Typical college dive bar. They offer Happy Hour and apps. If you're looking to have an amazing time then this is not the bar for you. If you are killing time before you go home, come here. If you want to grab a quick bite, come here. If you want to blow off some steam and need several shots, come here. As long as you don't come here with high expectations then by far this is the best bar for you. You can catch your local drunks partaking in slurred conversation while guzzling their beers. If i could give it less i would. This place only caters to the st.johns kids. if your not part of the st.john s college crowd expect horrible customer service. The service is great because the waitresses are polite but the food requires improvement. The chicken fingers need more spices as do the French fries. The only problem I have is with the soft drinks. If you on a a budget then this spot is for you. They don't take cards so make sure you have cash. They do have a ATM machine. I prefer paying cash anyway. Also, if you're hungry, make sure you get something to eat before you go cause they dont have a kitchen. Theres a KFC across the street if you interested. Typical bar lots of seats. Walked in here on a Late Saturday night was greeted by a grizzly bear guard with a big smile, a handshake and a request for ID. Just couldn't fuss with this guy around he provided a sense of comfort you didn't feel like anyone would look at you sideways in here. The bartenders were dancing and mixing drinks. Came here on a Friday night at 11pm. It was a pretty quiet, empty sports bar. I think that it was a college bar, at kinder glad it's not. Seems to be populated with local regulars. Bartenders were nice. The layout of the place was a little awkward- booths in the back, one random table in the middle, tons of floor space, and then a corner for darts and pool table. This place is right around the corner from where I work so I often come here and drink with some of my coworkers. I've had some crazy times here and I love it. They always always have $3 shots and $4 mixed drinks all day. They also have a good happy hour everyday too. Their drinks aren't watered down whatsoever. Great prices, extremely friendly staff, and sweet accommodating bartenders. I recommend their lemon drop shots and their Pineapple Delight mixed drinks. Beautiful chandelier inside but it's not exactly the classiest place to drink at. Cozy booths and couches to sit at if you don't feel like sitting at the bar. Super updated jukebox, has seriously every song I could ever ever think of. They have darts and a pool table in the back as well. Their food is standard bar appetizers but exactly what I look for when I come to bars like this. They were out of onion rings once and that made me a really sad drunk girl. Another time I came, the kitchen was completely closed even though it was early but the bartender was totally fine with us bringing outside food in. Pretty dead during some summer nights but it gets really packed on Thursdays and especially when St. Johns and surrounding colleges are in session. I really like this place though. I come here from time to time. It's a great place to chill and watch games. Very diverse crowd, neighborhood folks and college adults. There is a lounge/party room in the lower level that can be rented for special events. My favorite part is the Juke box-so many great songs. Received a drink and watched the bartender pour a 2 count, which to those who are experienced know that it is half of a shot. I was polite and told the bartender Sarah, I believe that was her name, and she gave me a nasty attitude and an ever ruder response. After waiting 20 minutes for a $7 cranberry juice and receiving a nasty response from this slow bartender I can honestly say that this bar is rubbish! This bar is average, bartenders are lazy and all they care is about tips and sometimes getting drunk the owner tolerates this because he does not care about this place he inherited this location by his father and can careless if he makes $100 or $5000 dollars he lets bartenders run this place and his only concern is showing they appreciate him, the weekends gets crowded by mostly st john college students which I don't mind but this place needs a renovation which I doubt is going to happen anytime soon, drinks are ok and food sucks its worth is you want to stop by and have a drink. read more
