 9th floor rooftop but the indoor rooftop on the 8th floor was just as nice. Clean and comfy too. I didn't eat much, I only ordered the chicken wings but they were reallyyyy good. The drinks were even better. Our first waitress, I forgot her name but I believe she's spanish, she was great. Very friendly, cheerful and made sure we were well taken care of. After we paid our bill we decided to stay a bit longer so we moved over to the other side near the bar and had our 2nd waitress, the asian girl (I forgot her name too). She was just as great. Her patron margaritas were on point too. I would definitely recommend that as well as ciroc peach with cranberry juice, if you're into something fruity. We arrived late so we missed the happy hour but the prices were still pretty good, better than I expected. The ambiance is very chill. .They play a mix of music. All current which I loved and I was a bit surprised too because I didn't think they would play some of the same music I listen too. It felt like being at home with the girls, we had a great time. I come to this bar every Wednesday. There is a great happy hour from 5 to 8pm on weekdays. Where I usually come grab my after work drinks. The bartenders are attentive and pleasant. They remember what I drink and have it ready almost as soon as I sit down. Elegant ambiance, a different feel compared to most other Flushing bars. You don't need to go all the way to city for a nice view. You can see the Manhattan skyline from the bar since it's located on the 8th and 9th floor. Came back again bc of work. So this time, started from 8th floor to order drinks and food to have everything brought up to rooftop. Probably because it was a Monday night, so there were no bartenders on 9th floor. 8th floor was very relaxing, and the guy who worked there, Jimmy, was very friendly. We had a complimentary cheese platter with a bottle of Hennesy. Ordered the calamari, spicy garlic soy korean fried chicken, shrimp dish, & fish tacos. Also had the vanilla bean lemon drop, and the caplico cooler drink. The calamari dish was way to small, the pieces were tiny and it was like children's meal. The fried chicken was too hard, but the flavor was good. The shrimp was too hard, and I think it was only 3 or 4 pieces. Fish taco was okay.... Cheese platter was ok.... bread was super hard. The spicy nuts were pretty good.... and the grapes were good... Really wouldn't come here for the appetizers... My lemon drop was strong. The caplico cooler had grapefruit in it. Strange but unique kind of caplico. So the rooftop no longer allows smoking. I guess I would give it more tries here and there. read more

