The beers are cold, the food is hot and lots of music and people having fun! The place was so busy on a Friday night and I met a buddy here for drinks since he lives closeby!

This is a great place to go with a group of friends. It is very spacious and boasts an assortment of games. The most popular offerings are the large amount of pool tables and the two ping pong tables. However, they also have some arcade machines with basketball, foosball, darts, and more. And you can even play board games like Connect 4, and Jenga. The food is nothing special, but this is a place to go to hang out - not to eat good food. It's your typical bar food (french fries, burgers, nachos). The drinks are fine though. They have a decent selection of beers and the bartender can make you any cocktail you wish. For a large and laid back place to relax, I recommend Break Bar. You'll definitely have fun here.

Stopped by on a Saturday night around 12-1AM. Got ID and didn't get my purse checked by security. Super crowded, loud and sausage fest. Signing up for table tennis and pool was a long wait with both having at least 20 people ahead of us. Had to give my card and number to be alerted when it was my turn, but people didn't respect that and still tried to steal my table tennis turn. Awkward and disorganized. Drinks wise, I only drank the whiskey sour which was good, nothing crazy. Opened a tab and all the whiskey sours varied for sure, sometimes having a lemon garnish and sometimes not, and inconsistent ice quantity. The games were all basic ones like connect four (normal and giant sized) or giant jenga. But, you're lucky to get a game considering people hog them and most are missing pieces lol. Overall, I like the table tennis and mozzarella sticks so I will come back for that.

They show UFC here! Breaks is a cool spot if you're with a group and want to shoot some pool and play games while downing some drinks. Can't really expect too much from a bar like this other than loud crowds. The food was fine, drinks fine. Service took awhile but that's because it was fight night and it was definitely crowded. However nobody came to my table for atleast 30 minutes... it is what it is. Again, can't have too high of expectations here. Still a cool spot.

Love this place, and I'm so glad they survived COVID. You can miss it if your not sure where your going. But it's up some stairs between stores. I like it here because the food is priced right, there is tons of games you can play and if you're on a new date, just have fun playing games. The services is also good because the waiters check in to make sure customers are getting drinks, food and over comfortable. There's is also pool, where you pay per hour. Overall, an amazing place if you're not sure what you want to do

Went with friends to catch the Mets game. Lots of fun games to play, like connect four and ringtoss. Staff was attentive and came to the table often to get our food and drink orders. The piña colada was so creamy and delicious. Not what you'd expect at a sports bar!

Love this place. No cover plus only 21+, it's great that there's no high schoolers. Ambient vibes even when it's crowded. Come early so you can reserve a pool table. From jumbo Jenga, fooseball, pool, to ping pong, there are a lot of great games to choose from. The pool is about $16 an hour which is awesome. Tip: always remember to close out your pool/ping pong table or tab after playing. They were kind enough given it was my first time here so great plus! Ladies were amazing !!

Came here on a Saturday night before 8. There was one pool table available. It wasn't too busy so it seemed like people could play for awhile if they wanted to before it's late and more crowded. We got to play for two hours no problem. It's $18/hour. If the server doesn't walk around, someone will send a server to your table. It was a comfortable atmosphere to play.

This was a really fun place. The wait staff and security are mostly great. Of course a couple of people who seem to busy to want to do their job, but in general a great crew. The quarters machine was broken while we were there and the manager was nowhere to be found. To accommodate the great staff helped us secure a pool table. We even made some new good friends whom we played with and had a good time. Beers are reasonably priced.

Didn't get the food here but I really like the ambiance of the place. There is pool tables (usually booked unless u get there earlier than 7pm) ping ping (only two tables) and shuffle board. Pool and ping pong was $16 per hour and shuffle board was around $8-10. Drinks were around $7-10 cocktails were $12. So prices are cheaper here compared to manhattan prices. There is no cover as well. They broadcasted alot of different sport games happening. Very good vibes here!

Hands down one of my favorite places to go in Astoria! If you're a fan of billiards, they have loads of tables to rent on the right hand side of the room. A server always comes around to make sure you're well hydrated! On the left hand side of the room are tables, in case you want to sit down, have a drink, and get some light bar food. I'd stay away from the chips & quac (because they're pretty stale) but all of the other bar food is fantastic. There are plenty of other games to play here; football, darts, basketball, ping pong, jenga, connect four, and more! You cannot go wrong here for a good night.

Came here on a friday night with some friends. Place was packed from the get go (as expected on a friday night). Overall an excellent place to go with a group of friends as theirs a diverse array of games to play from ping pong, billiards, and even a list of board games. Drink wise price was fair ($7-10 dollars for a drink). Highly recommend for a fun night out.

While I had intended to leave a tip anyway, gratuity should always be at the customer's discretion. I was already slightly annoyed, but I chose not to point it out because I didn't want to create unnecessary drama. Additionally, we politely asked if the music could be turned down slightly, as the bar was relatively empty and the volume was excessive. In response, the bartender made inappropriate comments regarding tipping, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. I hope ownership is aware of the level of service being provided, as this experience reflected poorly on the establishment.

What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.
