What a great "dive bar"!!! This bar made me feel like I was in a Jersey Shore bar of my youth. The place was a bit dark, pool table, darts and all kind of stuff to look at on the walks and anywhere else they could find to put something. The bartender was quiet but attentive. The owner's father was there and greeted us as we were in MY Mets territory while wearing LA Dodgers shirts. We arrived at the game early and I Yelped this place. I started to come here with my friend that lives near by. It's a no frills hole in the wall that is perfect for hanging out without worrying about unsavory characters or what you're wearing. It's just about having a drink with friends, listening to some music and or playing darts or pool. It needs a bit of sprucing up, just the pool sticks and seats. Super Friendly Drive thru Flushing looking a good local bar and we stumble upon the Recovery Room. It looks a bit seedy from the exterior, but don't let it fool you. This is a great bar. Small bar with cool patrons and a wonderful older man working behind the bar. My wife and I went in and 45 minutes in we already had 3 drinks bought for us. That doesn't happen often. The bar has a pool table and dart boards as well. Good juke box and sports on the TV's. The Recovery Room, a cool, divey bar with great patrons and even better drinks. I was happy to find this place while exploring downtown Flushing, all the other bars in the area seem to be Karaoke bars (which is to be expected with the demographics). I had several delicious beers and was overall impressed. The bar atmosphere is divey, but that's what I like in my bars. This is down the street from my new favorite dim sum restaurant, so I am sure I will be stopping here again for a post-lunch/dinner beer whenever I find myself in New York again. read more

The space was fine but DJ was a sexist, racist, pig. The crowd was literally asking for better music and he snapped on them. Was disgusted that this bar would hire him. If @andreanicholas is the dj you might as well leave while you can because your night will suck. Too much smoke, so dark, and lint was falling from the ceiling. Waste of money. read more

This place is beyond poorly run. The bartender Timmy is a sexist, rude, bartender who is usually drunk while working and takes forever to get drinks. They don't clean it well, and they change the prices for a Jameson on the rocks on me in the middle of my stay. (Two different servers two different prices means bad management) ... First time there. The place is small but cozy. Got there around 10:30 with my friends, not a lot of people on Monday night. Ordered some sex on the beach and Alabama. .....(something) they were good. We got free chips and popcorn, Jimmy ( the bartender) was very nice enough to give us some. There were all guys but elder and they were very nice to us, no bad characters or anything. We played pool, it would be nice if the pool table was a bit bigger. One star less because upgrade needed for the decorations and funitures. read more