The 9th floor looked like it was under construction no DJ, no staff: it was just cooler temperature wise. the stereo system on the 8th floor too loud: I couldn't have any kind of conversation. You know a spot is really good when you're hesitant to write a review. I really don't want any of you to know about my new afterwork chill spot, I'm telling you don't let me see any of you in here! Oo Bar is super cool, located in the One Hotel off the corner of Northern Blvd and Union St.. It's a pretty small bar but spreads out nicely on 2 floors. The pink and purple lights, purple plush couches and floor to ceiling windows make for a great Manhattan feel right in the middle of Flushing. Parking was a bit of an issue but we lucked out and caught someone coming out of a spot right across the street, Yes! My friend and I hung out at the bar on the 8th floor first ordering cocktails and then their Oo Bar sampler as an app. My Oo Martini was a mix of Ciroc coconut, pineapple juice and grenadine; It wasn't strong tasting but more fruity than anything. After my second one and a slight trip on the way to the bathroom I realized how good the drink really was (have a seat Dyanne lol). The appetizer was large, 7 KFC (korean fried chicken) wings Spicy soy garlic flavor, calamari, onion rings and fries. Stand out items were the calamari, wings and the fries. I don't eat calamari, like ever! I'm not a fan of squishy, rubbery seafood (clams, scallops, calamari) but this batch was delicious! Fried crispy with a sweet sauce drizzled on it Yummy! The wings were crispy and enjoyable too, not much garlic flavor in the sauce but they filled my KFC void. The fries were delicious too, they honestly reminded me of Burger King fries. I'm talking the BK fries from like 7 years ago when they redid the recipe to make them more crispy, soo good!! The 9th floor rooftop bar is pretty nice as well; bright color changing lights with the bar located in the middle of the floor. There are two sides of available seating. On one side there's a large table to accomodate 6-8 people with some standing room and smaller tables on the opposite side with more standing room. The weather was perfection for a September evening and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The view isn't amazing but if you look real hard you can see the Throgs Neck Bridge. This is a great lounge for small gatherings and throwing back a few after a long day of work. Their Happy Hour specials are great 50% off cocktails with some discounted food items. I AM NEVER COMING BACK HERE. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was for the location. FIRST PROBLEM: They advertise the BOGO all week but the Saturday I went, they were having a party on 8th floor so they couldn't honor the deal. Which it doesn't make sense to me why the 9th floor bar had to be effected by it. My cousin and I had a cocktail each which were good. SECOND PROBLEM: I ask for the check for the 2 drinks, on the checks a gratitude of 20% was added. I never seen that done on a check of 2 drink!!!! Not even in the city. I ask the bartender why would she add it to a check of 2 drink and her respond was "We do that"!!! I paid her and she doesn't even give me my correct change! This place is not worth it. Oo Bar & Rooftop Lounge is definitely one of its kind for Queens. Located on the 8th & 9th floor of The One Hotel, Oo Bar & Lounge (is it OH or OOH? anyway...) does not disappoint in almost every aspect. The 8th Floor lounge is chic and intimate with plush furniture and dim pink/purple lighting. The bar is in the center of the floor and you get a 360-degree view of the city with floor to cieling windows. The 9th Floor is the Rooftop Bar, however, it was closed when I went this past Thursday. I will be sure to return when it's warmer out. We arrived during happy hour (5pm-8pm) for Buy One, Get One drinks and appetizers. We ordered the wings platter and a margherita pizza. The chef brings the food out personally, which I think is a nice touch. The pizza was fresh, but the wings were just okay. Nothing to rave about. Though I must admit, I may have been too distracted by their french fries. I forget what they seasoned them with but MY GOD were they good! I would come back just for that. Our bartender, Jennifer, was very attentive and personable. She's knowledgable behind the bar and doesn't hesitate to recommend her personal choices when ordering off of their menu. She made a mean whiskey sour (impressively without any sour mix), margarita, and her own signature, Bella Dama. All were tasty with just enough kick to make sure you knew you were getting your money's worth. Our hostess (I won't even attempt to spell her name) was very nice as well and even sat around to chat with us while business was a bit slow. For the experience, the prices are pretty good. I understand that this was a new bar but the bartenders do not know how to mix and are slow to respond. It's not just one of the bartenders but the majority of them. (Which wasnt bad) When I purchased shots of Jameson, they were listed as 8$, they decide to add on 2$ for who knows why. If you are the type of person who likes to enjoy a nice quiet view or even party all night with a view of the city this is the right place. (Depending on the days/time you go) And the workers there are extremely helpful and friendly. Never had an issue with this hotel/bar/lounge. A trendy and intimate lounge, it is a hidden gem in Flushing. 8th floor is more comfy than the roof (9th floor) with plenty of plush chairs and sofas. Surprisingly, Flushing actually looks beautiful from the rooftop! Came here for the first time on a Friday and it was empty. It was nice for a change to not wait in long lines to get in and to get drinks. Prices are pretty decent and you can have a good time without killing your wallet. In Downtown Flushing, you can't get any better than Oo Bar and Lounge. It definitely does not feel like the karaoke bars and the cheesy bars in an Asian dominated community. I love the idea of two floors...eighth and ninth floor where the 8th floor is an indoor bar and lounge and the 9th floor is rooftop. Both are decorated very nicely. The booths on the 8th floor are surprising to see in a lounge but I thought it is a nice touch for group gathering. The drinks...love love love... I always order Bacardi and sprite with lemon and let's just they know how to make it to my desire. They balanced the rum and soda just right where I can taste slightly more the rum than the sprite (just the way I like). It is more impressive when all the bartenders can the same drinks exactly the same balance (I don't experience this very often in other bars and lounges). I love their shot glasses! I like their food. The French fries and wings were delicious. The one star missing is because the server/bartender that took our order wrote down what we want but she still managed to make my friend's drink wrong. read more

Finally a rooftop bar in Flushing! I'm a bit delayed on this review but I finally had the time to write it so here it goes: So I came here almost everyday for a good month (don't judge... I'm not an alcoholic... I swear....). Over the past few years, I always changed my default bar locations from PAM to Zebra, etc but I finally found a place where service, ambiance. drinks & the location are all great. It's walking distance from the 7 train and very close to the big parking lot if you drive. The drinks are well made and they are, very often, made strong, if you get a mixed drink. This is definitely a plus since people get more for their buck. To those people who complain about strong drinks: Seriously??!! Add water into your drink or something then. The service is great at all levels, from the manager to the bartenders. Very friendly & courteous. Ambiance: Finally a rooftop bar with no KTV. I personally like KTV but Flushing needed a "clean" and classier bar that did not have KTV. Sometimes, I just want to talk to friends & enjoy my drink without my ears bleeding from "tone-deaf societies" that sing at Zebra and other places. Overall, this place is definitely a place everyone should come and check out. Definitely the best bar in Flushing, hands down. This (p)review comes courtesy of access to Oo Bar & Lounge via a Yelp Elite event, where a bunch of us got to sample the goods and take in the view. Oo is a two-level lounge - the 8th floor is indoor and the 9th is an open-air rooftop. Both offer the best view of the NYC skyline that you can get from a lounge in Flushing, especially in the moments after sunset when the sky turns a deeper shade of reddish-orange. If that's what you stop by for, turn right once you get out of the elevator and you'll see Manhattan in the distance. Of course, if you're into looking at some of Flushing's mainstays instead, go left and get a top-down view of Flushing High School. And I know some of you think I'm kidding, but I'm not. Flushing High School is a beautiful building! The indoor area is very sleek and offers seating options for couples and small groups. A small table for two by the window facing Manhattan seemed to offer the best view at sunset. Outdoors is more about the view and the fresh air, but the space is anchored by a bar that greets you directly as you exit the elevator, and a fire pit just to the right. As for drinks - I'm a beer drinker, but this event featured Oo's cocktails. I had my share, but I'll leave that to others to discuss since I wouldn't be the best judge. (As a note, they do serve beer; next time I go, I'll make note of what they usually have.) The bartenders and servers were all friendly and fast, though. And smiling - it might seem like a small thing, but happy staff members makes a difference. We were able to get a taste of the tapas they would serve, and these were gooood! Smoked salmon, chicken lollipops, mozzarella puffs...I can't remember them all but I do remember the server saying, "take as many as you'd like!" when she brought out one of the dishes, and me feeling stupid for only taking one. I can see the space eventually getting packed, which brings to mind two drawbacks to the space: 1) there is only the one elevator to access the lounge, and 2) limited bathrooms. The indoor space has a two-person bathroom, and the outdoor space has a one-person bathroom. With that said, I will come back again, especially now with the weather turning warmer. read more

I don't really get the point of some negative reviews about this place,i came here on a friday night and all i saw was a great bar on the 9th floor, awesome view, had some of the best drinks i have ever had in my life ( try margarita here, it's really really good), service was quick, even though the place was pretty busy and there was only one bartender.. prices are ok, not the most expensive, neither the cheapest place i've ever beem to. I saw a comment about the place being racist, but i saw the exact opposite, 8th floor seemed to be mainly black people and on the 9th there's mainly white people and asians. Came here on a Saturday night for a birthday party. We opted to take a cab as we were informed of the lack of parking and we knew that we would be doing a bit of drinking. When we arrived we noticed that the hotel is located directly next door to the police precinct. (Good thing we took a cab). We walked up to the door and were greeted by 2 security guards that checked our id and patted down my fiancé. We were then directed to the elevator that leads you to the 8th flr. Stepping off the elevator you are met with swaying hips, people singing and the bar that is in the center of the room. We walked around and found a spot to order drinks at the bar and pretty much spent the night there. Our bartender was very sweet and personable. She is definitely generous with the pours. The decor is very modern and sexy. The room has a purple uplighting and floor to ceiling windows . I managed to get to the lavatory OMG! Honestly I think the restroom in barbies playhouse is larger. There are 2 stalls in the women's quarters and 1 sink and mirror. For those women whom like to take selfies and just post up in front of the mirror hunny this is not the place to do so. It's really tight in there. It's one of those get in get out situations. The crowd was a bit mixed. Some dressed grown and sexy and others as if they were going to purchase a sandwich from the deli. One major concern for me was the amount of patrons that found it ok to smoke Marijuana inside. I heard the was a rooftop on the 9th floor but didn't get that far. What a view!! This bar/lounge and rooftop has 360 degree views, including a dazzling view of the Manhattan skyline in the distance. In addition, you can also see both the Whitestone and Throgs Neck bridges lit up at night. I'm definitely going to hit this place up regularly this summer. I dropped into this bar/lounge yesterday evening. I had seen it under construction and wanted to check it out. As it turns out, this weekend is the first official weekend the bar and rooftop will be open to the public. The manager, Jimmy, was super friendly and actually took me up to the rooftop even though it was technically closed. Drinks were reasonable for a bar of this caliber. Beers range $6-$8, wine from about $8-$11, and cocktails from $10-$12. There is a happy hour special from 5-8PM M-F where well drinks, beers, and wine are half off. Bottle service is also available, about $150-$200 depending on what you get. Plus for cute bartenders. There were a couple TVs on with baseball games. At this point, there's ample seating since I don't think that many people know about it. As Percy mentioned, there's a variety of different seating configurations. And yes, I also agree that once this place starts to get packed, it could get kinda uncomfortable since the floor area really isn't all that big. Didn't try to food this time. read more

Great classy bar tuck under a hotel with an amazing view of flushing. When you go up to the 8th floor let the great drinks and view wow any date. In my case, I use it to chat w friends. Super private yet comfortable seating with sides that fully covers you. As for drinks, the white sangria was awesome!!! $26 per pitcher. Also if you down for hookah, they got that too. Waiters are some of the nicest at a flushing bar! They were trying to teach my group how to blow smoke rings :) Was gonna keep this under wraps so y'all don't destroy this place but gotta share the love read more

Nice modern ambience, but... 1) no security guard 2) bad service by waitress w/ glasses who is not only forgetful but not courteous 3) annoying strobe lights if sitting by bar, but the the back of lounge is better read more

Staff here is so kind and hospitable. I love their sampler, calamari, wings, fries and onions rings. All for $15, all of it is amazing. read more

This is a backup bar when Leaf is too full. Don't get the hookah, they use the cheap lighter style coal. Last time I went they were having a private party with an entrance fee. I knew it wasn't worth it despite the encouragement of the staff. Despite that I do like the open space and comfortable seats. Drinks are pricey like all the Flushing hotel rooftop bars. read more
